Instead of staying at chain hotels, I've started finding B&Bs & guest houses. The price is comparable and you find some great places. This is one of those places; the rooms are beautiful, parking is great. Instead of a generic hotel bar, they have a tavern type bar under the building. Excellent selection of craft beers and liquor. They do music most nights; the music the night I was there was fantastic. The owner, Melinda, and her bartender Candace are the only two employees. They make a great duo and are super friendly to chat with. Now I have to find an excuse to visit Augusta more often so I can stay here again and again!

First the good, the room itself was lovely very well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. I liked the fact that there was a refrigerator in the microwave in the room. The lady bartender was very sweet and friendly. Now .the not so good; when we first arrived, I thought we had done something wrong. We arrived at the time we said we were going to arrive and we went in the back where the signs were pointing but the owner seemed annoyed, her greeting was not welcoming. Although she did warm up a bit but after travelling four hours a smile and a welcome would have been nice. Also as others have said it’s a B&B but not a bed and breakfast, it’s a bed and bar. There were only two packaged snacks, no free drinks, no breakfast, for $169 this doesn’t seem to be a deal. And if you don’t like noise this is not the place for you, between the trains, the traffic, the barking dogs and the music downstairs it’s almost impossible to sleep without some white noise.

This place was absolutely fabulous. Check in. It was easy. The rooms were wonderful. The atmosphere of the inn was fabulous. The Fox's Lair was awesome! Live music. Great drinks. We had a blast. Excellent prices. Stayed here for a concert at the Bell auditorium and it was perfect. We walked to the auditorium, had great concert and walked back to the layer for more live music and then just walked right upstairs to go to bed. It could not have been more perfect.

Didn't happen to stay there but went and checked out their lounge. Live music in a very cozy setting, full of friendly people and the bartender mixes some great drinks. Definitely worth checking out and it's a great little find.

We stayed at the Olde Town Inn the last weekend of March 2025, and it was horrible. The Inn is in a bit of a sketchy neighborhood, and with current constructions obscuring many of the sidewalks, crosswalks, etc...It was very far from being walkable. But the most concerning things of note were: the owners hair studio (open to the public) on the first floor and the bar in the basement (also, open to the public) our room did not feel secure. Our Room: The furnishing were outdated, and the bed was quite uncomfortable/ hard. We did not notice until later Friday evening, after dinner that the lock on our door was malfunctioning, and would only secure part of the time. We thought we could live with all of this until...the Friday night/ Saturday morning party was still raging in the rooms next door to us at 4:30 AM. At this point we decided we were done trying to make this work, messaged the owner about the untenable situation and left/ checked out. We received a message from the owner later Saturday morning stating she had watched the video cameras and had watched us leave, had seen the party, and that the party goers had checked out not too long after us. We did not receive a refund for the horrible night we spent in this establishment, nor for the second night that we paid for but were not able, nor willing to stay...although, both were requested AND the owner had confirmed the problems. I say to you, fellow consumer...stay here at your own risk. We learned the hard way.

We arrived in the midst of a St.Patrick’s Day party in full swing in the subterranean Fox’s Lair bar and were warmly welcomed in like regulars. Our room on the second floor was comfortable, clean and beautifully appointed to complement the house’s historic charm. Music and drinks and party food in the bar were all great. Note that if you don’t close the bar down you will hear music in your room. We didn’t find this overly intrusive and the experience and overall stay were very enjoyable. We would gladly return.

This place is the best kept secret. I always feel welcomed and appreciated here. The Bartender and the Owner are so amazing and hospitable. Please take the time to check this hidden Gem out. Amateur comedy on Mondays with Happy Bones is something you must see.
