You have to keep in mind that Juneau has 30,000 people in it. So this is the nicest hotel in town! The folks working the front desk are very helpful, but know that things in the hotel are limited. There is a breakfast, which is an extremely basic buffet - think holiday inn express - but even less. Rooms are heat-only, no AC, but have a window you can open and a fan. Our room had a fridge in it. So it’s really basic, but in the land of limited resources, it is the king!! Lots of the flight crews stay here, so you know its decent. And the location is right across from the port, so that is amazing!!!

Google
WARNING NO AIR CONDITIONING! For a major hotel chain, charging $400 per night, this is unacceptable. Had I known this, I would have booked elsewhere, however I was unaware prior to checking! The room is currently over 80 degrees, and the best we can get is a box fan… The hotel is in a great location, and the staff are friendly, but if you are visiting in the summer months and you require an air conditioned room to sleep, this is not it!

Our stay was less than ideal. First the shampoo and body soap dispensers were empty upon check-in. Apparently, housekeeping didn't check when they clean the room between guests. We were told they would be refilled. They were not. The main issue with our stay was the lack of elite benefits. I am a lifetime Platinum member. At check-in, I opted for the breakfast option. The front desk agent didn't know what I was talking about and only offered points. I informed her that breakfast was an option. She said for me to take it up with the front desk agent the next morning. The next morning the front desk agent gave me the breakfast voucher but commented why the front desk agent from last night didn't do it. The following morning, when we asked for the breakfast voucher, we were told that it was one voucher per stay. I informed the front desk agent that the terms and conditions say it is per night not per stay. She said no. I then asked to speak with her manager. She called the manager and handed me the phone. The manager said it was per stay or $50. I informed her that it was per night and that the $50 was only if I didn't get the amenity. She said she would be right down to "show me." When she got to the lobby, she greeted me by pointing to me and said in a rather loud voice "follow me." She directed me to the office where there was a chart on the wall. She pointed me to the line (which was highlighted) "it's per stay." I informed her the line she was pointing to clearly said "per night." She got more upset and told me, to follow her to the restaurant and informed the staff the we could have breakfast. She ended our interaction by saying she will be calling corporate. She was very rude in our interaction. That sort of ruined my day as I was quite shocked at her reaction and how she treated me. The fact that the line was highlighted makes me wonder if there were other times this issue was brought up. She also said that the restaurant was a third party. If that were the case, then why were there vouchers available. The next day, she happened to be working the front desk. When we asked for the breakfast voucher, she said "just tell the ladies it's fine for us to have breakfast." The ladies at breakfast didn’t take my word so someone else from the front desk had to come to the restaurant to give the okay. Later that morning, we asked for late check-out. We were denied because they said housekeeping leaves at 1pm and they need to clean the room before they leave. I've never been denied late checkout before. We weren’t even asking for 4pm late check-out. I’m not sure if this is an isolated incident, but it seems like elite benefits are a miss at this property. The attitude of the manager also was not professional.

People who we're in Front of us checking in we're yelling at the Front Desk. Grown adults acting rude, just what I don't want to listen to is some grumpy people taking out there problems in front of me. The room we checked into Daphne checked us into and was dirty and walked in on someone...Then went to the front desk nobody was there for over 20 minutes, got a new key for a clean room but a lower floor and on the second floor. There was no apology from the Front Desk or any offer for trying to make it right just here's the key and a sorry. Contacted the GM who replied back the same day, gave us free breakfast and moved our room to a higher floor. During the time at the hotel it was very warm in the rooms around 80 the whole time. I would stay here again but not in the middle of the summer due to the rooms being too hot.

Hmmm, not the greatest. Convenient location near town. Room not great although has been redecorated which is ok. Bathroom was not updated or refitted with just new paint added. Bathroom needed remodelling, open cupboards under sink, decorating rags in there, does not shut properly. Shower leaked, old manky tiles. Pillows were lumpy, bed too firm for my liking. Toilet got blocked easily, I had to plunge it myself (I'm not here to do your work!). Very tired building, not a lot of amenities. Breakfast in morning is extra $20 per person (I don't like that). Service non-existent. Room wasn't ready on time as stated from 3pm for check-in, had to wait in the lobby for a long time before I could go to the room after being very tired from travel. Unfortunately in Juneau there aren't a lot of options for accommodation elsewhere if you're looking for a hotel. I'm thinking perhaps a cheaper 2 star hotel or B&B might have been better value for money. No dinner service and restaurant is permanently closed at lunch and in the evening. Plenty of places around town to eat out (no help or thanks to Sheraton for that). Short stay here is probably best but expect to be disappointed given the hotel branding.

