Frankenmuth Is ‘Michigan’s Little Bavaria’—and It's the Best Small Town for Families

"Perched on a hill in the main part of town, Michigan’s original craft brewery brews German-style beers according to Reinheitsgebot (try The Hef), offers four-sample flights, and has a lovely outdoor terrace with river views—an inviting spot to sip and people-watch." - Katy Spratte Joyce Katy Spratte Joyce Katy Spratte Joyce is a food, business, and travel writer based in Omaha, Nebraska. Overall, we had a decent visit here. We both grabbed beer flights, and our favourite brews were Batch 69, the Hot Rocket Jalapeño Blonde, and the Christmas Beer which came with a cinnamon-sugar rim that was such a nice festive touch. Really enjoyed that. For an appetizer, we ordered the Truffle Parmesan Tots, and those were awesome; crispy, flavourful, and a great start to the meal. For my main, I went with the Brewery Burger. It was okay, not bad, not great. The bacon was crispy, and I liked that they served a fresh leaf of lettuce on the side instead of letting it steam on the burger. I just wish the patty itself was juicier, and a lot of the flavour ended up coming from the oil of the onion rings. Very average overall. My wife ordered the vegetarian Southwest Bowl and really enjoyed it; super fresh, and the cilantro amount was perfect. The one big downside: she found a piece of pulled pork in her supposedly vegetarian meal and had to pull it out of her mouth. Definitely something they need to be more careful with, especially when it comes to dietary restrictions. Worth checking out for the beer, but the food was a mixed bag for us. Stopped in to check out Frankenmuth Brewing after seeing that they were on the TagaBrew trail. I tried a flight that included their Christmas Ale, Pumpkin Ale, Pilsner, and Amber. All were delicious, but I especially liked the Pumpkin Ale and Amber. They are also (at least as of November 2025), running a special where you get a get a free souvenir glass with the purchase of a 20oz Christmas Town Ale, nice!! Nice restaurant/taproom with plenty of room. The patio looks nice and we enjoyed the view out the back of the restaurant. Clean restrooms. After spending the afternoon at Bronner’s we appreciated the restaurant not being completely “in your face” with Christmas. That’s to say that Christmas was present but not overwhelming. Service was fantastic. Our waitress (and my apologies for forgetting her name) was happy to answer questions and we enjoyed talking with her. She was present and helpful but didn’t “hover”. She also offered great suggestions for our flights. We didn’t try the food (sorry, we were planning on Zehender’s) but we will absolutely add this brewery as a stop during our annual visits to Frankenmuth.

Stopped at Frankenmuth Brewery for a very enjoyable lunch. Drew provided outstanding service. The Christmas Town Ale was delicious, especially with the spiced rim. The Brewery Burger is the best I've had in a long time, with the tasty jam on top, along with perfectly cooked bacon and crispy onions. All at a reasonable price. This makes Christmas time a special time for eating out.

Not impressed, my mom got the pulled pork sandwich and she said it was dry. I got the chicken tenders and frys the frys were okay but the chicken tenders were dry wish they would of hand battered them and made them more juicy. They were kind of like an overcooked Wendy's nugget, my aunt got the lasagna and wasn't really a fan. It wasn't a very big portion and it didn't come with garlic bread or a breadstick. Also the restraunt was really cold inside.

This is a must do when we are in Frankenmuth. With both craft beer and wine this is a perfect combination for my husband and I. We enjoy the food and the pretzel is probably one of my favorites. They have a great store in front to get merchandise to go along with their beer. It is clean and has some great views. Our only challenge is with the parking. With limited space in the parking lot, if you don't get there early, you will most likely be parking across the street. It is a short distance but not always convenient.

The SE MI Brewery Discovery Tour continues. A 93° Thursday afternoon in late July calls, no, screams, for a brewery stop. Since I'm heading "up north," Frankenmuth was a great spot for lunch & beer. And they are busy today. The ambient noise from all the conversations is a bit higher than I expected but not "wish I had ear plugs" loud. Sat at the bar. Sam is hustling. Food and drink orders are handled efficiently and professionally. And he checks in despite the load. Kudos. The food was tasty and arrived quickly. The beers are decent, though nothing stood out.

