Feedback from a Platinum Elite
=========================
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in December 2025 for a quick trip to Universal. We spent one day at the original parks and one day at Epic Universe. Some feedback from our stay.
LOCATION
If you want to earn or use Marriott points in proximity to Universal Parks, this is a great < 1.5 mile locate. While probably walkable for the ambitious walker, the hotel has a set schedule of shuttles and it is also a super easy Uber ride. (In our analysis, we would likely return to onsite hotels for their proximity and convenience, but this is a great location for Marriott faithful.)
BREAKFAST BUFFET
The Breakfast Buffet is noticeably above average. The staff is attentive and friendly, at it was consistently the best breakfast buffet bacon I've seen in awhile.
BARE BONES
This is a fairly bare bones property geared for exhausted theme park goers who need a place to sleep. The pool pales in comparison to the resort-y properties with Loews on site who all feature elaborate pool options.
Our room was on 20th floor and we could see Hogwarts off in the distance. Despite that, we could hear pool noise and street noise (cars, ambulances, etc.) as if we were on the first floor of a motel. NOTE: Turning the AC to continuous fan greatly minimizes that.
CUSTOMER SERVICE CHALLENGES
We had a categorically awful king size bed. It was slanted so much on one side to be disorienting to the sleeper and requiring us to stick a pillow in the middle to keep from rolling into the other side. This causes an awful night sleep for the person on that side. We raised this with the front desk who promised "maintenance" would handle it.
Upon return from the park, NO ONE, had been in our room and we switched sleeping partner positions and the second family member experienced an equally challenging night sleep on the slanted bed.
Upon double checking with the front desk staff, there was a meager "well, we couldn't do anything, we could TRY to switch your room." This, also, didn't happen and we had a third trying night sleep. NO ONE should be sleeping on this bed. Most Marriott's would offer some points for the inconvenience and have done more to address the situation, but we received nothing for our hassles.
OVERALL
If the bed had been okay, this would get us 4/5 stars. With the bed situation, it pulls down to a 2.5 start situation as sleep is the hotel's primary deliverable which was a fail.
