We had a wonderful experience staying at FOUND Hotel. It’s a very nice place located in a beautiful old building—it looks like they remodeled a classic apartment building (though I’ll let them confirm that!), which gives it a lot of character. The location is absolutely central. You are within walking distance of historical locations, the main shopping streets, museums, and plenty of restaurants. Being near everything makes such a big deal when exploring the city. A few practical details for future travelers: Parking: There is a garage directly across the street for $26 per 24 hours, which is great for Boston. Transit: The subway is just a 10-minute walk away (we used it to visit Harvard very easily). The Prudential Center is about a 25-minute walk. Food: There are tons of options around, ranging from cheap eats (food courts/Chipotle) to expensive seafood and steakhouses. The hosts were all very friendly, and we appreciated the free coffee and tea in the lobby. Regarding the room, while it wasn't exactly like the picture (our windows faced another building), it didn't affect our rating or enjoyment at all. Verdict: If you are looking for a fancy 5-star hotel, the Four Seasons is around the corner ;) but if you want a great stay in the heart of the city, this is the place. Will I stay at FOUND if I come to Boston again? 100% yes. Thanks a lot for hosting our family!

Google
Rooms are small and hallways are quite narrow, but they are kept exceptionally clean and have very nice bathrooms and shower. Staff is attentive and friendly and really made the stay special. If you are looking for a nice, clean, and safe place to stay along Boston Common on a budget, this is the perfect place.

Google
Fine hotel but two words,” cold shower”. After a day of traveling and some walking around Boston I went to take a shower and had the pleasure of a very luke-warm shower. Of course I pushed through because what else was there to do, and it was late so I didn’t talk to any staff until the next morning. When I did mention it, staff was not very apologetic, but just informed me that many other people had also complained and that it was a boutique hotel with only one water heater. While I totally understand, this is something that every guest should be informed of before booking. It is December and cold outside, no one wants to take a cold shower especially without being warned in advance. So be cautious when booking, there is no hot water during peak times and you may have to go out of your way to schedule a shower during a time when there will most likely (but not guaranteed) hot water. The room was a good size for just 2 nights (2 queens bed room) but there were some dirty spots. There was hot water, regular water, and tea in the lobby 24/7 which was nice and they held our luggage after we had to check out. The location is also great! The staff was also very nice whenever we would pass through the lobby :)

Kendall was made our experience at the Found Hotel. She was kind from the jump, and she gave us so many ideas for things to do because it was our first time in Boston! My boyfriend and I got lucky and got an end room, which had three windows and a beautiful view of the city. The beds were a little hard, so if your back is sensitive to those kinds of things, just keep that in mind. That was our only real complaint! The hotel is walking distance from Chinatown. The hotel also has a massive list of local restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and more in the surrounding area – it even specified if the places were cash only or not! We found that to be a helpful tip in deciding where to go. Overall, the hotel was nice for what we paid! We will be back. And special shoutout to Kendall! 💖

Google
It's a very tiny room, enough for two to sleep but you need to crawl on to the bed if you're by the wall. Small but watchable TV, bathroom has sliding door and fan stand up shower no tub. No fridge, theres a safe and small standing closet. Windiw with black out curtain, "most" light blocked. There's pump bottles of body wash & shampoo. The front desk 2 of the 3 were super friendly and very helpful in general. Coffee, tea water available in lobby. You can doordash to the lobby. Lighting was good but don't bother with the overhead USB outlet over night it shuts off with the light switch. Use your own plug bring a couple long usb cords. All in all it was a nice experience comparable to glamping / camping experience. I saw one ant in our room.. but not a big deal. Everything else clean and not skeevy. Food is kind of pricey in area. Still overall I'd say it was a decent stay.

Google
Great location. HOWEVER. We stayed in the summer and used the air conditioning. The a/c unit made the worst noise and we couldn't sleep properly because even if we turned it off there was a pump that ran about every hour or so and woke us up. It was awful. We complained to the staff and they said that they were aware of the issue (!!!) and that even if they gave us another room all of the airconditioning units have the same issue. We were supposed to be staying for two nights for my husband to go to job interviews on Monday and Tuesday and so we ended up checking out a day early to get some sleep. We told the staff why and asked if they could refund the charge for the second night. They said okay. Then the hotel charged us anyway. Thank goodness for credit card charge backs. Also, I tried to upload a video of the noise and it won't let me so here's a photo of the a/c unit taken from a still of the video.

Google
Fantastic stay here. We checked in early which was a pleasant surprise. Staff was kind and quick. Good price for a single room. Only there for a night so the small room did not bother us. Definitely a spot I would stay again.

Google
I was skeptical of this stay based on the reviews but we had a positive experience here at the found hotel. The room was small but that was shown in the pictures so we were already aware. The room was clean and stocked with towels, hand soap, lotion, body wash and shampoo. It was pretty noisy as you can hear all the sounds outside, people walking in the hall, and the elevator is loud but luckily I brought a sound machine. I do recommend that for more peaceful sleep. The staff was friendly during check in and check out. This was a nice stay just for one night where all we did was sleep in the room.

Yelp
I got the reservation way ahead of time however unknowns that I was in a four-bunk hostel room plus the bed I fell off the damn ladder twice trying to get on the floor. I don't know but next time I'll be sure to get a solo one so none of that happens again but bed was good but no phone calls or anything to help. Needs improvement.