Google
A great place to grab a pint and food while in Frakenmuth. Skip the German and chicken places. Especially if you've done it already. This is where you want to be. Fantastic beer selection, full bar for those that don't prefer beer, and everything was good. The service was excellent, our waitress was friendly, fast, and helpful with the menu. We could tell the other staff were also fun and provided great service. The food was great. We had cheese bread for the table and they did NOT skimp on the cheese. I had the beef dip, we had bratwurst, and all of it was excellent. Frakenmuth brewery gets full marks from me. I left fat and happy. Highly recommended.

Google
Out waitress (older lady, has 1 kid), was amazing. The friendliest and most attentive I’ve had a restaurant in a while. Even though they have a smaller menu in winter and were out of a beer, she told us early and gave us recommendations to swap instead. Our party of 9 was taken care of and she treated the kids like people. We visit almost every year and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else for our Frankenmuth lunch. Love the views from the back windows and atmosphere with the TVs and decor.

Yelp
Out of all the restaurants in Frankenmuth, this is the one I gravitate to. I am not really a big chicken person but I do like wings. I like that this place has a lot of different options so everyone can enjoy the food. The dining area is massive. We got a table near a wall and we were able to fit out wagon in. The only issue is we told the person 3 times we need high chairs and she never brought them. She gave my kids a menu but no crayons. Once our waiter came to get drinks, we told him the issues wnd he resolved them. Once we ordered our food, the only issue is that the wait is pretty long to get it. I gave my kids their snacks and stuff so that they wouldnt cry. They love eating my husband's fries. My husband got the chicken tender dinner and I got bbq boneless wings. We were going to try the spinach dip but we were told that it is frozen and not good. So glad we didnt order it. Next time I do want to try the pretzel because it looks amazing. The food came out hot. Our bill was super cheap. The waiter was also super nice and got us drink refills right away.

Yelp
The last 2-3 times we have eaten here, the food has not been very good. I'm not sure what has happened but I feel like the food quality has definitely gone down hill. The menu is also smaller than it used to be, I believe the menu change occurred sometime post covid. I don't think our family will be coming back with the current quality of food. I got a burger tonight, my husband got the pulled pork nachos which were on special. We also had fried pickles and our kids had mac n cheese. Everything was subpar. It's not even worth mentioning the details, none of it was very good. Also, the entire dining floor was sticky, so my shoes stuck while walking to the bathroom. I'm assuming the floors haven't been cleaned in a while. Overall, as mentioned we won't be returning unless the quality of food improves.

Yelp
A little frustrating that we had some issues with our food, overall the food was pretty decent, just not my favorite. Beer was not my favorite, but the wine spritzer was a good substitute. The root beer they make is pretty good. Would maybe recommend making a reservation or not waiting until you're quite hungry to get there, wait times were a bit long.

Yelp
Updating my previous review from a few years ago. Monday at noon-busy place. Served quickly. Loved the river view. Some food items missing but a variety of flatbreads, bar food, sandwiches, German type food.

Iman S.

Yelp
The service was good. The ambiance is family friendly. The food is less than mediocre at best. We will not be going back. You go to a restaurant for the food. We don't mind paying, but the food has to be good. Not flavorless piles on your plate. My son's chicken patty for his sandwich was so dry we wondered if the dogs would eat it. Sorry and good luck.

Yelp
Beers were great. Service was good. Food was okay. I like the space - big and industrial vibe. Nice seating overlooking the river. Thought the pretzel was odd because of the fried. Why do we fry them? The cheese with the pretzel was good, though. French dip/Big Dipper was okay- the first half was better than the second. Maybe because it was missing cheese on it. All good. Nice visit for a drive through. Glad I got to try the beer.

Yelp
We came during lunch on a Saturday during peak Christmas time. Our wait was an hour, no big deal for us! We had Christmas ales while we waited and they were delicious! And the bar tender was very quick and efficient! I like the warm cozy vibe of the place. But that's really where the positives stop. There's not really any options for a vegetarian here, so I got a cheese pizza. It tasted exactly like a pizza bagels back in the day. I had the biggest stomach ache after eating here, which really put a damper on our trip :( We were also seated in the heated patio, which we thought would be fine. However, it was very cold. The covering for the patio isn't tight or sealed, so the cold air is still getting in! We were freezing ! Overall, I would never recommend this place for food, but I really annoyed my beer !

