This was the best boat experience my family and I ever had. The snorkeling was fantastic but the whale watching was a once in a lifetime. We were extremely lucky to have three whales put on a fantastic show for us but it was the staff that also made it unbelievable. The Captain knew exactly how to position the boat so everyone could see. The rest of the staff was radiating positive energy. It was hard to not be excited! Thank you Four Winds for a once in a lifetime experience!

We just had the best day on the Four Winds. The staff was awesome, and the food was amazing! All 6 of us were very impressed. The weather conditions were perfect and we got to spend a lot of time in the water snorkeling, or going down the slide off the back of the boat. Highly recommend this company!

Google
The fish and pork tacos were absolutely delicious! A unique way to stand out among other deli sandwich trips. We were lucky and saw a rare monk seal sighting! Also a few late season whales at the end of April way off in the distance. This is our second snorkeling trip and glad we picked this one for Maui! Always a highlight of the trip-- don't miss out on getting out on the water!

Smooth stable ride, plenty of seats in both shade or sun. Glass bottom room with a bench. Snuba, snorkels, fins, wetsuits, floatation devices available. Photographs available in and out of the water. Boat was spacious, very clean, two restrooms. Food was plentiful and well prepared. 7 am tour for 5 hours to Molokini crater. Very enjoyable. Nice music at medium volume. We had a great time. I highly recommend the Four Winds boat sailing out of Maalaea harbor. The crew was first rate, and plentiful. Always ready to help or answer any questions from the guests.

Did the morning snorkel tour and it was amazing! There were 6 of us - my parents, my husband and I, and our 3 and 8 year old girls. We all really enjoyed it! The float with the viewing window was perfect for my 3 year old so she could be in the water “snorkeling” too. She also really loved the glass bottom part of the boat. My husband and oldest enjoyed the slide. Everyone was very helpful and the food was delicious! So thankful we found this company, it was a great day for everyone in the fam!

Google
This was such an amazing experience! While all the other boats were squishing people on, we had plenty of room to relax. It wasn’t crowded. We were greeted with coffee and breakfast! We had a view of countless whales the entire way there and back! The snorkeling was beautiful and clear. There were so many fish. We were able to get some amazing video and photos! Once we were back on the boat I had some delicious fish tacos and Chardonnay! You just can’t beat this trip!!!

Google
Non-stop fun with Four Winds! This was hands down the best day of our vacation. This experience had it all and their crew was absolutely fantastic – so friendly, kind, and attentive. Philip was amazing! We had the opportunity to be here during whale season and it was incredible. So many whales; babies breaching, tail slaps, and spouting all day! The Molokini snorkeling was surreal! They had high quality snorkel gear and floaties in case you needed a litte help. You could also try out Snuba, which is a cross between snorkeling and scuba diving. Don’t even get me started on the waterslide! So much fun! The food was absolutely phenomenal. Lunch was catered from one of Maui's best restaurants, which was a wonderful surprise – not your typical tour food! They served us a delicious breakfast too with coffee, tea, a beautiful fruit spread, and the homemade muffins! (We ate way too many!) One of the coolest parts of the boat was their glass bottom area. Wow! Just wow! It was huge and felt like an aquarium! You could see everything so clearly. Our friends even went down and put on a mermaid show for the kids that were watching. This tour had it all. From start to finish we felt like VIPs of the sea!

Google
Amazing trip and great crew. The boat is fit with everything you need, great food and beer and small enough to not feel crowded. We saw a ton of whales on the way and was the most beautiful snorkeling I’ve ever done. I highly recommend!

Yelp
We had the BEST time with Four Winds III--easily one of the top highlights of our Maui trip. The entire experience felt super personal and relaxed. It never felt crowded, and somehow every crew member made it feel like they were there just for us. Everyone was so attentive and kind, and the vibes were just chill and fun from start to finish. I was a little nervous about SNUBA at first, but the instructor gave a free intro class on board, and it totally convinced me to give it a try. I'm so glad I did--it ended up being one of the most fun and memorable parts of the trip! We had tons of time in the water, and snorkeling at Molokini Crater was absolutely magical. The coral and fish were unreal. And the food? Genuinely amazing. The fish tacos were next-level delicious. Oh, and open bar. We love an open bar. As a photographer myself, I also really appreciated the added bonus of professional photography included on board. It was so fun to have someone else capture the moment--such a treat to be in the photos instead of always behind the camera! Highly recommend this experience--it was everything we hoped for and more.

