Worth the stop, regardless of season. You might think that a lavender farm isn’t terribly interesting if the flowers aren’t in peak bloom, but our experience this week proves quite otherwise. For the low price of only $5 per person, you can walk amid their peaceful field full of 20,000 lavender plants. But before we even got out into the lavender, we had the most special, genuine, and informative conversation with the sweet lady at the ticket booth. It was immediately clear that she had a great love not only of the lavender farm but Washington Island as a whole. She gave us detailed information about the farm’s history and made many other recommendations of places to stop and experience while on the island. She even wore purple glasses and a purple floral blouse - her pride was evident in every aspect! We walked amidst the lavender and also tried one of the lavender lemonade slushies, which was delicious! And despite the lavender not being at peak bloom, it was still a relaxing and informative stop on the island. Highly recommended!

Fragrant Isle on Washington Island is a lavender lover’s dream! The air smells amazing, the staff is warm and helpful, and the shop offers a huge variety of quality lavender products. Peaceful and picturesque!

Extremely Disappointing Experience — Poor Customer Service We’ve visited countless lavender fields across the U.S. that happily welcome dogs as long as they’re in carriers — so we were shocked at how poorly we were treated here. After standing in a long line under the sun with our small dog safely tucked in a carrier bag, we were only informed at the very front of the line that dogs weren’t allowed at all — not even in bags. What’s worse is that the staff member managing the line clearly saw we had a dog from the start. Why let us wait all that time just to turn us away? That’s not just poor planning — it’s disrespectful of people’s time and completely avoidable. The entire experience was frustrating, and the staff’s attitude came off as unwelcoming and inconsiderate. If you’re traveling with a dog — even a well-behaved one in a carrier — do not waste your time here. Support businesses that treat customers with basic courtesy and kindness. This place failed on both counts. It’s $5 per person for the lavender field. Waste of money. Just skip this.

I had fun just waking around and taking pictures! It didn’t really smell like lavender but the flowers also hadn’t bloomed yet so keep that in mind when you go! Just 5 dollars a person so if your around stop by!! The gift shop is full of lavender themed everything! And very nice smelling lotions, soaps fragrances and more! I’d recommend walking all the way to the back left where you’ll find the Virgin Mary statue! Kinda cute leave a nickel or something for fun!

I was very excited to come to this particular Lavender Farm, as I had read about it online and I happen to love lavender-flavored foods! However, I was very let down by the lack of lavender flavor in all of the products that I tried. I had the lavender vanilla ice cream, and I could not taste the lavender in it. The worker at the counter (she was awesome!) let my wife and I try their lavender white balsamic and lavender olive oil, which both flavors were appealing to me, that is until I tried them and discovered that they also had no lavender flavoring to them at all. It was a big disappointment. The only product I liked was their lavender scented hand sanitizer, it actually did smell like lavender, but I did not buy any due to the high cost.

Both inside their shop and outside at the farm, Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm & Shop hypnotizes all with the wonderful aroma of, you guessed it, lavender. Free smells to go around. There are plenty of lavender-themed sundries and trinkets for sale in their shop from soap to books to popcorn. Great place to visit if you are a lavender enthusiast because, as sure as God's got sandals, this place has plenty of it. So come on over and check them out. Cheers!

I recently visited the Fragrance Isle Lavender Farm and Sho at 1350 Airport Rd, in Washington, WI. Although the lavender ants were out of season its easy to see how beautiful it must be when they are in bloom. The counter person was very helpful in discussing all the choices of products they had for sale there. I bought several lavender based items, which includes scones and chocolates, Try a Lions Bar!

A place like this should be an experience or destination. Second time there but will be my last. It was $5 for hot water, paper cup and tea bag. With a constant rain, we asked to sit on the porch and they said it was a private party, in the middle of the day. The staff was nice, but there are rules posted everywhere and you just don't feel welcome. If I was welcomed to come in and sit down out of the rain, try samples, have someone talk about their process, I might support their business. Keep in mind that tourists pay extra to come to the island, be open, have private things off hours, that's why we come. It was really great when a staff member put a porch closed sign right in front of our face and said "You are welcome to have your beverage outside, you just go around the side to the gate and eat outside", I said, no thanks, we're,not eating in the rain and we're leaving.

