"Four65 Bistro is known for its 'woodfire pizza and atmosphere,' notes Braucher, but the restaurant also offers fresh salads, cast-iron sandwiches, and rosé. When the weather is nice, you’ll want to dine alfresco on the terrace." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Google
Great pizza and meatball sub. A bit overpriced, but excellent quality. The salad was also great, but the chicken wasn't grilled as expected. The service was mediocre. Nice and polite, but not very attentive.

Jennifer Bentley

Google
Love this place! The salads are REALLY good and the pizza is delish. Cute little place in the highlands for a nice bite. We had a large party so the service was as good as could be.

Google
All around great dining experience! The atmosphere and friendliness of the staff were first rate! We were in Highlands for only three days and had several great dining experiences but we had to go back to Four65 a second time the last night of our visit. We had salads and pizza both meals and they were wonderful. Recommend the Hot Pig pizza if you like a little jalapeño!

Michael Panyard

Google
Glad they had gluten free options (good cauliflower crust) but for the surcharge it would be nice if they cut the pieces all the way through (was a bit tough to cut with knife and fork). The toppings were delicious and the Ceasar salad was great (our family of 4 was able to have a nice serving each by splitting the small). The service was a bit slow, but it did seem busy. Very friendly and would definitely come back again

Google
Very good pizza and unique flavors! Mountain Fungi was our favorite, but the classic flavors were a hit as well. Service is great and food is cooked super fast. Very much enjoyed the fresh pizza. Prices are fair since the pizza’s are higher quality

Google
Had dinner tonight…we ate at the bar and had a wonderful experience. Kennedy was our bartender and server. She is very special, knows her food and wine options. ALL WITH A SMILE! I had margarita pizza and Judy had pizza with arugula and prosciutto, both were amazing. A bottle of Honig and we were in heaven!! For dessert we had strawberry shortcake and it to was awesome. I absolutely love the restaurant and the whole ambience. We always eat here whenever we are in Highlands.

Google
Busy little bistro in downtown Highlands. Had a Margherita Pizza with sausage and it was good but slightly too burnt on the bottom for my taste. Gf had a salad and she loved it. Expensive, but everything in Highlands is.

Google
Fantastic dinning experience. Food was great, prices reasonable. Bartender was fantastic at making specialty drinks. Family friendly. Plenty od space inside an out. My new favorite restaurant!

Yelp
Located in downtown Highlands,NC, this bistro has the best woodfire pizza! We were out that way looking at waterfalls when we stumbled on this adorable town. This place is very nice inside. Honestly, I was a little worried there might be a dress code from the way it looked when we walked in. Glad I was wrong because not only was the pizza chef's kiss quality, but our server, Will, was amazing! Checked in often and made sure drinks were filled even when he was incredibly busy. We felt super comfortable as the place was incredibly relaxed.

Yelp
Our recent visit to Four65 was a delightful experience, especially with their antipasti for two. The presentation was beautiful, with a well-curated selection that showcased a range of flavors and textures. From fresh cheeses and charcuterie to marinated vegetables and flavorful olives, each bite brought something unique. The portions were generous and perfect for sharing, making it an ideal way to start the meal. The ambiance at Four65 added to the charm, providing a cozy yet refined setting that felt perfect for Highlands. Definitely a spot worth revisiting for anyone who loves quality small plates and a warm atmosphere!

Yelp
Went for a relaxed dinner and this totally hit the spot, nice but casual and comfortable while having good ambiance and great service. The Drunken Mussels and Prosciutto Pizza make me want to explore the rest of the menu as well!

Brooklyn R.

Yelp
Four65 is a charming bistro offering Italian options like wood-fired pizza, meatball subs, and pasta. We were especially impressed with the grilled cheese with truffle aioli and root vegetable soup. The outdoor patio is delightful in the summer.

Glenn G.

Yelp
Wonderful experience, Lisa was the best waitress! Awesome greek salad for $8 and wonderful pizzas! The mussels are a must!!

