Fountain of the Fallen Angel

The fountain wasn't flowing, but the sculpted gremlins were awesome. I want a collection of stuffed animals!

Surprisingly beautiful. One of the most dramatic fountains I've seen. It makes an impression for sure.

The Fuente del Ángel Caído in Retiro Park is a striking and unique fountain featuring a dramatic sculpture of Lucifer. It stands out for its intricate details and the powerful symbolism behind it, making it a fascinating and thought-provoking piece of art.

Maybe the only statue of the Fallen Angel in the world, erected at the point of 666 m over the sea level.

Located in El Retiro park towards the south of the park. The monument was created in 1877 by Ricardo Bellver, Franciso Jareño, and Alarcón Bronce. The monument is quite thought-provoking and action packed as well for a monument and is quite tall as well standing at 2,65 meters in height. The monument is also near the ‘La Rosaleda’ garden and also other monuments as well.

The fontain is a beautiful statue in the very big parc El Retiro. Easy to go there by the entrance near Los Ninos hospital.

Inside Retiro Park is this curious statue of the Fallen Angle of all figures. The statue takes it's inspiration from Paradise Lost depicting the literal moment of Lucifer's expulsion from the garden of Eden, his anguish evident on his face. The statue sits atop a pedestal in the centre of a fountain. At the base of the pedestal are gargoyles and demons spouting water from their mouths hence the alternative name of Fountain of the Fallen Angel.

Stumbled upon Lucifer as the sun was setting and bats were flying all around it. Very interesting!
