Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, England

"Gracious English country house living as redefined at this Four Seasons has been achieved through the deft enlargement of a 17th century heritage-listed building overlooking a 250-acre estate dating back to the Domesday Book. The brand new wings built in the Georgian style merge quite harmoniously with the old brick stable buildings and garden walls and lend on authentic country views without such traditional discomforts as creaky plumbing and dog hairs on the sofas. Indeed the magnificently marbled bathrooms enclosed by French doors and the heated indoor/outdoor pool exist at a dazzling remove from historic British plumbing. Now you can swim outside even on wintry nights and be soothed and warmed by jets of massaging bubbles after a sauna, the steam room or one of the spa’s prized massages. The more traditional country house pursuits of horseback riding, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, golf, croquet, tennis and country walking and running are all for the choosing., or you can just settle back in the library in the original Manor House and enjoy the lovely views over a traditional cup of tea, or a brandy and cigar in the library bar. The 27,000-square-foot spa’s design includes exposed beams and slate showers. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Dogmersfield Park, Seasons has a market-driven contemporary menu."

Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire (Hampshire, UK) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"We all know more or less what a Four Seasons is, and most of us are at least familiar with the basic idea behind an English country house hotel. But put the two together and the result, the Four Seasons Hampshire, is something of a novelty, even, in some circles a controversy; these hotels tend to be private affairs, and the idea of a global luxury chain getting into the country-house game was met with some skepticism." - Tablet Hotels

Guys, I know I share a lot about my travels 🤭 but Four Seasons Hampshire truly blew me away. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience unfolded like a masterclass in understated luxury and heartfelt hospitality.||We were warmly welcomed by Wasiq, whose kindness instantly set the tone. Then came a lovely personal greeting from Mehdi, the wonderful Guest Relations Manager, who went above and beyond to make us feel special including a surprise upgrade to a beautiful Manor Room, complete with chocolate-covered strawberries from Emily. A perfect start that already said everything about the spirit of this hotel. ||The property itself is breathtaking surrounded by the rolling fields of Dogmersfield Park, where you could have Peaceful walks along the grounds, the sound of horses in the distance, and that fresh countryside air that makes you slow down and exhale.||The spa deserves a standing ovation — it’s not just a facility, it’s an experience. And Peter at reception was always so nice to us!||My personal musts:|– Afternoon Tea — a masterpiece served in the most elegant tea room. Every detail was exquisite, from the fine china to the flavor combinations. Trevor and Gulumser, thank you for making it such a warm and memorable experience.|– Dinner at Wild Carrot — where Chef Talha Barkin’s cauliflower steak was simply perfection. Elegant, creative, and full of flavor.|– And, of course, the cocktails — AJ and David, you’re legends. 🍸 Perfectly balanced, beautifully presented, and delivered with that unmistakable Four Seasons charm.||A massive thanks again to Mehdi for the exceptional attention and care throughout our stay. You truly have a wonderful team, and it shows in every interaction.||Hampshire is now officially in my Top 3 Four Seasons properties worldwide — and for good reason. The balance between countryside serenity and refined luxury here is unmatched. I left feeling recharged, inspired, and already counting the days until my return.||Visit my @book_the_room profile for more hotels Inspo!

My fiancée surprised me with a birthday stay at the Four Seasons Hampshire, and it was a truly special experience. The estate is absolutely stunning, and the rooms are beautifully appointed — the perfect blend of elegance and comfort. One of the highlights of our stay was the clay pigeon shooting experience. The gentleman who runs it is a truly heartwarming character — knowledgeable, kind, and full of wonderful stories. We had such a great time with him, and it was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. I also had a spa treatment with Nana, and I can't speak highly enough of her. I had the mud scrub, and she was so attentive, kind, and engaging. Her warmth made the experience even more enjoyable, and my skin felt incredibly soft and refreshed afterwards. We thoroughly enjoyed the food during our stay — some standout dishes included the chicken nuggets at the bar, the daal, the aubergine with tomato, and the pizza at the Italian restaurant. Each was delicious and clearly made with care. The only element that didn’t quite meet our expectations was the afternoon tea. While we were excited for it, we felt the presentation was underwhelming, the bread lacked freshness, and the scones were unfortunately quite hard. Given the overall quality of the hotel, this experience felt below standard and not reflective of the price point — definitely room for improvement here. That said, the service throughout was exceptional — warm, professional, and attentive from start to finish. Overall, a beautiful and memorable stay, and we’re already looking forward to returning