Yelp
Mixed reviews from my family. THE GOOD - the boat is new, the crew works hard and everyone nice, the views are gorgeous, the glass-bottom "rocketships" for kids are wonderful. THE BAD - choppy ocean, sea sickness if you're sensitive and no meds on board, zero turtles and no mention as to where they've gone, the food is just ok. Not sure why they wouldn't at least mention potential sea sickness and add medication to the "What to Bring" list. Several folks felt nauseous and instead of offering meds (not allowed on the boat, even though alcohol is), a staff member told them to go outside so they don't get the boat dirty - not cool. Also, I understand turtles aren't guaranteed but could we would have appreciated some kind of explanation.

Yelp
Amazing crew, very entertaining and engaging. The ship was a good size with room to move around. The food they prepared was good. The family enjoyed the snorkeling experience. They're actually talking about a snuba or scuba experience next time. There are a variety of upgrade options available. Be prepared to want to spend more than originally planned, but it'll be worth it. The wet suit should really be called a jacket. I've worn actual wetsuits. I don't think I'd have suggested that upgrade had I known earlier. Oh well. That upgrade wasn't pricey either way.

Yelp
Our family group of 12 went on a snorkeling adventure with Four Winds to Molokini, and had a blast! The crew was incredible to be around. Super friendly and willing to share info about the area and wildlife. We sailed for about an hour before reaching Molokini. After an easy-to-follow demonstration, we geared up. We enjoyed about 2 hours of snorkel time. What a sight!Afterwards, the Four Winds provided a yummy lunch. Then we headed back to Maui. The cruise itself was excellent. Very spacious and not overcrowded. Other ships pulling into the crater were jam packed to standing room. Once we saw that, we were very pleased with the choice we'd made. Highly recommend this company!

Yelp
FIVE STARS FOR FOUR WINDS | My sister found the Four Winds excursion to Molokini Crater and while I was a little nervous about snorkeling without a guide, I was also super excited. We arrived a little later than we were hoping to arrive (parking wasn't easy) but luckily hopped right into line. The boat was a little dark inside and the bathroom was a little scary but still clean. There was breakfast waiting for us on the bar which we flocked to. I'm not much of a breakfast person but I did appreciate the chocolate muffin and fruit. Unlimited drinks were included - from alcoholic beverages (I LOVED the Maui Hard Seltzer) to water and non-alcoholic options. Also when the water got a little choppy, they also offered fresh ginger drink to settle the stomach, which I did need at certain times. The BBQ grilled lunch offered a few options and for some reason I was really wanting a hot dog - which really hit the spot after a long swim at the crater. Check the website to make sure you remember what to bring (and also what not to bring). Bring your own snorkel gear, but if you don't have your own, it's included with your ticket. However if you don't have a wetsuit, I definitely recommend renting one - just be sure to bring some cash. And if you want to learn to SNUBA, this is the place to do it! The crew caught a HUGE fish along the way which was cool to watch - if you were brave enough, you could also snap a pic with it. Ok so finally the crater is incredible to see up close (but don't touch it!!!) we hopped into the water and to see all the fish and the crater in that clear blue water is simply priceless. Definitely recommend Four Winds Maui for your Molokini Crater snorkel experience!

