Food was cooked perfectly. First night I got the chicken fried steak and honestly was probably the best chicken fried steak I've ever had. Mashed potatoes and the vegetables were also cooked perfectly. My daughter got the BBQ salmon. Second night I had the pot roast and she had the BBQ pork shank. Both were very tasty and fork tender. Had to wait 15 minutes for a table first night around 6pm. Second night got there at 5pm and was seated right away. I'm surprised to see 3.8 out of 5 stars because our meals were really good.

Google
Options are limited up at Snowshoe for a late dinner, we lucked out big time here. We dove straight in with entrees and loved our choices. Hubby had the catfish po-boy and it was great but my dinner was the bomb / pork shank! Fell off the bone, so flavorful. Loved it. Service was amazing too. Really enjoyed Damon our super friendly & efficient server. Great evening out!

Google
Excellent food and service. French fries were great. I really can’t think of a negative thing to say.

Google
Best restaurant I’ve ever had in WV. Definitely try when you come to the village. The wings and pork shank are the best!

Google
If you can get a chance to eat here, you should. The fried catfish was wonderful, and the shrimp were tender and juicy.

Google
When at Snowshoe I always stop here for dinner. Good variety on the menu. I usually get the BBQ platter. Its for two so it will give you plenty of leftovers. During ski season get there before 5:30 or the wait gets intense.

Google
We were here on Super Bowl Sunday. The food was amazing. I could not believe it satisfied my picky children and me all at the same time. Even the sauces were above and beyond what one would expect from a slope side pub. I only wish I took a picture of the salmon, it looked too pretty to eat. The only thing better than the food was the friendly and attentive wait staff. The prices were very reasonable. This is a must do if heading to Snowshoe.

Google
Really enjoyed this place, something for everyone, food and service were really good, nice and friendly staff! We ate here on a Sunday afternoon, only had to wait about 20 minutes to get seated. We thought the prices were very reasonable for the food that you got, and are pretty comparable to many other restaurants even not at a ski resort/village. We ordered a variety of food from sandwiches to salad to burgers, the hangover sammich I think it was called (chicken fried steak with an egg) was so good and unique. We left happy and full! Desserts looked amazing but we had no room left, maybe next time.

Yelp
Average food. Good service . Very nice ambiance. My only complaint is that the cooks don't wear beard guards yet all the cooks have beards.

Yelp
Probably the best restaurant in the village with great service, drinks, and reasonable and delicious food options. It was quite lively inside when we went for lunch and saw it was packed when walking past during dinner time.
google avatar

Yelp
Would rate this a 4.5/5. Food is about a 4 and service 5. Hawg Ribs was nothing special but tasty. Service was very fast(a plus!), servers were friendly and food came quick. Would definitely come here again

Yelp
Not a great experience. Ordered Chipotle chicken burger with fries, Mediterranean pizza and hummus with veggies and pita bread. I must say none of them tasted good. The chicken in the burger was grilled but so hard that I cannot bite. The Mediterranean pizza was made in a very thin tortilla instead of a bread which made it difficult to take a whole bite and the pita bread in hummus was very crispy like flour chips when it is suppose to be soft and chewable. Except the food, everything else was okay be it service or ambience.
google avatar

Dhilip R.

Yelp
As a vegetarian, I wouldn't recommend this place. Though they have a separate section for vegetarians with 3 dishes but they don't satisfy your needs for a meal. My order: Veggie Mediterranean pizza Pita - Hummus The bread/pita for the pizza was soft and soggy with the toppings and it's a super thin crust with weird combinations of vegetables. The pita was super baked soft and loved that and the hummus was good. Still the dishes weren't enough for a meal and super expensive for each of those dishes. Nah, I won't return!

Yelp
Tough to find good food at the top of the mountain. This place is a standout. Steak salad was fresh greens and vegetables with perfectly cooked steak. Will be back.

Hadi S.

Yelp
The food was amazing. I recommend build a burger. The service was great. The waiter was extremely nice and the food came super fast and I highly recommend this restaurant for anybody who wants a nice family dinner and very cozy and warm environment

Yelp
Big, big fan of this place when we are skiing on the mountain. The service is always very good, and the food is delicious. We've really enjoyed the chicken wings, gyro, chipotle chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, buffalo chicken dip (delicious!), and the prime rib sandwich (very tender meat). The have a good drink selection, and I enjoy their hot drinks (especially on a cold, snowy mountain day). Totally expect to come back here on our next trip to Snowshoe Mountain.

