USA Road Trip: A Suggested Cross-Country Itinerary for 2025

"Franklin Court marks where Benjamin Franklin lived during the Continental Congress; although his original house is gone, I found the hollow structure and nearby museum informative and a neat way to learn about Franklin’s life." - Matthew Kepnes

This is a really cool area, free to visit, right outside of the Ben Franklin Museum. Franklin's original house sat on this site but was torn down, so they've erected beams outlining his former space. A visit to the museum is a great experience as well. It's only $5 dollars to enter.

Didn't go inside the museum, but you're able to see Benjamin Franklin's house frame work that lets you see its size. There's a lot of info in the quad area about him and the house, and you’re able to use the museums bathroom and go into the shop without a museum ticket. It's worth the visit and close to other sites to visit.

The Fragments of Franklin Court is a wonderful historic site of one of the most important people in United States history. There is a white frame built where the structure of the house used to lie along with windows into the ground showing the original foundations and underneath of Benjamin Franklin’s house. Entry is free and worth a visit if you are in the area.

This is a fun free activity for tourists staffed by the National Parks Service. The staff puts on a great demonstration, in fun costumes, with an old-fashioned printing press. Overall, I highly recommend it for any tourists in Philadelphia.

The post office that Franklin is here and you can send a postcard from here, and they have this cool stamp that cancels the stamp for you. There is so much going on here and it's a lot of history in one place.