Yelp
We just finished up our fourth trip with the Four Winds AM snorkel tour over the past nine years. As always, the crew and captain are professional, nice, and incredibly helpful. You can talk to them about baseball, fishing, geology, and just about everything else and they take the time to connect with you personally. Food is good for both grown-ups and kids, and the waterslide is always fun. Mahalo

Yelp
They were amazing. The food was excellent they took great care of us all. The history lessons the pictures and the time we got to spanning and out of the water. We will definitely use them again when we come back

Yelp
We did a snorkeling trip thru four winds. I'm one of the few people who doesn't like snorkeling - can't quite ever get the hang of breathing thru my mask. One of the crew told me it's because I have dimples so if I smile the water all gets into the mask. After 35 years of trying to snorkel glad I finally figured out the reason I have so many issues. My husband loves snorkeling and my kids had never tried it before and were excited about it. We got on board and found seats on the top of the boat even though we were on the later side (about 15 min before departure). We realized we forgot towels, which they don't have but it was a nice day so fine to dry off. It was a little cold when we first got there so may want to bring sweatshirts for the first hour or so. On our way to our snorkeling destination we saw a whale which was pretty cool. From there they outfitted us with masks, flippers and encouraged us to buy wetsuits to stay warmer in the water. The kids follow in their dad's snorkel abilities and all really enjoyed it. We did take a floatation device for our youngest and boogie boards for my older 2, which made me feel safer about them in the water. They gave us 2 hours to snorkel, but after about 1 hour 15 min they said they were good to get back on the boat for lunch. Lunch was tacos and hot dogs, which all enjoyed. Then we headed back and saw yet another whale. Score! The crew was all super fun and helpful. I'm sure there are many different options when it comes to snorkeling trips, but this is definitely a good option.

Yelp
Four winds is the best tour to Molokini we've taken. The crew was amazing. The boat layout is perfect. The food was the best we've had on any cruise on Maui. Our Grandson's had a blast. We will definitely be going with them in the future!
google avatar

Debora N.

Yelp
Treated very well by the professional crew. The cruise was smooth, tasty breakfast, the snorkeling equipment available. Snuba too. We took advantage of the family friendly glass bottom feature with long bench to observe the fish at Molokini. Very clean, large catamaran with two good size bathrooms. Buffet build your tacos lunch with choice of fish, shredded pork, or vegetarian. I shopped online at their store bought a cute tank top. 5 hours of relaxing fun. The crew was so pleasant and helpful. Photos were available too.

Yelp
Four winds 3 was a great boat with a super nice crew. The food was good the crew was super informative about how to snorkel and helpful with food and drinks. Would definitely go again.

Yelp
Had an absolutely wonderful time on this boat. Nicest one we've been on so far in Maui. The staff were fantastic. So kind and friendly, especially to the kids. It was easy to bring our 1.5yo on it also! Food and drinks were great. Def recommend

Yelp
My wife and I had the pleasure of sailing on this charter for the past two Monday's in a row. What a fabulous treat. For starters, a brand new boat! The Four Winds 3 is spacious, clean, smooth and the crew thoroughly enjoys hosting the passengers to ensure a good time is has by all. Any questions or concerns, the crew is there to help. Captain Sam and long time salty Captain Jay keep you safe, informed, and are able to seek out marine life on the way out and or back as is common. On our latest voyage, we got to see whales, spinner dolphins, and even bottle nose dolphins as we made our way back to the harbor in November. Crazy. The Molokini tour is lots of fun and you have ample time to see all kinds of see critters while snorkeling or even simply floating on one of their epic viewing boards- its like a TV pointed down into the crystal clear waters below. With the shallow depth and clear water, any skill level is able to see yellow fish, black fish, fun fish and more. Its a very special place and is a protected nature preserve. The coral is wonderful. Did I mention you get food and beverages at any time? Yes, breakfast and lunch, just head on down to the galley and enjoy coffee or even an adult beverage after your time is done in the water for safety reasons. I can't say enough great things about the entire crew who work so hard every day to make sure we, as residents or tourists have a great time experiencing the wonder an awe of natures animals out on the blue waters surrounding Maui HI. Do yourself a favor, book this cruise, you will be happy you did.