Yelp
The place was a dark, dingy, old hostel renamed a "hotel" so they could charge exorbitant rates. I was charged $571.00 for the first night of three. I had to cancel because my flight was late and American Airlines put me up in Phoenix. I could not get to Boston that night and had to wait until morning. Found Hotel would not refund my money, even though I called the afternoon before I was to check in. My room was tiny and ill equipped: no bedside lamp, no amenities, no tv. The lobby was bare and dark, but for a small reception desk, a coffee/tea machine, and a chair. The only good thing about the hotel/hostel was the staff. They were cheerful, helpful, and kind, but of course could not offer refunds. The façade of Found was old and fancy, belying the shabby interior. For the price, I could have stayed at a good brand name nice hotel downtown.

Yelp
A small hotel with limited amenities, but it makes up for it with charm and an unbeatable location! You can grab hot tea and coffee in the main lobby, and there are vending machines for snacks and drinks down in the basement. The best part? It's just an 8-minute walk to Chinatown and only two blocks from Boston Common. The staff was super friendly, and the hotel has a unique, cozy vibe that made my stay enjoyable.

Yelp
I've been waiting to write this review since coming back home to California. I am a solo traveler, and I had to go to the east coast to attend my best friend's wedding in Rhode Island. So I booked two nights with Found, having a car. Firstly, this hotel doesn't have its own parking, but they do have a discount for the LAZ parking right across the hotel. Nightly, parking goes for I believe it was $44, but with the Found hotel validation at the front desk, it drops down to $26 for overnight parking. So this is a slight hassle especially if you have a lot of luggage, but again, traveling solo with 2 luggages was not too bad at all. Upon entering the hotel, you do have to walk a small flight of stairs to get into the check in, but check in was very smooth and easy for me. I booked a single room. It was small, and basically half a dorm room, but the bathroom inside the room is spacious enough to not have an issue with showering / toilet. As a solo traveler's room and experience, it is slightly on the pricier end, but it beats a hostel experience for sure especially if you don't want to be sharing a space with other strangers. I highly recommend it for solo travelers! Now, location wise- THIS SPOT IS GREAT TO JUST WALK EVERYWHERE! It's located in the heart of downtown so if you ever need to get food, even late at night, everything is walking distance anywhere from 1 minute - 15 minutes walkable breakfast, lunch, dinner. The first night I arrived around midnight and I was able to walk to Chinatown. It is quite safe walking around even at night. It gives very much downtown LA vibes, but a lot safer / cleaner! It's even walkable to the Freedom Trail which is one of the best sights to see when in Boston. TLDR - Location is great. Parking is not free. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. I think if you can afford it, it's better than staying in a hostel - and gives great privacy. Overall, I had a great experience here! A lot of the time, people are just using the rooms to sleep anyways, so go out, explore, and feel safe with your luggage!

Yelp
The room was well appointed and surprisingly spacious with a small desk, two armoires, two queen size beds and a bathroom with shower. It was very clean and offered lots of pillows per bed. The armoires had awesome nooks with USB charger outlets and plugs. The free wifi was fast. I loved that we were so close to some nice restaurants, Tufts Medical Center, and within a mile of South Station and the wharf. Right around the corner was The Blue Man Group Theater. They validate parking for the garage directly across the street and that reduced the price by $26. The front desk staff was super nice, helpful, and friendly. They locked up our bags for us while we ventured out for the day post checkout. I'd gladly stay here again if I was to come to Boston.

Paige F.

Yelp
The air conditioning units were so noisy, all night long we got virtually no sleep. That combined with the promise of parking validation (which was not accepted and therefore we had to pay full price) is why we strongly disliked our stay at Found hotel. The management is aware that all conditioning units in the rooms require maintenance because of the extremely harsh and loud noises, which have been complained about repeatedly by other patrons yet, they still felt that renting these rooms is appropriate in the current conditions and for the high price, which it is not.

Yelp
I was here back in May for 2 nights. I was using up my soon-to-expire hotel credit voucher. I was issued the voucher due to COVID cancellations back in 2020. I totally forgot about that voucher until I received an email notifying me of the impending expiration. Originally, I tried to use them so I could spectate at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, but the costs involved with that was crazy expensive! Instead, I opted for a trip out here almost a month after the marathon when the prices were a lot more reasonable. Check-in was quick and easy. The hotel staff that I interacted with during my stay were all nice and friendly. The room key was a unique design. It was a small hotel, so during my short stay, I took the stairs instead of bothering with the elevator. My room was barely large enough to fit that twin bed! Yet, a tiny bathroom with a sink, a toilet, and a shower was all squeezed in there! One odd thing was that the TV settings were all in Korean! I had to use my cellphone camera to translate everything. All I wanted was to turn off the closed captioning subtitles. :) It close to a MBTA station and there were plenty of food options all within walking distance. It was in a very convenient location.