Yelp
Service was great, we were there on a Thursday and there wasn't any wait. It is definitely a cozy mountain restaurant that is good for groups and kids. While our food choices were tasty I can't really complain but definitely "mountain pricing" for the level of food. Adding in some recent photos of menus as the prices from the old ones have definitely increased.

Jodi H.

Yelp
Party of 2 we ate both nights there. The service was amazing. Hostess and waitress were amazing. The food was great. Got different items each night. Priced accordingly. Food came out in a timely matter. Would highly recommend. In our opinion the only thing Snowshoe has going for it. They've got it together in all areas. Keep up the great work and food.

Yelp
If you eat here, go with the pork shank. One of their better dishes. Pass on the Gyro. Worst, I have had, and the country fried chicken is another to pass. It had a greasy off flavor. Perhaps old oil. Service was decent, but there was await for food delivery. The place fills up fast and does get loud. A bit tight in seating.
google avatar

Yelp
The restaurant was packed for lunch! We waited about 25 minutes to be seated as a table of three, but the wait time continued to grow up to 45-60 minutes. The bar seating is first come, first serve but it is rather small. Maybe ten seats or less? The service- our server was clueless but he tried his best. I just don't think he's cut out for food service industry. But he was very sweet! Also, when you order hot wings, you need to let them know that you'd like Buffalo wings or the wings will come out as BBQ flavored hot wings. The kitchen has a microwave and they use it frequently, we had a chef with us who found that disappointing. Not sure what they were microwaving though. The Buffalo dip is full of cheese, and slim on the chicken chunks, but still yummy. The chili was AMAZING. It's probably the best chili I've ever had. I would ask next time though if they could add sour cream and cheese on top next time. I would gladly eat here everyday just for the chili. Take my word, get the chili!!!!

Yelp
This was our favorite dining spot on the mountain for sure. The portions were huge and everything was flavorful and delicious. I got the pork shank with mashed potatoes instead of the corn pudding. The shank was massive and fall off the bone tender, seasoned very well. The cornbread muffin was moist and delicious, and the mashed potatoes were soft and creamy. I also got a B52 but subbed hot chocolate for the coffee and loved it, they put a lot of liquor in it. Will be back next time I'm at Snowshoe!

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Saturday around 7 pm in early December after skiing. Really nice atmosphere with festive decorations. It was in the little village so we were able to park across in the village parking lot. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table for a group of 8, which was a lot shorter than we thought. Waiter was nice and attentive. They didn't have the first thing that I tried to order which was sad so I got the pulled pork sandwich instead. I ordered a warm drink that I thought was pretty good. They had lots of different barbecue sauces to choose from. The sandwich came with a lot of meat which was good but a little watery. I upgraded by side to mac and cheese which was really cheesy and delicious. I thought the meal was reasonably priced for ~$16 for the sandwich. It was filling and a nice experience.

Yelp
The food is terrible I mean you have a chicken entree that's deep fried I high recommend avoiding this place at all cost literally everything is deepfreid avoid

Yelp
We always enjoy the food here. My favorite is the lamb shank! Love the wings and the cornbread muffins. The service has always been good for us, very professional staff. The view is beautiful, and the ambiance is like being in a cozy log cabin. Good for families, and large gatherings. This is one of the best spots on the mountain.

Cort L.

Yelp
We were hesitant to eat here based off reviews but had an incredible experience! We were a group of 8 and everyone loved it! Our waitress was one of the best servers I've ever had. The food was delicious and we had a gorgeous Mountain View. Prices were very reasonable for the location and quality!

Samantha S.

Yelp
Every meal we had was delicious and the staff that served us was unmatched. The gyro was a late night snack and excellent, we had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and everyone had nothing but good things to say about their meal. The drinks were scrumptious and they had a fun variety of specialty drinks. The windows looking out over the south mountain made for a great view, even if it was freezing out. Even when busy, staff was never rude and was apologetic, but what can you do. Oh and their hot chocolate was out of this world! So sweet and not too hot that you could drink it right away. If ever back on the mountain we'll be certain to say hello to our friends at Fire and enjoy a meal.

Yelp
There are not many places to eat/drink in snowshoe, so if you want to go out for food/drinks, there are only a handful of options. My husband and I came here on NYE during a 4 football game to have drinks and a snack and to watch the game. The place was PACKED, not sure whether because it was NYE or it's just always packed..? We were super lucky and got a high top table in the bar area. We had some sort of dip for a snack which was delicious. I had to go up to the bar and wait forever to order it and also has to wait forever to order drinks-but no complaints because well, it was crowded. What does one expect? Speedy service? Not when it was that crowded. But we got our drinks and we got our snack in reasonable times once ordered so that's all that matters. We had a great atmosphere to watch the game. What else could you want?

