"Set on the far side of the eponymous national park, a third of the way around Iceland’s circumference from Reykjavík, Fosshótel Vatnajökull is a hotel of a type that’s become familiar: a contemporary structure with a traditional silhouette, combining utilitarian materials and modernist-classic furnishings in front of vast windows facing spectacular natural vistas. Here it’s the Vatnajökull glacier that provides the visual interest; with 66 rooms it can feel lively, but even at capacity it’s not exactly bustling. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, which made check-in smooth and welcoming. After a long day of driving, it was such a relief to lie down in the extremely comfortable beds, they were just what I needed. The bartender was also very friendly and made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, a great stay!

We only stayed one night, but we had a comfortable stay. The room was functional, had a kettle, complimentary coffee and tea, and was clean and adequate. ||We walked around outside and the views and surroundings are impressive. You can see the glacier and a nearby waterfall.||Definitely a recommendable hotel.

Great unassuming hotel outside of Höfn. Dinner: good quality well prepared food. Breakfast generally good except for the rotten apples and at times buffet food was not restocked. Room was very spacious with great view of the glacier, comfy beds, whatever happens to the shampoo and conditioner, there was none!

Very disappointing after Foss hotel Myvatn...great views but strangely configured room. First room did not have a shower curtain; alternate offered had sink in the bedroom; shower separate and toilet separate. Staff tried, but not great experience overall. Restaurant was good.

Very nice staff. We stayed in a corner suite, which had a great view.||Room and facility in general was CLEAN. Check-in/check-out speedy and flawless. ||But the hotel has physical maintenance deficiencies (literally a cracked door in an up-scale corner suite room), separate damage to a door frame out in the hallway, damaged RF coax cable to the TV set.||The staff at Fosshotels have all been very nice. But Fosshotels in-general seems to have maintenance (facility repair shortcomings) at many of its hotels.

An absolutely delightful little hotel after a full day! Staff greeted us and upgraded our room for a mountaininview. Relaxed and enjoyed a delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant. I ordered the Arctic Char, hubby had the chicken. Both were 10/10. So good!! Breakfast Buffet was fantastic!

I recently stayed at Fosshotel Vatnajökull. The hotel itself is very nice and clean, with modern facilities and a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, it’s not a good place to rest. After 11 PM and from 7 AM onwards, there were constant loud bangs from doors being shut by other guests, which made it impossible to relax or get proper sleep. If you are looking for peace and quiet after a long day of traveling, this is unfortunately not the best option.

We were wowed by the superior service and attention to ensuring the best experience for guests. The room was beautiful, clean, and had a beautiful view of the glacier. Very peaceful. Very good food. Highly recommend.
