Amazing local spot. Husband and wife team who run and cook and you can just feel the love in the food. Would definitely go back and highly recommend it!

Food was the best we had in Lake District (after multiple visits over last 6 years). Wish we discovered this place before. The chef was trained in France which arguably makes the best cuisine in the world.

We had the most wonderful dining experience at Francine’s — a true gem for anyone who loves French seafood! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely special. The service was friendly, efficient, and perfectly timed — never rushed, but always there when we needed something. The food was absolutely outstanding. The scallops in particular were cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was full of fresh, vibrant flavors that transported us straight to the French coast. We also enjoyed a wonderful white wine, which paired perfectly with the seafood and completed the experience. Francine’s manages to combine fine dining with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere — the kind of place that makes you feel both pampered and at home. We left with full hearts (and stomachs!) and can’t wait to return. A truly fantastic restaurant in every way!

Absolutely pampered start to end. Dog friendly also and that won my heart ♥️. The most amazing spoilt for choice menu , over and beyond in taste, service and presentation. One of the best restaurants I have been to anywhere in the world. I wish I can come back soon to go through the rest of the wonderful menu. Thank you from London and Madagascar 😉. We visited this wonderful place, the staff very attentive,the food was really tasty. From Ecuador we really enjoyed this place.

The best meal I have ever had! I had pig on a plate. The colours, the presentation, the flavours.... I cannot express how beautiful it was. Definitely be back again as soon as possible. We met the owner Francine and she was our host and she was lovely, nothing was too much for her. Relaxed atmosphere very quick service and excellent value for money.

Food was not bad but we found hair in my steak and i called the waitress not even an apology was expressed…