Yelp
Excellent service and great outdoor seating on the river, when the weather cooperates. The deep fried giant pretzels are worth stopping in for alone! Big place, great for families and groups. Yes, on the touristy side, but, their brews are actually quite good, and we are beer snobs. Michigan cherry salad and crispy Brussels sprouts are delicious, would order both again, along with the giant pretzels! Parking can be tough, small lot, so be prepared to walk a bit. A laid back ambiance with cool hits from the 70s playing throughout. Screens all over if you're trying to catch a game. One of our fav stops whenever we are in little Bavaria. And we usually take some beer to go as well.

Yelp
I can say without a doubt this is one of my favorite places. Over the years there are to very distinct times I make a trip to this spot, the first being Oktoberfest and the second at some time during the Christmas Holiday. Why these two specific times you ask? Well allow me to tell you. First, I believe Oktoberfest is pretty self explanatory, but my friends and I have made it a bit of a tradition to stop here first before heading to the park. Their Oktoberfest Marzen and their Pumpkin with the cinnamon sugar rim are both so delicious. In a way I'm glad it takes me 90 minutes to get there because if it was closer I would be 300 lbs of beer. Second time of the year is during the Christmas season when they release their Christmas Town Spiced Beer. OMG!!! The Best Christmas bar none. Yum yum to the yummy yum!! Please note all the exclamation points. I've only eaten here a few times over the years but I've never had an issue with the food or the service here. They have both been spot on, and while the food isn't Michelin 3* I have always found it very good. If you're in the area and want to skip the lines at the overrated chicken places, this is so much better in every way.

Yelp
Was told 3-hour wait. I counted at least 8 empty tables that remained empty for over an hour.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
We came here because the reviews were good and a change from our usual favs. Overall the food was just good. It wasn't bad. The Reuben was over toasted, the beans overly sweet and the hot pretzel was overdone and the cheese tasted overly warmed and clotted. The mocktails were good though. Overall, just ok.

Yelp
While on a tour... around all of Michigan... we happened upon Frankenmuth. The other places to grab food didn't look as interesting as the brewery so we gave it whirl. This brewery is pretty big and spacious. Seems really good for groups. Since it was just my mom and I, we were lucky to get a table on the back patio that overlooks the little river. It's always really nice to sit outside on a nice day near the water. Something about water is soothing. Anyways... we were greeted and sat quickly. Our server swung by and dropped off waters right away and then came back to take our orders a few minutes later. We were there on a Wednesday and it seemed like all the folks working were spread a little thin. Probably so since it's hard to gauge how busy the weekdays are going to be. We had to flag down a different person to get our check. We weren't super hungry ... so we ordered a couple beers, the pretzel (which is HUGE btw) and a salad. The beers were ok. I think the CO2 was off because they seemed flat. Probably just a fluke. The pretzel and Michigan Cherry salad were very good and plentiful. The salad was large and I'm glad we shared it... lots of fresh greens, dried cherries and apples. It really was the perfect summer salad.

Yelp
Super disappointed in our most recent visit here. Our server was great, but the food was not. We used to come here specifically for the buffalo chicken egg rolls. They used to be pretty large, wrapped in a wonton wrapper and filled with delicious buffalo chicken and cheese. Today's version is much smaller, the exterior breading is far too thick and has no flavor, the buffalo chicken was decent, but these are not at all worth the price. I also usually get a brat and today's brat we like warm at best, a little bit mushy - I only ate a few bites. The bun it was served on was way too much bread, it was t toasted or steamed or anything. The buffalo chicken egg rolls were off the menu for quite some time - if this is how they're going to serve them now, they should consider leaving them off the menu. I cannot recommend them or the brat. It feels like the general quality of the food has deteriorated. I hope it was an off day for the kitchen. Not sure when we will be back, but I'll update the post if/when we do. Oh, I almost forgot! The highlight of the meal was the baked beans - they're unique as they have root beer in them - they're delicious. The first bite on my palette was a little bit like "wait a minute, I'm not so sure about this!" But I would definitely get them again - really flavorful, and the beans were cooked to perfection with great flavor! FYI - super small parking lot so if you go, plan on walking a couple blocks.

John W.