Kyle D.

Yelp
Overall: A solid upscale pizza option for the area. The good: Fast, friendly and attentive service, even though we were seated outside. It was quite crowded and was an hour wait to eat inside, but luckily no wait for outside. Plenty of pizza options to choose from. The dough was chewy and the crust was charred and flaky, which is just what you want. The not-so-good: The pizza was good, but not great, and the price didn't reflect that expectation. Needed a little more sauce and toppings. Outside didn't have enough heat lamps, but luckily we had blankets thanks to our baby. Food/drink: 8/10 Atmosphere: 8.5/10 Service: 9/10

Yelp
Wonderful late lunch on the patio at Four65! We started with cocktails and the Artichoke dip. I loved my Mountain Margarita (with muddled blackberries). My husband didn't love his Kentucky Fig... the bourbon flavor was lacking. The Artichoke dip was FABULOUS and you must have it! My son wanted a more traditional pizza so our server suggested a Margherita with extra cheese and he gobbled it up! We shared the Burata Strawberry salad and it was delicious. Service was kind and knowledgeable but a bit slow. Regardless it was a wonderful meal and we'll be back for sure!

Danielle K.

Yelp
This place is beautifully placed in this small town with a great homey and local feel inside. We had to wait since we came at dinner time and the area was busy for this time of year. It didn't bother us because we got a chance to walk around the town before our table was ready. I had a strawberry lemonade that was really delicious and I had to have a second. The pizzas are amazing and freshly made. I had their white pizza which amazing and we got to enjoy the inside and people watch, one of our favorite things to do. Service was great, kept our drinks filled and our stomachs happy.

Kathleen A.

Yelp
Last year, a stranger recommended this place to me. I kept my promise and came! It did not disappoint! Dress code: smart casual My husband and I split everything. We ordered the Marinara pizza, it has no cheese, with basil and garlic. We decided to add mushrooms to it. It was very good. The tomatoes are the star of this pizza, the San marzano tomato sauce 10/10. The mushrooms lended an earthy taste that paired perfectly with the charred bits of the pizza. The side salad was great! Though since we were splitting everything I think next time we will order the "large" salad and save our selves $4 for the price difference. The ovened salad was great, while still maintaining the crisp and not wilted. The "over the top" for my husband was the addition of hot oil on the pizza he asked for a little side so he could drizzle on the pizza. Service was easy, we put our name for the wait list (30m) and was texted when our table was ready, and our waitress was kind.

Yelp
Clean and nice interior. Staff friendly. Warm Ceasar salad was excellent. Pizza made in special pizza ovens Neapolitan style thin crust. Crust was excellent and charred. Ingredients all fresh. Middle of crust slightly soggy. Had dessert of ala mode warm apple crisp which was excellent.

Zach W.

Yelp
Our favorite spot in Highlands. Incredible pizza, and you must try the soup. The food is always spot on, the drinks are great, service is wonderful, and the ambiance is perfect. There's a big TV at the bar if you want to watch the game, too.

Krystle M.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with a girlfriend before heading to an aerial park for some ziplining! The restaurant was nice to accommodate our desire to sit inside after first being introduced to an unideal two-top table outside. Al fresco seating is available but dining inside offers a bright and welcoming ambiance. I enjoyed a glass of the rose wine and we started with the artichoke dip, which I found to be a little too watery and the breadsticks lacked flavor. My friend had and LOVED the Cherrywood Farm Greek Salad. I ordered a margherita pizza which was delicious! The only aspect of it that I didn't love was that it was a little burnt on the bottom. I realize that is common of woodfired pizza so it's of no consequence. Four65 offers decent food at fair prices, so it's worth stopping by if you're in the area and in the mood for some pizza!

Andrew G.

