Interview With the Avino Sisters of Palazzo Avino in Italy - AFAR

"And the place I really like to go for drinks is Franco's at Le Sirenuse. The drinks over there are so wonderful, and the thing I like the most is the popcorn that comes with the drinks." - Laura Itzkowitz

Google
This is probably the coolest bar in Positano, especially if you can enjoy the view from the front row. Unfortunately, there is little chance of this, maybe in the morning hours ..especially because the place is fully booked. The prices are obviously expensive, 3 cocktails are almost 100 euros with service, but it is definitely a memorable experience. The service is very friendly ... the cocktails are of high quality. Those who do not enjoy the most beautiful view from the front may obviously be disappointed, especially since even the tables at the back have to wait a long time .. ...🍹🍸

Google
Ok.. 5 stars all around, but was weird having a “minimum” of 40€ per person to sit up front, when the cocktails cost anywhere from 22-28€ a piece. It I get it, I’m in Positano. I took the bait. Have to admit it is nice sitting up front. The drinks were super tasty, so ordering more than 1 was a delight. Staff was attentive and polite. All in all a great spot.

Google
Definitely a must-go and see if you’re in Positano 🤭 It’s a bit pricey for sure but with such a view you don’t mind it and enjoy this experience. I loved the atmosphere there and the service was amazing. Had such a wonderful time there ☺️

Google
If it’s your first time in Positano- this is worth checking out! They don’t take reservations, so beat the crowds and don’t expect a seat with a perfect view since there are only a few seats at the window but its still a stunning view with great cocktails. The staff is really nice and its a great location in Positano. Just a warning its definitely more tourist here (at least when we went it was predominantly American) which is fine! Just don’t expect a local spot with affordable/cheap drinks. The views are worth it and the cocktails are awesome!

Google
5 stars Just for the view and the vibe, but the cocktails were the worst I have tried and my cousin got one where they forgot to put alcohol at all. They added it later, but the taste was still horrible, instead of watermelon you could taste cucumber only. I got a non alcoholic one. Our three other cousins were ok with their choices. The minimum spend of 20€ for person in the second row, and 40 for the first row. I would reccomend you better get simple drinks and two of them instead of those cocktails. And the wait is staged, cause I could see the same tables released for 20 minutes before they let someone else enter.

Mohammad Nazar

Google
Good place to stop by. Limited tables, so you might wait before entering. It has a good view. No reservations, only walk-ins. It's a bit crowded and packed, but I liked it. The view is great, and the staff were excellent.

Google
I do not get the hype around this place. The bar opens at 6 pm and by 6:15 pm there are at least 20 people in line to get in. We were staying at Le Sirenuse so we walked by after dinner around 9:00 pm on our way back to the hotel. There was no one waiting in line, so we decided to stop for a drink. Despite no one waiting in line, they still make you stand outside for 10 minutes. We were taken to a low top tiny table with tiny ottoman chairs. All the "tables" were so close together you might as well have been in conversation with everyone on either side of you. The service was slow and they never asked if you wanted another drink, which was fine since the drinks were average anyway. There is also zero shade so if you do go at 6 pm, you will be in the blazing sun for at least 2 hours. There are other places in Positano with better service, better drinks and better seating.

Google
Remarkable view and superb, stylish design! Filippe, the manager, cheerfully accommodated our request for a shady table while deftly handling all the neighbor’s photo requests and influencer girl’s filming. We nibbled on exquisite, orange scented mini doughnuts with our coffee drinks. Perfect service and the best place in town.

Yelp
Had the most amazing time. Can right before sunset and the host was so sweet - she sat us in the front line which meant you have to buy two drinks each but it was SO worth it. The area is so very put together and cute! The first row chairs were comfy and we could've stayed there all night. The drinks were delicious and elevated. And the staff were so knowledgeable! Heads up that we did have to wait in a line to get in and the wait time is unpredictable. We got lucky and made it in time for the sunset but Ive heard that not always the case.
google avatar

RocknRob G.