Yelp
For weeks before our Boston trip, I opened tabs to other hotels in fear of the reviews I kept seeing about this one online. If we had booked another place though, we would have missed out on what came to be one of the most memorable parts of our stay in Boston. I chose this hotel first for its price, but also for its location right next to Chinatown. I did not want to have to walk far to access the city's main attractions by foot, and the location was perfect. It felt safe to me. We walked outside at night several times to get late night food and had no issues with other rowdy travelers. We took a redeye flight and arrived on a Sunday morning. The front desk attendant, Sean, greeted us. He asked if it was our first time in Boston, and proceeded to tell us his favorite food spots, attractions, and gave us a list as well as a map of the city with his recommendations circled. It was a really nice way to start off our trip. He told us to come back around noon as we could probably do an early check in if our room was ready, but we ended up going to so much actions anyway and came back after our check-in time. I love that the luggage drop-off and checking in early were both free. When we came back, we were greeted by Brian, another desk attendant who we got to know pretty well throughout our seven days. He was always there to chat with us and helped us out personally when we were requesting things at night. The staff here were such cool people who always greeted us when we came in or left. We booked a private room with two queen beds for four people. I couldn't tell how big the room was going to be based on photos, but it was actually bigger than we thought! There is no microwave nor dressers in the room, just two closets. There was a table near the phone as well, but no bed stands. However, it was fine for us to leave luggage open on the floor. There was even room for us to exercise in the middle every night after eating carbs all day. The bathrooms and bedding were clean, and the TV worked well. They forgot our housekeeping request for a day, but it wasn't that big of a deal. I also liked the smell of the soaps and lotion they provided. The blackout blinds were great for blocking out the street lights and sunlight. We did not expect a fancy view or anything. Late checkout is free as long as the staff is notified beforehand and there is availability. You can come in as soon as the room is ready before 3PM and check out at 12 PM instead of 11. There's also free laundry with soap provided. The common room in the basement is cute. One of the problems I can see having is that there is a poor noise barrier with the hallways. Not much happened outside the window by the hotel during our stay here, but in the times that we would hear other travelers walking around the hallways or speaking, it was like they were right in the room with us. We came on a Sunday and left on a Saturday, and we would often sleep around 2 AM anyway, so we did not have any experiences with rowdiness, although it may be different for other people. Overall, I would definitely come back and hope our next stay is just as good as this first one! Sean and Brian, we hope you're doing well!

Yelp
I LOVE historic hotels and am so glad I found this place. It's clean, the room I stayed in was small but tidy and had an amazing waterfall shower head. I had a nice city view from the 4th floor, and there's a cappuccino machine in the lobby. I arrived super early the day of the Boston Marathon and Peter at the front desk was so helpful and stored my luggage while I went to cheer on my friend. A group tonight was yelling loudly after midnight and someone from the hotel just came up and asked them to quiet down. Great location, wonderful staff, super clean and a good price for the area. I will absolutely come here again!

Portia J.

Yelp
I booked a room at the Found hotel because it was close to the theater and affordable. I was a little concerned about the bad reviews, but I figured I'd give it a shot anyways. I checked in with, Kendall, who was very helpful and friendly. My room was on the third floor, and I took the small elevator up, which was like riding in a coffin. From then on, I used the stairs. The room was clean and decent. The beds were low to the ground, as they were only a mattress without a boxspring. My only complaint was that the thermostat did not work, and I was a little bit cold at night. I tried to take a hot shower, but the water would not get warmer than lukewarm. Very disappointing. I tried again in the morning, but again no hot water! I probably won't stay here again.

Yelp
For the price and location it's a pretty good deal. Boston hotels are expensive! Located within walking distance to many of Boston's top attractions and a couple blocks from the T station. We had a room with two Queen beds (although seemed a little smaller than a queen to me). It's a cute boutique hotel with some friendly front desk staff and some less friendly and helpful but overall a good experience. We did sleep well the one night we stayed. The rooms are renovated with a nice shower. We didn't have much of a view but that's to be expected in the city. They have paid parking available at a lot across the street.

Rhonesha B.

Yelp
Customer service at the front desk is gold standard! Kendall and the entire team for day and night shifts were very helpful and accommodating of our needs to maximize our comfort. We already knew the rooms were small and the walls were thin, so no complaint from us on that. It was clean, stocked with necessities and the bed was cozy. The dark curtains helped us have a nice sleep. It was just what we needed for a busy business trip with some time for tourism. The room perfectly served our purpose with 2 people sharing a bed. If you're sensitive to noise, bring good noise canceling headphones. Classic historical setting with some modern amenities. Enjoy!
google avatar

Patti C.

Yelp
Although front staff is very friendly and try to please this hotel was expensive for what it is worth. We were placed on bottom floor beyond front desk and noise levels were terrible. You heard every car drive by, every car radio and every conversation both from the street and at front desk all night long. Mattress needs replacement as very uncomfortable. . The room was so small you had to literally crawl over each other to get out of a double bed . You could not fit a carryon in the tiny closet. There was no soap in liquid dispenser and room was lightly surfaced clean yet not to our standards.

Yelp
Size & Amenities: 4 Out of 5 Smaller than I expected for two people, but it was good enough for our two days and one night. I loved the upgraded features of the room: flat screen tv, rainfall shower head, great vanity sink, and of course the AC to beat Boston's June humidity. Location: 5 Out of 5 Fantastic location in a vibrant part of town. A few minutes from Chinatown, Boston Commons, Tufts Medical Center, and historical parts of the Freedom Trail. Location is somewhat confusing at first, but no biggie. Service: 5 out of 5 Kind and swift. Thankfully they took in and held onto our bags. We arrived in the morning and easy check in process-- less lugging of stuff and more time for shenanigans. Overall: 4.5 Out of 5 No doubt we'll be back!

Yelp
If you're just looking for a room to stay and enjoy Boston, this is the place. No frills but clean, small, comfortable, and unique rooms. Helpful staff at check-in who gave us plenty of insider tips. I'd stay here again.

Kx B.