Yelp
On our last day in the area, we decided to go a little upscale. We arrived at 6:45 and waited about 30 minutes for a table. But oh, it was worth it!!! We sat outside on the patio in an area that resembles an Italian cafe. Although the service staff was great, it seems as if they were understaffed, with multiple staff members serving our table and a long wait to receive our drinks. In terms of food and drink, it doesn't get much better. I ordered the mountain marg which had a nice berry note. The antipasto had a solid variety of munchies, but the bread options seemed a bit stale. The Hot Pig was so worth branching out from our normal order. The jalapeños added so much solid flavor and heat that cut through the cheese. I know we will be back the next time in town.

Jeff J.

Yelp
This is some of the best pizza I've ever had, and not, just in NC! I'd be happy being served these pies in NYC. Crust is outstanding - hand tossed but very thin, as it should be. Both red and white sauces are excellent. I've had the meatball and ricotta pie twice, and the fungi pie with arugula once, and both were excellent! Salads are great too (I'm partial to the Cesar but all sound great) and the small size is easily enough for two. This is hands down my go to spot in the Highlands!

Aaron M.

Yelp
Great food and great service with a really cool ambience! The pizza is amazing and the Greek salad is the best I've ever had.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Yummmm. Brussels and Bacon pizza. Perfect for 2-3 people. Delicate crust, perfectly charred. Fresh toppings. Delish.

Debra S.

Yelp
Open to the public I called to check ( I say this because on google search it was confusing. It said members and hotel guest only. Not sure what that was about, having never been to Highlands before) Fun atmosphere! We were sat right away however we did eat early dinner at 5:15 pm. I got the wine flight brought out on a nice wooden holder. The pizzas are definitely big enough for two people. We ordered two so we would have leftovers for lunch the next day. The Margarita and the Meat lovers and added the peppadew peppers to half. They were so good on the pizza!! A sweet slight heat flavor. I asked for extra marinara sauce to dip the crust in. Yum! The crust was thin and think on the edges. So yummy! We will definitely be back

Allison T.

Yelp
Located on the property of the Old Edwards Inn this Bistro Bar has such a charming ambiance! The salads were fresh and crisp. The pizza crust is in my top 3 favorites ever!! Yum!

John R.

Yelp
Highly recommend, everything in the menu...especially the Hot Pig. Little bit of heat, little bit of sweet. So yummy!

Debi W.

Yelp
We got here at 5:30p and had no trouble getting a table on a Saturday night. But it started getting busy shortly after. We had the Farm House Greek Salad-small and split it between the two of us. Plenty to share. The peppadews made the salad extra special. We ordered the margarita pizza and added pepperoni. We wouldn't do that again. The slices were large and made the pizza greasy. Keep it as it comes for the best experience. Service was fast and friendly. We Loved the vibe here. And the bottles of water left on your table to pour as needed was a nice touch.

Lorri D.

Yelp
I do it to myself every time I come here...over order! I like so many things on the menu, and I never wanna leave without having pizza. The decor inside and outside is super cute and in the summertime the patio seating is excellent. Not pictured, but the anti-pasta for two is enough for four as an appetizer and it has a ton of yummy. It's on it!

Marissa N.

Yelp
We were out visiting a wedding venue and stopped for pizza. It was pretty good, they got the order wrong and fixed it right away and very appropriately. The meat on the brussel sprout option seemed a bit undercooked but there were no I'll effects. I think our favorite was the mushroom. We didn't like the pizza slice shaped plates at all, they felt crampe

Cindy D.

Yelp
We've visited twice and had the most amazing food both times. Loved the smoked shrimp cocktail, build-your-own charcuterie board, and perfect pizzas!

Cal R.

Yelp
We ordered two pizzas (takeout). Pizza was excellent. Thin and crispy. The only downside is they limit topping additions (no changes). Highly recommend!

julie c.

Yelp
What a great place! Freda gave us excellent service, including some great suggestions. The food was great, we had the antipasti for 2, burrata salad and the mussels. We both agreed we could have drunk the mussel broth straight it was so good.

