Fran's Hamburgers

I've been to Fran's on numerous occasions because it's right in my neighborhood. The food is adequate, but nothing I'd write home about. It's all pretty standard fare; however, the service is fast and the food is freshly made. I like the funky retro vibe of the business; and the restaurant participates in the classic car show each year.

I walked in to order, but stopped at the restroom first to wash my hands. Believe me when I say, "gross extraordinaire!" I have travelled the world including places where bathrooms were mere holes in the ground with chunk of wood on top (no walls). This place, was by far more dirty and horrific. I figured, no matter how good the food, if cared for by the same staff as those caring for this restroom, I'd be taking a gamble with my own health by staying there. Off I went, never to return.

This place has 50's diner written all over it. The exterior matches the interior and they even have a retro jukebox! I can picture Elvis walking in here and ordering a burger. The food is very good and decently priced. Ample parking also exists and with its location on S Congress, it is in walking distance to several other places.

Now CLOSED :-( An era is over. Fortunately still several locations open around town. Been eating here since Fran and Dan were still married. Best burger in town. Ask for grilled onions if you like them. Also serves a great country breakfast.

The burgers are okay, but the fried mushrooms are so freaking delicious! They really should remodel the place because honestly it looks like a dump.

Fran's is the type of place that hot rods park outside of and you feel like you just stepped into a scene from dirty dancing when you walk inside. Burger, shake, and fries. Done.

Very disappointed from what frans used to be, the onion rings were burnt, the burgers had been mushed up. Definatley very disappointed, sticking to P Terrys or five guys burgers from now on

Good hamburgers and fair prices. Like the location, but I don't like the homeless guys bugging me for change while I'm eating my burger outside.
