Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara, North San Diego

Home away from home... We enjoy the resort with everything it has to offer as well as the familiarity, the ambiance. It was much better when the Park Hyatt hotel was a Four Season and we could enjoy the tennis court, the pool, the golf course, restaurants and other amenities. The villas were recently refurbished and we loved it. The staff is as friendly and helpful as usual. Thanks to Alex, Avery, Sean, Martina and everyone else. The Lucid experience and the e-bike just put everything over the top. It's close to the flower field, the state beach, the outlet, or venture further to La Jolla and San Diego attractions. Walking around the Batiquitos Lagoon is so relaxing. This resort is magical especially during the Christmas season.

We stayed here for an anniversary trip with young kiddos and LOVED IT. Fran and her team were so communicative before our stay, and everyone on staff there was lovely. They left lots of goodies in our room for our anniversary (and came back again to give our kids even more macarons to eat). They had goodie bags for the kids that literally entertained them for hours. We loved eating breakfast in their restaurant every morning. The rooms were spectacular and they also gave us a free upgrade per our Fine Hotels and Resorts stay through our credit card. Top notch in all the ways!

We recently spent a week at the Four Seasons Aviara and found it to be exceptionally nice. The resort is comfortable, beautifull and the service was excellent! If anything is needed just ask and it will be addressed almost immediately. The location is great as well, about a 15 minute drive from the ocean and close to many ammenities.

First time at this property. At check in, requested a quiet room and specifically without street noise, as we are going to be here for 2 weeks while having a medical procedure. Was told that would not be a problem, but ended up in a room facing Aviara Parkway which is very loud. All parts of the unit, including the bedrooms faces this main road. Beware that almost all the buildings in the Summit Village face Aviara Parkway and all units in Buildings 17-24 would have to deal with the sound of cars whizzing by loudly during your stay. Summit Village seems to be where the majority of the units are located as the other two villages which seem like they would be much quieter have very few buildings. I even had earplugs in last night (which of course they did not offer) and I could still hear the street noise. It's too bad because it's a nice property. But it's just not relaxing at all with the constant street noise. Nothing about the service jumps out as being extraordinary

We were connected with Michael, and I cannot overstate how much he turned an otherwise traumatic situation into something manageable. Michael was communicative, empathetic, and genuinely helpful every step of the way. In a moment that could have felt overwhelming, he provided calm, clarity, and support. Thank you, Michael, for everything you did for us. If you’re Michael’s manager, please give this exceptional man a raise, he more than deserves it.

We booked a stay at the Four Seasons Aviara Residences through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts, which includes an upgrade upon arrival if rooms are available. At check-in, the front desk told us no upgrades were available but said they would move us if something opened up. The next day, the manager claimed they could not upgrade us because rooms were not available at check-in even though upgraded categories were clearly being sold on the hotel’s own website the entire time. This was not just disappointing but dishonest. Instead of honoring the benefit or being transparent, the property gave conflicting excuses. We were so frustrated by the lack of integrity that we checked out early and scrambled to find new accommodations. I can’t believe this is what Four Seasons properties have become. Rooms were fine but nothing special, and the service fell far short of the brand’s reputation. Even more disappointing, the “Four Seasons Golden Rule” is supposed to be “Treat others how we want to be treated.” Clearly, this property doesn’t live by it. If you’re booking through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts, be aware that this property does not appear to honor the program in good faith. There are many other hotels that treat guests honestly and deliver the level of service you’d expect from a luxury booking. On a side note, we moved to the Omni La Costa Resort down the street, which honored Amex’s upgrade program immediately — no begging, no hoops. Exactly how it should be.

We’re so glad we chose this place for our special celebration! Fran and Henry were incredibly friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. The hotel is very kid-friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Our family felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The suite was spotless, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay. We had a wonderful experience here, and we can’t wait to return. See you next time!

My friends and I attended the Four Seasons Winter Bash hosted by San Diego Magazine last Friday evening. The event started with a truffles seminar presented by Stefanie from Sabatino. She was very knowledgeable in everything truffles related and I learned so much! Following the seminar, Chef Jerade Hill and his culinary team from Seasons (on site restaurant) showcased their menu with select appetizers made with an assortment of truffles. I didn't get to try everything, but what I did try were the following and they were all absolutely delish! - Deviled eggs with truffles - Celery root purée with truffles - Toast with truffles - Dark chocolate truffle with truffles - Pear with bleu cheese & truffles The event was quite a success and I had a great time. The hotel itself was beautiful and very upscale. All of the staff were incredibly friendly. I had a chance to meet with Jessica, the Guest Experience Supervisor, who provided me a tour of the hotel where learned more about their restaurant, Seasons. This restaurant bases their menu off the current season's locally sourced veggies, hence the name. I look forward to coming back for a more intimate visit.