Yelp
Who is this for: 1.) Working professionals in Boston for a 1-3 day work trip/Convention Hotel is located in a central location, within a 5 min walking distance to the orange line (Tufts Medical) and 10 min walk to the red line (Boylston). Private rooms are small (twin bedrooms don't even have a night table). So this place is an excellent place to relax once the day is done. 2.) Young adults looking for simple and affordable accommodation with a fantastic location. This hotel has a "hostel" portion that can work with young adults on a budget traveling with a group. Individuals traveling alone would find the twin rooms a steal (which can go as low as USD 75/night in the winter w/o tax). 3.) Travelers who are okay with walking Because it's in the center of Boston, using a car will be a HUGE mistake. It will give you a headache. Parking is going to be nearly impossible. You will be traveling on foot A LOT. 4. If you can fall asleep to the sound of the TV, then you would be OK with this hotel. Possible group who might need to reconsider this hotel 1.) Families with kids The rooms in this hotel are too small and could feel cramped, especially if traveling with small, active children. If you want to "save," know you get what you pay for. 2.) Anyone foolish that believes they will get a 5-star hotel experience at a 2-star hotel The hotel advertises itself as an affordable 2-star hotel with no frills. Their central objective is to provide hotel-like accommodations but at a reasonable price. If you want more luxury, look into nearby hotels like the "M" or "Moxy" next door. 3.) A light sleeper who doesn't wear earplugs This is nothing personal for anyone that's a light sleeper. This accommodation is not good for anyone sensitive to noise. This is an old brick building. The walls are thin, there are cars honking, and you can sometimes hear muffles of people talking. Final opinion: I like this hotel and don't have any qualms about it. It's cheap, in a central location, the AC works, hot water in the shower, and the rooms are acceptably clean (not clean, just enough that I won't feel cringed lying down). I have stayed at this hotel numerous times for work ( once a month for the last year). I have even stayed in the dreaded "first floor" rooms that many reviewers mentioned here ( which are noisy due to the busy foot traffic in the lobby). I give it a solid four stars since the hotel stays true to its offers.

Yelp
Whoever is working front desk here is rude and unprofessional. You guys are a terrible business and won't last that long. All I'm going to say is that I stopped by tonight and whoever was working tonight was really rude and it was young man and he was really mean and on his phone the entire duration and had an extremely bad attitude. If you guys want to have people's business maybe hire better people

Yelp
i felt compelled to to write this review as the recent reviews left me nervous to stay here. But the other hotels in the area were close to double the price. Often people will write reviews when they have an axe to grind, and I was hoping this was the case. And fortunately it was :-) I stayed for four nights in a queen bed room with en suite bathroom on the second floor. The customer service was excellent. From check-in to check out (they let me store bags till 9pm) it was a seamless and friendly exchange. The room was on the smaller size (but definitely not a closet), clean, and the Air Con blew cold. The shower poured hot. You could hear doors closing. Murmurs. But that's like a lot of hotels. Lots of friendly europeans. Free coffee, espresso, tea in the lobby. I would say that the mattress was a bit old but this wouldn't stop me from recommending the hotel. The location makes it walkable to all the major sites and is great choice for travelers looking for a great value. Thank you to the staff at the Found!

Madeline W.

Yelp
We walked in, commented on how cute the hotel was, how good it smelled, we checked in and then looked at the room......After asking if there was a different room because the one we were being given one that was 3 feet from the lobby front door and my husband is VERY light sleeper, the manager came out after about 5 minutes and was VERY aggressive in his manner telling us to go somewhere else, that we were not welcome there!!!! We were in SHOCK/STUNNED!!!!! All we had done was ask if there was an option for a different room. We asked nicely, kindly, and appropriately. He told us to leave and find something else. He told us that he would not give us a refund because it was a 3rd party purchase. After a few minutes of being super shocked to a point of immobility/that we DID NOT KNOW WHY he was so angry at us?????, I began to film the interactions. because I felt that this was 1. an unsafe situation, and 2. at least needed to go to the admin. of the Hotel. When he realized I was filming, his demeanor changed to one of more of an appropriate approach for the hospitality business. He then offered us a refund. By this time, I felt unsafe staying there; that perhaps our room and belongings would be in jeopardy, so I finally insisted to my husband that we leave. When I pointed out to him how his demeanor had changed because I was filming, he then threatened me with the police . After that he threatened me with the police several times for filming the interactions!!! I was filming for our own safety. I have stayed in NUMEROUS rooms across the country. This is a first to be asked to leave and then get threatened by the police. Shocking!!!!!!

Yelp
We just spent 2 nights at this hotel, and while everything was fine with my room, I was really unhappy with an exchange I witnessed between the front desk manager and a guest. The guest was requesting that someone vacuum around the bed, it was very dirty upon arrival. Everything else was fine, but could someone please vacuum this one area of the room? The man at the desk refused. Repeatedly. This was on Monday May 13. The lady at the desk the day before was super nice and so was the man on Saturday, but this guy was very abrupt and inflexible with the guest. And I simply couldn't believe he was refusing together a gross carpet taken care of. It would have taken 10 minutes for someone to fix it. I know this place is "no frills" but basic cleanliness shouldn't be a frill.