Google
Maggie - full on rude to staff and guests. Maybe she was having a bad day but the next day she never acknowledged one person in the lobby with multiple people interacting with other staff. Very outdated hotel in desperate need of a remodel. Not sure how they are maintaining their Marriott flag. It’s pretty bad. 204- drain clog in shower- the water filled the tub within 5 minutes of showering , mold on shower curtain. Beds are comfortable though. Location is great but that’s about all it has going for it

We flew in from Anchorage to Juneau. For the two of us, this hotel worked out great. The location couldn't have been better to walk to the shops/restaurants and to get to the meeting location for our excursions. So we did not need to rent a car...took a Lyft to/from the airport to save money and the Juneau area is very walkable. The docks can get busy during the day with up to five or six cruise ships docked at any one time. So it can get quite busy. The staff was very friendly (although they did not welcome us as Marriott Bonvoy members) and the concierge was available to help us when our helicopter tour was cancelled. They held our luggage so we could spend our last day touring the area before we got our Lyft to the airport in the evening. Overall the rooms were typical and roomy. Nothing special. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. We did not run into any issues during our stay. They have a small but comfortable lobby that we used when we were not out walking or on an excursion. Given all of the places to eat nearby, we did not eat at their breakfast buffet. We liked the Hangar on the Wharf restaurant. Had the best fish tacos at the Twisted Fish Company Alaskan Grill. Way too many jewelry stores where they invite you in as you are walking by claiming they have a free gift. Whale watching here was amazing. Saw about 20 whales doing what is called bubble net feeding. Incredible. Did the sea plane tour to the Taku Glacier Lodge...highly recommended.

Google
Hotel located in a convenient location but there is nothing else positive to say about the property. Our room lacked adequate lighting and heating, hotel breakfast was bad, no bar or lounge, and hotel staff seemed to lack any authority to manage or fix the problems at the property. Won't be back there until issues are fixed.

Yelp
I agree with most reviewers. I had very pleasant interactions with the staff; however, the hotel itself suffered a number of issues. Thankfully, the hotel is in a convenient location, and if your room is on the water side, you will have a beautiful view. The bed was comfortable, although the bed skirt was really dirty, and the gym was adequate. That may be where the goodness stops. There is no laundry onsite, but a local launderer will pick up and deliver your laundry the same day for a hefty fee. There is no breakfast onsite or restaurant anymore. For the greater part of my stay, there was no hot water and I visited during winter. I was moved to another room to rectify the situation, but it did not. When I did luck out and get hot water, it would only last a few minutes before cooling off. The second room's heater worked well but had no auto shut off. It would continuously run no matter what temp you set it to, until you manually turned it off. It's not great but not bad. I recommend if it's within your budget and you are trying to stay at a Marriott.

Yelp
The staff were all incredible and deserve 5-stars! However this hotel, especially for the prices they charge, is very "mid". It's fine. It's perfectly fine. The location is fantastic, you can walk to all the downtown goodies and even to the trailheads! There is just nothing remarkable about this hotel though. The rooms are just OK. The water pressure and temperature in the shower was just flat-out bad. Again, for $120, this would be 5-stars. But for $240? That's way too much. I would only come here if you're an absolute Marriott/Bonvoy points monster. (which...for better or worse...mostly worse...I am)
google avatar

Hillary P.

Yelp
Love the tea supply in the rooms. But really grossed out by the yellow stains all over the blanket.
google avatar

Stephen P.