I am putting this review ahead of the actual service being done. I'm confident that the resort manager will help me without any issue with the email that I personally just sent him. I'm giving this company the benefit of the doubt because I have stayed here in the past and received excellent service and I know I can get it this time as well. Exceptional stay at this lovely Four Seasons location. Jessica and Kaitlyn made our experience 5 stars from start to finish- a birthday card and some extra goodies to start and continued hospitality throughout the stay. Rooms are modern and recently renovated, beds are extremely comfortable, and the fitness/spa/pool facilities immaculate. All the stuff you would expect from a Four Seasons and they certainly live up to the name and then some here! The folks at the front desk and the restaurant were great and the food was delicious. Away from the hustle bustle of LA or San Diego proper and right next to the very nice Aviara Golf Club (not technically part of their offerings). Thanks again for a fantastic stay!! Of note, this property is a member of American Express fine hotels, and resorts!

Booked a one night stay here via Amex FHR program and really enjoyed our experience. Check in/out was seamless. Clarissa was very friendly and explained the Amex FHR benefits like the credits as well as the amenities available on site. We got upgraded to a One Bedroom Residence which had a washer/dryer, full kitchen, fireplace and 2 bathrooms. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Food here was very good. We tried their restaurant for breakfast and also ordered in room dining. The breakfast potatoes were delicious. In room dining: mushroom truffle pizza, hot honey pizza and the orange ricotta donuts. I really enjoyed the donuts.

Let's give this place a 5 star because they just deserve it, alright? And Emilia is awesome. I love everything is going on here, but more especially for its quiet and private.

So disappointed in the restaurant on site. My fiance (husband in four days!) and I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice brunch at the four seasons. I ordered the caeser salad which was the best part of brunch. The delicious shaved egg and parmesan along with the scrumptious dressing were spot on. I ordered a Seafood Tower that fell so short there was no tower. Such a shame for $54. No tower, and the smallest crab claws ive ever seen. He ordered the avocado salmon benedict and it was lackluster as well as cold. such an absolute shame. The only redeeming part of brunch today was our extremely attentive, kind and amazing server Tania. Thank you for making us feel special despite the poor culinary experience.

I brought my kids do this resort and was very disappointed. While at the family pool, at 2 pm, a pool staff yelled at my kids for playing. I understand that the majority of the patrons are older people and if it were late at night I could understand but for the main pool at 2 pm I expect it's normal to play and have fun. The staff knew my kids were with parents so they could've addressed me which is what I would've appreciated. We cut our stay short and left early.

When you stay at the Four Seasons residence, expect to be pampered from the pre. Concierge, to set up your room, your preferences, add what you want to do, and then when you arrive you are welcomed with World-class service staff. We had a two bedroom lock off suite. The onsite dining is awesome! Golf at Aviara golf course.. Enjoy a massage at the Driftwood spa..At the end of the day, enjoy a relaxing adult only hot tub that is open till 11pm!

We come here on vacation yearly and love it! Such a relaxing environment, with excellent amenities. And Julia at the pool bar is fantastic. Such an amazing attitude, so happy to help. Loved my time at the hot tub! Thanks for your positivity Julia!!

I was only there one night but one of the best experiences that I have ever had in hospitality. The staff was extremely accommodating, communicative, warm and friendly. I received regular texts from staff asking if I needed anything or if there was anything they could do to prep for my arrival. The room was meticulously prepped and clean. The mattress and pillows were beyond comfortable. The space was quiet and peaceful. I will definitely be back.

We have been owners of this timeshare for some time now, and while the service itself has not been bad, we've reached a point where continuing this arrangement no longer aligns with our families future. Unfortunately our attempts to exit the contract have been met with little to no help from the company. At the time of signing, we were given promises and assurances that have not been kept. For anyone considering this timeshare, please be aware that the information provided during the sales process may not reflect the reality of the ownership. Our decision to separate from this timeshare is not just about us- it's about protecting our children from the financial burden of inheriting something that they don't want. We feel strongly it is the best choice for our families future, but the lack of support in navigating an exit has been incredibly frustrating. We are prepared to take this issue wherever necessary to ensure others are aware of our experience. If you are considering this timeshare, think carefully and make sure you understand the long term implications before signing. David and Candace Huber

Shocked this is a four seasons... the service isn't great and the staff tend to be rude not trying to work with the customers. I've stayed at multiple four seasons and this one doesn't deserve the brand and quite frankly hurts the reputation... the Hyatt right up the street is much better.. you should book there...