Yelp
A must see on Washington Island! I'm biased, because I LOVE the color purple. But come on....neatly arranged, shapely clumps of flowers laid out in a giant field? It's a beautiful (and fragrant) sight! There were so many butterflies and bees visiting all the flowers at our visit, that I took probably too much time trying to take the perfect photograph. There is a gazebo and benches amongst the lavender plants if you choose to relax out there, otherwise, there is a patio just outside the shop to relax on and enjoy your purchases. The shop is a cozy place with lavender EVERYTHING! Books, oils, sachets, perfume, soap, dried flower bunches, small dishes, pressed flowers, candles, jewelry..... There is a small counter area where you can purchase food and beverages, most of it lavender infused. I picked up a few caramels, and my husband bought me a lavender wine slushie. I am by no means a wine drinker, but this thing was delicious! The ladies inside the shop are very friendly and knowledgeable, and can give you recommendations on which kind of lavender plants to purchase when you get home (I don't think they sell plants there). Be sure to put this place on your list! 7/2025

Yelp
My husband and I absolutely love this place! They have a slew of Lavender food and items to sell. My favorite was the Almond Lavender lotion. It is a great price as well as so soft. I was not able to buy more, at the time, but everything from this farm is wonderful. One of the my favorite items was the Lavender slushie. So delicious and refreshing. You can walk around the grounds, sit in their Adirondack chairs and enjoy the view. Great place to stop and hang out when you are in the area!

Yelp
I have been to Washington Island a few time, but never the right time of year to see the Lavender. Needless to say I was excited to get there! The Lavender fields are stunning and smell so, so good! We did not partake in any treats while we were there but did browse the gift shop. The gift shop has a nice variety of lavender themed gifts and the kids got a little bakery to snack on (not lavender related). Activity wise there is not much for little ones to do. This is a go in and enjoy some relaxing, peaceful time amongst the lavender plants type place.

Lisa R.

Yelp
I was really excited to go here and was really disappointed. The lavender farm is gorgeous and even though the lavender wasn't blooming yet, still very fragrant. I loved walking around and seeing that part of it and can just imagine how beautiful it is in bloom. We went inside the shop and that's where the beauty stopped. The shop is small and crowded and while there seem to be plant of registers and people working, be careful which register you go to or you while get told (like a small child) "you need to take that purchase to retail". Now. Keep in mind the registers aren't marked "retail" or otherwise. I was trying to purchase overpriced products from the shop, not food from the little deli. When I asked the price of something, I was told (again like I was a little kid that was ruining their day), "it's marked", um no, it wasn't, or was the shelf, that's why I asked. This is a very niche shop, on an island, in a tourist spot so I do t mind paying a little more, but not when the people that work there are just pretentious jerks. If the lavender is blooming, walk through the field and enjoy nature, but do yourself a favor and skip the gift shop.

Gregory S.

Yelp
I love lavender! We visited this place on both of our Washington Island visits, the first time was just random as we were riding mopeds around and came upon it by accident. The second time we made a point to visit. There's a pretty good sized gift shop where you can buy any number of lavender-based products. We usually pick up hand lotion and stuff like that. Get some of the lavender ice cream, you'll thank me.

Linda V.

Yelp
Nice lavender farm and gift shop; only lavender farm on island (other one closed). Has fields out back and a barn to the side. The gift shop has lots of items as well as food. Ourside also has a bar with food if you want to sit and eat. We enjoyed the talk on growing lavender. The most interesting thing I learned after steaming the lavender to get very little oil they put the plants in a community garden and people can take plants home because I'd a deer deterrent.

Jade W.

Yelp
I made a special trip to Washington Isle to visit Fragrant Isle. The idea of a lavender farm sounded so cool! I was excited to be able to pick/trim my own lavender, like I had seen in a Door County promotion video. I think my expectations were a little high. I did enjoy the garden (there's an access fee), and it made for a great photo op! As the garden isn't too big, that's all it is really. Walk a little bit, enjoy the scent, and take pictures. The gift shop was the main attraction. If you're looking for a gift for someone, this a great one-stop shop. I will note that everything was more expensive than I had expected (& I did expect higher prices since it's a touristy spot).