Yelp
Not what I was expecting from a Marriott property... It was clearly built as a different hotel and was converted over to a FourPoints. The room is decent enough, very clean and the staff is super friendly. Biggest frustrations and reason for only three stars: 1. No airport shuttle and it was $35 after tip for a taxi. 2. The room has no air conditioning only heat? I'm on the 7th floor and the room was roasting at 74 degrees. The only option is to open the window to cool it down. I was up five or six nights opening and closing the window because it would get too hot and then too cold again. I'm glad I'm only here two nights and if/when I visit Juneau again, I'm not sure I'm going to stay here again.
google avatar

John F.

Yelp
Stayed here for five days in early October 2024. The hotel overall is pretty dated and in need of remodel. The location is pretty good as it's walking distance to just about everything in Downtown Juneau! I'd give it 2.7 stars.
google avatar

John 'Chris' C.

Yelp
Jessica made my day from the moment I checked in. She greeted me with a smile and friendly service that made my day a little bit brighter. The view out my window is amazing and the free breakfast for my Bonvoy status at the nearby Baranof was wonderful. Thank you!

Quinn J.

Yelp
Here it is November, cold and rainy and no hot water in the hotel. They moved us to an another room thinking that would solve it. Nope. Our 2nd room the heat doesn't work, and they had to bring us a freestanding heater. The staff has been more interested in their phones than about solving the issue. The generic response has been "someone's coming to fix it". The only redeeming feature of this hotel is its proximity to downtown. I will never stay here again.

Yelp
Main problem: No AC. Don't come when the weather is over 65. Room gets to an average of 80+ if you don't use the fans to blow the cool air in. Although, windows do not open adequately get enough air in. Good cleanliness of entire room. Great views. Windows and fans are a bit scuffed. Beds and sheets comfortable. Pillows are great. Bathroom accommodations great. Location is good. The fact that there is the Big Boss Seafood Boil a close 1min away elevates the location.
google avatar

Ian Y.

Yelp
Convenient location and maid service is nice. Rating is higher because Big Boss Seafood Boil is half a minute walk away. There's no AC so the rooms are constantly at 80 degrees.
google avatar

Yelp
It is the only Marriott in the area, so it is adequate if you are looking to use points or are otherwise committed to the Marriott ecosystem. However, adequate sums up at this hotel perfectly. Don't expect anything more. The rooms and the entire property is long overdue for an update. Everything feels beat up. There is no air-conditioning anywhere on the property. Someone told me this is the only four points in the country that does not have air-conditioning. If you are on a higher for room, this may be a problem because it rises and we struggled to strike a balance of finding a right temperature for the room by cracking the window open. This is also problematic if you are on the street side because of noise coming in from outside. I am a titanium elite member at Marriott and felt that was irrelevant. Despite being there during a slow time, I was told when I try to check in at 1 PM that no rooms were available. When I finally did get a room, it was in a bad location and when I tried to switch I was told no other rooms were available, even if I was willing to wait until later to check in. The sheets in my room we're not properly cleaned and needed to be switched. Staff did that and we didn't have any other problems, but we were not happy with the stay overall.

Yelp
No housekeeping, no ac, no restaurant No bueno ! Key to room doesn't work often - need to reprogram . Just not a high quality establishment

Cheree L.

Yelp
do not stay here!!!!!!!! it smells like sewer and I can't even breathe The supervisor is a bitch and so not customer service friendly A horrible way to start an Alaskan adventure !!!!!!!'

Desiree D.

Yelp
I had a great experience staying here. The staff is super accommodating. It is super close to all the shops in walking distance, and there are views of the water directly across I would highly recommend this hotel due to the vicinity and accommodations. Also their restaurant and bar is great and is onsite.

Yelp
I found this place because I kept walking by here and it looked nice (from the outside); trust me, it isn't. I was staying at another local hotel and cancelled my reservation. I thought that this place would be a step up. I was wrong. I checked into my hotel. The picture frames were broken, there was trash around the room and it looked as though they were remodeling the entire hotel (including my room) and had me stay in a room regardless of this. I felt as though I was staying in a place that wasn't completed and that they would be working on while I was there. The employee at the front desk informed me that they were doing work on the hotel and updating it but I could still stay there. It seemed very unsafe ... to stay there, as when I walked down the hallway, passed other rooms, and went to mine there were lots of materials laying around i.e. paint, mops, brushes, and tools. The hotel wasn't very nice either. And it wasn't a step up from the other local hotel I stayed at. I was hoping that this place would be nicer. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Yelp
Excellent location, excellent staff, nice restaurant in the hotel and parking available if you have a car. I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely stay again. The best thing of all was, hands down, the amazing views from my room. Some of the room views and a bit of Juneau can be seen here as well: https://youtu.be/PeU633Rqt4s
google avatar

