Very nice hotel in a lovely location with great views. The evening meal was good as was the breakfast too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Not much in the local town but there is a little restaurant worth a visit. The rooms are well-equipped and clean, though a little soulless. As we found in quite a number of hotels, unless you are travelling on a coach tour it is harder to get the best view rooms as they are all booked up; independent travellers need to book such rooms well in advance (although we did book in January and stayed late-July, but even then had a rear view - which was okay - because they "were all booked up". So, all in all nice-enough.

I stayed one night in a basic room on the second floor, which was modern, functional, and offered a lovely sea view. However, light sleepers may want to be aware that the flagpoles outside can be quite noisy in windy weather, which continued throughout the night during my stay. The bathroom was compact and functional, though it lacked a rinse glass. The hairdryer, unfortunately, was not working and had visible strands of hair from a previous guest. While this wasn’t a major issue for me personally, it could be more concerning for others and would have been useful for drying wet clothing given the weather.

Great hotel. Rooms were nice and a great welcome by the reception staff. I forgot the name of the bartender. He just started here two weeks ago and came from Poland. Definitely a keeper. I would hire him if I had a restaurant. He gave a great guest experience and knew what hospitality means

As expected from a chain-hotel; clean, all services work etc.; but no atmosphere. Also the breakfast was OK, clearly did not use quality ingredients. The dinner was way overpriced for a small portion of mediocre quality. Go for dinner to another place in town (there is a good one).

Tiny rooms - o.k at least with a great view BUT dirty in all areas - not only the bathroom full of hairs but also the whole room and dustballs. Dinner really desastrous - bad service, not one good dish and expensive (for example: The green salad - some leaves of green salad and ruccola, 8 slices of cucumber and 3 halfenend mini-tomatoes at a price of 20 €!!!!).

While traveling in Iceland, my family and I used this hotel as base camp (four nights!) for our time in the Westfjords and we were so happy we stayed here! I say this mainly because of the AMAZING staff! But we also enjoyed the hotel's setting by the water and the food in the restaurant. (I highly recommend the Arctic char!) Our room was clean, adequate, and had a lovely view of the mountain behind the hotel, which we had the great fortune to see in all kinds of weather including rainbows and snow! But let me go back to the staff... Because we were there four nights, we had a wonderful opportunity to connect with the staff, many of whom had just arrived to start their season. We experienced exceptional hospitality from Anne, Dora, Hubert and Sam, among others. These four wonderful humans were so gracious and went above and beyond to make sure our time there was enjoyable and comfortable. Super special shout-out to Anne who helped us repeatedly with weather and road conditions and recommendations for adventures. In fact, it was sad when we checked out the morning of our departure and had to say goodbye. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was the perfect place to call home for four days in beautiful Patreksfjörður!

If you’re in the mood for a 45-minute wait, followed by a tiny portion that feels like a practical joke, then you’ve found the right place. Tiny portions? Naturally. Frozen fish dressed up as "fresh"? Of course. And let's not forget the mashed potatoes, clearly piped from a plastic bag. Dining here isn't just disappointing; it's almost a performance art. Iceland is full of unforgettable experiences, but unfortunately, this is one you'll remember for all the wrong reasons. Ouh… and it,s really expensive, of course 😊

I’ve stayed in Fosshotels throughout Iceland and I like the consistent quality throughout. I had a particularly great experience with the staff at this hotel. I forgot something in my room and the staff went above and beyond to help get it back to me. The Westfjords are gorgeous and if I come back I would happily stay here again.