Yelp
After 30 years of annual DC visits, I finally made my way to Washington Island. I am so glad we visited Fragrant Isle. This farm is beautiful; it is the perfect place to sit and relax, take photos, or cut fresh lavender. I felt like the prices to get in to the field and to cut our own lavender were fair. They allow for a sizable amount to be cut for $15, which my friend and I split and each took home a nicely sized bouquet. And don't even get me started on how incredible it smells! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of beautiful items in the gift shop and tasty looking snacks. I'm looking forward to coming back next time I make it out to the island!

Sophia M.

Yelp
This is a beautiful place to visit, they have a variety of lavender fields and the aroma while walking these grounds is intoxicating. It's a great place to come for pictures of any kind, there is an admission fee of $5 which is fine because it goes towards keeping up the farm. If you want to pick your own lavender it is $15 but you get a big metal ring that you can stuff a big bundle in to. They also have a small cafe that overlooks the lavender farm and they sell an assortment of lavender infused food and beverages, alcoholic and nonalcoholic. There is also a cute retail shop where you can buy lavender products and small gifts(it's a little more pricey).

Yelp
I read a story about Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm back in 2019 and Bookmarked it for a trip in late June 2020, and we loved it. It proved to be pretty as a picture, and smelled great! Not all the lavender in the fields was flowering yet in late June, but we loved walking the fields, sitting down at the tables occasionally spaced out, smelling the lavender and taking it all in. Entrance to the lavender fields is just $5-$6 and well worth it. We shopped the shop, and I enjoyed getting a few gifts for family, some lavender chocolate for myself, and a lavender mint tea that is great pre-sleep! Help was actually helpful and not too hovery. Some items were expensive, but prices are completely in line with other unique boutiques in Door County. I mean, DC is nothing if not touristy! There's lavender room sprays, oils, a CBD section, candles, soaps, fresh bundles, and a separate confection section. We did not dine at the restaurant. Fragrant Isle is a truly unique Door County experience.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Such a beautiful place - this was one of my main reasons for coming to Washington Island! The gift shop is so cute and has so many lavender things! I got some yummy smelling pomegranate lavender soap, lavender sachets & linen spray for my bed. PRO TIP! Visit the gift shop first! Spend $20 and you get 2 free adult admissions. Kids 12 and under are free! So fun to take pictures in the field. Such a beautiful place to visit. Something my family will always remember.

Thomas B.

Yelp
This place is sooo cool! When we went all the lavender in the field was not blossomed but I can imagine what it looks like when it is, and we will be back to see that. It was quiet, peaceful, and clean. We went into the shop and who knew how much you could do with lavender haha. The staff was very nice and pleasant and it was just a really cool place. This is a place you have to visit if on the island.

Nektaria R.

Yelp
Wow is this touristy and expensive. I did get some lavender caramels. Too fragrant for me but still tasty. The staff is very helpful and kind. It's high end boutique so be prepared to pay. I do prefer the store on Washington Island.

Brian M.

Yelp
We heard Washington Island is home to a significant number of Lavender farms with Fragrant Isle being one of the largest. There's a small gift shop located in a nicely refurbished red barn building. I was somewhat disappointed to find you had to pay $5.00 per person to get into the well manicured field. It just didn't seem worth the expense just to capture a few close up photos. You can see all of the field from the parking lot.. If you spend $20 in the gift shop you do get your field admission for free. We spent the cash in the gift shop. My wife & daughter enjoyed taking pictures. As for myself, I find I'm not much of a lavender aficionado.

Emily H.

Yelp
Highly Recommend this place! Today we visited Fragrant Isle during our trip to Washington Island. What a neat experience! As soon as you walk in the door, the smell welcomed you in with OPEN arms! Smelled amazing! Relaxing & Peaceful too. There was anything and everything you could imagine here made with lavender. I picked up some relaxing sleep pillow lavender spray! Score! My husband and I tried the cafe inside and got 2 beverages. I got a door county Cherry and Lavender mimosa and he had a lavender latte! So good. We loved them. The service was great. The employees were so helpful with recommendations and friendly. If we ever are in the area again, I would for sure stop! I want to come back already.. in July when it warms up! They have outdoor seating and a decent sized parking lot. The garden had plenty of seating and tables as well. It was so beautiful and very very well maintained/kept.