Wow, what an experience!||For the first time we stayed outside of London and were happy to enjoy this luxury Four Seasons property! This was our 15th stay in a FS the last 6 years and property number 13 we could get to know.||||Location 10/10||Fantastic, the minutes before you arrive by car you feel that something special will follow for the next days! When you see the FS in the Horizont, placed in a marvelous landscape you already get excited what will happen the next days.||The property is so huge and so beautiful, with several ponds, a small river where you can rent the properties own small boat, ||Cows and horses in walking distance through a beautiful landscape, perfect if you just want to relax and enjoy nature! ||With just 50 minutes from Heathrow a perfect weekend escape even if you are not living close!||||Rooms 10/10||Thanks to Little Emperors, a luxury travelling agency and our personal travel advisor Estefania Lagunas from Little Emperors (Estefania.myler@littleemperors.com) and the nice team of FS we got upgraded to an incredible Manor Room in the main building! ||Huge ceilings, fresh renovated with huge windows facing the inner garden, a stand alone nice bathtub and the incredible FS bed makes you not wanting to leave the room! Perfect British luxury and still a touch of Greg renovation and new colors are a perfect combination to enjoy your room!||||Activities 10/10||Some weeks ago when we booked we were not sure if we should better go again to London (after two fantastic experiences at FS Tower Bridge), but we were reached better!||The age Hampshire has so many activities that you could spend easily 5 nights here without getting bored! We did archery (either Tom, a great instructor and fun person) and loved it!||We could have done horse riding and claypideon shooting but unfortunately run out of time…. Fortunately we had time do the amazing teatime!||The SPA is huge, with a separate area for children and fix timings where children can use also the main Pool, which we liked,||The activities offers here are really unique and lots of fun!||||Restaurants and Food 9/10||We loved the Wild Carrot! Very good food and additionally to the main menu they offered during our stay a special Indian menu with 4 additional dishes and a fresh seafood menu!||They have a great wine selection and huge and tasty cocktail selection as well!||Very dish we ordered was tasty!||Service just perfect with great recommendations!||The bar, right close to the restaurant is incredible! Great bartenders that are experts in their jobs! We love des spending times there and trying their unique cocktails!||Breakfast is huge! We had a la cart and buffet breakfast inclusive due to little emperors, and loved it! A great buffet and huge a la cart menu and…. Free white and rose champagne every morning, real four seasons luxury style!||Why only 9 stars?||We felt, especially for dinner, there could be a separated area for families with children and we would have missed a second restaurant ((a friend told us the Italian restaurant that opens there depending on the season) if we would have stayed 2-3 more nights.||||Service 1000000/10||The difference of every luxury hotel and property ate the people! And FS Hampshire in between the other 12 properties we visited from FS (as long with properties of One and Only, Mandarin Oriental, St. Regis, etc) is just doing perfect!||I want to name several people who made our stay unbelievable! Thanks to all of you, we will see you spoke in Hampshire!||Wasiq: we were lucky to make check in with him, such a warm and nice welcome! Upon arrival we felt like being back home in family (even though it was our first stay here)||Mehdi: the guest relations manager presented himself shortly afterwards, a fantastic person! Managers like him make the difference! We met him several times around (mainly when we were drinking or eating 😅), alsways taking care about his guests. Great personality who makes you feel welcome during your compete stay!!! Hope to see him soon in Hampshire!||Swanand: our waited for the first dinner at Wild Carrot, great menu recommendations hat thanks for recommending the 20th year anniversary port wine!||Kadek: our waiter during our second dinner at Wild carrot, super attentive service and nice recommendations (Indian menu).||AJ and David from the bar: great combo! Nice people, we enjoyed talking to AJ and David is a pure mixology master! Great recommendations and cocktails!||Weil Liew (hopefully written correctly): the heart and soul of the breakfast! Such a lovely personality, taking care of everyone, brining us special dishes, you need people like him to make your guests feel welcome and at home!||Last but but least, Gulumser and Travor from the Teatime! A very unique and supplementary combination! It was fun and lovely having had two hours of teatime experience with you!||||Summary: everything is exceptional! The property, installations, SPA, food and especially the people who make this property something special worldwide!||Just own recommendation: don’t make the same mistake and book just 2 nights… I would recommend at least 4 nights here!