Directv was horrible. We had to keep calling to get it fixed. When we first arrived, there were no pots/pans to cook with, and the kitchen was sparse untensil-wise. The rooms were nice and large, but we will not be coming back. I consider myself a friendly person, always willing to chat with new people and say hello; absolutely no one who was staying there or lived there was friendly. I would say hello, and they just walk on by. The staff were/are wonderful!! I felt bad that they had to call everyone as Mr./Mrs./Miss [Insert last name]. All staff were friendly and courteous. They were the only ones you could have a conversation with and, of course, the family and friends you traveled with.

I haven't had any issues when coming to the four seasons. The staff is always super friendly and very accommodating. I really love that they have a game room area for the kiddos. I was a bit bummed on this visit when I ordered the chips, salsa and guacamole because I remembered the salsa being fresh and flavorful whereas this one was really bad, seemed oily and tasted off, and then the guacamole didn't even look like it was homemade which was quite surprising considering that it's fairly easy to make. The kiddos however enjoyed the pizza so that was a plus. Overall, still one of the best places to stay at when visiting.

Highly recommended super relaxing super clean and great rooms and super relaxing one of the best resorts

A disappointing experience. Our room wasn't ready until 5:15 pm (instead of the advertised 4:30 pm check in). When we finally able to access our room, it smelled like a wet dog. We called housekeeping they said they would bring us an air purifyer. They showed up two hours later with a aerosal air freshener and said the air purifier was broken. A little while later, my seven year old daughter asked me why there are "oreo cookie crumbles" coming out of the ice dispenser. When I checked the dispenser, we found black mold. We called housekeeping, but they never showed up to clean or replace the moldy part.

I have been coming to dine at Four Seasons restaurant for several years now, and while every time has been great, last night was an experience well above anything I had expected. What started as a nice evening out, was transformed by the attentive and welcoming service of our server Marcos, into an unforgettable dinner. Marcos masterfully recommended wines that elevated the quality of our food, took the time to teach us about each wine and was truly professional at building a great atmosphere. The Ricotta crostini was a treat to start with, the steak was cooked exactly as requested(I recommend the truffle aioli or horseradish cream sauce with it) and the Earl Grey crème brûlée provided the perfect finish. I highly recommend the Ehret 2019 Cab with the steak if you want to be impressed with its abundant aromatics. A big shout out to the Kitchen for providing consistently great dishes and an even bigger shout out to Marcos, for providing the kind of service that has earned the Four Seasons Brand its international recognition. It's safe to say we will be back and hungry for more.

Love this place. I think my family has stayed here numerous times within the past few years and the service and environment was always wonderful and comfortable. I'm local and whenever my family visits me they make sure to stay here!!

We are staying here for three nights. At check in, they accommodated my husband's request for a room on a higher floor with a view. We are in The Summits in Building #28. There is a gorgeous balcony with a view overlooking a canyon, with lush vegetation and flowers. The room is lovely and spacious, with a couch and sitting area. The bathroom is very luxurious, and the L'Occitane bath products are wonderful. There is a little kitchenette with a coffeemaker, mini fridge, microwave, and even a toaster. Housekeeping comes in daily and they do an exceptional job of making up the rooms. It is chilly this week (late Feb) but the hot tub in the pool area was very comfortable. We are having a great stay.

So, I finally used my certificate for a 1 week stay here at the Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara in Carlsbad. It was a beautiful 2 bedroom unit off of Osprey. Second floor views of the ocean, beautiful homes, carlsbad lagoon, and of course golf course's. This was such a nice and relaxing staycation. The gas fireplace made it very cozy, and 3 bathrooms with two nice soaking tubs was just what i needed as it was a very rainy week. That being said we enjoyed SD county during presidents week. As it was an independent study week we, went to some museums in balboa park, as was the king tut exhibit at the fair grounds, and very much enjoyed the beach life. Our residence had everything you need and I would highly recommend staying here at your home away from home. The pools have just been re-surfaced and the beds and furniture are comfortable and of good quality and condition.