Yelp
The drinks are great and olives are a great touch as well but the wait for what you get meaning the view wasn't my fav other spots were just as good or better. But you have to try it once and the popsicles that they gave us in line were a nice touch.

Yelp
Ordered: Ieri, Oggi, Domani cocktail (~€25): Casamigos Blanco, Aperitif wine, passionfruit, and Prosecco Aya's take: Franco's Bar can't help but be eye-catching when you walk by! From the colors to the ambiance to the music, we had to check it out. It was our last night in Positano and the night was still young! I like the complementary popcorn and olives they gave us to start. And we were definitely off to a good start with the saltiness of the popcorn and brininess of the olives. The cocktail was good but not exceptional. At that price point, I expected the spirits and juices to be combined more masterfully. If you're looking for a chill vibe to unwind after dinner, Franco's Bar will do the trick.

Yelp
Incredible views and friendly staff! They offer interesting drinks here. I ordered Path of the Gods - champagne with pistachio syrup. I didn't like it or dislike it but it was interesting to drink effervescent champagne with a heavier syrup like pistachio. My husband had a mint mezcal drink that was delicious though and my dad enjoyed his gin and tonic. Prices are steep, and one of the most expensive (next to Aldo's). But you get the incredible view with it!

Yelp
VIP sunsets with VIP views at this gorgeous, exclusive, one of a kind, bar. Yes, you're paying for your drink: aka the best view in the house. What to expect? Long lines, tiny seating, ok drinks but a WHOLE vibe. Come dressed up and dress the part. We came after a day of sightseeing so not the cutest outfits but if you're in the area come dressed up. It will elevate your whole experience and it truly feels like a VIP bar experience. Again, the drinks were just ok and highly pricey. But then again, when will you ever be in a place like this? All cocktails come with a cute box of popcorn and olives. Yes, other aperitivo places are a lot more generous but like I said, you're paying for the vibes and the views. Once you know that and what to expect you'll be perfectly fine. It for sure is worth the line and the wait. An amazing experience I won't forget with a very forgettable drink. Like I said, you're in Positano with the best view of the house. Even the locals love coming here.

Yelp
Yes, I'm sure you've heard it all before. The prices are steep but the views and vibes are immaculate, the drinks are tasty, and what better place is there to watch a Positano sunset? If you want to avoid lines, I strongly suggest arriving at least 45 minutes before sunset. That way you can settle in with a nice cocktail, watch the sunset, and laugh while everyone else waits in line wishing they were you. At 25€ per drink, no one really stays for long so the good news is if you do get stuck in line, it usually moves pretty quickly, especially if you don't have a large party (great for couples!) The service was also so surprisingly friendly and welcoming here both times we stopped by, which was not always what we experienced elsewhere in Positano/Italy in general. Do it for the gram--you know you want to!!!

Yelp
Really fun place for drinks. The drinks were ok but the views made up for it. The service was good and they give you olives and popcorn. Really great tequila menu. Overall, it's more of a place for great vibes and views of Positano!
google avatar

Yelp
Chi beve vino campa cent'anni Went to Franco's bar and this is definitely the place to be! This bar has the best views of the city and the fun part- right next door to our hotel! Before this place opens there's a line down the street! We headed over for drinks and it was actually great! We did sit in close quarters by people but we ended up making friends with those next to us, it was a great experience! If you can get in it's worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
I didn't know about this place until we got to our hotel and I looked up this bar. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that this spot was literally a few steps from our stay in Positano. This place is highly famous on TikTok for their picturesque drinks and even better night time views. We went here for drinks and enjoyed every moment. Now, please note the minimum spend was €50/table and €100 for the tables that overlook Positano. So keep that in mind. The drinks (in my opinion are delicious), and the €100 was money well spent because of the experience. Of course, there are other places that you can get a drink but this place has fun drinks, great ambiance, and fun lounge music. This experience was more of a "let's give it a try and see what it's like". Do it for the experience, and the delicious drinks.