Our recent stay at the Four Seasons Hotel was an absolute delight. The warm greeting from the staff set a welcoming tone from the moment we arrived. The room was stunning. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was spotless, and the little touches—like a birthday welcome card, a colorful drawing on the mirror, and a delicious birthday cake—made us feel truly special. My dog especially loved the dog bed and toys provided. The hotel's amenities were top-notch. We spent a relaxing afternoon at the spa, which was clean and had a great atmosphere. The food in the restaurants was fantastic, consistently fresh and tasty. What truly set our experience apart was the service. Every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. A special thank you to the staff member, Man, for providing us with such helpful information and water. Overall, we had an unforgettable stay. The Four Seasons Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, and we highly recommend it for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable experience. We can't wait to return.

We recently returned from a 3 night stay at FS Hampshire for my birthday celebration. They offered us a 2 room upgrade at check in. I wasn't paying attention to the layout of our room and I should have requested a different room - this is my fault but wow, such a disappointment. Our room had a dormer and looked nothing like the room category listed online. It was a horribly odd shaped room. They absolutely should not sell this room as it's more like a storage area.||The hotel was at very low occupancy during our stay. The right thing to do would have been to offer us a suite. They did offer us a suite for more than $500 more per night but I was unwilling to pay this. Our total for our stay was $4900 (this includes two massages and also their hawk experience). Absolutely unwarranted rate for this room. ||We are frequent FS customers and spend thousands of dollars each year at their properties. FS is usually my go to brand when we travel (I have two more stays booked this year). This experience is lackluster. They don't pay attention to their loyal customers. I suspect if we owned a residence or maybe flew on their jets or did a boat cruise they might pay attention to us but maybe not. ||We came from London and at the hotel there, everyone knew our name - not the case at FS Hampshire. Service was also impeccable. My husband was quite ill during our stay and they moved us to a suite at no charge since we needed more room. ||On the positive side, food at Wild Carrot is quite good. Our massages were great (they do need to put wash cloths and hairbrushes in the spa). We also did a hawk walk which was fantastic. The grounds are beautiful.||There are many other great choices to stay in this part of the world. Next time we'll choose somewhere else.||Probably a manager will respond to this review with some platitudes. It's not enough considering our experience.

I really like this hotel. The décor is elegant, and the bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. The room is spacious and well maintained. I had slightly injured my hands before arriving, and the reception staff, along with the team who visited my room, were incredibly attentive—they checked my hands and kindly provided two ice packs, which were very helpful. Every staff member pays great attention to detail and shows genuine kindness.

I visited the Four Seasons for afternoon tea with two friends as part of my 40th birthday celebrations.|The hotel is beautiful, clean and immaculately kept. Gorgeous room in which to enjoy afternoon tea. All of the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and always on hand to refresh tea and condiments. Nothing was too much trouble. A big shout out to our waiter (I didn't catch his name) who even serenaded me with a lovely rendition of "happy birthday" - I can't say I've experienced this anywhere before but it was very lovely and made the trip even more memorable.

I've been fortunate to have stayed at a number of the Four Seasons properties. This is my favourite. Wonderful staff, great rooms, the grounds are stunning. The food at dinner was good but not great, although the afternoon tea more than makes up for it.

