Beautiful location and really nice hotel overall. Hot tubs and steam room open 24 hour. There are no restaurants in the area so either bring something or play to use their restaurant which is a little pricey but the chef is fantastic. Breakfast is really well done including waffles machine. Yes the facilities seem a little outdated but nothing too bad, mostly about the style, which gives it some character. The hotel is clean.

We were supposed to stay at their sister hotel, Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon but were unable to keep our reservation due to road closures and weather. This is the hotel we were transferred to. I would describe our experience here as average. It would be much nicer if the hot tubs were indoor as it can be quite cold in the winter months to sit in water that is only 40 degrees celsius. The hot tubs also appeared like they had not been cleaned in quite some time. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the hallway always had a strange smell. Not sure if it was the cleaning products or something else. The rooms were cleaned each day but no coffee supplies were replaced except the mugs. The dining room and breakfast buffet experience were exceptional. Food was delicious and service was great! As expected, the dinner menu was quite expensive. Only point of contention is guests do not have access to coffee throughout the day. While grabbing a quick cup of coffee in the afternoon, I was politely advised that coffee is only available during breakfast. If you want to keep your guests extra happy, the least you could do is provide coffee 24/7. Especially considering the cost per night. All in all, our experience was average and I'm thankful we did not have to rebook another hotel. However, given the choice I would probably not stay here again.

The hotel did not disappoint. We went there looking for some peace in quiet in a cosy place, surrounded by nature - and that's what we got. The landscape is great and you can see Hekla in the distance. There is a fire place in the bar-lounge area and that makes for a great evening experience. Two hot-tubs and a sauna also on premises. Hot tubs are quite big and have 2 different temperatures, which means you'll never be cold & you can always cool off a bit in the 36-38C tub. Staff is also very friendly and ready to help. A great gem in the countryside!

Cute hotel, clean rooms, beautiful views. Easy to find by following the directions on Google maps. Staff is very friendly! Breakfast is included and there are delicious home made breads, a waffle station, and much more. The staff provided us with the recipe for the home made bread! We stayed for one night and enjoyed it very much. There is also dinner and they ask you to make a reservation.

We stayed for 6 nights. Really lovely hotel, not too far from Route 1 and thus an easy drive to most of the spots on the Golden Circle. The food was very good, a decent selection for breakfast however we had dinner at the restaurant just once as it was quite expensive (although this is the norm for most of Iceland to be fair). The hot tubs are brilliant, particularly in the evening where you can lie back and relax for a bit of stargazing - or, if you were as lucky as us, you might even see the Northern lights (we got an amazing show on our first night)! Staff were friendly and helpful too. Rooms were comfortable enough, however some of the decor was a little worn / dated. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others!

Exactly what our family needed: a family room for four. Bonus: the room has two bedrooms with two televisions, robes for everyone to use, soap, shampoo, conditioner, mini refrigerator. Diverse breakfast buffet. The chef made the bacon perfectly and the hard-boiled eggs also showed expertise in breakfast-making. We enjoyed the dinner. Kids’ meals are a very good value. Adult choices were chicken, salmon, or lamb, all made with great care. The hot tubs and sauna are open 24 hours. It was wonderful sitting in the hot tub as big snowflakes came down. Lastly, the service here is above and beyond, always with a smile. We will definitely be back. P.s. the hotel uses compostable takeaway cups. :)

Decent hotel with a great ambience. Rooms are nicely decorated with an old fashioned touch. Clean, organised and well equipped. Dinner and breakfast are artistically served and tasty. Service is friendly and with an Icelandic charm. Be prepared that it is on the countryside! Not much to visit around on foot.

This places really needs renovating. The rooms were worn out but 'fixed up' with random Ikea furniture, the bathrooms smelled bad. Coming from Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon it really was a bummer to stay here and we really did everything to spend as little time as possible in the rooms (during our 2 day stay). The reataurant serves food at Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon prices, but it was overcooked and tasteless, best to eat elsewhere. Although staff cleans the tables, they continue to be sticky. The bar, although small, fortunately was cosy and had some decent drinks. As far as location is concerned: it is in the middle of everything but not close to anything: you always need a (long) drive to get somewhere and there are no restaurants in the neigborhood.