Mason W.

Yelp
If all we did was eat here, it would still be a wonderful experience--we found the pork meatballs and wood-fired vegetable soup particularly stellar. But our circumstances were unique: we found ourselves dining at this Four65 in the middle of a family emergency. The staff was BEYOND caring and patient with us as we figured out what to do, ate in shifts and ordered to-go for those of us who had to depart early. In addition, the manager and servers went above and beyond to follow up on our well-being and assist as they were able. Our emergency turned out okay, but these folks were really there for us when we weren't sure it would. We left the restaurant not just pleased with the food but impressed with and affected by everyone's hospitality. Go to support the hearty cooking, but also to support those who were so supportive of these troubled out-of-towners!

Yelp
We were in downtown Highlands on a cold, drizzly, January day. There wasn't much to do so we decided to do some shopping. The men in our group really wanted to watch football and a local shop owner recommended Four65 Woodfire Bistro Bar because it had good food and a bar where the guys could watch football while the women shopped. (The plan was for everyone to meet up after a few hours and have lunch together.) The place is decorated in a really cute way with a beautiful bar, quaint tables, and lovely lighting accents. The menu features a selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and wood-fired pizzas. There was also a full bar and a really friendly bartender. My husband ordered a soup/sandwich combo with the wood-fired root vegetable soup and a cast-iron hot Italian sandwich. He thought the soup was spicy and delicious and the sandwich was good with fresh bread that was chewy, yet crispy on the outside . My daughter had the small Cherrywood Farm Greek salad. She said it was just o.k., kind of boring. I ordered the Mountain Fungi pizza. I really, really loved the crust! There were lots of yummy mushrooms, and the pizza was also topped with arugula. I really enjoyed it and it was definitely big enough for 2. My mom and my sister ordered the Bacon and Brussel Sprouts pizza and the garlic breadsticks. Their pizza was drizzled with aioli and the bacon was more like a thinly sliced ham, (pancetta.). It was good, but none of us really loved it....it was definitely unique with strange ingredient pairing so we had to give it a try. The breadsticks were delicious! The dough had the same flavor as the pizza crust and it came with a marinara sauce for dipping. Everyone loved it! Overall we enjoyed hanging out at Four65. The service was very good and the ambience was amazing! We liked most of our food selections, and there are plenty more options on the menu for us to try next time. (And we're definitely getting the breadsticks again!)

Yelp
During a recent visit to Highlands, my wife and I were rained out of a hike and decided to go into town to have an early dinner and drinks. We decided on pizza and went to Four65 Woodfire Bistro. Four65 is a semi casual pizza restaurant in the Old Edwards Inn. It has a very nice ambience. I have a gluten intolerance and they offer gluten-free pizza, which is one of the reasons we decided to go there and it was one of the best gluten-free pies I've ever had, hands-down. The portion sizes were generous. The food was great and the service was exceptional. They have a great wine list and full bar and cocktail menu as well. We would definitely go back again. Next time we are in the area.

Alex E.

Yelp
I love, love, loveeeee Four65! It's the one place I *have* to go when we are in Highlands! The menu has lots of options, and everything always looks so yummy! My personal favs are the Green Salad and a pizza (always, pizza. I've had a couple different ones, and they are all delicious!). Bonus: I have a garlic allergy, and the fact that they make their red sauce without garlic just can't be beat for me. Service is great; refilled our drinks quickly and were on top of things. It's a super cute ambiance; more on the fancy end of the spectrum, as far as pizza places go. 5/5 stars!

John B.

Yelp
I definitely recommend this place. We have been coming here since it opened and it never disappoints. Kids love the polpette (meatballs) and I highly recommend the margarita pizza with pepadew peppers and the grilled Caesar salad. They don't take reservations which is great because we have never had an issue getting a table. Service is quick and the open kitchen environment is fast paced and not too formal.

Sarah C.