Yelp
I booked a solo weekend stay here via Hotels.com and was not disappointed. I stayed in a room to myself with a full-sized bed, and while the rooms are certainly small it was enough space for one person who just needs a place to sleep for the night. Everything in my room was totally clean. The room itself fit a wardrobe, a small desk, and a decently sized bathroom with full shower, sink, and toilet. Bed was against the wall and the room is essentially the width of a full-sized-bed's length. The hotel is no-frills which I actually didn't mind. The clientele you pass in the halls are more diverse than you'd find at a Hyatt obviously, but I had no issues with safety or security. The elevator is pretty tiny but there's an open staircase right next to it, so I opted for that route. Overall - small space, but clean and inexpensive! For two nights while traveling alone, it was exactly what I needed.

Yelp
MOUSE IN THE ROOM. Hair on the comforter. Minimal hot water in the shower/sink. No emergency line to address urgent issues such as there being a mouse in the room. This is, hands down, the worst stay I've had in my experience in North America, Europe, and East Asia. RUN, look elsewhere to stay in Boston NOW. Stay for the tea below, if you'd like. We checked in on a Friday. Saturday night (going into Sunday) 1:30am, bf and I were getting ready to turn off the light when he saw the flurry dashing across the small room from the coat closet into the small gap between the wall and the bed. We were livid. We called the front desk and was told that the place was booked full for the night so there is no alternative room for us to move to, and any further discussion would have to wait for 7am when the manager gets here. Mice carry all sorts of infectious disease and at this point, we don't even feel safe in this building knowing there may be creatures living in the walls. After calling 4 hotels, I was able to find a place with a clean room for us to check in at at 3am and stay for the night at the standard rate. I sent a message through their website to explain the situation and requesting for a refund of our stay, at the minimum. I'm still waiting to hear back and will update this review with any further communication we have with this facility (yes I'm refusing to call this place a hotel). If you've read it this far, I wish you a more pleasant stay in Boston than us - it's truly a beautiful city otherwise.

Yelp
I gave one star because the front desk guy was nice, though overall unhelpful. The hotel is a hostel. And it should be marketed that way. It was the loudest "hotel" I have ever been in, we ended up leaving at 2AM because of the noise, after complaining about it, to which the concierge said "oh okay I'll check on it but it might just be the elevator, I gotta go." We called the next day to get a refund, the manager I spoke with gave me a measly "oh sorry about that, what do you want?" I wanted a refund. They gave me 10% back because they were "unable to give me a refund" Such bullshit and not worth your time or money. This is the worst review I've ever left a place.

Yelp
Staff was literally THE BEST! They are the reason I would want to stay again! The room itself was nice and clean besides random stains on the sheets and the fact that I could hear everyone around me. Great place to stay for a few nights! Cant beat the price!

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel in early March 2024. Kendall greeted us when we arrived and was incredible to work with as we were very tired from flight delays. I can tell you, I will definitely stay at this hotel the next time I travel to Boston, if for nothing else than the amazing customer service

Yelp
I stayed here for 3 days over the weekend with my boyfriend. The room we got (210) was super small with just a full bed, tv, small closet, bathroom to the right immediately after you open the front door to your room and computer desk. It was very cute and comfortable for us since we only used it there to sleep so we didn't need much. The location is excellent. We were walking distance to bars, restaurants, parks and Chinatown! Parking is across the hotel, if you validate it after you stay it becomes $26 per night compared to $42 I think if you don't validate it. No vending machines, pool or gym in hotel. It really is small but comfy in a great location!

Yelp
This was a pretty terrible experience. My husband and I arrived late at night (which was indicated on our reservation) and after a rather long check-in process, were given a key to our room. We headed upstairs to find that the room had only a single twin bed. We drug our luggage back downstairs to let the young man at the front desk know that we had reserved a queen (also on our reservation and, one would think, obvious based on the fact that we were two people). He was very apologetic and spent the next 20 minutes looking through the computer system to try to find us an alternate room. Finally, he admitted that there had been an error in the reservation system and they did not have a queen room for us. He apologized again and assured us that the reservation manager, who would be there the next morning, would issue us a large refund so that we would 'pay $100 at most, and likely nothing.' Exhausted from a day of travel and in an unfamiliar city, we decided to make the twin bed work and snuggled (uncomfortably) for the night. Upon check out the next morning, we spoke to the supposed reservation manager, who told us she also was not able to approve any discount further than the $40 rate difference between a queen and a twin room, and that only her manager could approve anything additional. He, conveniently, was not available, so she encouraged us to email him, and 'cc her to make sure he got the message. I sent a long, polite email explaining the situation, and have gotten zero response or update to my charges. I will say that the staff I interacted with were polite and tried to be helpful, but seem to work for a manager who puts them into tough situations and apparently doesn't care about customer satisfaction. We cannot recommend and will not be back.

Yelp
For 90 bucks a night you too can stay in a shoebox with a mediocre twin bed, a confounding lack of other surfaces, mysterious loud buzzing, extremely slow hot water, a thermostat that neither holds the temp set nor adjusts to the temp itvsets itself, and a facade that makes it look super hip and modern! And seriously, I get the impression that Boston's establishments are out to out-weird one another, bit WHAT is the deal with the picture of a parking lot over the bed?? Is boring the new black? Nice touch with the vanity-light mirror though, folks; I almost didn't notice the cheap toilet paper and lack of evidence that the place had been sanitized. (Call me simple, but even if it's easy to fake, I like to see the little things like a sleeve on the remote ensuring me that it's been disinfected these days.) One star goes to the vanity mirror for the nice selfie and the location location location. The other two are because it's not a one star place. It's just meh. Pretty, but meh. The place is in downtown/little asia near The Boston Commons park which is beautiful. Not very close to a train stop if you're walking but not impossibly far. A word to the wise: If you're booking through Expedia be careful because there is a "sister" hostel to this "hotel" (which is likely a converted boarding house, now that I think about it.) I booked thinking I was getting a single occupancy room for around $50 but I ended up with a dorm bed. Ok. Sh*t happens. But the dorms are coed and that was the line for me. I was way too exhausted to find a new place and had to buy the stupid upgrade and I was pissed. Anyone would have been pissed. The staff was swift in charging me more money for the little diorama of a room, (suddenly the homonym room holds so much irony) but less than remarkable in their understanding of my desire not to bunk with strange men. Will not be returning.