Yelp
This hotel is amazing. The view from our room looks like a painting and is surreal. Staff were all friendly and awesome, and the attached sports bar is great.
google avatar

Yelp
Four Points employees did a great job hosting my college class over the course of a week. They have been understaffed so they were unable to clean our rooms each day but each employee I met was very kind and helpful.

John P.

Yelp
Don't waste your money on this hotel, I booked a water view room For an early December visit and when I checked in they put me on the Mountain side so I told them I had reservations for a water view they said they were full and could not move me. Strange since the place is empty and there was no way they had all the view rooms booked. Bought some cheese and goodies for the room and put them in the fridge the night I checked in and just went to have a yogurt for breakfast and the fridge isn't even plugged in so everything is bad, told the assistant manager and all she said is we're very sorry and offered some extra Marriott points and she'll speak with housekeeping but the cord on the fridge was still wrapped up so it was never plugged in. I don't collect points and never even addressed the problem of not getting the room I booked so if you want to stay in Juneau stay at the Best Western or Ramada or there's a great little place called Grandma's feather bed in which is a Best Western property and are a lot kinder there. I come to Juneau for business and on my future trips will spend my money elsewhere.

Yelp
Air travel in Alaska in the winter is an iffy proposition at best these days. On Friday November 8, 2019 I was on alaska Flight 75 from Seattle to Alaska and for the first time in 17 years after nearly a 100 flights, suddenly the pilot was not able to land in Juneau due to fog. What happened to the plane'r radar and other systems that made them suddenly unable to land in a fairly standard situation in Juneau, fog as thick as pea soup? When in the past they have landed in that and far worse? I live in a small town, that is a four hour ferry ride away from Juneau or you have to take a little puddle jumper air taxi that only travels on clear days. These days the ferry only travels once a week and clear days rarely happen in the winter. So this means I cannot now get home for another week. What threw salt in this wound and the real reason for the 1 star review. I had booked my overnight stay as I waited for the ferry on Saturday through the Alaska Airline concierge service a month ago when I made the plane ticket based on their prompting when I had purchased my plane ticket. Hotels in Alaska have every time in the past when there are weather related travel changes have cancelled and refunded any fees - but this time the Four Points by Sheraton did not allow a cancellation nor did they provide a refund. DO NOT use this service. Hotels in Alaska when you book with them directly routinely work with you when you have very typical weather related travel delays.

Yelp
Monopoly rents knowing it's Alaska in July but would expect better facility for that price. Recent stayed at Sofitel in Chicago for exactly same price Upgrade to junior suite 100 sq foot marble bath separate glass shower. Hérmes toiletries. Not asking for same in Alaska but for $350 at least make an effort.
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
Ah, Four Points. This one has seen some better days, but as the only Starwood in Juneau and thus the only place I could get rooms for free (a good thing, since the paid rate was pretty ridiculous and the points rate was very reasonable), it was what we went with. The rooms were fine - clean, comfy, all of that. No major complaints here. No A/C, which is not a big deal in Alaska, but we were there on a bit of a warm day, so I was happy there was a fan in the room. Bathroom...worked but could use a remodel. Rooms just feel pretty tired. Although I will say that the attached restaurant (which was where the included breakfast was served) was pretty good. So, there could be some improvement but, all in all...it was fine. Would I stay again? Sure...but to be honest, there isn't quite enough going on in Juneau to make me need to go back in the near future.

Yelp
Horrible hotel... one of the most expensive one and they don't have air conditioning... the excuse they don't need it. But the other hotel which is cheaper have them... poor management ... no customer service ... all u can see is electric fan all over .. Sheraton should take this property off their list... it's a shame ... DoNt waste ur Points and Money here !!! Stay Away!!!
google avatar

Jens G.