Yelp
Love the beer. Food is nothing special. You won't leave hungry but you also won't say "that was good". Do not get the chicken schnitzel...it's horrible. Mashed potatoes were ok but the chicken is pre-packaged frozen chicken breasts. Not sure how you can charge a premium for frozen chicken. Go for pizza and beer and you will be ok.
google avatar

Yelp
Brewery Burger was amazing and also had a lemonade sweet/sour type mocktail. Very tasty! Our server was also great and made sure to check on us. I love this spot because it's easy to find a table to eat and I've never had to wait when I've come here.

Steve G.

Yelp
Sunday afternoon, 75° and sunny, we were Quickly seated right up on the rail at the "covered" open air patio upstairs. With a nice view of the Cass River. Fish (3) and chips were tasty and the Penne a La Vodka was delicious (even though the chef forgot to add 'fresh basil' as listed on the menu). The Hef in a 20 oz glass was perfect. Our server, Dani was very pleasant and super attentive throughout. Our first time here. We will stop in again.

Barbara G.

Yelp
What an amazing spot! Highly recommend the vodka pasta. Salads were also good. Try the strawberry champagne dressing!

Yelp
Frankenmuth Brewery offers Brews and Bangers! Exceeded expectations! SKIP THE CHICKEN PLACES & come here! Your wallet will thank you. The Good: -Brew options offer a wide selection. The Christmas Ale with the cinnamon rim was scrumdilly-umptious. -The pretzel was perfection. So tasty and flavorful. -Jen is the sh*t! She's so authentic and was a great server. We asked her for an honest opinion on the local chicken restaurants, which everyone hyped, but we disliked. She agreed, particularly the one that starts with a Z is highly over-rated, tastes bland, and has the same appearance and energy of a funeral home... see my Zehnders review for more information, #ShamelessPlug)... -Brew-Bang for your buck. Portions are generous and meals are delicious... especially for this area with limited options and insane tourists... seriously, these tourists are from another planet. -Good vibes. Interior was giving trendy warehouse brewery. Solid music and all the sports games a sporty person could ever ask for. TVs for all angles, and projectors for big games. -No wait time. (This is rare for a restaurant in Frankenmuth, during peak season especially) -They have merch for sale. The bad: -Honestly the only thing I have to dog is the mustard that comes with the pretzel. Maybe I'm just a sensitive snowflake, but when I ate this mustard, my whole body experienced the equivalent of a damn near stroke. I kid you not, I lost vision, hearing and felt pain shooting from my throat, sinus and shutting off my brain. It took about a minute to regain senses and from there on, I committed to only eat the pretzel beer cheese, which was amazing... best fricking pretzel cheese I've ever had. -The tables are sturdy - that's good... buuut downside, well I'm not sure if this place follows similar tradition to the German bar in my home town, where people will dance on the tables and chairs... but maybe people just don't do that on a Sunday night, or in Frankenmuth. I almost tried it, but I got scared since the Tigers game was on. Overall, I would totally come back here. Pretzel Perfection, good beer selection, but be cautious of the mustard. The US should consider using that mustard as chemical warfare.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Great beer selection, food is "okay". The menu has changed a lot from varied selections to basically bar food. Seating is beer garden style
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
Super fun place to stop by if you're in town! Great drinks, good ambiance, and fun environment! Service was okay, waiting on our server multiple times and food... eh I'd get food elsewhere. But the beers were delicious and they had fun and festive cocktails! Worth trying and it's open later than most places
google avatar

Kathryn H.

Yelp
The best thing we tried here was the buffalo roll ups. Those were amazing, as someone who doesn't normally like buffalo I really enjoyed them. The chicken bruschetta was also good, it wasn't quite how I expected it as the sandwich varied from the menu information. The rest of the food was average, not something I'd come back for. The building itself was nice, we had a table to ourselves and our waitress came by often to check in. I just wish the food was better for the price.
google avatar

Tom L.

Yelp
Let's start with the positives. The service is consistently excellent, and the atmosphere is pleasant with a great view overlooking the river. The buffalo egg rolls and pretzel appetizers are always a hit. Now for the areas that could use improvement. The beer selection is a bit uninspired, as they brew the same options with very few new or creative variations. We also sampled the seasonal hard cider, and unfortunately, no one in our group enjoyed it. A couple of us ordered the Michigan Cherry Salad, which was fresh and tasty. However, for $16, we expected more grilled chicken--perhaps half a chicken breast--but what we received was more like a quarter of a breast. Additionally, the fries, which were once a very good, have been replaced with bland, generic fries.
google avatar

Alana S.

