The Best New Cocktail Bars in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"Foxtrot features one of the more unusual layouts in the Portland drinking scene: patrons order from an airstream trailer in the side yard and then have the option of sipping their concoction of choice from either the comfort of a Bictorian parlor or several carpeted outdoor pergolas. Much like the beloved Pied Cow it replaces, the food menu is loaded with snacky conversation food like tinned fish and escargot, perfect for late-night hangouts or whimsical first dates. The European touches extend to the drink offerings, which are split between traditional cocktails and “marianitos,” clever variations of the vermouth-forward pre-dinner pick-me-up popular in Northern Spain." - Ben Coleman

A cute and detailed restaurant out of a house with cozy Gothic vibes and great outdoor seating. The Pork Sandwich is so good, but the Cheese Plate was phenomenal. Delightfully refreshing tea, and my partner says the cocktails are great as well. The staff were friendly and answered any questions I had. A great spot for a date night. Went on a Wednesday night and it was easy to find a spot quickly. Self seating, You order at the food truck, and they bring your order to your table.

Love it. Friendly staff. Great food, cocktails. Beer, wine coffee, wow. Lots of good choices. Cozy eclectic victorian like house inside. Airstream bar outdoor with big covered spaces with multiple seating areas. Good vibe inside and out.

This is such a great place! The desserts were fantastic! Good selection of beer, wine, cocktails, and coffee drinks. Very cool indoor space in an old Queen Anne house. The outdoor space is a great setup too. Looking forward to spring there!

The Foxtrot in Portland is such a vibe! The moment you walk in, the decor just grabs you—and the patio space has lots of little nooks to tuck away in. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The staff is amazing. And the food? Incredible. Everything we tried was packed with flavor. My last meal there was a tomato soup that was next level - my friends and I were joking that we wished we could order it by the gallon. It’s one of those places that feels special but still totally welcoming. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!

A wonderful spot. Delicious cocktails and snacks. The patio is mostly shaded by some big trees which was very nice on this hot summer afternoon. There was also a jazz band playing on the patio that only added to the ambiance. I was even more impressed when I went inside and saw the amazing decor. Will definitely be back.

Walked up here for a drink. Had not been even though I used to drive by every day in it's previous incarnation. Enjoyed the outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Rainier was as delicious as I remember from my time living in Portland back in the day.

Google
loved this place. the pork sandwich with side salad is amazing . the outdoor seating has heaters and this would be a great place to hang out for drinks on a summer evening. The old Victorian is quirky and definite in keeping with Portlands theme of keeping it weird and I enjoyed every minute of my time here. capped it off with an affogato .

Came here on a whim, and was absolutely blown away by the decor and atmosphere. Really enjoyed the appetizers, cocktails, and pie. Eva was an awesome bartender holding down the fort and making sure everyone was having a good time. I look forward to coming back!

Yelp
I adore Foxtrot so much. I live in the area and it's such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. My partner and I discovered it back in February and have since come back again and again for the artful atmosphere, the yummy drinks and cuisine, but really it's because the staff and owner are just wonderful welcoming people. The patio is like being transported into a secret garden and the inside is like a Victorian design dream. They have fun events like the oh so cool Church of Film, DJ sets and music, and artist markets! Overall a wonderful spot if you like friendly people, great drinks & eats, and a beautiful setting.

Yelp
Very cute Victorian home turned cafe spot on the bustling street of Belmont. They also host some flea markets in their courtyard area which us very shady and cute. You order at the trailer and find seats wherever. It's a very nice oasis on the busy street. They have coffee, food, and drinks so something for everyone. We tried their espresso martini-esque drink with orange and it's nice and refreshing. Would come back for their other stuffs.

Yelp
Foxtrot is the new incarnation of an old Belmont house and connected lot many may know as Buttertoes and the Pied Cow. The house is mainly the kitchen. The open air lot is for you. On the lot is an Airstream trailer which mixes drinks, dispenses beer and wine, and takes food orders for the kitchen. They have food brought to the table counter-service style. On the lot are rain-shaded structures and open air tables. Very Oregon Country Fair City Repair Project-style. Maybe they will have more rain shelter in our rain months for the open air tables. They do have cigarette smoking and ash trays at the tables, I find distasteful. That said, it is outdoors. -1 for that, unpleasantly retro. Previous businesses here have catered to underage. Now it is underage until 3PM. They do host events, maybe yours. They have an outdoor projection screen. They host the Church of Film which is an obscure tiny, under 30 person, event. I would estimate their occupancy at 60. Maybe it would work for weddings. I think it would make a good date night for some, but I would scout it before deciding. I hope this small business gets its groove and finds a stable customer base but I do not know what that is. The neighborhood and you, seeking a destination, need to decide what small business survives in this spot, or if it is replaced by a quarter block 5 story condo.

Yelp
Love the decor. Love the staff. Love the drinks and gawd damn the food was great too. The basque cheesecake was so amazing. AND the escargot was so well done. Again, I love this place!

Yelp
If my dreams could create a bar, this would be it. The ambiance is incredible and the food/cocktails are just as good. The strawberry pie left us speechless.

Yelp
You may be tempted to walk up the lovely staircase to the house but hold off, you order at the shiny trailer just beside leading to the vast side yard filled to the brim with coves and caves. This large patio has a smattering of covered areas in different styles of cozy and creativity. The cocktails are lovely surprise (guided sweetly by the kind bartenders) and served in beautiful glassware. It's the perfect spot to take a date for the ultimate amount of artistic ambiance. I can't wait to experience this space in the spring and summertime. Kudos to the owners for making such a beautiful space.

Yelp
I love this place. New favorite for lunch with my bestie. Bartender is the best. He makes special coffee for me and treats us like we are special.

Yelp
10/10 for bringing the devil-may-care-authenticity we love about Portland. This unique and quirky joint is up there with the rest of the keeping-Portland-weird hall of fame. The decor is what stands out here. Every detail feels collected and curated over decades. Here are some rapid fire highlights with little to no explanation: half badass gothic styled Victorian house, half garden of curios with seating throughout, opium den vibes, cheap but tasty small plates, airstream camper converted into bar, order at the airstream, smoking allowed, tarot on site, huge backyard, teapots available, gothic paradise, top 10 places in Portland to drop acid.

Yelp
This is the most beautiful restaurant in pdx! The entire place has a brilliantly curated dark Victorian ambiance. The food was delicious too. For all this I'll return. However, just know you have to order outside at the airstream. Then wind your way back around & up the steps (drinks in hand) if you want to eat inside. If they had a waitstaff dining there would be perfection. But maybe this is their way of cutting costs. Regardless I'll be back! Plus the staff who took orders were very friendly.

Yelp
I have yet to visit a spot with such a cool entrance with an open historic house! The patio is so relaxed and fun. Love it!

Yelp
Service is really, really slow. All we ordered was a bowl of soup and a slice of cake and it took over 1/2 hour to get our order and then delivered by a very unfriendly server (or cook?) after we asked at the counter when we might get our order. And it was getting very chilly outside. Tipping happens at the ordering process, and I wish I hadn't been so generous. Food was good so that helped our experience.

Yelp
Super cool place! The vibes are immaculate, just looks awesome. Huge variety on the menu. Plus, it's an awesome place to find local culture like art markets and music!