Yelp
We stayed at the Found Hotel for a vacation in Boston for 2 nights/3 days. Although the rooms are only really the size of a large closet, they are remarkably clean and nice-looking. The bathroom is moderately small as well, but with a size-able and sleek shower, which provided clean shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. The Found is good for those traveling by themselves or with not many people who aren't looking to stay in the city for a long period of time. The complementary coffee bar, although only available in the morning, serves fine espresso and coffee, as well as good syrups and flavorings. The only thing that displeased me set aside from the size was the thin walling, especially on the first floor. It is hard to sleep at night when you can hear the conversations of those checking in or asking for directions at 2:00 in the morning, or even the hubbub of those outside. Set aside from this, the hotel is in the commons, making it easy to walk from here to almost anywhere in the common area of Boston. If you are traveling light with few people and wish to stay somewhere in the middle of the city, I would suggest you stay at the Found Hotel.

Yelp
The building has been there for ever and the main down side is the age of the hotel. Lots of creaks and groans, though all in all is very clean (you will not see mice or roaches at all). Best aspect is the staff. They are fantastic and went out of their way to make my stay more comfortable. Not only one employee either, everyone I interacted with was courteous and helpful.

Yelp
Check-in attendant was unfriendly and unhelpful when I asked about parking my car. "We're a hotel, and parking is not our problem" may seem like it's logical, but I need an experience of "ease and comfort" when I've paid you to be my "home away from home." There is $42 worth of a parking lot directly across the street, but that's almost as much as the hotel. I did find a spot right in front after I went to buy gas, and even though there were no other cars there at 5:30 AM, it looked like it was completely legal (Monday night is street cleaning/tow night). Why couldn't the attendant have just told me those few things when I called to ask, sitting out front in my car? Place wasn't busy - just takes a moment and some knowledge of your immediate surroundings. Maybe I expect too much, but isn't it just a common courtesy?

Yelp
Built in 1877 as the Sumner Hotel in the heart of the Theatre District, Found Hotel is one of the oldest continuously operated hotels in Boston's downtown area. It's 2 blocks from Boston Common. The carpet located throughout the hotel is old, dated, in particular the elevator. Smells musty like dirty socks. The carpet is probably as old as the hotel which is why they keep it. Even the room had odor of old mildewy socks. One thing did concern me. The smoke detector directly above my bed had 2 peepholes. I couldn't help but wonder if it was a hidden camera. I wouldn't stay at this hotel ever again. The place has the creepiest vibes mainly due to the creepy staff morning and night time.

Yelp
Found Hotel is in a great location, only a couple of blocks from Boston Common and Public Garden, as well as Chinatown and the theatre district. As mentioned in other reviews, rooms are on the small side, but we didn't spend much time in the room so that was not an issue. The room and the hotel in general was very clean, and there were no issues with the surrounding neighborhood. What elevates my rating is that the front desk staff really went above and beyond to get us in our room. We took a red eye flight from Seattle, and were pretty tired. They did an outstanding job getting us in early, and that was much appreciated. I was very happy with the price I paid, the location, and the hotel staff.

Yelp
Worst. Hotel. Flight delayed 6 times, so I called to let hotel know of my 6-7 hour delay. The gentleman said it'd be no problem. When I arrived at 6 am, the desk clerk said they had me down as a no show because I didn't call ahead. I showed them my call log and told them, "Yes, I did." They then told me, "Well, you have to be out of the room by 10 am." Like I didn't know that. The housekeeper knocked at 9 am to clean the room. Really run down in appearance. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Yelp
I'm not very fussy when it comes to accommodations. I would've given this place 3.5 stars if not for two major downfalls: the most important being NOISE. My private Queen room was within earshot of the front desk and I could hear every single spoken word of the front desk clerks and guests, and I heard the hotel front door open and close every single time. The front desk clerk had a 30 minute conversation with a guest at 2:30am that should've been had at a lower volume with consideration to sleeping guests. Second is that there are no hooks or closet of any kind in the room. I was in town for business and needed inexpensive and convenient accommodations. This would've otherwise done the trick if the noise was not so loud that I could only sleep 30-60 mins at a time. The second night I used my phone as a noise machine but had to turn the phone on full volume and set it next to my head in order to drown out the sound of the lobby. Staff was very polite, they validate your parking to pay half the rate at the garage across the street, hotel is clean and in a great location. Don't forget your earplugs or noise canceling headphones like I did, and be okay with hanging up clothes on the towel rack in the bathroom cause that's all you've got for an option. There was also no real window, just some opaque glass tiles above the bed that let in a small amount of light.

