Four State Lookout

Ok-- this was worth it because we LOVE weird little adventures. The road to it is gravel but my Hyundai Velositor "Marmalade" made it up and down both sides. Because I am a lady "of a certain age" I HATE being hot and sweaty, I was worried I would have to walk up a billion stairs. Thank goodness it was a low sloaping ramp. (LMAO). When we got to the "top of the look out" we could tell it would be a very nice view if the trees were trimmed. Also, we realize trees need to be trees! We did get caught up in a "bug-nado" and decided to go back to the car. We could tell the area was recently mowed,so we knew someone near knows the adventure of seeing it. Here's to fun little adventures!

I couldn’t see anything. Trees are too high and the lookout low. Definitely a bit of ‘off roading’ to get to the top and I’m hoping that was a one way street because meeting anyone on the road would’ve been a mess. I drove up from kcmo and the drive was worth the trip beautiful countryside.

Stopped in during a multi-state road trip. It's a very nice view, but not much else up there currently. Would be cool if they added a bit of info about what you can see looking in all directions. There is a ramp to the lookout and maybe some old bathrooms?

Took a big circle on a days drive. Main stops were Platte City, MO. On the way to White Cloud, KS, spent time in Weston, MO. Fall foilage was just beginning, still worth it.

This is just outside White Cloud Kansas and affords a view over the Missouri river. It's free and worth the trip if you're close by. No gimmicks. No souvenirs. No surprises, just a nice view that allows you to see 5 States of you include the only hills in Kansas if you believe the stereotype :)

Not high enoigh to see much--not even the river. Too far from Nebraska and Iowa to see them-even if the foliage wasn't in the way. Not worth the effort to see.

Not a bad drive from KC. We saw Lots of rolling hills, old barns, and small town history as we drove the Glacial Hills Scenic Byway

A perfect view of four different states that overlooks the Missouri River. It's definitely a must-see.

Unfortunately I was let down that we made the stop. First you have to make it thru the abandon ghost town then up the steep hill road to a one lane hill road to something creepy out in the middle of nowhere. There was no marker saying what I was looking at. Thank goodness I didn't have to use the restroom since there was none for miles.

As stated by others you do drive thru an abandoned town, and up a steep gravel road, then u get to a little platform but the nice things are, there is a very nice handicap ramp, no stairs, but I was more concerned with the reliability and durability of the platform. The view was gorgeous, in July, but don't see all of the "4" states and no river. The platform as stated was very rickety & unsafe--needs some upkeep & I didn't stay long as we were almost taken alive by wasps & flies. This could use some upkeep & it would be absolutely beautiful

Getting to the lookout can seem a bit spooky. Turning off of K7 onto Main St and entering downtown White Cloud you might think you have entered a movie set since all of the businesses are abandoned, then a right turn up 3rd St is a long steep drive that turns to dirt and gravel, the kind of place that will give you second thoughts if you should turn around or persevere. Once to the top of the summit there is a boardwalk leading to a small platform that allows awesome 180 degree vistas. I believe that the "4" state lookout is a bit of a misnomer since Iowa is about 50 miles to the north and I really don't think that this hill is tall enough to allow for that far of a clear view. I think that Three State and a Tribal Nation Lookout would be more accurate since The Iowa Tribe has it's territory just a touch to the northwest. This is a not a Lookout Point I would advise as a destination, but if you're in the neighborhood, check it out -there's not much else to do!