Yelp
We had a great experience with Four Winds to Molokini crater. Crew was very professional and friendly. We had a smooth ride out and back. Boat is in great condition. Food was very good and the reef was amazing!! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Just got back from our snorkel trip on the Four Winds! We did the snuba with Reed. Whole experience was amazing. Great day, great whale watching, and super amazing and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Great snorkeling tour! The boat was well maintained, spacious, and the crew was amazing, they were super friendly, fun, and helpful. I will say, the food for lunch was also delicious which was surprising! There is also a fun viewing deck at the bottom so you can see the fish even if you don't snorkel. There is also a photographer and videographer on board who will take photos and videos for you, which you can buy at the end. We went snorkeling to Molokini Island which was amazing and next time I'd want to snuba! There are many tours you can do but I'd highly recommend Four Winds as you get a great, quality experience for a good value!
google avatar

Yelp
I cannot recommend the Four Winds Molokini snorkel tour enough! From start to finish, the crew's customer service was absolutely top-tier--they went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt welcome, safe, and had the best experience possible. As a solo traveler, I'm usually hesitant about tours like this, not because of kids (kids are great!), but because of chaotic parenting. However, this crew ran such a smooth, well-organized trip that it was enjoyable for both families and solo travelers alike. The rules were clear, straightforward, and enforced in a way that kept things fun yet respectful for everyone. Huge thanks to the captain for keeping us informed and entertained, the chef for the delicious food, the instructors for their patience and expertise, and--most importantly--the bartender, who kept the drinks flowing and the vibes high. And to top it all off, I saw more whales on this trip than I ever have on an actual whale-watching tour! Grateful for such a fun, professional, and unforgettable experience. If you're considering this tour--book it. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Beware the predatory parking lot. I made a typo in the parking app when paying for parking and they towed my rental car by the time we got back. Totally unapologetic, preying on tourists mistakes. Had my 80 year parents and 4 year old son with me. Terrible experience, the commercial operators of this marina should rein in this despicable racket.

Kit B.

Yelp
Had a great day with your amazing crew, shout out to Ryan for his top notch service to our family. The only disappointing part was the choppy conditions once we arrived to our snorkel spot. The lunch was delicious and the crew spotted several sea turtles on the way back so the day ended well.

Stasia P.

Yelp
We did an afternoon 3.5 hr snorkel tour in April. We were lucky it did actually go to the Molokini crater island. I was hesitant to book the full 5 hr morning one, unsure how our kids (ages 7 & 9) would like it. Overall absolutely fantastic experience! The crew is so friendly, engaging, and attentive to all: old and young! It was our first ever snorkel tour with the kids, but certainly won't be our last. They handed out size appropriate gear (snorkel/mask, fins to match exact shoe size) during the ride there to save time. I was in between sizes and he was very kind to get me to try the other size when one was too tight. The kid appropriate gear was fantastic. From tiny fins and masks, even offered different sizes life vest. Not just those adjustable one fits all, but much better fitted ones for younger kids. Same with the wetsuits (small fee) - they found some that fit like a glove for both of our kiddoes. For me (adult female) water was comfortable temperature, so don't think adults really need wet suits for this, but kids do get chilly. Our younger one, although proficient snorkeler/swimmer, even in wetsuit did get cold. I was coming back to the boat with him, when the crew also offered him their rafts, where child lies atop and looks through a window. Calling it a "rocketship", he was sold, so we could go back out again. He was warmer lying atop a raft and parent could navigate him while snorkeling and he saw fishies through the window while resting atop where it was warmer. This pleasantly extended the experience for us. I can see how these rafts for younger kids, who could not snorkel, would be even more beneficial. The underwater photography was great memories to take home (extra fee). We only peeked at the glass bottom, as it was only open when we were stationary when others snorkeled, and you could not go in there wet (safety not to make it slippery). And snorkeling up close took priority for us. But another option if your little one is afraid to go out on those floating rafts with windows. Side note: lunch served only after crew has anchored the boat, and given out snorkel lesson. So for 1:30-5 pm, it was around 3 pm. Just something to consider to ensure kiddoes eat lunch/snack earlier and not expecting 1:30 pm food. Food is high quality: fish and pork tacos (vegetarian options available, and 2 kinds of salads, as well as hot dogs. Water served throughout. Alcohol served after water activity concludes and prior to coming back to shore. Cookies (for all) and kids temp tattoos at the end. All in all, very family friendly, and witty fun for adults too. Good value!