We just completed a stay at Four Seasons and had nothing but problems. The room we were in started leaking water, pouring in from the light in the bathroom. I called front desk but no one came. Called a 2nd time and by now the water was also leaking in from hallway lights. We couldn't get to the bedroom bc of all the water pouring in. Maintenance placed trash cans to collect the hall water but left the bathroom flooding. When they needed to clean we were asked to leave. I went to front desk to find out about switching rooms and was told we would get a call, never did. I went back again and was told the same, again no call. 7 hours later the room was still wet and they only placed bath mats over the floor in hallway. My husband slipped on the tile because there was about an inch of water in the entryway and when he walked from carpet to tile it was like ice. I went to front again to ask about the room change and they offered us another room on opposite end of resort on the 2nd floor with no elevator and we have a baby and stroller but it was the only option. They also told me the floor should be dry as they used quick drying chemicals on it. That's not cool with us having an 8 month old in the room. It was not dry it was still very much leaking and I showed them videos of how much water was still on the ground. In the new room we put our daughter to bed in the bedroom and closed the door. A few hours later she was crying. I went to enter the room and the door was locked. We couldn't enter the bedroom and panicked we called the front desk and tried breaking in. Front desk told us housekeeping would be there in 5 minutes. We were frantic as the baby was screaming entire time and we couldn't get to her. We called 911 because we thought we needed someone to break open the door. When housekeeping showed up they only had keys to the room, not the bedroom and couldn't do anything. My husband was able to get into the room jamming something into the handle to pop the lock. Security and engineering came and told us when you close the door with the handle turned it can lock. Terrible faulty lock if it can just lock like that. Engineering gave us a screwdriver to jam in if it happened again. Security told us he heard about the flooded room and was shocked at us not getting a new room almost 10 hours later. He said we should've been moved immediately as the water was coming from the bathroom upstairs. The hotel did NOTHING for us. They never called to check on how we were doing, they never offered a room we had to keep pushing to move, they put our family at risk in a room with bathroom water flooding in and using chemicals without our knowledge or permission to with a baby. Putting us in a 2nd floor inaccessible room, making us move at our daughters bedtime, telling us to leave so they could clean but didn't even offer to get us lunch. At the very least they could've done that as a friendly apology for everything that happened and making us leave during our stay when our baby has naps and food schedules. Then having the bedroom door lock and our baby being in that room was terrifying. Then sending housekeeping with room keys, they obviously didn't listen to what we were telling them or respond to what an emergency that was. After how we were treated we would never recommend staying here. I work for a travel show and my husband is a pilot. We spend a lot of time in hotels and this was one of the worst experiences either of us have had. Sophia, Kendra and Philip were the managers we dealt with and not one was accommodating. Everyone just pushed us off telling us we would get a call and best they could offer was to include this in their next training session so it won't happen again. That doesn't help what happened to us however. Carlsbad is beautiful and there are plenty of cheaper better resorts that will ensure the safety of their guests.

This 5-star rating is no surprise. You all should already know this by now, but the Four Seasons is the best of the best hotels in the world. Their service is world-class and food is exquisite. If you have the opportunity to stay here, do so! I highly recommend it. My husband and I are fortunate to have gotten a week at a 2-bedroom villa here. We usually stay at Welk in Escondido during the New Years holiday, but our timeshare gave us access to this place and the crapload of money I put into my timeshare to get access to this place is well worth it! A few days before check-in, I downloaded the Four Seasons app on my phone and entered my information. It actually asked me what type of mattress and pillows I preferred. It also had a concierge chat where I can request items to be ready in the room. I requested two children's robes for my goddaughter and her brother, a diaper genie and children's toiletries. The moment we pulled up to this place, we were greeted by really friendly people. My party stayed in the car while I went to check in. Upon check-in, someone came out holding a tray with a hot towel and a glass of apple cider with a cinnamon stick in it. We were told the room wasn't ready so the concierge gave us 2 keycards to access the pools and the recreation areas. The concierge asked if I had been there before and I told her that I haven't so she said she would show us around. She also asked if my guests wanted cider as well. When my guests came in, the concierge called my goddaughter and her brother by name and then said one moment. She went to the back room and came out with a radio flyer full of sunglasses that the kids could have. It was very thoughtful. The kiddos chose their sunglasses and we walked around where the restaurant was. Close by was the pool and the spa. After we finished our ciders, we walked to the playground that was close by. It was a lot of fun for young and old! On the lower level by the playground is a large flat grassy area where people can run around and play. I received a phone call saying that our room was ready. I asked them to bring the room keys to us at the playground so we can play some more. They came after about 5 minutes. Our villa was located in the Summits. We got the bottom floor. Our patio leads to a grassy area and looks out into the lagoon and tree tops. The villa was ample -- bigger than my own condo. The living space is open and nicely decorated. To our surprise, in the master bathroom, they wrote "Welcome to Aviara!" with the kids names. The only thing I was missing was the diaper genie and the children's toiletries, which is ok. I called concierge and let them know about the diaper genie. I forgot about the children's toiletries. The kids did get their robes. Four Seasons is known for their bed and pillows. I can definitely see why. Their sheets are so clean and white. I am so particular about hotels and sitting on top of the duvet -- I can't lay or sit on top of a duvet because I feel like they don't get cleaned. The duvet at Four Seasons is definitely washed. I don't feel like the 16365328 person that touched the bedding. I have no problem laying on top of it. Their pillows are like puffs of clouds. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I immediately fall asleep. I really can't say enough about the little things about this place -- the s'mores bar on Sunday evenings, which offers a variety of chocolates, getting a yummy smoothie delivered to us when we were at the pool, having maid service every day... my family and I have really enjoyed our stay. Without a doubt, I would stay here again.

