There’s plenty of parking out the front of the hotel. We arrived slighter earlier than check in time, but staff allowed us to check in as the room was ready. There is no lift so be prepared to carry your luggage up fairly narrow stairwells. ||The hotel is in some need of an update a lick of paint and maybe some renovations. Upon entering the room it was large and spacious with plenty of hanging space with a good sized bathroom. Tv and tea and coffee making in the room. Straight away we could hear noise coming from below as we were on the second floor facing the car park. We went down and asked if we could move rooms and were told there was nothing they could do and we were told to come back later in case they had another room available to move into. After popping out and as the evening went on the noise from below was getting a lot louder we went down again and let reception know and they said all they could do is ask the kitchen to be quieter. ||The noise from the kitchen carried on into the evening and didn’t finish until around midnight, including the staff leaving and slamming car doors. Do take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The staff didn’t really do anything to help. Out of the 7 hotels we stayed in during our trip this was the worst one. The hotel itself is probably fine as long as you aren’t staying in this room.

My review is influenced by our amazing Northern Lights experience. This hotel is the perfect location for seeing this epic display. |Very friendly front desk staff who greeted us sweetly after checking in a large group with individual rooms. |Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Did not visit the bar or restaurant for dinner, but it was very popular and guests seemed happy. I did trouble the bartender for some ice and she was sweet.|Breakfast included with room - plentiful and filling but nothing to set it apart. |We appreciated the location to Hofn for supplies and rental car issue but were unable to find a restaurant in October. Easy drive to the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and the Black Sand Beach. Both must sees!|We drove in from Myvtan and the views were stunning.

Very good hotel. Staff answer questions and are helpful. Breakfast staff are superlative, very attentive, continuously refilling breakfast items. An exceptional included breakfast with a wide selection. Beds are very comfortable with clean linens in excellent condition. Plenty of towels upon request. Good location for exploring Hofn snd East coast. Recommend you stay here. Free parking.

Perfect location for aurora viewing at night and view of the vatnajokull in the morning. Room was comfortable with a great mountain view and the shower was HOT, much needed. Breakfast could use more variety and the main entrance was bit hard to find at night.

The Fosshotel Vatnajökull just outside Hofn was the most expensive and most vanilla place we stayed in Iceland. It was a nice room and a great breakfast, just lacking any real character. It was pretty convenient to the glacier lagoon and it was the best deal on a double room with private bath in the area.

Location is beautiful! The main lobby and bar area are very nice. The rooms could definitely use some updating and beds not comfortable. Breakfast was great.

Fosshotel Vatnajokull is a beautiful hotel in the middle of Icelandic nature. We had the suite and that is a beautiful room with a magnificent view. The breakfast is extensive and good. The restaurant is expensive and has a limited menu that is not in proportion to the price. |Unfortunately, we received an email from the reception the day after checking out stating that we had to pay a fine (approximately 700 euro) because it was found that we had smoked in the room. The hotel had found a bag with cigarette butts in the pedal bin in the room and that was proof that we had smoked there. It did not occur to them that if we had smoked, we would of course never leave cigarette butts behind. Of course we did not smoke inside but outside as it should be and the cigarette butts were neatly placed in a sealed plastic bag and also in the pedal bin as it should be. A day later, it was reported that a smell of smoke had also been detected. So they stuck to the unjustified and false accusation and the fine was deducted from my credit card. As a hotel guest, we are the ones who get the short end of the stick despite our right. We have not smoked in the hotel and we have to accept this accusation against our will. That is also Fosshotel Vatnajokull.

Loved the view from the hotel room, which was overlooking the mountains and the National Park||The room was very luxurious with posh toiletries, open spaces, and floor to ceiling glass windows for unobstructed views of the greenery around. Parking was plenty. Shame that the electric charging point for cars in the parking wasn't working so was ever-so-slightly inconvenient. ||We included breakfast and that was good