Nancy F.

Yelp
Hostess last Monday night was rude and oddly controlling. She would not seat our party and even refused to let us look at the menu while we waited. We were in total a party of 8 and were all there, but we had the dog with us. The plan was to take turns walking him while we had drinks and appetizers. I tried to explain that six would be sitting at all times, but that I could order right away for all 8. She was quite rude and said that only the 6 who were there could sit and that when the others joined us they wouldn't be allowed near our table! While I could understand this if the place was crowded, the restaurant was at best 1/4 full. We were way too thirsty and tired from a day of outdoor adventure to deal with her so we went across the street to Cheat Street Pizza. They were happy to take our money even though we would be taking turns walking the dog! My suggestion is to avoid this place.

Stacey M.

Yelp
Our favorite go to place while at Snowshoe! We love the sliders and bbq. Winter time gets busy so go early.
google avatar

Rick Q.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times while visiting Snowshoe, once in the winter and once in the summer. The food has been good both times. As a family, we've tried a number of items. And most have been good, not great, but good. Service is hit or miss; very friendly at the host stand, but not so much at the table. Our summer waitress was not happy to be working that day I guess. Food = 4 stars Ambiance = 4 stars Service = 3 stars Value = 3 stars
google avatar

Yelp
I came here twice during our recent trip to snowshoe and both times had a pretty nice experience! The location is convenient, right in the center of the village. The atmosphere is very cozy and mountain like. I loved it! The views are also outstanding. I dined here the first night of our trip with my boyfriend while we were waiting for our friends to arrive. Our waiter was great, attentive, and friendly. I started with a glass of Pinot Noir that was not bad. For our entrees, I opted for the Prime Rib Sandwich with mashed potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the Turkey Sandwich with Mac & Cheese. Both of these entrees were pretty good! The Mac & Cheese was similar to a cafeteria Mac & Cheese, yet still good if that makes sense. I personally enjoyed it and would eat it again! Another day, I dined here with my girlfriend for a quick appetizer a few hours prior to dinner. I ordered the Bar-B-Quesadilla. She got a salad and side of once again, the Mac & Cheese. Of course I had a bite of the Mac & Cheese! My quesadilla was amazing! This was a pulled pork quesadilla and inside was pork, cheese, roasted corn salsa, fire roasted pepper, and onion. The tortilla was jalapeno and delicious. I highly recommend this appetizer! If you are looking for a cozy spot for appetizers/sandwiches, I do recommend this place. It's nothing glamorous but it hit the spot for a tasty sandwich, glass of wine, and great service! I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Meal with a view if you luck into a western window seat. We had excellent service and an equally excellent dinner on the mountain. Pork shank is juicy, fall off the bone tender pice of pig. No need for sauce, bathed in amazing fatty juices, with a side of cornbread style corn pudding and a switch up to a giant sided baked potato with crunchy salty skin perfection. Plenty to eat, reasonably priced and got enough left for a small lunch tomorrow. No room for dessert this time, this is definitely the the best spot to eat in Snoeshoe. Call to check days open, currently closed Tues and Wednesday for summer. So delicious! Such a perfect spot in the village.

Yelp
Great service, friendly and attentive...and the food was delicious also. The Snowshoe Resort is fabulous. We came here and the 4848 Festivalbwas happening so we had to stop and see what it wa all about. Foxfire Grill was recommended and it did not disappoint

Yelp
Horrible service. No reservation. No take out. Mediocre food at best. It was one of the only restaurants open so not much of a choice. Very expensive for what they offer.

Yelp
What a lovely place in Snowshoe! The line was a little long. Seems to be a very in demand restaurant..and for good reason! There was a bar area to sit and wait for your table. I made sure to order a cocktail while waiting and I really enjoyed my poinsettia martini cocktail . They had a variety of beers and wines to choose from too. The restaurant is located right in the middle of the village and all the action of Snowshoe. The steak entree was cooked perfectly with great sides (loaded baked potato and option of veggie). Of course we opted out of the veggie and got the sweet potato fries. They were very savory and not too salty. My boyfriend enjoyed his cornbread muffin (although I noticed those came prepackaged). I got the half rack of ribs with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes as sides. I mostly enjoyed the sides. I didn't find the ribs meaty, and instead they were dry. A little bit of a let down considering price ranges. I noticed the menu had a lot of options for all cravings from bar snacks to more elaborate entrees. They also had plenty of vegetarian options. The restaurant is very cute and family-friendly. They have stringed lights by the windows that provide a cozy feel. The service was nice and our waitress was attentive and polite. I would eat here again!