So............. As an update , people are always happy to complain but don't give a follow up . After learning of our check in issues Alexis and Phillip really went above and beyond to provide us with some beautiful accommodation and make our stay extraordinary! Thank you for your help. Most appreciated. There can always be issues but good customer service is how you address those issues ! 4S got it right ! You guys did a fantastic job in making our visit MORE than memorable ! THANK YOU ! THANK YOU !

This place is a scam. Does not reflect the Four Seasons brand at all. Lobby is in poor taste, there were no bell hops or valet parking attendants. Check-in staff were somewhat rude and not customer service oriented. Rooms are timeshares and feel like medium quality apartments. All in apartment buildings separate from the "lobby" which was likely previously the main apartment office. No elevators for second story and you have to carry your luggage yourself. No minibar in room. Rooms have a medium quality feel, not the high end marble laden four five star quality associated with four seasons properties. Lobby and restaurant have a 3-star feel when it comes to decor, quality of service staff, and quality of food.

Follow-up that after taking our RUINING our mothers day, this hotel thought it was appropriate to CALL AND ASK US TO REMOVE OUR POST -- FOR a $100 CREDIT?? (This is less than 10% of our stay btw) Apparently, $100 is what they think is the $ value of ENABLING RACISM at their establishment. AND once we said we were offended by this offer, they said "ok then WE we retract our offer" (???) This place has a LOT to learn re bias in the hospitality industry. Clearly any official policies they have are meaningless if their staff dont treat everyone the same!! Again, if you are Asian-American and you'd rather not feel UNWELCOME, spare yourself the $ AND the aggravation + head to the Fairmont Del Mar. Their grounds are exquisite too, and (UNLIKE this place) their host at their outdoors fireplace lounge was sooo lovely, he made us instantly feel welcome!

My family has owned a timeshare with the Four Seasons Aviara for 20 years. We love it in Carlsbad, we have taken friends, family, and now my daughter over the last 20 years. The Four Seasons is like family to us when we visit. The staff is so accommodating, welcoming and helpful. Aviara is like our home away from home. We love staying in the Meadows, the pool and the condos. In the recent past they have had an remodel and a new restaurant and bar and it is a nice addition!! I can't say enough good things about Aviara! It is a truly amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone!

Came here for a little get away with the family. Had an amazing time. The staff was amazing and always willing to help out. Ireland, Hailey and I believe Andrew were amazing. When we were poolside, they were always checking in on us, before my drink was finished I was being asked for another. Anything we needed, they were willing to fulfill our request. That is a major plus!!! The residence was great with the full kitchen to the washer and dryer and dining room. The only issue we had was the upstairs residents were making our chandeliers shake every time they were walking around. I don't say anything because they should have some respect but I also didn't want to be that neighbor to complain. Beside that, we had an amazing time and would definitely recommend owning here. We were here for the Thursday Sip n Say( I think) . Met a lot of owners and everyone just confirmed that this was the place for us. . We will definitely be back. This is close enough to all the major attractions that you want and great dining, on site or in town.

Very disappointed in customer service which has been good in the past Rude staff not at all accommodating We have been loyal patrons since 1993 and expected more professionalism IMO it hasn't been the same since Covid Rooms are worn -restaurants mediocre - general upkeep and vibe is no longer in line with the four seasons brand

Absolutely went above and beyond my expectations!! They have individual villa/condos with access from the parking lot and honestly during Covid it was way more convenient especially with a toddler. When you check in they check your temperature and really exceeded our expectations with the precautions they were taking. You also get your temperature checked before going into the pool area. My husband especially enjoyed the gym which was limited to 1 person at a time and cleaned afterwards. He went every day. The views here were great and the space was fantastic. This is a place we would definitely come back to since it was so safe and convenient to things in the area and perfect for a family! Also the little touches they did in the villa welcoming my daughter were so thoughtful and we loved every minute of our stay here in September!