Yelp
Had the best pretzel ever here!!! Was busy when I visited so I ended up sitting at the bar, however, despite the crowd, I experienced amazing service and dining at Frankenmuth Brewery. I wish I could have taken pictures of both my humongous pretzel and glowing chicken bruschetta sandwich, however, I could not resist digging into them the second they arrived at the table. The food was perfectly cooked, extremely flavorful, and above all, delicious! Inside, there are tons of seats and fun decor. The bartender was super nice too. This place was my favorite part of visiting Frankenmuth. Definitely give it a try!
google avatar

Bob K.

Yelp
Ok place - has a limited food menu but if you like brews and watching football while taking a break from shopping then a great place - Food was good , just a limited menu. Beers were great! Wait time is over an hour and service is ok
google avatar

Blueridge G.

Yelp
This place has gone downhill. It used to be great. The outside is looking old and faded. The door has a gasket dragging along the floor. The food is not good at all. Our fries where not fresh. Our sandwich was bland and mostly bread. Service was good. Done with this place.
google avatar

Karen N.

Yelp
I can't believe my Karen came out. I really wanted the Old, Dog, New Tricks, but they were out of the whiskey. It is made in house and the whiskey maker was coming in later today to make a batch. Well, why in the h$ll wasn't he here all last night concocting the brew?! See what I mean? I had to go with the Doxie Wein instead. It is a nice crisp white. Max had 2 different beers. It is a large restaurant that serves food. We enjoyed our time sitting at the bar taking it all in.
google avatar

Bri V.

Yelp
We have been here several times but this time we came here on a rainy day around lunch time. There was about a 45 minute wait for a table so we just sat at the bar. The bar tenders were very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and gave good recommendations. I got the "root bier" and husband got a pumpkin beer. I ordered the chicken tenders and husband got the brewben sandwich. We both really enjoyed our meals. The chicken had really good breading and was very moist. The fries were soft on the inside and a little crunchy on the outside. Overall this is my husband's favorite place to dine when we come to Frankenmuth.
google avatar

CJ M.

Yelp
To start, the experience we had was above average. I can see how the overall rating is 3/5 and I agree with a lot of the reviews listed. This place has the location, the atmosphere and promise to be great. It truly feels like the direction and management just need to be revamped. The staff has some bad apples and great ones. The food is all across the board. The layout has promise. The front door staffs needs a makeover in their behavior. I hope if and when we come back, the leadership takes there opportunity seriously as I hope the best for this brewery. ** good iced tea!

John L.

Yelp
The only thing 'mile high' about this meatloaf is the disappointment. Ten years ago, this was a legend on a plate. I came back expecting the towering masterpiece I remembered, and instead got a lukewarm slab of 'meh' wearing a bland mushroom sauce like it was ashamed to be here. The mashed potatoes? Runny enough to need a lifeguard. If this is the updated recipe, the 'mile' in Mile High Meatloaf must be the distance you'll have to travel to find something worth eating.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
We arrived about 45 minutes before closing to the restaurant roughly half full and were seated pretty quickly. Frankenmuth seems to shut down by 8pm and we almost missed out on dinner. The service was fine and they were friendly enough. I liked the vibe inside the place, the decor. Nice view of the river. The food was sufficient, nothing to write home about. Check it out if you're here a few days, but I wouldn't necessarily make it your first option. They do have a small "store" of shirts and beers and such.
google avatar

Raquel S.

Yelp
Food was okay, waitress was extremely rude and slow. Every time she'd forget something and we'd remind her that we needed something, she'd roll her eyes and walk away without even responding. It was extremely uncomfortable and we were with our kids. It's a big place, has a lot of potential.
google avatar

Owen R.

Yelp
beautiful spot in a terrific little city (town?) called Frankenmuth... excellent salad and very solid bavarian lager can't wait to go back one day.....
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
Not my favorite place as they have a very select menu during the week. I got the pretzel which was ok, but lacked flavor in my opinion.