Rhonda B.

Yelp
Beautiful field of lavender. Took a Door County Trip with my daughter in law. Decided to take ferry over and enjoy Washington Island...first time. Lavendar fields were beautiful....did not have a need to walk inside the fields so went into the store and spent over $100 and in addition bought drinks and sandwiches.....then asked the clerk where the restroom was and was told we did not pay the $5.00 PP so could not use the restroom??????? I was shocked after spending well over $100 and purcasing food we could not pee. After speaking to the manager today she said it is what it is. OK....just know you need to have bands to pee. We had to drive miles down the road to the park to use a restroom....next time I would say go to a restaurant to buy your food.

Ow M.

Yelp
This place should be avoided. They demand $8 per adult to walk near the moderately sized lavender field. $4 per child. The experience isn't remotely worth that. The store inside is cheesy, filled with lame undesirable products. Don't bother. Washington Island is wonderful places. This isn't one of them.

Brook S.

Yelp
I very much love this place and I have found beautiful products that I needed when shopping here. The products smell incredible and the people who work in the shop are so kind and helpful. I have very sensitive Swedish skin and the only lotions that work are the ones from Fragrant Isle- and I have tried everything from expensive department stores to everywhere else. I currently use the Lavender Chamomile Body Lotion with Aloe Vera and it immediately heals my dry skin- especially in the winter. I have many products from them, including Lavender essential oil, Lavender perfume, and Lavender sachets to keep in clothing drawers. I can't wait to return this summer and for our annual trip in October before it closes for winter. This is a Washington Island/Door County must see!

Michelle N.

Yelp
My family visited this farm today as it was the number 1 thing to do on our trip list to Washington island! I have a lot we loved and a few suggestions. The products all look and smell wonderful hence the very high prices! If they weren't as high priced we could have spent much more in the shop. We loved that we could pick fresh lavender bunches it was a fun experience and we have great memories now from doing that. We had lunch at the bistro - the chicken salad sandwich was wonderful . The quinoa salad had no flavor - would be awesome if it did. My parents said the lavender lemonade didn't taste at all like lavender- maybe just a hint more lavender? PLEASE OFFER A KID MENU or at least 2 items!!! Hotdogs weren't available today we were told and my son saw the hot dog cart outside. That was a bummer. We had to beg bistro girl to make my 5 year old a ham and mayo sandwich and still were charged almost $12 for it since there were no kid options! That makes me sad! Please consider offering something not so expensive for kids!!! One more suggestion. Your bistro staff was a little snippy. Nicer service would be awesome. A young lady working accused my mom of stealing ice cream. She was standing with my son while I used the rest room and the girl asked her if she paid for it. Really? She was the one dishing out the ice cream- don't you think she'd remember NOT handing it to her. Then she asked my mom if she was lying to her! Not joking! Yes it was paid for - by me! Please don't accuse my innocent mother of stealing your $5 a scoop ice cream that you didn't hand her. I would have rated higher if they had a kid option on menu, the girl at bistro was nicer in general and if we weren't accused of stealing!

Gretchen K.

Yelp
Rating the the lowest possible for several reasons: 1) Staff was rude and unhelpful. A. We arrived 10 minutes prior to the shop closing and were told immediately about this before even being greeted. B. You know when you get a vibe that store staff are following you around not to be helpful but they don't trust you? This was the vibe in this store. Makes me wonder if one has to dress or look a certain way to be trusted in this store. C. I asked about some essential oils, wondering what the difference between them were since the labels really didn't tell. The clerks response, "Just smell them." No willingness to inform/educate on their part. 2) Product Overpriced and repetitive product just packaged in different ways. Fragrant Isle is just one more gimicky business (with rude staff) to make Washington Island more touristy, drive up land values, and drive out locals who can no longer afford to live there.

Connie L.

Yelp
A beautiful place! Shop where cute lavender items. Wonderful gift options. Has a bakery with delicious looking stuff. Outside has the well-groomed lavender field where you can stroll around and sit on chairs to just enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds.

Suzan G.

