Derek and the team were fantastic during my stay - the bunkhouse was warm and comfortable and great for a single traveller provided they don’t mind sharing. I stayed during the massive snow dump in November so couldn’t get out too much. Frustrating but the cafe was spot on too!

Love this place, having previously had breakfast, but just popped in for a coffee with a mate to set us up for a monster yomp across the Moor. Great service, good prices, breakfast is nice, coffee is ace!! It is lovely to have a look around Princetown if you ever visit. 👌

Fox Tor Cafe is a gem in Princetown and was a trusty hideyhole during November’s snow dump. I stayed in the bunkhouse as a solo traveller, sharing with others for three nights. The bunkhouse is clean, warm and nothing is too much for Derek, the owner. Would recommend!

This cafe is a gem. Price was great full breakfast with a tea and a orange juice for under £10 was delicious. Great atmosphere with great staff thanks again 👍

Brilliant spot of lunch and afternoon tea. Generous serving of cream and jam. Good sandwiches too.

Love this little cafe in Princetown. Had a lovely Salcombe ice cream and cup of tea (with alternative oat milk available!) for a good price. I think most items from the menu are locally sourced. Service was quick and there was plenty of tables and parking with the new ANPR system (3 hours register inside). Nice to see they allow dogs inside to! Wheelchair accessible from the front entrance to!

The service was great. Coffees and cake were excellent. A little on the pricey side. Bought takeaway sandwiches, which were nice and chunky but didn't have any salad or sauce or anything extra. A ham sandwich was just that ..ham and bread so made them a little dry. Good atmosphere though and seemed busy.

Fox Tor Cafe is a must-visit location in the moorland town of Princetown. Very clean and very welcoming, it's a fantastic place for light bites, a coffee, or a full meal. The ploughman's lunches are excellent. Free parking out back (you MUST register inside) and lovely clean toilets.

Yelp
Love this little cafe and regularly visit. Nice bit plates of food with a great selection of hot meals, cold sandwiches etc and cakes. The all day breakfast is immense. Cream teas, hot chocolates. Dartmoor souvenirs. Proper logs fires in the winter and a lovely outside seating area for the summer. Parking.

Yelp
I have to give these guys 5 stars for saving my life. The sun had long set and it was painfully cold by the time I reached their cafe from a hike to King Tor. There were no customers and they were already cleaning up and shutting down for the night when I asked if they'd be ok with seating me for a cream tea. Everything in town was closed, I was half frozen solid and still waiting for a bus. They thankfully obliged. Their tea itself was pretty standard, but the devonshire cream was amazing. The gooey-est and freshest of any devon creams i had sampled in England. They say they get it from a near by farm. I would make a trip to Princetown just for that cream tea again.