Yelp
We had the Prosciutto Pizza and the Grilled Cheese with Chili, both were very good. I do wish they allowed reservations since it can get pretty busy; we were originally given a pretty long wait time, but were able to group up with another couple to split a larger table. We also wished the stools had backs on them because it was a little tough on our backs without one. But overall, we had a good experience and would recommend it!

Chris C.

Yelp
I decided to take shelter from the rain and the vibe was immaculate! However, the pizza was subpar. The sauce was so watery it was dripping off the cardboard thin crust and onto my pants. Do not eat pizza here! The soup was bomb.com and really saved the day though.

Nunya B.

Yelp
Lisa, our waitress, recommended a large Cesar for two of us.. It was huge Our veggie pizza was undercooked.. paper thin..very, few, tiny veggies We had two 8 year old girls and the waitress said that their cheese pizzas were small. We ordered two and they were also huge We ate the cheese pizza because our veggie pizza was so bad. Cookie dessert was scalding hot and our waitress Lisa said nothing.. Both kids burned their hands and not in a fun way..

Dennis P.

Yelp
This place is fantastic from top to bottom. Nice beer selection including many local brews. Service was timely and pleasant. Pizza was great, flour and sauce all fresh from Italy. Baked 90 seconds at 905 degrees. Delicious. Meatball sub was also great, pork meatballs provolone cheese and San Mariano sauce

Dawn R.

Yelp
We came here for dinner and got one of the last tables. Anywhere in Highlands, you may want to call ahead for reservations. We got the Meats pizza, a hot tea, and the lemoncello crumble cake for dessert. The pizza was meh.... but you know what they say about pizza..... The pizza was black and burnt in some places so I had to tear those places off the crust. The pizza ($20) was supposedly woodfired, so that may be why. It was very thin with just a little sauce, a little cheese, and a little bit of toppings. My hot tea was really cute served in pottery and I really enjoyed it. The dessert was so so. The berries were really good and it was attractive when served, but the cake itself tasted like it had been made several days before. It didn't taste very lemony. Our total bill was around $40. Our waitress was nice and the atmosphere was really pretty. It's an ok place if you just want to get something to eat but don't really care what.

Jack D.

Yelp
All of it Divine! Clean vibrant atmosphere... ovens are just rad... highlands has raised the bar in "hip" with creation and success of @Four65 ... keep up the great customer service!! Highly recommend

Autumn S.

Yelp
Napoletana Pizza was amazing! We had this with a Caesar salad and it was a great lunch. Would recommend.

Dolores M.

Yelp
We were looking forward to eating here but the waitress served water and disappeared. It was late afternoon and the menu looked fabulous. Ally would have received a nice tip if she would have come back to take our order. We went elsewhere.

Lucy R.

Yelp
This place is unexpected. It's so pretty inside and the pizza was delish!!! Would definitely return!

Beau S.

Yelp
We visited Highlands for the day on Father's Day and stopped in for lunch. The servers were nice and knowledgeable and the pizza was fantastic. If you order a salad (even a small one) it is big enough for two people. Highly recommend it if you are in the area. We will go back there soon.

Pat M.

Yelp
We had some amazing lunches at Four65 in downtown Highlands, next to Old Edward's Inn. Both times our wait staff, Will & Donald, were welcoming, attentive & made you feel like they were glad to see you (& that they were happy to be there!), which (sad to say) is not always our experience at restaurants these days, realizing how hard it is to find enough really good staff. The food was amazing. The mussels (& focaccia bread), soup (& bread) & wonderful pizzas were to die for. We had to go back. Did I mention how great the bread & olive oil was?!? Everything was perfect, including the beautiful unique ceramic dish ware they use. (Please don't ever change!) The craft cocktails were awesome. On the way out we noticed their food inspection rating was 100 --- and it showed! When every staff member takes great pride in every aspect of food, drink & service, well, that's how you deliver a delightful dining experience to your guests! Can't wait til the next time!

Sabra K.