Yelp
I would have given this attraction a four star review, but the porta potties were disgusting. I visited this establishment July 7th . The gardens were lovely in full bloom. Given the high volume of foot traffic perhaps a maintenance schedule should be instituted as their porta potties were very dirty and unkempt. This was more than just a little bit dirty. Only two of four potties were open. Because of the state of these potties I left the grounds without purchasing anything. I would encourage others to skip this greedy business. (I did purchase a lemonade which only has about half cup of actual lemonade).

Lisa W.

Yelp
The lavender field was very pretty and smelled great! The gift shop/store was bright and cheery and clean. We looked through the items in their store, but thought everything was high priced.

Brittany B.

Yelp
Such a cute little shop, and loved that you can walk through the lavender in the back. The items in the shop are a little pricey, but that's to be expected with the quality. My fiancé had the sea salt ice cream and I had a lavender macaron that I loved and he hated :) I also had a wine slushie while we walked around, which I thought was delicious and refreshing. Definitely a cute stop for some specialty lavender products and some pictures!

roxanne m.

Yelp
Didn't shop in Washington Island but instead their sister store in Fish Creek. Sharon was both knowledgeable and very friendly. Love this store!

Robby W.

Yelp
I come to Washington Island every year for vacation for at least a week, and I have driven past this place more times than I can count. I finally decided to stop in and check things out and I am very glad I did. I came well ahead of the crowds in late May this year, so the fields were not in their usual blooming splendor like they are later in the year (see my attached pic). However, I still got to check out the shop and farm and got to chat up several employees. I must say I came away knowing more practical applications for their signature substance than I even imagined possible. If the subject ever comes up in Trivial Pursuit I will surely ace it. The shop itself is quaint and elegantly decorated. If you are in the company of a female, she will likely think it is the cutest thing in the world and award you brownie points for taking her there (hint hint). It also smells intoxicatingly awesome walking through the front door. The range of products they have here which incorporate Lavender simply boggles the mind. While fragrance and skin care I was sort of expecting, pretty much everything short of using it as a substitute for diesel fuel is incorporated. I am not really a "foo- foo" kind of dude, but I must admit that I ended up purchasing both a bar of the wonderfully smelling soap, as well as a bottle of the Cologne. The Cologne is actually pretty friggin rockstar. Sort of like old school CK one with a lavender twist. The staff here was also extremely friendly to converse with, and as you might expect, very passionate about their products. Also contained within the shop is a Cafe that serves bistro style food and wine, and also incorporates (you guessed it) a culinary version of Lavender. I did not partake as I had literally just left The Danish Mill right before stopping by, but I wish I had not of as I have been there a million times and everything certainly looked delicious. I will have to make a point to come back by the next time I am in town. Consequentially, this shop is also apparently one of the scheduled stops for the "Cherry Train" which is a guided tour that runs several times a day from down at the welcome center by the dock, as a group funneled into the place from it on my visit.

Greta B.

Yelp
I think I may have died and gone to heaven! You could smell it coming into the property. Mmm. It was a heavenly place and luckily not too crowded. (We were there on a Thurs) the gift shop was nicely done with anything you could think of lavender items. We toured the fields and we saw where the lavender essential oils were produced. Everyone was cautious and careful with COVID-19 mindfulness. We'll be back for more!!

Heather G.

Yelp
Where everything is Lavender! Learned a lot about the processing of essential oils while it was happening out in their barn. Great place to buy gifts for everyone on your list. Lavender ice cream cone, yes please!

Peter S.

Yelp
A quaint shop, featuring a wide assortment of lavender and other herbal themed gifts. They have quite a nice variety - from candies, jellies, snacks, teas, books, lotions, fragrances, clothing, and much more. They have a small pâtisserie in the back, featuring exquisite treats which seem to change daily. The staff is very friendly, which contributes a lot to the overall pleasant atmosphere of the store and cafe (though the relaxing smell of lavender sure helps). When I'm back on the island, next, I look forward to paying Fragrant Isle another visit.

Lea S.

