My husband and I spent a lovely weekend at Four Ninety. The backyard is an inviting oasis with the pond, hot tub, fire pit, and whimsical touches. Surrounded by thoughtful and beautiful plantings - we would have loved to spend more time enjoying that space if we'd had more days. We stayed in the 'Garden Room' which is located inside the main house. Our king size bed was beautiful and amazingly comfortable! I slept like a baby. Really appreciate the thoughtful touches such as the glass decanter of fresh water (with lemon slices) that was left for us in our mini fridge, and the pretty glassware supplied..Susan is an exceptional host - always offering helpful suggestions when a recommendation on dining or sightseeing is needed. And the breakfasts are 5 Star! Its nice to be offered several choices and it was delicous and presented beautifully. Thanks for a great weekend Susan!

This place is amazing 😍. Beautiful outdoors and indoors, 5min walking distance to Gull Lake Park for the Tall Pines Music Festival I attended 🎶🤘🏽🎵 Yeah!!! What a wonderful weekend... Susan you are the most gracious hostess, the place has a family friendly feel and the breakfasts were just divine. I highly recommend the cinnamon French toast. I felt so comfortable in the lavish King room with TV, AC, luxurious bathroom, all features 😃 were excellent. Thanks so much for your hospitality.

Husband and I had a wonderful 3 nights at Susan's place. We were there for a very momentous occasion for one of our children. Susan is a friendly host and very helpful; she gave great suggestions for our time there and for navigating the charming towns surrounding Lake Muskoka. Her place is quaint and tidy with beautifully kept garden. She has a king bedroom inside where we stayed as well as a small cabin outside. Her home is a 2 minute walk to Gull Lake Rotary Park (a great place to relax and take in the lake views). Also, it is centrally located to navigating Gravenhurst and exploring the region. We spent lots of wonderful time dining and strolling the boardwalk at Muskoka Wharf. Highly recommend. The breakfast she made for us each morning was not only filling and delicious but beautifully presented. We were thankful for her sharing her home with us.

Yes, this is the place you want to stay in Gravenhurst. Whatever brings you by, the location is a short walk from the cool part of downtown. The home neighbors the short path that takes you to Gull Lake Rotary Park, home of the newly christened Tall Pines Art and Music fest. Plus, there is usually live music from the new barge in season. You can swim and enjoy the park just a one minute walk from 490 Muskoka. It's a beautiful home and Susan, Jeff and Tuck are super cool and kind. Favorite thing is the outdoor shower. I hit that every morning and -- have no fear -- it sports plenty of hot water and, thanks to Jeff's ingenuity, it's private and cozy. Susan's breakfast is really good. Like, really, really. The amenities and grounds are lovely and give the true cottage life feels. Rooms are scarce, though. Strong recommend for an A+ Bed and Breakfast experience.

We recently stayed at Four Ninety in Gravenhurst, Ontario, for our tenth wedding anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful experience. This charming bed and breakfast is a true gem. The house itself is lovely, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We were particularly impressed with the hot tub, which provided the perfect way to unwind and relax, and the comfortable bed in the main house. It was still springtime so we didn’t have the opportunity to stay in the cabin room, but that also looked like a great option. The location is adjacent to a park and lake, which made for a beautiful evening walk. ||Breakfast at Four Ninety was a highlight. We started each day with fresh fruit and granola, accompanied by freshly squeezed juice. The main course, whether an omelette or French toast, was delicious and perfectly prepared. It was evident that our host put great care and attention into every detail of the meal. ||Over the course of the weekend we managed to visit some excellent hiking trails around Muskoka topped off by a spectacular dinner at Crossroads in Rousseau and a night of live music at Sawdust City Brewery. ||We highly recommend Four Ninety to anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic getaway. It provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our anniversary.

We had the good fortune of being able to stay here for a couple of days while we were stranded in town during a snow squall. Susan is one of the kindest and most caring people we’ve ever met. The stay was absolutely fantastic and I can’t recommend her enough. If you are in the area and looking for a place to stay, Four Ninety should be your definitive choice! Plus she has the cutest little dog named Tuck who we grew quite fond of during our stay!

Susan and Jeff were awesome! They were attentive and available but not intrusive. The property is pristine and ideally located. We stayed in the cabin which gave us our own space and privacy. The room was charming, clean and held all we needed. The bed was superior and the windows and large wall fan made our sleep the best we've ever had away from home. Susan's breakfasts were generous and cooked with love. The outdoor shower was amazing and private, I can't say enough about it. Last and certainly not least, we cannot forget to mention our new furry friend, Tuck. Such a great dog! We really enjoyed our 4 night stay! Thank you Susan, Jeff and Tuck for everything! We will be back!

Yelp
The place is nice and clean, but the hosts are snobs. They literally are judgemental and bossy when you walk in. They act like they're above you and it is very evident. We were super uncomfortable the whole time we were there because of their mannerisms. We left without even having breakfast because of it. I would never go back and would never recommend going there unless you are very upper class which is apparently their type of guests. Very unwelcoming indeed. Disappointing.

Yelp
This was a not terrible stay - certainly it was very clean and the breakfast was very good. The room we had was quite small - called a garden suite yet no windows or doors opened to or even showed the garden - and I had trouble with the passive-aggressive feeling from the host, beginning with being instructed to remove our shoes. I feel like if you have a bed and breakfast, you shouldn't force people to take off their shoes (unless it's winter). Although there were nice things about it, I would not stay here again. There were a lot of rules and though not offensive in any way, the decor was very fussy.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of staying here on Aug. 22/15 with a friend on a girls' weekend in Muskoka! Our room was impeccably clean, with luxurious linens and a super comfy bed. Our hosts, Susan and Jeff, were fantastic and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, including accommodating a few special requests. And the breakfast -- so delicious!! I had Susan's amazing blueberry pancakes...so fluffy and scrumptious. Our starter was yogurt and granola, and the breakfast even came with a fresh homemade juice! So good. Also of note, my friend & I took the Ontario Northland bus to get to Gravenhurst and this B&B is perfectly situated in relation to the stop...about a 5 minute walk through the most beautiful little park (gorgeous tall pine trees and a beach). Couldn't have asked for a more perfect Muskoka experience right in the heart of town.