Yelp
Had an amazing rum drink called pirata!! It was so good in a funky glass but no problem there. I kept ordering it. We came before dinner and then came after dinner. We got in like about 30-45 mins before opening. There were about 10 people in front of us and we still managed to get the last spot in the first row. The first row does have a minimum spend but if we both got about two cocktails each it will end up right around that minimum. Drinks are pricey but it was the first drink I enjoyed in Positano. Once the sunsets about 15 mins after opening it's not so bad on the face. Great service and we met some cool people. We would go back!
google avatar

Marilyn J.

Yelp
The location of the bar is picturesque! You get the views of Positano that you see in pictures and movies. Amazing views, vibe and music. Drinks were extremely overpriced though. To sit by the glass window/waterfront, you need a reservation. We sat at another table initially but asked to be moved when a waterfront table opened up which we were able to shortly after. One of the waiters told the couple sitting next to us there was a minimum to sit there. We were not charged a minimum for the table, so something to clarify before you choose those seats as well.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
Pretty view, obviously. And our waitress was on point. But its tiny, tik-tok central and everyone looks miserable to be there. It's basically just like being in LA. They do have really yummy popcorn though. Definitely tourist trap vibes. Not worth your time. Its just a bunch of lame, self absorbed people trying to look like theyre not as unhappy as they really are.
google avatar

Nika P.

Yelp
We had heard about the popularity of this place but when we sat down we were shocked. You really get a view anywhere in Positano so to say that you're paying for the view really makes no sense. One cocktail being €25 is absurd. Would really benefit from some better music, maybe a dj to make the vibe match the price. The service is lackluster, but it is europe after all. Cocktails were fine, closer to $17 quality

Yelp
Food: 4 Stars Service: 1 Star Located right next to one of the most luxurious hotels in Positano (Le Sirenuse), you'll find the upscale cocktail venue- Franco's Bar. Franco's stands out along the street from the others by it's contemporary decor and vibrant colors. The venue offers gorgeous views of Positano and is absolutely stunning during those golden hours. Franco's is strictly a bar. They don't offer any food other than olives, nuts, popcorn (etc) to snack on while you enjoy sipping on their fine spirits. Their cocktails are refreshing on a hot summer day and beautifully crafted. What I really disliked about this venue was the lack of service. It took roughly half an hour for a server to acknowledge a small group of us and even longer to take the first round of drink orders. By the time 2/3 of us were ready for our 2nd drink, she disappeared and took another 30-45mins to get back to us. We made several attempts to just order drinks at the bar, but were told that we needed to wait for the server to take our order. Closing our tab was a headache in itself and took way longer than needed. Stop by if you have the patience and are eager to check out the view.
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
Classy bar with a view, great drinks and good vibes, service and tunes, only pitfall is that they closed at midnight so we had to go elsewhere or we would have stayed. Complimentary popcorn with your first round!
google avatar

Peter D.

Yelp
If you are looking for a sunset happy hour, or if you want to keep the party going after dinner with something beyond limoncello or another bottle of wine, Franco's is Positano's answer to a rooftop bar. Cocktail culture is slowly spilling over into Italy, and this is one of the few spots we encountered in Positano that is giving it a go. It's definitely pretty pricey (especially for American spirits, which isn't surprising since they are imports) and the cocktails are just solid... ...but they do have a sweet brain lamp made out of cupcake wrappers, so there's that.
google avatar

Andrea K.

Yelp
I loved everything about this place and would recommend it to anyone who visits positano. The view (especially around sunset) is stunning! The drinks are a bit on the pricier side, but they have delicious cocktails as well as complimentary olives and popcorn. The servers also came around with skewers of mozzarella and tomatoes!
google avatar

Melody S.