Yelp
Great location within walking distance to Boston Common and the Public Gardens. No frills, just a small Reception area for checking in and where there is a coffee machine for 24 hour coffee and tea availability. No breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very small, have NO drawers whatsoever, and a very small closet. Bathrooms are decent-sized, but the toilet is so close to the wall in front of it that, if you're 6' 2" like me, you'll have to sit on it sideways ... Water pressure from the shower is very weak. If you want your room serviced, you need to let the Front Desk know before 10:00 am. All in all, tolerable for 3 nights in Boston. The fact that staff are great helps a lot.

Yelp
After searching Boston hotels, we booked this hotel for 5 nights, based on location and price. Hotel is in an old building with lots of charm. Rooms are small, but perfect if you're going to be out all day and just need a nice place to sleep. General Manager, Sean, was a great guy with a wonderful personality. He went out of his way to make our stay a great one. Hotel validates parking for garage across the street from this hotel. Cost is $26, which is a bargain for Boston. You have to ask to have your room serviced, daily, if you want clean linens. There was an issue during our entire stay, but we brought it to the attention of the GM. He realizes this is an issue and he's trying to address it (Covid affected the hospitality industry in a huge way). Give this hotel a try - you will be pleasantly surprised!!!!

Yelp
If you're looking to spend the least amount possible, you're a deep sleeper, and you're going to be out early in the morning, this place is for you. Otherwise, spend the extra $20 on another hotel. It's before 8am. I'm still in bed at this hotel. I have some time before my alarm goes off. I've been up for almost an hour due to: *what sounds like a family reunion in the hallway, *a creaking noise coming from the bathroom when someone uses the plumbing in their room, and *the air conditioner making an intense buzzing sound every few hours for about a minute. The only thing soothing is the sound of the wind and the city coming in through the broken and unlockable ground floor window that is at the end of an alley where people congregate to smoke. I've stayed in much worse hotels. This is cleaner than those places, but the room is smaller and there's a lack of a real door on the bathroom. This would have been a one star review if I hadn't experienced worse elsewhere.

Yelp
It's all I needed and expected it to be.. my flight was cancelled and I needed a place to crash. I found this on the hotel tonight app and booked it for a lower price than the one quoted over the phone. The room was bare knuckles tiny, about the floor space of three queen beds, no door to the bathroom, which is all suitable for a solo traveler. I'd stay here again under the same circumstances. The room was comfortable and most importantly clean, I had my own thermostat to control, the tv was good. Enjoy your stay.

Yelp
I found this hotel as a last resort of availability over Labor Day weekend. First off, it is in an unsafe area. Second, upon leaving returning to my room, I noticed my door was still wide open and ajar - the carpet was keeping it open, leaving all my valuables vulnerable to being stolen by the 20+ 21 year olds partying on my floor. It is on the roxbury line and a few blocks from any actual night life which can be extremely dangerous at certain times. Aaron Hernandez murdered two people just a street away. Then upon looking at my receipt, I noticed a 100$ charge, I called to inquire because I did nothing but sleep and shower. Because I am a medical marijuana patient, and had marijuana in my bag, not any burned marijuana, they charged my card. Marijuana is legal like alcohol for the general public, and specifically a prescribed medication to myself. I will be weighing legal options in the meantime and will never stay here again. Do not stay here whether you're young or old if this is the way they will treat their customers.

Yelp
This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was a great experience! Check-in was easy and painless. The room was compact (4-bed mixed dorm), but very clean and updated. I loved that there were HUGE lockers to secure my things and that I didn't have to bring my own lock since there was a keypad on the front of the locker. The bathroom was modern and cute, however, I do wish the toilet was separate from the shower, for obvious reasons. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well due to the privacy curtains, which kept the light and prying eyes out of my space. I also appreciated that the front desk allowed me to check my bags for the day so I could explore Boston. I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
A clean room, nice staff. New TV, redesigned rooms, nice shower head. Free WiFi. Good enough for one on a short trip, but leaves a lot to be desired. Room was tiny. Teeny tiny. 300 square feet including the bathroom. MAYBE. My back is to the door in the pic. Mine had a nice view, though. No coffee maker in the room, so I went down five floors to the continental breakfast. The basement had keurigs, prepackaged pastries and granola bars, and green bananas. They were in the middle of construction on the lower floors. I found myself amid the dust from dry wall slamming onto a piece of equipment. I have a knack for picking weird hotels. This was a nice one to add to the collection. I would stay again if it were much cheaper.

Yelp
Giving it four stars because my rooms was clean and weirdly up to date! Which would throw you off if you look at the check in counter. The place is under renovation but don't let it keep you from staying in a room. (I almost walked out when I walked in) The rooms are great, the front entrance not so much. The continental breakfast is free but there isn't much. Another bonus is the cheap rate. Probably the cheapest rate in downtown Boston.

Samantha M.

Yelp
Not much to look at, but if you are looking for a comfortable, clean, relatively inexpensive place to lay your head, and a warm shower this is the place to stay. In a great location with a parking garage across the street and walking distance to theaters, Boston Common, and Beacon Hill. This will be a top contender for future stays in Boston.

Yelp
CONS: -Tiny room. Good for 1 person only -No lobby, so no place to go & sit if you don't want to sit in your room because... -... no desk or chair in room -There's no place to sit & eat breakfast in the breakfast room. . It's just get your food & go, which is bad because there's no desk/table in your room. -there's shampoo but no conditioner -shower water isn't the strongest -the lighting SUCKS. One light in the hallway & 2 small ones above the bed PRO: -good location -recently updated -clean

Chetan B.