Yelp
If you like to sit at a bar, watch sports AND have good food- this is the spot! The bartenders are always great and make the craziest craft cocktails! Good pizza. Great salads. Always consistent and no reservations needed.

Brendie W.

Yelp
We were visiting Highlands, NC during December which is off season for a long weekend. We stayed at Old Edwards Inn with our two year old son. We wanted something that was close and not to fancy for a toddler to enjoy. This was perfect. This was fancy, yet not over the top to bring a toddler on a cold drizzling wet day. We had a pizza, and it was perfect. The wood fire pizza crust was delicious! The best pizza I have had in a long time. It was just a simple mozzarella and pepperoni pizza. It was fresh, and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They had lots of beers on tap. They had a great wine selection.

Gary H.

Yelp
This is our second or third time to this restaurant while visiting Highlands. I wanted to try it a few times to make sure what I was eating each time was consistent. And it is! What a great little place. They have a pretty interesting menu when it comes to types of food. But the food you get is absolute flavortown! Do not miss this stop while in town. We have had salads, wood fire pizza and grilled cheese sammies. Each was spectacular and full of great flavor. The last visit, we enjoyed the artichoke, plum and arugula pizza. I know, I know...that's not a "real" pizza. But let me tell you, this was a real deal pizza just exploding with taste and originality. YUM! Just try it. The pizzas are all one size. Roughly a 14" pie. We coupled this pizza with the Greek salad and their "root" soup. The full salad is big enough to split if your having other food. I could eat that salad all day. So good. They add a side of their baked bread with that salad. We always order more of the bread because it is fresh and delish. The root soup is full of veggies and an undeniable flavor. This is truly a favorite of mine. The last item was a thick grilled cheese. A straight The atmosphere is really cozy. It's kind of a smaller space, so keep that in mind if you've got a larger group. The service each time we've been there has been friendly and attentive. Worth the stop.

Charla J.

Yelp
My husband and I are visiting Highland, NC and for dinner we stopped by Four65. There was about a 30-40 minute wait but it was worth it. We drove around and then waited in our car until they texted us that our table was ready. When we walked in I was very impressed by the decor. There was a tree in the middle of the restaurant!! So charming! We weren't sure what type of menu to expect, but we quickly learned that they serve pizza!!! I was a little nervous because I have a gluten allergy but thankfully they had gluten free options available! When my pizza arrived, it was placed on this cute little stand. I was very excited!! And I was pleasantly surprised that this gluten free pizza was SO delicious!!! Probably the BEST Gluten Free pizza I've had to date!! I fell in love with the triangle plates to use for my pizza! The staff was very friendly, greeted us with smiles and they were very helpful!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would eat here again!

Paige M.

Yelp
The burrata salad and the meatball / ricotta pizza are the absolute best. Always consistent and delicious. Lovely atmosphere - ate outside on the patio this time. Waitress was awesome! Best drink on the menu - northern lights!

Austyn J.

Yelp
1. Amazing bartender Cody. Sat at the bar and he was so great, so fun to watch make all the drinks, hard working and funny! 2. Amazing food. Everything was SO GOOOOD. Get the artichoke dip for sure. 3. Amazing people watching. Seriously if you're in town go here for amazing food and drinks in a stunning space! Can't wait to come back!!

Jeff D.

Yelp
5 star service, worst pizza in the area. First of all this is NOT a sports bar as told to us by the hotel. There are 2 tvs and one is blocked by a giant chandelier. I didn't think you could mess up spinach artichoke dip, but I was wrong. Ours contained a glob of frozen spinach that was even thawed. This was followed by a marinara pizza that was undercooked and soggy. For 4 people to have no interest in finishing a pizza, tells you how bad it was. On the good side, the small Greek salad was delicious and the server was fun and engaging.

Jim K.

Yelp
You only find wood fired pizza this good in Europe....and Highlands. We had a great dining experience at Four65 with terrific service and outstanding food. Highly recommended.
