Fountainside Hotel Hobart

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with this hotel. Excellent location, comfortable beds and the softest towels. Plus the cheapest mini bar we have come across in Australia. The best place to stay to see Hobart and free parking right in the city. We would recommend to everyone.

Great room on the 7th floor. Double glazing is really good - we get a nice view over the roundabout without having loud traffic noise. Nicely appointed room. Breakfast is very basic but we expected as much for the cheap price (and would rather this, than an extravagant $20+ buffet). Really friendly service when we checked in. Parking also really convenient.

This is a champagne hotel on a beer budget. Beautifully appointed rooms. Clean and spacious. Well priced meals, well stocked mini bar at reception at affordable prices. Brilliant for kids. Large bathroom with decadent toiletries. Professional, friendly staff.

It's a bit weird, the staff at this hotel had greater service and manners than the manager. The accommodation and restaurant prices are amazing value, however the buffet breakfast left nothing to be imagined and is not worth the $11.80 you pay for it. My room and bedroom were massive which was awesome. Overall I a good experience, I enjoyed it. I would stay here again

We have had a lovely time at the Fountainside. Our room was well laid out, the bed comfortable and the bathroom wheelchair friendly even though not needed for us. The service is very friendly. We highly recommend eating at the restaurant. Judy and her colleagues are extremely helpful and friendly and the food as well as beverages are reasonably priced and delicious.

After booking in last minute late on a Sunday night due to my mothers medical emergency I could not have found a more welcoming hotel with kinder, more considerate staff. They were simply fantastic including the kitchen staff who cooked an amazing dinner for my father and I just before kitchen closing time on Monday night. Breakfast was a nice buffet that met expectations. The rooms were lovely, clean, comfortable with thoughtful little inclusions like a kettle with tea and coffee facilities, an iron and ironing board. Heavy drapes and individually controlled air conditioning made the rooms very comfortable to be in and the king bed was very comfortable. It was very affordable on the hospital rate and I would highly recommend it, particularly if you have a loved one in the Royal Hobart Hospital as it's just a two minute walk away.

Stayed for one night on the top floor in a recently refurbished room and loved it. By far the best price-performance in our one-month tour of Australia. Room very spacious, modern and comfortable, buffet breakfast just basic but unbeatable price, wonderful location within walking distance to everywhere. Just great. Would definitely return.

Staying in the apartment unit, it was very clean and modern. Nice rooms, all facilities. Unfortunately no air-conditioning which meant the third floor could get quite warm on sunny days. Great location, easy walking distance to the city and the water front. Being so central means you enjoy all that Hobart has.