Everyone is limited with COVID restrictions, but this four seasons sends a letter of what you must do and cant do, everything is an extra charge. No specials for the Valentines Holiday, without a huge price tag. Reese, in customer service, was arguing with me about my disappointment instead of offering a solution. Reese continued to talk over me, instead of allowing me to speak. Not impressed. Here is hoping the stay will go much better, as I already promised my 8 year old a fun stay cation. Hotel Del, offered cute stuffed animal every night, the Welks Resort had chocolates and treats for the guest. Small tokens of appreciation for business goes a long way. Ms. Reese and the Four Seasons should learn from this review. We all have mistakes, I hoping they fix them. I will update this review after my week.

We decided to go on a road trip with our newborn baby and visit my family down in Carlsbad - our travel agent helped us book this place and we completely fell in love. In fact, we loved it so much that we decided to book it again for our second trip down south! Service was impeccable and the room is great - we had a few different meals at the restaurant and also got to check out the pools (and had lunch there once). It also really helped that they had Tesla chargers so we could just charge our car overnight (though the supercharger is pretty much down the hill). I seriously only have positive things to say about this place and will definitely be coming back again when we decide to do another road trip!

We stayed in the two bedroom Villa and it was spectacular! Everything was clean, the linens were crisp, and service from hotel and restaurant staff were great. This place is a little hidden gem. Plus is the bath robes and luxurious l'occitane toiletries

The worst hotel in the chain. No drinking water in the rooms. There is coffee in the room, but no sugar or cream. The telephone and the lamp were broken in the room. There are no slippers, you need to call and ask, they bring one pair. They forgot to bring ice. Check out from the hotel at 10 am !!! Terrible pool service - rude people. Don't make cocktails - all drinks are from cans. They measure the temperature at the entrance three times to the same person, although the thermometer shows everyone the same 92 degrees. The jacuzzi does not work. In the restaurant, the plates are not removed and the waiter cannot be called. The hostess you can wait forever, since he is also a barista at the bar. Very unpleasant place, would not recommend it to anyone.

When the worst thing you can say about your stay is they didn't replace the lotion in the bathroom (they have obviously done something right) staff is top notch on point and the grounds are meticulous. I can't fault them for feral children running around unsupervised, I blame the parents for that (it's summer after all) The pools are pretty standard in my opinion (not my favorite Four Seasons pools) but well equipped and refreshing. We got the two bedroom villa because we had friends coming down from LA for one night. Bedrooms are well separated on each end (with private patios) so good for privacy, three bathrooms and a full kitchen and laundry and it was stocked with EVERYTHING you could possibly need including Laundry detergent. Nothing like doing laundry on your weekend vacation but hey it's there if you need it. It has a mini kitchenette off the master bedroom which was perfect for bottled water and things. Highlight 2 BRUNCH Weekend brunch has a different menu and everything was phenomenal including the service, breakfast burrito one of the best I've had, ricotta French toast very good with fresh berries, breakfast pizza with two sunny side eggs, potatoes, salsa, cheese and caramelized onions (I would have ordered it without but we were all sharing) it was amazing. All restaurants are fantastic as are the lounges, I am confident they will keep up the good work for the rest of the stay!

So I contemplated back and forth between Park Hyatt Aviara and Four Seasons Residence about 3 times before I landed my reservation. Boy, was I glad for this decision. First of all, Four Seasons service, presence, staff training is ALWAYS impeccable! Everyone knew every guests last name by heart and they kept emphasizing that we are on vacation that let them do all the work for us. I am Spoiled rotten. So I booked my room through Amex Platinum and paid about $425/night. Their next room category up was one bedroom suite at $1300. I know Amex offers for free upgrade but I wasn't expecting them to upgrade my room as it's a HUGE upgrade. Guess what? They did!!! Omg! We were so psyched!!!! This suite had a living room(with optional pull out sofa bed), fireplace, dining room, open kitchen, separate bedroom, TWO bathrooms, two closets, TWO balconies, AND washer and dryer! OK , so this is for party apartment for four I guess lol We also had free breakfast at Seasons restaurant. Food and service was top notch. With $100 hotel credit, we spent it all on dinner. Dinner: As I slowly cut into the crispy skin and moist large scallop, I already know it's gonna be amazing before it was sent to my mouth. I closed my eyes and smiled... Yaassss...!!! Meatball, pretty tasty too. Surf and turf was really good too. A nice cut of ribeye with just enough fat to flavor the meat. Prawns were also seasoned and grilled to perfection. Four Seasons, you'll always have my heart in all seasons :)

