Foundation Casa de Jorge Amado

If you’re a literature lover, this is a must-see. The museum offers a beautiful journey through Jorge Amado’s life and writings, set in a charming house right in the heart of Pelourinho. It’s a pity that all the exhibits are only in Portuguese, considering how much Jorge Amado traveled and how beloved he was around the world. Still, it’s a lovely and inspiring visit. The museum also has a great view of the city below.

Beautiful house full of art and history. Totally recommend!

One of the best museums in Pelourinho. The history inside and art are beautiful. There is a small Cafe but one of the best things is the gift shop where you can buy reproductions of much of the art. A recent addition is the top floor that overlooks the city.

CLOSED even though their own WEBSITE and BUILDING SIGN say it should be open!!! HAVE SOMEONE FIX THIS!!! What a joke... this is a major tourist attraction and you give your entire city a very bad name and reputation...

A great collection of pottery. It was fantastic to have an understanding of the importance of Jorge Amado. It’s free on Wednesday.
