This rental car company delivered one of the worst rental experiences I have ever had.
After an 11-hour flight from London, I arrived at LAX completely exhausted. I then waited more than 20 minutes for the shuttle, with no clear communication and no indication of when it would arrive. A run- down, dirty, bombed-out bus picked me up. After finally reaching the off-airport location, I was met with another 20-minute wait in a growing line just to reach the counter for my prepaid reservation.
The service only deteriorated from there. The agent who assisted me, Feven, was dismissive, abrasive, and unprofessional from the outset. Instead of a straightforward pickup, I was subjected to aggressive upselling while simply trying to collect the vehicle and leave. Given my exhaustion, the lack of basic courtesy made the interaction significantly worse.
The most troubling issue was the sudden addition of nearly $400 for liability insurance, described as a California requirement. At no point during the booking process—while researching, reserving, or reviewing my confirmation—was this cost clearly disclosed. As a result, my three-week rental effectively doubled in price at the counter. Renters should be aware of California’s insurance requirements in advance, because this company does not make them transparent during the booking process and instead presents them at pickup as an expensive add-on.
When I finally received the vehicle—more than an hour after landing—it was not what I expected. The tires appeared underinflated, the exterior was still wet from a wash, the interior was dirty, and the car had visible cosmetic damage.
I strongly advise reconsidering before booking here. Paying slightly more for a reputable company is worth avoiding the stress, lack of transparency, and unprofessional service I experienced.