Yelp
DATE & TIME OF VISIT: October 26, 2023 @ 1:45pm. They were not too busy (6 other tables besides ours and couple people at the bar). AMBIANCE: Typical brewery, you have a bar that showcases 3 large brewing containers, several tables on the lower level and some on an upper level. Wood "log" type interior decor. Please note: this is not a big place so seating will be an issue at peak times!! And parking lot is SMALL, so be prepared to walk! CLEANLINESS: All looked clean from what we could see. SERVICE / SERVER: The hostess was alright, took her awhile to actually come over and seat us. . Our server was meh, he was not the friendliest and didn't seem to want to be working this day. He was a young get looking longer on the top blonde hair man. We asked him a couple questions and he gave us very brief answers and we're not the "nicest" of delivery. Asked him what beer(s) he would suggest and his answer was ... "I do t know, I don't drink" .... WHAT?!?! That's not how you would answer! FOOD: This is what we ordered.... The Big Dipper -- This was a very tasty sandwich, tender meat, delicious mushrooms and onions, decent size. It's served with fries for $16 Pulled Pork Sandwich -- This was the best sandwich! The pork was SO tender and flavorful, the slaw was perfect taste and crunch, pickle added a nice acidity. This had a great amount of meat for the price. Served with fries $14 BYO Burger -- price starts at $14 for the beef patty with lettuce, tomato, and onion (pickles upon request). Our boys said it was a good burger, but nothing special. If you add cheese it's an extra $1.00 each. An additional $1.00 for caramelized onions OR jalapeño. And an additional $2.00 for bacon OR mushrooms. So our boys burgers came to $17 each. (Overpriced if you ask us!) OVERALL THOUGHTS: We enjoyed the food, some items more than others. Prices were ok for the portion sizes, BUT service was HORRIBLE! The server was not good in any way. He definitely needs some training! WOULD I RECOMMEND OR RETURN? Yes BUT with hesitation.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch and had a delicious Michigan Cherry Salad that had grilled chicken, candied walnuts, dried cherries in a spring mix salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. My hubby had a burger and fries and our daughter had chicken fingers and fries. Food was amazing! (Sorry - forgot to post pics). There is a brewery with house made beers and wines as well. Stopped here one other time as a newlywed over 12 years ago. Amazing then too. Service was friendly and fast! We got to sit outside this time with lovely views by the river. Beautiful. The pricing is way more affordable than the Bavarian Inn or the Zehnder restaurants if you wanted more variety and not to break the bank to eat a meal. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Visited Frankenmuth Brewery on a Thursday during March Madness. We were excited to have a drink and watch basketball. Unfortunately, the place closed at 8p. However, it was busy inside even after 7p. Lots of families with kiddos. Parking is not great. Only a few spots in front of the brewery. Overflow parking is across the street at a hotel. Inside is welcoming with a store front when you walk in and restaurant to the left. Dark wood colors and high ceilings. Impressive bar. Plenty of tables and areas for dining. Staff is friendly and attentive. Great food and drink menu! When we dined it was a winter menu. I went with the Raddler cocktail which was sparking lemonade and Hefeweizen. This drink was delicious, especially if you like a lighter taste in a drink. My husband got the Blonde Ale. We got dessert, peanut butter pie. The pie is huge! Two people, maybe even three could finish this pie. It is impressive and has a delicious peanut butter flavor along with chocolate. The filling was so smooth and crust was crunchy. Good food and drink, just wish it was open a little later!

Yelp
I love the service and food! One of the best restaurants ever! and the inside was super clean and nice. The waiter was really nice.

Yelp
Service was fantastic. Ambiance is fabulous. Food was disappointing. It was delicious. But this is the second time I have been there and ordered chilli. It is more like soup - nearly all liquid and very few beans or meat. I hoped the first time was just a fluke. Nope. The tase is delicious but is a soup. Considering there were few beans or meat, it was an expensive soup. I will return though and try something else next time. The staff are great and location / decor wonderful.

Yelp
We spent the day in Frankenmuth. Our near end of day stop was for an adult refreshment and snack. We stopped by the Frankenmuth Brewery. We'd been here once before - a few years back. The Beer Cheese Soup with Bacon and Pretzel topping was amazing. The beer was good as well. I had to try their Paradigm beer. Sadly, I did not care for it. Gonna stick with Paradigm RVs instead :) Highly recommend this place for beer and food. Our server Casey was great as well.

Yelp
We're back again for our annual Frankenmuth visit, and our hopes for better food in this town has lead us back here. The ambiance is loud but family oriented and bright. The service was decent. Parking can be challenging, so if you can't get a super close spot in their small lot be prepared to walk.

