From the outside, the hotel resembles a refurbished 1960s or ’70s brutalist block, complete with a front-facing car park. The main entrance is slightly off to the left, though you can also enter through the wooden door to the bar, which feels like stepping into another era. Once inside, however, the hotel has clearly been modernised.||We stayed in room 343 on the second floor. The corridor had newly designed carpets, and the room itself offered an incredible view of the golf course and the snow-capped mountains beyond—easily the highlight of our stay.||Unfortunately, the room had several design flaws. The bathroom layout was poor, with a glass shower screen that failed to contain water. The floor wasn’t recessed, so water from the shower easily spread across to the toilet and under the sink, soaking the bathroom mat in the process.||The blackout curtains didn’t fully block out the light, especially due to a protruding wall that allowed light to seep through from the sides and bottom. The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows far too soft. The twin beds felt like an afterthought—the wall-mounted bedside light was clearly positioned for a double bed, meaning one of the single beds ended up directly beneath it. Moving in bed risked bumping your head on the fixture.||The furniture felt either retro or simply old. Grey carpets added a dated feel, and the brown wardrobe and study desk looked worn, though what appeared to be dust was more likely just age-related discolouration. A flat-screen TV was mounted on the wall, and there were a couple of side lamps.||There was a quirky picture of a basil plant on the wall, though it didn’t add much to the aesthetic. The toilet door didn’t lock, and the general finish of the bathroom and bedroom felt mismatched with the bar and lobby areas, which were far more thoughtfully renovated.||That said, the hotel was quiet overnight—even with the windows open—and the view from our room was absolutely stunning. If you’re lucky enough to get a mountain-facing room, you’ll wake up to the beautiful sight of snowy peaks above the golf course, which is easily the property’s most redeeming feature.