Yelp
This place is awful. No window, the room is the size of a dorm room, at best. The shower is nice, but other than that, it's a complete dump. Space between the bed and wall has probably 2 years worth of dust and dirt on the carpet. I chose this place because it was downtown and only $220/night as opposed to $260 most other places. It's worth the extra money to go somewhere else, trust me!! I wish I had. Gentleman working the front desk was kind, so that's the single star. One last thing--the bed. Mattress might've cost $50? And a single sheet with a blanket on top that is so thin, I can't tell the difference between the two. Not an exaggeration. It. Is. Ridiculous.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Giving this place 2 stars because of the location and ok price, but that's where everything stops. The room would get to 77 degrees and the thermostat never stayed on. Super confusing and the fav made loud noises as well. Then, the bathroom was full of hair everywhere and not clean at all. The bedroom is tiny. But, the absolute worst part is the fact that you can hear everything from above, below, in the hallway, everything. I was woken up many times throughout our 3 night stay to people coming home, leaving in the morning, construction in the hotel, the elevator, people flushing their toilets. TLDR; this place is not worth the location and money, find somewhere else that you will actually get some sleep at.

Yelp
Like most people I read the mixed reviews before booking my stay at the Found Hotel and I decided to take my chances. I only had to spend on night at this hotel since I was in the city for business. Yes this hotel is old and I wish that they had kept some of the older features in the room as opposed to trying to update it with strange décor but whatever, its was just a place to sleep for me. I had to park in the garage around the corner but at least I knew that my car was safe and would not be snowed on over night. A+ on location - I was able to walk back to Chinatown for dinner and called a quick Uber to hit up Harpoon beforehand which was only about $6. Don't stay here if you'd looking for luxury but do stay here if you're looking for a good location to go out for dinner and safety.

Yelp
It was one of the worst days of our lives to go to the Found Hotel Boston and it completely ruined our vacation memories. Wish we had paid more attention to the "poor" and "terrible" reviews on the hotel and not just gone with it because of the central location. We are very extensively travelled people who have been to over 60 countries and have never in our lives experienced something like this or can even imagine this can happen. We checked into the hotel late evening and were given a room which had one bed (literally 8 ft by 10 ft room or prison cell, with stained/unchanged linen and a 6 by 6 toilet, no place to keep luggage or even stretch beyond the bed) while we had paid for 2 people with double bed at 300 USD per night. When we reported this to the property and showed pictures of what we had booked, their staff (who themselves were 6 ft tall) "ordered" he and his fiance slept on similar bed at home and it could accomodate 2 adults and it was absolutely fine as we had to adjust in families. We were shocked that after paying them 600 usd we got a single bed which was different from pictures/description on the booking and we were forced to believe that 2 people can easily fit into 1 bed alluding to how economically developing families adjusted in their lives - really at 300 USD per night you get a room similar to one in a prison? While we kept trying to show them what we had booked and get our correct entitlement, their front desk was exceptionally rude and told us they can't do much and also that they were only trainees and someone called "Peter" took the decisions. After much much pushing we asked them to make us speak to their GM who was apparently not there. This guy is the worst guy on this planet and should not even be in the hospitality industry remotely or even be working in any thing close to service industry. He had no basic etiquette and told us they had no double room as they were sold out for that night and we should leave the property at 7:30 PM in the night with our kids and find alternate place. It was the rudest conversation and we went back and found some more pictures of the room we were allotted (actually a single room for 1 person) and went back to show it to the front office. The lady there kept us waiting for 30 minutes even though it was late evening and we wanted to get our kids dinner and had already spent 60 minutes on this escalation. She said we could leave the hotel if two people were struggling to fit into a single bed. We decided to talk to our booking agent who kept calling hotel staff and they refused to come on phone or return their calls despite our reminders. At 11:30 PM their GM called and threatened us - "come down to the lobby in 10 seconds or else" and then hung up. We called back and were told the same thing - come down in 10 secs or else - without saying anything and banging the handset on us. As someone traveling with kids alone, we got so scared that we called the police helpline to take their advice on this midnight call from the GM and the threat. Without our behest and to our surprise, the police arrived in 5 minutes (while we were still on the phone with them) and spoke to the property and we were assured that the hotel will be spoken to on this and an action will be taken. We tried going back to bed but were woken up with a loud bang ok ther door. At around 1am in the night, we were shocked when the cops turned up again and told us that the hotel wanted us to leave as we were creating problems ( with our booking agent persistently calling them since 5 hours to help us get our correct entitlement). We were in utter shock and could not even fathom what had just happened. They said the hotel was within their right to evict someone and complain. At 2 am in the night we left the property to go and find another hotel late in the night with young kids! However, thanks to our premium status in one of the hotel loyalty programs we were able to get a room for that night where we checked in at 2 45 am! This was a living nightmare for all of us and our kids refused to even leave the room the next day and just wanted to go back and end the vacation. The staff in the Found Hotel was exceptionally rude, discriminatory, dishonest, callous and pathetic - how can such people even dream of being in the hospitality industry? Besides that, the hotel was falling apart and the rooms are tiny, dirty, uncomfortable and dingy. They keep justifying that they are centrally located and cheaper - however at USD 300 per night you can get a Hilton or the Park Plaza next door which are 4 star hotels and not a 2 star like this place. The staff of this property are unsafe and please stay away from this place even if they pay you to stay there. We wish we had read through the reviews and taken them seriously - sometimes you think the reviewers must be too complaining or have had issies to have exp this. But when we experienced this ourselves - something we could not even imagine can eve