Yelp
Our hotel was a short walk across the street so we went here two evenings in a row! Watching the sunset and catching this cliffside/ocean view is absolutely beautiful and well worth the visit. For the first day, we waited in line, and got seated where the sun was beaming and beyond hot. Mind you, we went in August. They do offer hats to guests but we opted for our sunglasses and portable fan instead. You get some relief once the sun sets behind the hill and a breeze passes through. The service was extremely slow, to the point where we thought they forgot about us. Spent a little over two hours there and only had two drinks .. not because of the price but because it took about an hour to get each drink. Price point for cocktails and drinks will make you cringe, but they're creatively crafted and taste delicious! Definitely not heavy pourers for those who like stiff drinks! Complimentary stale popcorn (haha, not joking) and green olives were given to everyone. Our second day was a far better experience. We got the corner seat in the most ideal spot for photos. Service was exceptionally quick in comparison, they refilled our popcorn and olives, and they even went around passing caprese salad kabobs! We got several drinks, stayed longer, and made friends with those who sat near us. I have to say .. whether the service is good or not, this bar is a must see when in Positano! Would recommend to others, would visit again, and would love to come back with friends! Would also recommend getting in line before they open; a line begins forming at about 4:30 even though the bar doesn't open until 5:00, and the early birds catch the good seats, the first round of drinks, and avoid waiting over an hour to get in!
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
This place is the very bad price value proposition. Slow service from people with an attitude. I ordered a glass of red wine for 12 Euro and was served what amounted to 3 shots of wine. The money is not an issue for me but being deliberately taken is a problem. The view is very beautiful if you are sitting towards the front of the bars. Nothing special if you are further back. There are many establishments in Positano with spectacular views. Do not let anyone tell you this is special. This place is just a trendy ripoff. Overrated and poor price/value. They should be embarrassed with their approach to running a business.
google avatar

Elaina D.

Yelp
A cocktail bar that barely adds any alcohol to their 25 euro cocktails cannot receive more than 1 star. You are paying for the Sirenuse name and a view you probably won't be seated next to.
google avatar

Tazeen L.

Yelp
Fun little spot with good music and a great view. Drinks are good but a little light and service is mixed, but definitely worth checking out, especially if you can drop by at sunset. The people watching can be quite entertaining too..
google avatar

Erin D.

Yelp
This craft cocktail bar was one of our favorite experiences in Positano. Since this is relatively new we felt obligated to check it out. Right next to Le Sirenuse, it has an open view to the coastline as it's all outdoors. It's first come first serve, no reservations, and a 20€ minimum. Most cocktails are 10€ so this was easy to meet. We LOVED the cocktails which had creative names like pinto di blu from the song Volare. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Mina G.

Yelp
This place is really expensive but I got to say totally worth it , you have to show up early for happy hour which is 5 o'clock the earlier you are in line the better because the line will go down the street because the view you get is stunning of Positano
google avatar

Kara R.

Yelp
I love this bar! Stayed at Le Sirenuse last week and closed out every night here. The girls that run this place are awesome. So friendly and attentive. I don't know how we did it, but we always managed getting seats with great views!! Love the Pisco sours here

John C.

Yelp
My wife and I were in Positano last week, and ended 3 out of 4 nights at Franco's . We loved it. Of course the view and ambience are wonderful. We've visited Italy many times and Franco's makes the best Old Fashioned we've had in the country (their other drinks were all fantastic as well). But what really made our visit special was Siria, who was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to give us great seats and great service every time we stopped by. Highly recommend Franco's for anyone visiting the Amalfi coast.
google avatar

Sareen K.

Yelp
Very cute spot. You get to see the entire view of Positano from here at night which is beyond gorgeous. The drinks are good, and they give popcorn as a comped snack to munch on. This is an expensive place though, cocktails started off at like 20 euros so get ready to spend, but it is definitely worth checking it out during your stay here.
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Positano! Must see during sunset - amazing views and beautiful ambiance. Their cocktails are great! Especially the Purple Haze. It's a great place for pre-dinner drinks or a night cap. Don't leave Positano without visiting Franco's Bar.
google avatar

Gabriella T.