Yelp
I came here by myself for 3 nights, I have been to London so many times so thought I would try something new. I never left the property. I checked in and slept for a bit, coming in from Los Angeles I had a touch of jet lag. I went down to the bar for dinner and the staff was impeccable, they were all so friendly and attentive. I had a burger and a couple cocktails. Breakfast same impeccable service and so many options, my fave was the avo toast. Everyday I would walk around the property l, visit the stables, and enjoy the brisk air. I utilized the spa facilities, the pool and gym. I had room service as well and tea in the living room. Everything and everyone was first class. I never left for 3 days and by the end my mind was clear and I felt so rejuvenated. This property bring a special kind of peace. Def will be back.

Yelp
Went back again with my family 6 years later. This place is heaven on earth. Even better than before with the new renovations.

Yelp
Wowwowowwowow. What a stunning, unique place. I've stayed in many hotels, but this experience was so unique. If you aren't familiar, Hampshire is essentially the "English countryside." Perfect for families to getaway for the weekend and ride horses, enjoy nature, etc. This hotel was about an hour-long cab ride from Heathrow and definitely felt like I was in the middle of nowhere. But when I woke up and walked the grounds in the morning, that isolation and clean air was so beautiful and refreshing. I went to high tea by myself. Yep, made a reservation for one. And it was worth every penny.

Yelp
What an amazing experience. Located about 45 minutes from London Heathrow Airport in the English Countryside, this remote property is a dream location. Completely silent at night, this is the place to come get away and forget about all of the hustle and bustle of the city. I was able to enjoy the solitude of this property for a few days, and then quickly get to the city to enjoy what the city of London had to offer. The service was impeccable from the front desk to the hotel restaurant, and everywhere in between. I walked the grounds and was impressed with how quaint every area felt even though the property sat on many acres. After spending a week onsite I do, however, wish there was maybe one more restaurant option as I grew tired of eating the Wild Carrot by the end of the week. I hope to have the chance to return and enjoy again!

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic!!! There's not much I can say but: We could spend every vacation at this place. In addition, if you've kids and like high end hotels: This is it for you. It's almost as they take better care of kids than the adults. We've a 9 months old and our room had everything we needed for him plus items that made us speechless (diaper genie, free toys, etc. ). They've kids menus (for free) with great and freshly made items, a kid's buffet, and kids are simply welcome everywhere (adult only time at the pool: between 10-11 am and after 7pm). That said: I'd definitely go there without kids as well -- it's not that the place is overrun by kids but it simply is a comfortable environment for families and it certainly didn't make the experience a noisy one. So... great for couples, single people... just everyone. Spa is great. Food is great. Breakfast is nice. And the property simply is absolutely gorgeous. They've valet parking or self park. Another highlight was tea time (reserve ahead of time). Delicious. Reasonable. And great choices. All staff members were fantastic, very likable, approachable and they all enjoyed being there it felt like -- and here's a special shout-out to James (Asst Mgr of the Library Bar) who by himself is a reason for us to go back.

Yelp
This property is unique. A manor once used as a girls school filled with antiques and lush with flowers both inside and in the extensive gardens. Very child friendly... allowing them their own play areas and cottage with games. The service was outstanding, a special thanks to front desk manager Marek Abraham for going out of his way to find the book I had seen in the library, then gifting it to me, I love it. Also, food is varied and chefs are sensitive for those with allergies. Special thanks to George for obtaining the recipe for the gluten free raspberry muffins!!! Our breakfasts were spent surrounded by the greenery and flowers and can't recommend the buffet more highly for beauty and delicious variety. Why then four stars? The King of Bahrain decided to visit during our stay... between his security everywhere, parking his copter in front of the hotel, and taking over areas like the library and the ENTIRE dining room our last night, his presence made this sizable property feel congested. No offense to him, but I'm an American, and on my last night there, instead of having a quiet romantic dinner in the dining room, my husband and I endured a loud, unpleasant dinner in the bar area, which, unsurprisingly was filled with people drinking and laughing and smoking. I usually wouldn't mind the drinking and the laughing, but my dinner was ruined by the smoke. To be fair, the manager did ask several times for them to stop smoking in the sitting area and bar... however, a note to this Four Seasons, even a king needs to be told "no" sometimes if it conflicts with the needs and comfort of other paying guests. Two solutions for your hotel, private room for royal parties, or two restaurants for dining at night. Simpler fix would have been to simply tell us we would not be able to dine in your restaurant when we made the reservation! We'd have driven to London, it was after all, the night of our anniversary celebration and the reason we visited your lovely property! Would I return? Absolutely. Our lackluster end did not spoil the exquisite beauty experienced at this location.