Yelp
There must be chemistry between a team for it to function properly, and this team had it. We chose this boat in order to snorkel in the extinct Wailuku Crater. The workers also used trolling which is a method of fishing to catch 2 Ono fish. A worker brought one of the 3 foot Ono fish to my wife so I could get a picture. There were many people on the boat who went snorkeling, and had a wonderful time.
google avatar

Jonathan C.

Yelp
After looking for baby friendly activities, this seemed to be the best choice for a snorkel trip as they touted themselves as the most toddler friendly due to having a full glass bottom for toddlers to enjoy as well as little floats with a see-through window for kids comfortable in the ocean to view below (more on this later). Easy last minute reservation for next day and decided on the afternoon snorkel, since it was shorter (130-5pm). We took an Uber, since we heard that parking could be a challenge in the area, but there was plenty of parking along the harbor. Before entering the boat, they will take your order for what you want to eat (burger, grilled chicken, hot dog, veggie burger). Keep in mind that you won't be eating until around 3pm so you may need to eat beforehand. They also don't have anything on board if you are prone to motion sickness. It would have been nice if they had some ginger candy on board. The boat was only 1/3 filled, which allowed us plenty of time to sprawl with both an upper and lower deck. They will try to sell you on SNUBA, wet suits ($10, cash only) and photos. Water was calm enough that they took us to Molokini crater, which I was excited about. They mentioned that visibility is 100'+ vs. half that at Coral Gardens. The ride took about 30minutes and along the way, we saw plenty of whales. They had some muffins for people to munch on. Upon arriving, I was quite disappointed with the actual water life. There was barely any reef around where the boat was stationed, which meant that the glass-bottom boat was essentially useless. There was shallower reef a slight swim away, but again I wasn't very impressed by the sea life, especially for those who have been to Maldives/Bora Bora. Aside from burgers and chips, there wasn't much else to eat so keep expectations on food low (although they do grill on the boat!). They had Coors light, Modelo and Hard seltzer as your alcoholic options. Overall, Four Winds is an okay group to go if this is your first time snorkeling, but keep expectations low on the actual quality of the snorkeling. I personally wouldn't recommend Molokini crater as a "must-snorkel" site. What really took a star off was how "toddler" friendly the excursion is. The glass-bottom really isn't very useful if there isn't any sea life around the boat so I really would only recommend this to kids comfortable enough in the ocean and able to swim.

Yelp
Crew was amazing! Brian was especially awesome, while on the boat they fish as well and were even kind enough to let us set the lure. To make a long review short the crew was funny, hospitable, and just want you to have a good time. Photos are a bit expensive so I'd recommend using one of there watersafe phone cases but if you do get them its worth it!
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
We were a party of 8 for their snorkeling tour and it did not disappoint. The boat is large, the lunch they serve was tasty and the boat was not overcrowded. They have great photographers, underwater gear to use, chose one of the best places to see tons of underwater wildlife and they give you nearly 2 hours to snorkel. I recommend this place to even the most novice person. The crew is absolutely amazing.
google avatar

Gretchen T.

Yelp
The staff went above and beyond in every way. They made our family feel welcomed, safe and ready for fun. They seemed prepared for every scenario and were great about accommodating a variety of personalities on the boat.

Rob S.

Yelp
My family really enjoyed the snorkeling trip you took us on January 5th 2025 :-). You guys run a very professional, friendly tour, got to see a lot of whale activity, so no point going just whale watching when you can snorkel too . The boat looked brand new, and the diving was awesome, water was so much clearer and so many more fish than at Napili Beach where we stayed. It was our 20 year old son's first snorkeling experience and he loved it, as did I. Another thing I loved were the tacos and the ginger drink! Thanks again for a very wonderful, memorable experience!
google avatar

Zoya S.