We stayed in the 1 bedroom villa for a few days to celebrate Mother's Day (first time mom here) and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay. The villa was very spacious, the bed was beyond comfortable. Having a kitchen was great with a 4.5 month old. They left a welcome fruit box, macaroons and a sippy cup (our baby is too young) but the gesture was nice. The macaroons were delicious! We had brunch at seasons on Mother's Day and the food was delicious. We ate at the restaurant for lunch everyday (I was addicted to their Aviara burger and suavecita cocktail) The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved our stay so much we stayed an extra day. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is partly my own fault since I forgot something in the room on the bed and I didn't realize until I came home that evening. I called the resort, they transferred me to lost & found (I was supposed to get a call back, but I never did). Obviously the item wasn't turned in, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Despite "losing" my item, I will definitely be back. I'll make sure I pack everything lol

Our 1 bedroom villa was very spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable. Just like any other Four Seasons we have stayed at the service was excellent! This property is just like home away from home and very private. Our son enjoyed playing at the playground, running on the field and most of all playing in the pool where he made new friends. Definitely recommend for a long stay.

My wife and I had a lovely stay a couple of weeks ago. We felt pampered and well taken care of. A special shout out to Wyatt at the pool and Travis at the restaurant. Everything was as we expected, the grounds are lovely, and the service was excellent.

I really enjoy the updated Seasons restaurant with its indoor and outdoor dining adjacent to the pool. They have a nice water fountain which provides quiet from the pool area. Tip: For those with electric cars, including my friends, there are universal chargers and ones for Tesla's onsite. Now time to enjoy my lunch...

My 600th review is dedicated to one of my favorite local vacation spots! The Four Seasons is all about luxury and service, which makes it ideal for a relaxing vacation. This place has a lot going for it, which is why I keep going back: Location, location, location- Aviara is in the southern portion of Carlsbad, just a few minutes away from the beach. It's close enough to all the San Diego attractions but far enough away that you can truly relax. This resort is located on a hilltop, providing fabulous views of Batiquitos Lagoon and Aviara golf course. The resort even provides a jogging map of the area that includes a path along the golf course. Service- Employees provide top notch service and genuinely seem to want to help and do anything they can. Whether it's giving you a warm towel and bottle of water at check-in, providing DVDs from their library, or offering suggestions for activities for the whole family, they really do exemplify the meaning of service. Property- With multiple pools, spas, and fitness centers, including access to those at the Park Hyatt Aviara, there is a lot to do on the property. My favorite is the adults-only tranquilty pool, which has amazing views of the coast and sunset. Rooms- With one and two bedroom villas reaching up to almost 1700 square feet, these accommodations feel like a home away from home, but with daily housekeeping service! In addition to the bedroom(s), the living room has a pull out sofa, so it's a great space if you have a few people to share. A full kitchen, two bathrooms, in room- laundry, and so much more leaves you wanting for nothing. A few other perks- Free parking They allow dogs (for some owners, but not renters) Free beverages (hot chocolate/tea/cider in the winter, cool drinks in the summer) in the lobbies Free wifi in the lobbies (but not in the rooms unfortunately- the only downside, but a common fee at many hotels)

We were very disappointed in our stay. Our room was not ready for check in and the check in staff did nothing other than shrug and say that housekeeping was working on it. They only followed up when asked and said it would hopefully be done soon. My son goes down for a nap at a certain time and they said our room would be done soon, so I stupidly believed them. It took hours. I don't know how --- I could have cleaned that room myself faster. By the time we got to our room -- almost 3 hours after arriving -- our toddler was overtired and it basically ruined our first day/evening/night. The room was outdated and the furniture uncomfortable. We could not relax or enjoy being in the room at all. The pool was nice and pool service was good. However, there was a man smoking on his balcony overlooking the pool and when I asked about it, someone said he does that everyday and theres nothing they can do. Don't CA regulations prohibit smoking within a certain distance of restaurants? Don't hotels prohibit smoking? We had to go across to the other side and hold our breath. Also, bar and restaurant were out of things (multiple times) and one of the pools was closed for a half day. No one proactively did anything. They would respond if we asked for something, but I had to track down staff to order food or drinks, ask questions, get a copy of our bill. The whole place seemed very disorganized and lacked the feel I expected. I was really disappointed. This is definitely not a 5-star vacation place.