Yelp
Like so many other reviews said...exorbitant prices for rude service. I passed on buying any products as I can buy actual high quality lavender essential oil myself for less than their body mist made of water and lavender oil. Thought I'd treat myself to some lavender bakery goodies, and as I was in the process of ordering, the cashier stopped midstream to accommodate a customer who pushed past me and started inquiring on the price of the beer he wanted. The remaining 2 cashiers also joined in to assist him as I was left without any assistance as apparently it was all hands on deck for the loudmouth. After waiting & waiting without success, I turned and left without what I had ordered. The overall atmosphere is what I would describe as a cheap tourist attraction. People swarming the place in a frenzie while being herded around by rude staff. I would pass on Fragrant Isle unless you enjoy that type of experience.

Jenna W.

Yelp
This was a fun lavender farm! They have 9 varieties of English Lavender including a white variety. They distill their own essential oils and have many other wonderful products. We bought a book, some cbd honey sticks and chicken salad sandwiches. The chicken salad was excellent although I did not care for the bread at all. It had almost a bitter lavender flavor that was not on purpose. We would definitely check this place out again.

Polly K.

Yelp
I am a florist and couldn't wait to visit the farm! Although most of the lavender had bloomed, we were still able to see late blooming varieties. Watching and learning about the distilling process was a bonus. I cannot say enough about how engaging and welcoming all of the staff was in the store (and it was a busy weekend, due to the barbecue competition on the island), the staff didn't miss a beat. We tried the macaroons and bought some lavender products and a cookbook. Must see if you journey to Door County.

Elise M.

Yelp
I reflected for several days before posting this, as I wanted to make sure that the review was truly serving as feedback that might allow the business to improve, and not as something coming from a place of spite. Upon reflection, I decided that I want to share what happened to me so that the owner(s) of Fragrant Isle might read this and improve. Upon walking up to Fragrant Isle, I was impressed. The building is new, clean, and looks like it was extremely expensive to build. It looks like an upscale barn and is surrounded by pretty lavender fields. Walking in, you're greeted with the amazing smell of fresh lavender amid a clean and well organized shop. There's also a cafe in the back of the room. I think you can get lavender-themed treats and coffee. It looked very nice. In fact, my husband was so impressed that he leaned over to me and whispered, "Pick something out to buy...we have to support this awesome place." As I eagerly browsed for my gift among their nice selection of lavender home and bath products, my husband wandered over to the back part of the store near the bathrooms. He beckoned to me to follow so he could show me a staircase that appeared to lead up to another area. There was a painting hanging on the landing and no signage or other sort of notice to indicate that it wasn't part of the public area of the store. We had no sooner started to ascend the stair case to what we honestly thought was more of the store, when a shrill voice loudly yelled at us that the area was not public. The woman attached to the voice came rushing over and basically reamed us out by shouting that the area was PRIVATE (emphasis hers), not public. Then she shouted, accusingly, that she thought she saw us trying to go up there before too. She was loud and rude, embarrassed us in front of the store, and made false accusations that we were up to some sort of nefarious behavior to boot. It was extremely off-putting and instead of buying stuff like we planned, we just left. It was upsetting enough that I thought about it for several hours afterwards, but didn't let it ruin my day. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience, but there's another lavender store on Washington Island anyway. We went there instead and I got some nice lavender-scented soap.

Maggie H.

Yelp
I do not like posting negative feedback about charming little shops like this one. However, I was not impressed by the shop much at all. The decor is adorable, the majority of the staff friendly, and the shop is so fun. I however, expected the little bistro/bakery to be better. The wine was just okay, the macarons were almost stale, and tasted more like a meringue cookie - which was a huge let down for me. Macarons are my absolute favorite, and with that being said I bought a box of six and ended up throwing them out. I realize they are an extremely hard cookie to make, but if you are going to sell them then please perfect them first. Secondly it had been a long day of traveling from Oshkosh, WI to Door County, and then a ferry ride to Washington Island. I needed to use the restroom while in the shop. I made my way over and it was locked so I waited assuming it was in use. As I was standing there one of the employees walked up to me and said "You are not allowed to use this restroom. There should be a port-a-potty around the back outside you should use." I was astonished, and a little put off by her rudeness. Who does that?

John H.