Yelp
A pretty cool spot with definitely breath taking views of Positano! My friend and I stumbled upon this spot after dinner right before the sun was setting. It was crowded, but we were allowed in right away. It seems they only allow you to be served if you are seated (so not a typical bar where you can go to the bar and grab drinks). The prices are very high, but I must admit the drinks are pretty large. I got a spritz (the one with pomegranate), and I loved it. It was hard to resist drinking it really quickly, but we wanted to savor the one drink we were allowing ourselves to get lol. It's boujee, there's some decent music but no one seemed to be dancing. A spot for a good drink and awesome views with a decent vibe.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Great location with great drinks at fair prices. Get here early for the sunset. Staff and their service is best we have had in Italy the past two weeks. Awesome.
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
Great view with very creative cocktails that are well presented. A don't miss spot in Positano!
google avatar

Joe V.

Yelp
Easily the coolest cocktail bar in Positano... it feels more like you're in a rooftop club on the Sunset Strip, only with much better views. The service is great. The vibe is awesome, sweet tunes and gorgeous everywhere. It's a must.
google avatar

Lyndsay G.

Yelp
Beautiful views. Get there early if you want a decent seat though! I never felt rushed to get up and leave once we had finished our drinks. We were able to relax and take in the views-which are breathtaking. The staff were friendly and attentive as well. Recommend if ever in positano!
google avatar

Ali C.

Yelp
So I was a little hesitant to try Franco's Bar because it seemed a bit stuffy, but I'm so glad we did. Turns out, it's not stuffy at all - you get all types there, from the expected Instagram influencer wannabes to normal people on vacation like us lol. We sat at the bar, but were actually offered prime seats by one of the staff members. We weren't going to be there long, so we declined. The bartender was super friendly and we were mesmerized by the drinks he was making! Before we left, we knew we needed a picture of us with the iconic view as the backdrop. Once again, one of the friendly staff members offered to take our picture. There are definitely other bars with views in Positano, but really glad we stopped here!
google avatar

Doug P.

Yelp
First of, if you are reading this you either made it to Positano or plan on going there. For that I say congrats- get ready for relaxation, good food, and beautiful view. Franco's is the place to go for this. It is located on a rooftop patio of one of the high-end hotels (well the entrance is off the street- but in the hills of Positano one man's roof top is another man's street level). During the early evening (before sunset) it can get hot from the direct sun and no shade. Be prepared to wear something light and breathable. After sunset it cools down and is much more comfortable. The drinks are pricey for Positano standards but they are delicious and refreshing on a hot day. Pop and techno pretty much blasts continual through the speakers. A great place to go before or after dinner!
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Great cocktails (love the Dolce Vita) and beautiful views. It's one of the few bars in Positano that stay open late and the patio is gorgeous. Get there early if you want one of the spots that overlooks the ocean.
google avatar

Carlo A.

Yelp
Beautiful space, friendly service, great drinks -- what more could you ask for in a setting like Positano?! We didn't have to wait for a table, luckily, but lines would form periodically and I can understand why. It's a scene, for sure, but not too much of one -- and it's worth coming here just to experience this side of Positano life.
google avatar

Faith V.

Yelp
Franco's was perfect for grabbing a drink with a small group, the pomegranate martini was amazing! If you're looking to mingle or dance this is not your place

Brian M.

Yelp
Great bar in Positano. We went there several evenings for happy hour before dinner. Perfect sunset views and good music.

Sheetal R.

Yelp
The drinks here are not good at all. We came in because the place looked trendy but the drinks were extremely subpar. Atmosphere is great however they don't know how to make a Paloma and an Old Fashioned - which would be okay in Italy but not for the prices they are charging. We stayed away from this place after that. So many other places (even at the beach that make better drinks at lower prices). All the drinks were really watered down here.