Yelp
This company is awesome!! Our family of 3 went on the Molokini diving and snorkeling tour with them, and we could not be more happy! The crew worked very hard to provide us with every possible comfort, all you have to do is leisurely let yourself in the clearest water in the world and enjoy the amazing colorful underwater life unfolding right in front of you. Fun, safe, family-friendly - great tour, thank you all :))

Sandi G.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about the experience. Our family (11) of us with ages 6 to 81 went out on the morning tour. I hadn't books and was not thrilled when I say the size of the tour boat (55ft). I was sure it was not going to offer the experience or a smaller group. I WAS SO WRONG. The crew was fabulous. We boarded, picked up our breakfast of fresh fruit, muffins, croissants and beverages and then found seating space on top deck front. As we moved out in this very stable boat, crew came to us to get sizes and and distributed masks and snorkels, and picked up breakfast dishes. Then the whales came to play with us. Crew explained there was a "competition pod" in the bay. The competition pod is a group of male whales trying to get the attention of a single female whale. Twice on the way over we stopped for whales. Boat operators in Hawaii are very careful of the whales, no trying to get closer or to chase the whales. The whales came to us, swam around and under the boat. Best show ever. When we reached Molokini everyone had their gear and proceeded to enter the water. The youngest members of the group where not comfortable trying to use a mask. No problem, floating mini boats with a viewing window, made it possible to tow them around and experience, what in my estimation is the best or Hawaii (the underwater world). Lots of floatation belts and jackets were available for anyone who wished them. There was 2 hour allowed for snorkeling. We swam, used the water slide etc. as well as enjoyed the lunch of taco's and salads. Returning to Maui was another beautiful trip and more whales. WHAT A SPECIAL DAY.

Yelp
Easy to set up. We had checked this place out due to a recommendation. So a fair note, the parking link that was sent in our email was different from the one that was for the pier the boat is on. Apparently, that one was for a parking area that was along the way and didn't apply to the parking immediately nearby. Also, don't use the one that are for permits. As you're heading down the pier, there are parking spots on the right side. Those links work for both sides. It is also the same link as the one that they have at the booth as well in case you're wondering. The crew were friendly throughout and helpful with anything we had an issue with. We even got advice for other places to check out and snorkel around the island. We had taken the morning voyage out since we had read waters are less choppy. The weather also cleared up and it was bright and sunny thankfully. Our travels out there were easy heading out. While out there, we were able to talk with any of the workers watching over. The water was quite clear except next to where the waves were crashing. Other things for consideration, you can bring your own equipment as well. I have wide feet personally and the fins were generally for more narrow feet. I had to go a couple sizes up for them to work without causing any pain in my case. Thankfully I'm a strong swimmer so it worked either way, but would've been an easy fix.

Yelp
We took the afternoon snorkeling trip with my four year old and it was a blast. They had the little viewer floaters so she could see and we saw so many fish. The lunch was delicious and everyone on the staff was friendly and so helpful. They had temporary tattoos at the end of the trip and cookies. For sure one of my favorite things we did!

Joan S.

Yelp
Had a fantastic snorkeling trip on Monday. So much fun! We even got mugged by 3 whales! They were close enough to almost touch them. We also saw a ton of fish! The food was very tasty and the staff second to none. They made it so much fun with excellent customer service. A shout out to Amy on her food and we really enjoyed talking to her about her home country. Thanks for the traveling tips Amy! Thank you all for wonderful memories!

Yelp
Four Winds is the best snorkel tour! The crew is amazing, the boat is new and super clean, and the service is amazing! From the moment we stepped on the boat everyone was so helpful and friendly. Brian is awesome and gives great whale facts and other great local spots to visit! All of the equipment was clean andthe guides hopped in the water first The service is what set this tour apart from others, it's the Four Seasons of the sea! You are guaranteed to have a great time!

Yelp
AMAZING trip out snorkeling, with an awesome crew! Delicious food and so many good laughs. Anything you could need plus an open bar! We saw some cool fish, turtles & whales. Everyone on the boat was so friendly to us and the kids. THIS is the boat to book hands down while visiting Maui.

Yelp
I would like to give a huge shoutout to the Four Winds team. We had a great afternoon out to the coral reefs. I would like to give special recognition to Jesse and Philip, who got our kid into the ocean for the first time!

