Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

We made a lunch stop here on our way to Boston, following a coworker’s recommendation—and it did not disappoint! The Pepe Salad and Veggie Pizza were both fantastic, bursting with flavor, and the portions were surprisingly generous. My wife and I easily shared a small salad and pizza and left completely satisfied. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity. A welcoming spot with delicious food that we’d gladly return to. Highly recommend if you’re passing through or just looking for a great, hearty meal!

Truly some of the best pizza you can find—timeless, flavorful, and unforgettable.

Frank Pepe’s absolutely lived up to the legend. The pizza was incredible and cooked to perfection. Seeing the original oven still in use was awesome and it really adds to the experience. I also love the way they cut the pizza. It just hits different. The takeout process was seamless and everything was ready without any issues. I went during an off time so traffic and crowds may vary, but either way this is easily in my top 10 pizzas I have ever had. Truly a top notch experience.

As a pizza geek, I had to try what's widely regarded as top 3 pies in the US when I was swinging through Connecticut. The crust was great - undercarriage was very well cooked, loved the slightly uneven char around the perimeter. The mozz melted well, they put a good amount on but too much so it didn't drown out the flavor of the sauce and crust. Pecorino romano was great. Sauce was the highlight of the pie - it had a very sweet tasting notes and was light and simple. Awesome pie! was very glad I tried and definitely made the top 5 list for me. Wish there was a New-Haven style pizzeria in Utah!

AMAZING NEW HAVEN ORIGINAL PIZZA. Love the quick high heat oven on this thing, burnt ends, lovely thin crisp edge, great chewy dough, and sauces are just amazing. More similar to its Napoli counterparts than American ones, with American size. Takes so long to get ready on my visit, for both takeout and dine in, mobile orders also take about as long. Place is okay sized, has two dining places, classic vibes, amazing pizza for sure.

My family and I stopped here on our way from Philly to Maine. I was really excited to try Frank Pepe’s as New Haven supposedly has the best pizza in the US. I ordered take out as it was cold and it would take a while to get a table. If you’re doing the same thing, make sure you order at least 2 hours before. Inside is really cool. They have this giant brick oven which is like 100 years old. The staff were really friendly and upbeat even though they were completely swamped and super busy. The pizza itself was really good. Probably the best pizza I ever had. Better than Sally’s in New Haven. Crust was perfect, a little charred but still soft and delicious on the inside. The sauce and cheese were portioned exactly right. This place is like the Mecca for pizza lovers, you have to go at least once in your lifetime!

One of the top pizza spots in New Haven. They have been around for over 100 years and are known for their quality pizzas. Due to its popularity there can be quite a wait with a line outside. However, it is well worth it. We did not have to wait long and were seated in a booth. They have a decent variety of pizzas but my favorite was their Margherita. They have a good selection of alcoholic drinks including desserts. The pizza was well worth it and Pepes definitely lives up to its reputation.

My first visit to New Haven and really wanted to try this historic restaurant and apizza. I ordered the classic tomato pie, "Frank's way" and did enjoy it; although I still prefer my pizza with mozzarella cheese overall. Great service and experience.