Yelp
Unfortunately we tried to go here twice. The first time was on a Wednesday and they were closed despite what Yelp says. Guess we should've checked their website, that's on us. So we went the next day and they were closed because of overnight snow. We came out twice with our two kids in tow. I think the venue could've opened up with a couple staff like every other brewery I've been to. I was hoping to try a local place beyond Bavarian Inn and Zehnder's, but there is really nothing available to eat in Frankenmuth during the off-season weekday. The whole town is only open on the weekends and some just open when they feel like it during the week. We left town and went home instead of patroning a local business.

Yelp
My dad got the Reuben which was very tasty. My sister got the prime rib sandwich which was very dry. Had to ask for au juice which she forgot. The meat was actually hard as a rock in some places and couldn't be stabbed with a fork. I got the wings which were boneless so clearly out of a Gordon food freezer bag. Drowning in sauce. Had to ask for my ranch dip which she also forgot. Had to ask for water refills because she wasn't coming around to check on us. Never asked how the food was so needless to say her tip matched her service.

Yelp
Refuses seat people within an hour and half of closing. Sorry, people are your business and curse. Management and the general public should know that the host stand will stop seating people despite the posted hours. We were not there for Snow Fest, we stopped in frankenmuth just to go to the brewery on our way home from a very stressful trip.

Yelp
The brewery was almost empty when my group arrived and we had a RSVP. EVen though we told them we had a wheelchair they put our group at a high table and then put me and my husband by ourselves next to them at a short table. When we asked them to be all together at the smaller tables they seemed annoyed. But the manager came out and understood and put us all together at the smaller tables. The beer was great and the food was average. I am not sure I would come back here again unless I was just drinking. Also wheelchair users need to go through the kitchen and up the elevator to get to the bathroom which seems very dangerous. I felt someone should have assisted me through the kitchen but they didn't. Being in a wheelchair and short, two people almost ran into me.

Yelp
Located at the north end of downtown Frankenmuth right on Cass River is Frankenmuth Brewery. It's the perfect spot to end the night and especially if you sit out on their patio, it's a great view of the entire town, especially the old town/River Place Shops, to watch the sunset over the river. Frankenmuth Brewery's mascot is a dachshund, which makes for very cute merch in their whole gift shop, which I'm a fan of. We were on this patio in early January and were a little cold, but not too bad! They have heaters going throughout the entire patio that you can pull closer to your table as well if need be and they also have a great indoor space if you're interested. But the view on the patio is so great, so we sat in our jackets and sipped our drinks, taking in the view. I was there for the spectacular views and fountain drinks. The rest of my party had beers, which they enjoyed, but I can't attest to how good their drinks are nor their food.

Yelp
I visited Frankenmuth because it was on my list of places to visit while in Michigan. Nice town, very quaint. Since it was lunch time and I wanted to also have some German beer in this German town I looked up nearby spots and found this brewery. I ordered the Dopplebock and the "Ultimate Grilled Cheese" I saw that it came with tomato bisque and I saw that earlier on the menu. I went with it. Now the soup and the sando were really good but the grilled cheese didnt have any fixins like a slice of tomato, avocado, or anything so I dont understand what makes "ultimate" I really liked it but for $14 I would think you would get something much more creative. The beer was really good but the bartender lacked any personality :-/ Good place though, check em out!

Yelp
Stopped in for a late morning beverage break. The last time I visited this brewery decades ago they had two styles a Light and Dark. The choices are much broader now and we were delighted to discover they also have wine. My wife enjoyed a flight of wines as I enjoyed several beers. The Batch 69 IPA is quite tasty.

Yelp
A trip to Frankenmuth means a stop into the brewery! Ive been to the Frankenmuth Brewery twice now and both times have been great! Most recently, I went for my birthday. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the baked beans as my side. While the sandwich could use a little more sauce, it was still very tasty! The baked beans had a lot of flavor, weren't too mushy, and the pulled pork in the sauce was a nice touch. I'd definitely order these items again! For dessert, I chose the pretzel bread pudding. It comes with a streusel topping and to me that addition puts it into the overly sweet category. It really needed vanilla ice cream on the side to balance out the sweetness. It seemed more like monkey bread vs bread pudding, there just wasn't enough pudding. I deducted one star due to their small and tight parking lot. Overall it was great experience with a view of the river and we will definitely be back!