Yelp
I would be willing to bet that if I grabbed the concierge, pulled him aside, and quietly asked him to kill someone for me, before saying "no," he'd think about it for a few minutes. That's the level of service I'm talking about here. Above and beyond. Oh, and speaking of killing someone, they offer clay pigeon shooting on the property. Reload.

Yelp
This is among the most beautiful places you can imagine staying. The rooms are truly first class, the staff are refined and professional, and the grounds are exactly what you'd like to imagine in terms of an English countryside getaway. 5 stars for every aspect of this fantastic experience. NPD

Yelp
Beautiful grounds, wonderful setting. The building is an old school/college and I believe it actually served another purpose as well. We visited just as Spring was springing and I imagine it's even more wonderful in May. Service is impeccable and friendly. There are many activities, including horseback riding and skeet shooting. (we did both) The old man assisting us with the shooting was so personable and helpful. Dinner in the bar was just right, and the bar service is fantastic. I had a gin martini one day that was among the best I've ever had. The second day wasn't quite perfect, it was a different bartender. He didn't work the lemon peel around the glass, I think he was rushed. They even let us borrow a couple coats for 2 days, because the weather was colder than we expected. Marvelous!

Yelp
We stayed overnight and loved it. I really liked the Spa, the ladies only section is incredibly beautful and expansive. I first thought calling a sauna and steam bath "heat experiences" was a bit grand, but they are huge and lush. Plus there is a relaxation area upstairs with lovely beds, music and so on. They offer complimentary refreshments almost everywhere (breakfast in the morning, dried cranberries and tea in the relaxation areas, fruit and gatorade in the fitness room). There is also a Starbucks onsite (yay!) Would you like wellies or a bike to explore the grounds? Not a problem, and it's all complimentary! I personally recommend to book a rate without breakfast and then order a la carte to your room. The banana pancakes can feed a family and the berry plate was amazing, too. The only minuses: you absolutely need a car to get there. The vitality pool is the same as the swimming pool so it's not that warm. And the nearest ladies restroom from the fitness center is some 5 minutes away which can be annoying.

Yelp
Superb hotel, by far one of the most awesome places I've stayed. Went here for a one night treat on the first night back from honeymoon just to extend things for another day when we got back to the UK. I'm as happy in a travelodge as most hotels, however even the least pretentious person on the planet would have to admit the suite, food, surroundings were all pretty amazing. It certainly cost a fair bit more than a Travelodge but it was a once in a lifetime one for me and my wife and we really enjoyed every expensive second we spent there. Greeted with a chilled bottle of champagne on ice and strawberries cream, all a bit posh but not going to complain the restaurant was very slick although lacked a little atmosphere. The food was brilliant and the lamb I had was reared on the hotel estate which was a nice touch.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel in Hampshire. Beautiful place with really superb service. Typically British luxury country hotel with a contemporary twist. Large rooms with views over the countryside, it's green all around really and in the middle of nowhere just an hour from London. A great place for a luxury break - I went there for a business event but would love to come back to enjoy a weekend break. It would be a nice treat

Yelp
What a beautiful hotel. Lovely hotel in amazing grounds. Attention to detail is amazing. I recently had a spa day here and was really impressed about everything from the staff to the location to the ambience . You are certainly made to feel important and special when you walk into this hotel. The spa area was amazing with a beautiful pool and great treatments on offer. Everything could be tailored to requirements. The food at lunchtime was lovely but light. Freshly cooked fair was on offer and although was expensive was in my opinion justified

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful grounds. The spa and gym facility are amazing. Classes taught by great instructors, bikes available, horses, pool, sauna.... This place has it all! Our room is so plush and cozy I can hardly contain myself! Cant wait to come back. Its so easily accessible from london. Only took 90 miutes to get here from waterloo. Love it!!!