Yelp
Stayed here for an overnight prior joining one of our Cruise ships. It has all amenities needed, as I am in a hurry the bullet points - Clean both the room and bathroom - Bathtub/Shower combo in a small bathroom with hairdryer, soap and lotion (individual) shower gel/shampoo/conditioner in a dispenser - Bed linen is good and the use duvets instead of blankets - Blackout curtains - Fridge no mini bar - coffee maker in the room - Bottle of water free of charge - HD TV I think 40+ with cable TV - Free wifi - Close to the road in case you are sensible to noice you should ask for a room opposite the road - walking distance to town - Sports Bar in the hotel for BF/lunch and dinner Nothing special, but a good property for short stays (IMO)

Yelp
My family & I stayed here for a long weekend away from home. We had a clean, comfortable, waterfront room on the top floor. I'm a titanium member and received two free standard breakfast at the restaurant each day. The food was great and we had dinner and takeout pizza from the restaurant too. One night we walked one block to downtown and ate at salt restaurant. There are several small shops downtown including a drug store and a liquor store. A lot closes in the off season but we found plenty too do in the area. The glacier is a quick drive and perseverance trail isn't far from the hotel. I noticed many mentioned the hotel has no air conditioning. I wanted to mention that it isn't usually needed in the area. The coast is generally cool but there were a few record breaking temps this year. I noticed two fans in the room. I enjoyed this hotel and would come back in a heartbeat!

Lindsey P.

Yelp
This is a totally fine place to stay while in Juneau. Our room was nice, recently renovated - I highly recommend getting a water-facing room, it's very much worth the extra cost to have a nice view. The staff were friendly, but not super focused or proactive when it came to customer service, though I think that is more reflective of the general Juneau attitude.
google avatar

Jeremiah F.

Yelp
I stayed here March 11-15th, 2018 and although some of the renovations are nice they are missing the details. The bed was the worst part. I'm guessing the mattress is over 5 years old. The edges are about 4" lower than the middle and it's lumpy. The pad they put under the sheet is creased thick felt?? The sheets and pillows are fine, although they weren't changed once during my stay. Housekeeping forgot several items including towels, the shower rug, cups, and tea. The free SPG bottle of Aquafina is great when you get it, otherwise it's $3 at the front desk. I've been coming to this hotel for a dozen years and it's always been a 3 star place. The new restaurant is way better than the past few. Improve the housekeeping and mattresses and it could get to 4 stars.
google avatar

Karla M.

Yelp
Decent hotel the whole place is neat and clean, nice gym the "mountain view" kinda sucks specially when is foggy outside but is cheaper than the ocean view

Colleen H.

Yelp
The location is great. Some front desk people super, others eh. I should be happy they are working. Stayed there June 15-17, 2021, so before the cruise ships returned. Town is just starting to open up. No air which usually isn't a problem. We had glorious weather & air would have been nice. Rooms seemed clean, but definitely could use some sprucing! I agree with Sean B, adequate sums up the hotel. It could have been so much worse, wasn't awful, it just served the purpose. Again, location is great.
google avatar

Dana R.

Yelp
Such a wonderful place to stay in Juneau. I always stay at this hotel when I am in Juneau. This is a 3 star hotel and Alaska and one of the best hotels in town. If I can not get into this hotel, I stay at the Baranof
google avatar

Leslie H.

Yelp
I'm actually STILL dealing with this bill and my missing points almost 3 weeks after checking out. The hotel is in a great location and management is fantastic, but the front desk staff really managed to muck up our bill something awful. While I think (knock on wood), it's now straightened out, I'm still trying to get credit on my Marriott/Starwood account as those points didn't get applied - even the ones offered for skipping housekeeping, which we did. So I continue to fight with this hotel on this issue. Not a great experience overall.
google avatar

P S.

Yelp
Nice clean hotel, very friendly staff. Decent views of the water.
google avatar

Kerry H.

Yelp
No AC, which I get you typically don't need in Juneau BUT if its 85 degrees you need climate control. Also, the hot water doesn't exist. The locks close on the door from the inside so often the front desk has special tools. Solid two.