Monica T.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the food was amazing! The Hawg Wing appetizer is unique and the meat is falling off the bone. Love the slaw too, unique & great flavor. Great location and potential spot for a mountain sunset view if you can snag a table by the picturesque windows. I'm sad to give this a 3, but it's really a reflection of the customer service as a whole at the restaurant. Service from host seating to getting the check was inattentive, forgetful, and just took a really long time without communication. So 5/5 for food & atmosphere, but this place needs work overall with customer service.
google avatar

Cindy K.

Yelp
I was a bit nervous after reading the most recent reviews, however, nothing could be further from our experience. The food was very good, our table had the southwest grilled chicken salad, Hot roast beef along with surf and turf. We finished the evening with a caramel lava cake with ice cream. My only complaint was the tea had an odd taste. Overall very good evening.
google avatar

Felix S.

Yelp
The chicken in the sandwich was dry. The fried steak sandwich was poorly done. The egg was over cooked. The buttered rum is not a buttered rum. The fries were undercooked. Then they brought properly fried fries. My wife returned the fried steak sandwich and we still had to pay for 70% of plus the replacement sandwich! The waitress was as nice. She didn't always wear a mask when talking at our table. The manager came over and she based the 30 percent discount on how much sandwich meat was left over. We made the mistake of letting our adult children try it.
google avatar

Deanna P.

Yelp
We have become regulars, and enjoy dinner here at least once/week. I'm surprised by the "meh" and poor reviews because we have never had a bad meal from FoxFire. The menu has a great variety of items, including vegetarian. (The Squash Toast is delicious!) But the real shining stars on the menu are the smoked meats and bbq. And the coleslaw is unique and delicious. There are several bbq sauce options on the table, ranging from mild to hot to mustard. The drink menu isn't huge, but the drinks are top shelf and very tasty. The prices are what you would expect on the mountain, or maybe a bit less. A bbq sandwich, slaw, and fries is $10 - pretty reasonable. I will say - do NOT come here if you're in a hurry or have kids who are "starving"! Have you SEEN the size of the kitchen in this place? It's a miracle that the wait for food isn't twice as long as the normal 30-40 minutes. The kid menu has some great options (try the pulled bbq quesadilla), and they carry the BEST root beer in a bottle. Great food, amazing views, better than adequate service, and nice atmosphere! Two thumbs up for this place!
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
A great spot on top of the mountain. We only sat at the bar and had a few beers; but the bartender was attentive and personable. The view of the fireplace was comforting! And the beer was delicious!
google avatar

Roman W.

Yelp
It is probably number one restaurant in Snowshoe resort. It has very nice interior, wood menu and real old 1971 ski on the wall. In end November it decorated for Christmas. Pork on the bone was awesome. Steak on top of salad 4 of 5 , don't like sauce. Don't skip desert.
google avatar

Harry B.

Yelp
I wouldn't mind paying expensive prices considering we're in a ski resort, but the food was way below average. I had chicken wings and my girlfriend ate their chicken fried steak sandwich - we both agreed that the food was gross. They do have cocktails, though, and they were OK. The tavern place next door is better. *I had my girlfriend read this review and she said I was being too nice - according to her, this place is pool food
google avatar

Martin V.

Yelp
The fact this place isn't part of snowshoe makes sense. If you like tortillas covered in olives and cheese this is your spot! Somehow that's called pizza... anyways just expect when you show up to get a 1 hr wait and when you show up again have to get "manager approval" to get seated. Messing up checks is the norm. The fact that this place was our 4th choice should say something. The capitol in DC sounds more appealing. The beer was good though Also, if you order any sandwich, expect to be charged 25 cents per standard items (I.e. pickles, tomato, onion, lettuce, etc.) without being told. Leaving hungry.

Cody W.

Yelp
Food was phenomenal and service was friendly. The prices were a bit high for the serving sizes but for the location, it's hard to beat.
google avatar

Cris C.

Yelp
We come here every year for the Hunka Hunka BBQ Burger which is a burger topped with cheese, pulled pork and an onion ring. It isn't on the menu anymore thanks to COVID and reducing the menu size but they can still make it so ask for it. You won't regret it. Well, right after you eat it you might because it's so filling but you will be back for more. Megan is an awesome server if you are lucky enough to get her.
google avatar

Joshua D.

