This hotel is authentic Norway and quite a gem. There are wonderful small log cabins in addition to the more traditional hotel rooms. This is an historic property visited by the Norwegian Royal family and it has a wonderful restaurant. The breakfast is good and the dinner is outstanding. Many of the summer wait staff are local or from other parts of Scandinavia. They are energetic and fun. If you want to visit real Norway, try this hotel run by the same family for 5 generations.

This family run hotel is a bit of authentic Norway. The buildings are historic and the restaurant has a long history as well. There are many places to stay in this area now but this is where it all got started. There are cabins to rent as well and they are designed and outfitted by a local carpenter. The staff is wonderful and includes lots of locals in the summer who are on break from university. I love real experiences, not just a standard hotel where you could be anywhere. Don’t worry, the WiFi service is good as well!

Beautiful old hotel in the centre of lom. Great restaurant with friendly service and fresh local food. The rooms and surrounding has its unique character.

This Hotel in old historical building and it managed by same family for many generations. Building is really beautiful, there is restaurant and lobby/sitting area and also a library.||Breakfast was good, but nothing to special, gluten free selection was quite narrow.||Rooms are quite small, and interior old, no air conditioning or even ventilation in a room except shower had exhaust fan, which was on only when you leave also the lights on. But i guess it comes with old buildings.||Location is superb, in the center of everything in this small town, reasonable free parking spaces and helpful staff. But in my mind the price was quite high in return of quality of the accommodation.

Absolutely loved the motif here. Lots of care to details and oozes Rustic-Nordic. The dining room offers great views of the Stave Church and countryside. The 6 course meal was tremendous and staff were all polite, friendly and welcoming. Wish we could've stayed longer.

This historic hotel is in a great location and has the best dinners I have ever had. While some complained that the rooms were dated, I just think it adds to the rustic mountain lodge vibe. Being able to see the stave church and the fjords from my room was a treat. I will say some rooms and bathrooms might nit be easily accessible for those with limited mobility.

Nice location, the room was ok although a little small. Feels like you stay at some sort of cabin. The curtains are not blackout so you will know when the sun is up. Breakfast is standard, bread, spread, eggs and bacon and cereal.

Dinner was good, but breakfast felt a little "stingy". When one's on a holiday, one expects a wider selection of cold meats, beverages, breads, etc. For the price of 1800++ kr per night, I couldn't see a hair dryer. Good thing I had brought mine. In my experience traveling all over Norway, I find independent and family-owned hotels to have inconsistent and varying level of service or comfort (food, hair dryer, interior, toiletries)..

Do yourself a favor and eat here!! Scallops were the best I've ever had though it could do without the sauce which was a bit salty. But the scallops itself, super fresh and delicious tasting.
The falafel with veggies were extremely delicious. Veggies cooked to perfection. Didn't think I would like eating an entire turnip/onion like I did. And the perfectly baked and tasting potatoes! Oh man!
To top it off, hands down THE BEST creme brulee in my life. And I'm not even a fan of the ones back home in the US. But Norwegians with their fresh ingredients and how they do food and dessert, make me appreciate and love other food I typically don't like back home or have a hard time finding decent ones. Usually creme brulee tastes too milky or creamy, or sweet for me. This one--none of that. Just absolute perfect! Paired with the raspberry sorbet and the fresh berries from their garden--woo wee! Would order another if I weren't full.
Thank you for a lovely experience. Friendly service, amazing food, and gorgeous views. Eat here!