Yelp
Fun!!!!! We did the 3.5 hour afternoon snorkeling trip. The crew were friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated Crew in the water with us to make sure we felt safer with extra eyes on us!!

Yelp
Best choice of snorkel cruises in Maui! I researched all of them and was so glad I booked the afternoon cruise on Fair Winds III. The crew were all fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, engaging with all guests, great Ohana. They were particularly helpful working around my mobility limitations and making sure I was safe and confident on the boat and in the water. Oh, and I saw lots of fish! Absolute highlight of my trip to Hawaii!

Yelp
The entire trip was very enjoyable, engaging, fun and entertaining. An easy way to see the surrounding islands from a different vantage point. Great crew and a new boat make this and other voyages worth exploring.

Yelp
This experience was absolutely amazing! My wife and I decided to do the Snuba which was incredible! It was easy and the guide who took use was very experienced and knowledgeable. The food was delicious especially after being in the water for the amount of time we were underwater. The crew was polite and super friendly, the drinks were amazing especially Sprog which is sprite and pog mixed together!

Yelp
So I can't say enough great things about this specific snorkeling company! With sooooo many different ones it's so hard to choose but this one came highly recommended by a local so we thought we would give it a shot. We were not disappointed! This boat has super friendly staff that are so cool! They serve lunch bbq style hot dogs and hamburgers. Unfortunately when I heard bbq style I was hoping for traditional Hawaiian bbq but the American way was still delicious. My husband and I decided to do the snuba diving which turned out to be the highlight of our snorkel tour. Marcella the instructor was amazing although very serious while explaining everything however we understood why because you could die if you didn't follow instructions. She was through and honestly in the end one of the coolest people you will ever meet! I say if you take this snorkel tour try out the snuba it's totally worth it. Be prepared to spend an extra $150 if there's two of you doing it cause it's not included which kind of stinks but I get it cause she's independent. She was so amazing she made my husband and I want to get certified and go on a real dive! Being under for 35 minutes and hearing the whales was too amazing to describe. Also if you decide to go on a tour with them pick the afternoon tour. The morning tour has around 120 people where the afternoon has only around 50! It makes a huge difference plus you get to sleep in! There are plenty of other places that offer smaller snorkel tours and if you can get on one of those it may be better but they are booked so far in advance you gotta book early. This is a great alternative. Enjoy! Mahalo!

Yelp
The staff, crew and deckhands with Four Winds II are absolutely amazing, friendly and helpful! I had not snorkeled in the past (or if I have, it has been many many years since last doing so), but Four Winds II made the experience so easy and enjoyable overall. I ended up snorkeling for about 30-40 minutes out of the 1 hour of snorkel time we were allotted, and I would certainly return to do it again down the road. Morning and afternoon snorkel tours are offered daily and of course they always strive to go to Molokini Crater first, though there are weather and ocean conditions especially in the afternoon session that can affect the destination route. The alternate location is Coral Gardens (near Lahaina). I took the afternoon snorkel tour on a Saturday and our captain mentioned that for the afternoon tours, they have only been able to go to Molokini Crater like 20 times out of the entire year, and again it is because of unpredictable and constantly changing conditions. Best to get to their dock early to find a good parking spot nearby, and the check-in process is pretty smooth overall. You will get your snorkel gear when you enter the boat (if you don't, then the staff will come around and check in with you to make sure you are prepared). They also have SNUBA and scuba diving available from my understanding. Follow their instructions and safety tips, and you will do just fine! There is even a 101 session on snorkeling especially for first-timers or inexperienced swimmers prior to getting into the water. Also on the way to and from Molokini Crater, you might catch whales breaching from the ocean (during the season) and sometimes even bottle-nosed dolphins! As for the food included with the snorkel tours, it is awesome and BBQ styled! Loved their burgers (especially the vegetarian/vegan options) and self-serve ingredients; lettuce, tomatoes, onions. Chips are also offered along with non-alcoholic drinks (POG juice, water) and alcoholic beverages. Though I do not drink, I should point out that the alcoholic drinks are only served after the conclusion of scuba, snorkeling, and SNUBA. Overall, wonderful and lovely experience and again, all of the crew, staff, and deckhands are wonderful and awesome and deserve some great tips!