Yelp
Expect a long wait time, so put your name in early. The staff was very friendly and I don't want to take anything away from them. The food was atrocious. I had the ribs, and they were dry, tough, and crunchy. Yes, literally crunchy. I know that not all ribs can be perfect fall off the bone, but these were actually difficult to pull apart; there was so much burnt carbon on these that when I used a knife to cut them I couldn't tell at times if I was hitting bone or not. One of my group also got ribs and his were the same, so it wasn't just me getting bad luck. The wings were okay, thankfully. I know in that area there are only a few options, but I'd genuinely recommend cooking in your room or driving down the mountain if your only alternative is eating here. At the very least, don't order the ribs.
google avatar

Kathy C.

Yelp
We went for drinks and dinner. The hostess was on the snippy side but sat us right away. Hubby and I ordered drinks kinda expensive ($10+) but they sounded good. They came with old spoiled lime garnish. Ewww. They smelled bad too. I ordered the pulled pork with sweet potato fries and hubby ordered chicken fried steak which came with mashed potatoes. My entree was good, but I disliked all their barbecue sauces. They didn't complement the pork at all. Personal preference. My husbands entree was not good and he ate very little of it. He said it was super salty and he is NOT a picky eater. The next day we sat outside and had a couple of beers from the bar. That was heaven. I'd go back and do that again.
google avatar

Ada T.

Yelp
There always seems to be a wait at this place making one think the food is excellent! We waited about 20-30 minutes before getting seated. Service was pretty good. My group got a round of burgers while I had the gyro. My gyro was okay, nothing to write home about. The clear winner was the Hunk o Hunk of BBQ burger. You can't go wrong with more meat piled on top of a burger with an onion ring! They have an array of BBQ sauces to try. Also a good beer selection. Will visit again.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Not sure why the rating is low for this place. We enjoyed it so much that we ate here THREE times during our stay at Snowshoe. It was the delicious food that brought us back and each time our service was attentive and friendly.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
The atmosphere was really nice but the food did not hit the mark for us. Went with a group of four on a Sunday night during early ski season. It was pretty full but we got seated right away. They had fun icicle lights throughout all the windows. There was a bar with a few TVs and some high top tables. Our waiter was fine but the service was not exceptional. The uptown Mac n cheese with crab was a major let down for me, especially considering the price. I did not taste the crab and the Mac n cheese was very sub par. The wings were heavily breaded and the chicken fried steak was ok, again not great. The oatmeal porter was not my favorite. The dinner menu is a little pricey and we definitely expected better. The other couple with us came here another time during lunch and said the burger was really good though.
google avatar

Mel C.

Yelp
Service was great food was awesome! ....It was a great restaurant but they need to knock off the Covid-19's crap!.
google avatar

Jody S.

Yelp
I'd pass on this spot if you're looking for a drink while at the mountain. The bartender we had was terrible and cared more about talking about his car than making money. The food is alright, though...and the servers are fun.
google avatar

Abi G.

Yelp
Doing their best during Covid! Take that into consideration. Meanwhile this mountain is PACKED with peops! Then they finally open the restaurants thank God. End up sitting at the bar. No one is friendly including the bar tender. Menu is all meat and 1 or 2 vegetarian entrees. Drinks are good! People come up to bar treated like they have the lurgy! Just redic! Not my fav! Not bad, but not good either!
google avatar

Naomi V.

Yelp
I do not appreciate the grill cook wearing his mask improperly. Also one of the other employees speaking with him. If it's not covering the nose there really is no point. ‍ I did like that they were taking temperatures of arriving employees. Still, the person preparing food should 100% be compliant.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Great place to grab a drink or food after a hard day of skiing or mountain biking at Snowshoe. Always a nice bartender to help you with drinks and the wait staff for table services is super cool. so many good thing son the menu, its hard to decided sometimes, from the buffalo chicken dip to the hog legs, or the chili, all good selections and you cant go wrong.

Randall C.

Yelp
I get the pork shank every time. Great meal and good value. My kids like the tackle box appetizer. The bartender here is very good and has been here a while. Top 2 dining places on the mountain.
google avatar

KrisTina B.

Yelp
First off you can't be seated until your entire party is there, even if you're waiting on 1 person. Secondly the hostess was rude and wouldn't you finish your water bottle we bought in. Every extreme. We only came here for dessert, and they took 20 mins to warm up a cake in the microwave and add ice cream. The dessert wasn't even warm enough. Feel sorry for the waiter but they weren't very good either.