This place is amazing, from the staff to the residence place itself, the Four Seasons doesn't disappoint. We checked in on Friday and we alerted them via email that we were gonna have 4 little ones with us, ranging from 7 months to 7 yrs. My wife also mentioned that my sons Birthday was the following day. As I walked into our room, we were greeted with high chairs for the kids, plastic coverings around the glass tables, to protect the kids from getting hurt by running into them. Their names were written on the mirror and it said "Welcome Abby, Jake, Everly and Hannah". The following day, the staff dropped off a small cake for my son to celebrate his birthday, free of charge of course, because it was complimentary. My wife had also requested bath robes for the kids which they did as well. The location is perfect as it's tucked away from the busyness of life yet accessible to Legoland, the beach and shopping centers. Our suite had a great view, the pool was clean, and well kept. It has a steam room, fitness room, showers, you can rent movies and the list goes on. We will definitely tell our friends and family about this place.

Incredible! Our suites were perfection... clean and crisp with beautiful views. The pool was gorgeous. Their attention to detail was impeccable. I can't say enough about how amazing this FS is.

Just as a disclaimer, I am writing this review about a month and a half after our visit; we visited the resort a few weeks before the states shelter-in-place. We visited the Four Seasons in Carlsbad for seven days and stayed in the two bedroom, two and a half, full kitchen room. Because I have a full blog on it, i'm going to list the pros and cons here: Pros: 1. Dog friendly! We brought our medium sized, 39 pound husky. There is a cleaning fee if you choose to bring your furry friend. 2. Our room had a full kitchen with utensils and dishes. 3. Living space had a fireplace. 4. Site has a number of pools. 5. Two fitness centers with free weights, cardio machines, peloton and sauna room. 6. Childcare for you parents. 7. Playground. 8. Our room had a washer and dryer but if yours does not, there are washers and dryers in a small room out near the parking lots. 9. Basketball courts are available. 10. Beaches are just a short drive away. 11. Complimentary tea and coffee in the early mornings 12. Yoga classes. 13. Children activities are offered. 14. Lounge spaces available with entertainment such as pool tables, reading space etc. 15. Surfing classes offered. 16. If you are looking to take the kids to Legoland, it is a short drive away. Cons: 1. Rooms could use a little update. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing time away from home.

The best place ever!!!!!! Best service we have ever had and we stay here all the time and live down the street everyone is soooo nice and our kids love it! My kids were being so nice to each other and an employee noticed and said how sweet our kids are and asked what room we are in and he came back and gave our kids smoothies and stuffed animals!!! That is the difference between a hotel that really cares! His name is Marley and he was so nice to our kids. Thanks again Marley and four seasons see you soon!

My family and I have been resident owners since 2006. We have noticed a gradual decline in the services provided since the dispute over the hotel years back. To say that this is the absolute worst experience to date is no exaggeration. This is definitely not the Four Seasons quality that we are accustomed to! Their housekeeping service is an embarrassment. My wife has been vacuuming our villa everyday on top of making the beds daily. They refuse to service the villa at once which is a major inconvenience because we have our dogs with us. We've had no one provide us with new towels and we are 4 days into our stay. God forbid you ask for a trash bag in order to empty the trash container!

The Seasons is a gorgeous, yet semi-casual establishment. Our ceviche appetizer and salmon entrees were excellent in every way. We had a beautiful booth with the perfect amount of sunshine and view to their gorgeous pool. Service was great and food was delicious. The prices are a tick too high, but they are catering to their hotel guests who might not have a ton of options when wanting a normal lunch on property. We drove from downtown for lunch and had a Travelzoo voucher for $49 for one shared app and two entrees for lunch for two people...it still came to a total of $50pp after tax and tip on normal amount. So, the normal price would have been $75pp for lunch. A bit steep, but.... If you want a fancy lunch, the food, ambiance and service won't let you down.

My girlfriend's family has been coming for the past 20 years, and I was lucky enough to be invited on a trip this spring. This location is truly wonderful, as is the surrounding Carlsbad location. The residences offer full kitchens that we took advantage of everyday, the rooms are beautifully furnished, and the staff are always on-call to assist. The new restaurant (Season) and food is great, the activities you can do (yoga/pilates/etc) are plentiful and run by experienced locals, and the hot tubs and pools available are a pleasure to use. I truly had a lovely time, and highly recommend you stay here if you're in San Diego!