Yelp
Pros: The lobby is nice and the restaurant downstairs is decent. The rooms were clean. The sheets were fresh and seemed to be relatively new. Minor updates to bathroom. Nothing was unclean. The staff was young, but nice and seemed as helpful as they were capable of being. Cons: The rest of the hotel has had zero attention paid to it in a long time. Both of our rooms had very poor ventilation - the windows barely opened and there is no A/C (SE Alaska does in fact get warm in summer, especially when you are trying to sleep in a REALLY stuffy hotel room). They put a standing fan in one of the rooms but it was super cheap & rattled all night. Not a good night sleep. They have black out curtains (important when the sun is out until at least 10pm) but if you draw them closed you end up covering the tiny bit of open window you have for fresh air. So take your pick - air or darkness, you can't have both. Lastly we forgot a back pack on a chair in the restaurant by mistake and went back 20 mins later and it was gone. This is NOT the hotel's fault, of course. But it's weird that a restaurant with only 6-8 patrons at the time can not keep an eye out for stuff like that. The staff at the restaurant were less than friendly. All this said there aren't many hotels in Juneau and I'm sure there isn't much of a choice beyond this Sheraton. They might be aware of that...

Debasish M.

Yelp
Its a good hotel to stay in Juneau. Location is great; its close to good restaurants and other popular hiking trails. The rooms are clean and well maintained. However, I would not recommend using their Concierge service(Keli's Concierge and tours). I used it for booking a glacier and whale watching tour. They overcharged me in the name of convenience, credit card usage and other fees, though claimed otherwise . The agency conducting the glacier tour is just opposite to the hotel. Walk few steps, book directly at tour agency counter and save $$.

Yelp
In May 2018, my husband and I went of our honeymoon here and my dad gifted us our whole stay. My dad is a platinum member of Marriott (which is with this hotel) and said we should be treated as if he were there. That was far from what happened. Platinum members get a complimentary breakfast and management was a little hesitant to give us vouchers for the breakfasts. We also didnt get our room cleaned every day. They would clean the top floor first and since I am on my honeymoon we had the "do not disturb" sign on the door because once again; honeymoon, and they're supposed to come back later when it's down which didnt happen. I talked to the front desk and they mentioned that they had a large amount of check outs that day and couldn't get back to my room, which the time that would have been used to clean our room should have been the same time they finished early. They even mentioned that we shouldn't be getting the benefits of a platinum member because the member isnt with us.

Yelp
Nice hotel and great location. Rooms were clean and service was great. Best hotel in area. We had a water facing room.

Andy C.

Yelp
Hotel was nice. Bathrooms could use an update. Getting 4 stars because the girl that checked us in was very rude the whole week. Her name was Vanessa. She was very condescending and looked like she hated all of the guests every day we saw her. People would ask questions and she'd look at them and us like we were dumb...extremely abrasive and definitely not a good representation of the Sheraton brand. I'm a Starwood member that stays at Sheraton all over the world. Not pleased with how she treated your gues

Susan F.

Yelp
Although we like the Sheraton just fine, I don't usually take the time to write reviews unless I am REALLY, REALLY IMPRESSED AND APPRECIATIVE. So in this case, I am writing this review to give a shout out to Keli's Concierge & Tours which is located in the lobby of the hotel. (However, you could contact her no matter where you are staying.) We feel so lucky to have connected with Keli before we got to Juneau. She gave us so much valuable information to help us with our plans, and she has done so much for us during our stay. Keli knows the area and the best people so well. In addition to booking fabulous tours, she will give you great advice on dining and free places to go. She is truly interested in making sure that visitors enjoy and make the most of their Juneau visit. We have done so many things because Keli suggested them--things we would never have thought of doing, but things that proved to be such fun! 100%+++ recommendation of Keli, and so grateful for her expertise and genuine desire to help!

Yelp
It was frustrating that the front desk staff couldn't change my room to be further from the elevator as I requested, even though it was lightly booked. When asked why not, the front desk attendant gave a vague answer about the "system" being screwed up. I am very noise sensitive and did not want to be where I could easily hear the elevator. Otherwise this is a decent hotel.