Yelp
We took this boat trip and learned how to snorkel around the Molokini Crater. The staff were very friendly, especially Jessie, who took time to talk with us and explain some tips on snorkeling. Never having snorkeled before, we were somewhat nervous and hesitant. The staff on the boat gave excellent instructions on how to snorkel and were on the water watching everyone, and offering help, if needed. What I was not happy about was lunch was served after 3pm while everyone was out snorkeling. Yes the boat trip started at 12, but we had thought lunch would be served sooner than 3 and we didn't prepare ourselves. As a result, when we were out in the water we were very hungry and came back to the boat, when lunch was served. After we ate, then they pulled everyone in and said that's it, we are finished. So we only really had like 20-30 minutes to snorkel. We were wondering why lunch wasn't served while we sailed for an hour to get to Molokini, then we could snorkel without having to stop for lunch.

Yelp
I am a repeat customer. The staff and services were as excellent as I remembered in 2015. I appreciated Brian's 101 for Beginning Snorkeling. Floating and watching the sea life is a really cool experience that I recommend everyone do at least once. Lunch was provided. Pulled pork was as excellent as we remembered! And, seeing whales was the icing on the cake.

Yelp
We went on the PM snorkel to CORAL GARDENS on 3/26. We were able to book the reservation on the same day. The check-in time was 1pm & they waited for families to show up until 1:30pm. The crew was friendly. They provided tacos for lunch. They also offered alcoholic beverages, soda, and juice. They came around with cookies on the way back to the harbor. Special shout-out to crew member Max! When we boarded the boat he acknowledged that we were from here. As soon as we started sailing he came around and asked us what brought us here and went over everything they had to offer.

Yelp
We had a great time with Four Winds. Unfortunately, it was storming and windy so we couldn't go to Monokini Crater. The Captain was great and took us to a safer snorkeling spot where we saw turtles, colorful fish and got to utilize the slide and glass bottom of the ship. Also got to go whale watching while eating lunch. Food was good, breakfast is an array of muffins, fresh fruit, coffee and pog. For lunch, you have the option of a hot dog, pulled pork sandwich, vegan option or burger (I believe). They'll ask you when you board in the am then order it at the bar inside. Also open bar :) staff was friendly and you have an option to buy photographs from the underwater camera man. Good experience overall! Will be back in hopes to go to the crater.

Yelp
This company cares about a safe & reliable experience for their customers! We were signed up to do the Four Winds II Snorkel Molokini Crater tour on Monday 1/10/22, but conditions were not favorable. They went on to look for two other locations for safe & visible snorkeling and it just wasn't possible. This being said, the crew took care of us with breakfast in route to our destinations, we had a fantastic whale show. While this wasn't a whale trip, it turned out better than our actual whale trip the previous week. The crew was knowledgeable and fun. Captain Sam was so apologetic that he couldn't get in the water and he had no control over the water conditions. He radioed ahead to let the administrative staff know what was occurring and they were all prepared to reach out to the customers to refund monies or book another outing. Had we no further activities planned we would go out with them again. Thanks for caring!

Yelp
Crew on the four winds was awesome - 5 star service! Boat was clean and great 1 hour trek over to molakini for an hour of snorkeling or scuba as an upgrade (tour comes with a cooked lunch - burgers, chicken sandwich, hot dog, or Boca Burger and drinks - alcohol and non alcohol beverages). We went in Nov and saw some humpback whales but if you go from Jan - Mar you should see many (snorkel tour w bonus of whale watching as well) Be sure to bring lots of sunscreen, water, and towels. Will definitely go on the tour again and would recommend. We went with two kids under 3 and survived - sun and boat ride can be tough for little ones. We went on the afternoon tour.

Yelp
Fun, knowledgeable guides. New boat and good equipment and instruction. A fabulous lunch and free drinks. Excellent service throughout the tour. We had a blast! Also the boat was not huge and overcrowded like other excursions.