Yelp
A great place to stop while on Washington Island. Lots of cool lavender products and even have a place to pick up a sandwich. Very clean, new store. Check out the lavender fields too .Awesome

Yelp
When you step out of your vehicle the scent of lavendar just hits you, fantastic! It was fun walking through the lavendar field. We recommend the vanilla, lavendar, cherry ice cream (Made in Madison). It was pretty expensive to shop here so I bought a bar of soap and some essential oil then we headed on our way.

Yelp
Cute little shop, was pleasantly surprised to find that they served sandwiches and salads. Awesome customer service and delicious food. The hospitality was out of this world!

Yelp
Cute and worth stopping. Loved all the lavender and French stuff, especially the lavender vanilla ice cream and fresh lavender bouquets, soaps and lotions.

Yelp
We had no expectations of Washington Island, let alone a lavender place on it. But this was the perfect first stop on our first visit to the Island. Great customer service (maybe a bit much, but better than none!), great food, great products, great building, great grounds that will only get better. For Island living and touring it doesn't get much better than this. My first lavender hand lotion was purchased in Provence, so it's nice to have a slice of Provence in WI. I wish this place great success. Only negative - the coffee was nespresso. Surely there is some great coffee being roasted in Wisconsin! Such a miss when they were french pressing their great tea! I see the bad review from May and I know negative reviews are so hard to write. Especially for small businesses. But they are also important for Yelp and business owners. Yelp has a great feature now to also write the owners, but maybe in May the owners read the bad review and took care of what may have been a bad employee. That happens on islands for sure! We found all the women working here on our visit in October very kind and enjoying what surely was not a first career.

Yelp
I LOVE anything with Lavender, so when the chance came to visit Washington Island for Lavender Fest I jump on a ferry and went. Their barn is pleasant and filled with their Lavender oil products. The baked goods looked fantastic and the Lavender lemonade was delicious. I think as this evolves it will earn more stars from me. For now I'm at 3 based on the price point for their products. The place is not however something that would take a whole day. So I would recommend taking one of the Island tours or driving around to the other sites. It will be around $50 to get your car and family of 4 to the island on the ferry, so spend the day and see the other sites! PS: there are two Lavender farms on the island.

Yelp
This is the Midwest's largest lavender farm. When you walk into the store, the smell of lavender is pretty strong. There are a lot of lavender products; and some lavender pastries. We had just got off of a three day camping trip on Rock Island. We smelled of wood smoke and were fairly scruffy. At first no one was available to answer questions. Then an attractive lady with a very cool accent walked me around the store. I went there to buy a lavender plant or two. But the plants they had were in 3 inch pots and didn't look very healthy. At $8.50 a plant I took a pass. I thought most everything in the store was pretty expensive. Still an interesting place to visit. We were too early in the season to see the 1000's of lavender plants in full bloom. Would like to see that someday

Yelp
We went to Washington island in early May, when not much is open. We just happened to drive by and this was open so we decided to stop. I'm so glad we did! When you first walk in you get a nice whiff of lavender, but it isn't overpowering. The woman that was working that day was friendly and we had a nice chat. We tried some of the lavender chickadees l chocolates and they were or if this world delicious. Smooth and tasty, with a hint of lavender. Seriously amazing chocolates. We also ended up buying some jam and soap to try at a later date, and we're so excited to try them. Thanks for an awesome visit! We will be back!

Yelp
Beautiful! We picked lavender, enjoyed lavender ice cream, and purchased great lavender products. All the staff was polite and efficient with the large number of people. It was a great experience and very pretty.

Yelp
This is a first class experience. The employees treat you with respect and help meet your needs. It is a great place to take pictures. Also, visit the lavender making operation to appreciate how lavender is made. Overall, we have wonderful memories and look forward to returning.

Yelp
We're a family of 5. We each picked out a souvenir. I paid, and looked at the receipt as the price seemed high. Sure enough, one of our teens misread the price on a sleep mask. She thought it was $9, the cost was$29. I asked if she could return it and pick out something else. I was told no, once a sale "is done, it's done." keep in mind we're at the register, no item has been opened our used. The cashier refused to accept the return even after another associate pointed out that returns are sometimes accepted. She responded " she doesn't like us to take returns, we can't do it." Wow! Horrible customer service. We were going to have dinner there, not anymore.
