17 Best Airbnbs for Enjoying Fall Foliage, From Vermont to Colorado | Condé Nast Traveler

"Built alongside a creek in the White Mountains in the 1960s and long used for multigenerational vacations, this family-friendly cabin sleeps up to eight across four bedrooms and six beds, offers roomy living, dining, deck and backyard spaces, a stack of VHS movies and games, and a kitchen that’s serviceable for family dinners — but be mindful there’s only one full bath and a sensitive water system, so it’s best for families comfortable with a more rustic experience." - Alex Erdekian, Jessica Sulima

Folks looking to rent a vacation house in the White Mountains should contact owner/operator Cort Roussel of Franconia Notch Vacation Rentals. Cort has a wonderful portfolio of homes in the area within close proximity to the major ski mountains (Loon, Cannon, Bretton Woods) and popular White Mountain day hikes such as Mount Washington, Mount Flume and Mount Lafayette. Cort was my rental agent when I owned a home in the White Mountains and all of my guests enjoyed working with him. I often received feedback such as “Pleasure to deal with”, “Quick response” and “very knowledgeable about the area.” If you don’t hear back from Cort right away, it’s probably because he’s bending over backwards to make a client or owner feel comfortable. I consider Cort to be the best Rental Agent in the state of New Hampshire.

I have used FNR for seasonal rentals in the past. This year I was assured that my rental would be available for this year. I spoke with them in the spring and early summer and was reassured that rental was available. In late summer, I called to sign a lease over ten times and also emailed. They never responded to any calls or emails. The house was sold and now my three young boys, my wife and I have no place for the winter. I have been trying for a few months and still no rental. If they would have let me know the house was unavailable, I wouldn’t be in this predicament. Horrible, unprofessional service by Cory.
