Great for the price. No AC, so hot on a summer day. Breakfast was very good for only €5, would recommend. Lockers in the room were not free. The beds and pillows were comfy, and the free pasta dinner was a warm welcome compared to cooking or eating out all the time.

Nice place. A little cramped at times--the elevator barely fits two people without bags--but serves its purpose. Although additional prices are attached to lockers and laundry, their free breakfast and dinner more than make up for it. Helpful staff. Comfortable rooms and beds, if warm during the summer.

The reception was a definite 3. Some of them were nice, polite and helpful but others might seem not that friendly. I waited for 30 mins when I arrived just because she told me we’re changing shifts then forgot all about my existence. 💔🤦🏻‍♀️ The room’s facilities could definitely be improved. Maybe some shower gel wouldn’t go too far! Or thicker blanket when its so cold. The rooms definitely need better lighting. The 3 of my roommates were complaining of this too. You could barely see things let alone read a book or do makeup. A big thumbs up 👍 goes to their Pasta night idea. I love how pasta gets everyone together. Another thumbs up 👍 is their location! Was really convenient for me.

The place is fine. Rooms are really really warm, so really not ideal for summer. Staff really not friendly at all. Had my questions being dismissed by reception and request for a bottom bed completely ignored with no further explanations although the room was completely empty. Poor free dinner. Location is the best one anyone can hope for, literally 1 min away from the train station and bus stops.

This hostel is okay if you just need somewhere to sleep, but the building and facilities are dated. The included breakfast and dinner is a nice addition. The bunks don't have power outlets nearby or a light or a curtain, part of the shower was broken in my room and to use the lockers cost extra. I thought it was a bit expensive for what you got: the cost per night didn't reflect the level of quality you received. Staff were helpful with directions.

Such an amazing convenient location. They have a bar, a restaurant, laundry service, etc. The workers are friendly and organize a free pasta night every night for tips. They also have free breakfast here. I stayed in both the dorms as well as private room. My private room was great it had a small balcony that over looked the main area. I definitely recommend and would stay here again

Nice hostel. Beds very comfy even in larger dorms. Very communal atmosphere in the lobby with lots of opportunities for socialising. We had the free pasta one evening which was a very hearty portion of pasta, nothing fancy but excellent on a budget and tasty. Free walking tour from just up the road is worth a trip. In the evenings there is excellent sunset over the river, and the train station is just up the road.

Our stay at Frankfurt hostel was decent. It's located in a little bit of a sketchy neighborhood, but if you aren't bothered or intimidated by the homeless people constantly outside the door smoking drugs or something than you won't find any issue with it. Rooms are clean enough and although sparse, bathrooms are spacious and clean. You do get free breakfast and dinner. Dinner is just pasta with red sauce and breakfast is basic but free (so no complaints). I think given the price I'd stay here again, although if something else were available for the same price I'd probably check it out first.

Yelp
The entrance to the hostel is a little ambiguous - I missed it the first time I walked past it. You have to be buzzed in, which I thought was a little strange, and the elevator is extremely tiny (people in wheelchairs, I'm sorry but it took me a good 8 minutes to help a woman in a wheelchair in and out of this elevator). The lobby is on the third floor, and the workers are very nice and helpful. There's a kitchen that guests are free to use, and free pasta dinner is served at 8pm nightly (but this pasta dinner is literally just pasta tossed in tomato sauce). The rooms are what you'd expect in a hostel. Not amazing but it was also livable. I was in a female-only dorm, which had our own private bathroom and shower which was nice. The complaints I have are that: 1. The wifi doesn't reach the rooms so you have to be in the lobby to use it, and it's very. very spotty. 2. they use card keys but it's VERY difficult to use - i had to have my roommate open the door every time because it wouldn't unlock for me. And I know i'm not the only one with this problem because this happened to our other roommate three times throughout the night as well. 3. having to wait to be buzzed into the hostel can get pretty annoying, especially when no one answers for a while. But you get what you pay for, and the hostel got the job done - a warm place to sleep, a bathroom and shower, and wifi.

Yelp
Stayed in a 8-bed dorm for 1 night. All males. One guy seems to be living in that room because all his stuff was everywhere. He kept his food outside the window to stay cold since there is no fridge for guest use. He looked like a veteran. I also saw a lot of older folks. Like from 50s to 70s. Pros -Free breakfast and dinner to those that like that kind of thing (they take tips, lol). Example for breakfast: cheese, apples, donuts, butter, jams, cheese, ham, salami, pastries, bread, toaster -There is a computer room -You need a keycard to enter your floor, your room and any bathroom even on the reception floor -Pillows are better -Reception is 24/7 -There is a luggage room to store your baggage Cons -I saw one of the ladies behind the counter picking out the frozen bag of buns and cutting cheese with her bare, unwashed hands. -Small room. Just looks like they cramped lockers and 4 bunk beds when 2 bunk beds and 1 single bed makes more sense. -Bathroom was clean for the most part but not free of mildew/mold that builds up in the shower -You have to pay a deposit to use the room lockers Will I return? Hell nah

Yelp
For traipsing around Frankfurt, there is no better hostel than Frankfurt Hostel. Only a three minute walk from Frankfurt's main train station at Kaiserstrasse, visitors have easy access to getting to the airport and other parts of Germany. The subway is housed below the train station and there are many bus stops out in front. I stayed here a few nights, by myself, while exploring the city. I captured a great deal on their website for a single en-suite room. My room was clean and basic with a huge futon like bed, closet, and a small TV. I used the television to listen to the music on MTV as I got ready. I remembered it was the first time I had ever heard Christina Aquilera's, "Not Myself Tonight." I watched the video in amazement. I had been living in Europe for a few months and realized I was completely out of the loop! The first night the rowdy guys next door woke me up around 3 AM laughing about their hoochie house experiences. Supposedly, they went to a whore house and one guy got stuck with a nasty chick. Aw, boys will be boys. I made a plan to come home shit faced or not at all, if I wanted to be able to sleep peacefully the next night. The bathroom had a small stall shower, medicine cabinet, and a hairdryer. Thank GOD for the dryer because I hadn't been able to fit mine in my minuscule carry-on. It also came equipped with towels, which is included in the price, unlike other hostels. The vibe of the hostel is young, laid back, and fun. They house a great selection of beers in the bar, including my fave Spaten. The bar also duties as the check-in counter. The social/eating area was large with enough room for groups, as well as smaller high tables and chairs for independents or strays like myself. There is also a hospitality area if you want to cook yourself up something to eat. Down the hall is a computer lab, if you didn't bring your laptop. It was 1 euro for an hour. Across the street is Reilly's Pub, I met quite a few fun locals. The pub has karaoke and dancing on the weekends. It was ridiculously fun! Also, below the hostel is a sex shop. I thought that was odd to have below a hostel until I was told by a local that I was staying in the midst of Frankfurt's Red Light District. Niiiiiiiice. With all the fancy upscale shops nearby you would never think that was the case. I never had any problems walking around by myself and I didn't see any "ladies of the night" wandering around. When I go back to Germany, I would have no problem chugging a Spaten and kicking back again at good ole' Frankfurt Hostel.

Yelp
Bed bugs! It's a shame because the hostel rooms are quite clean and the staff are nice. But this place has a pretty bad bed bug infestation. I booked for one night stay in a 6 female dorm. I checked into my initial room (409) during the evening and found bed bugs crawling all over the pillow. I asked the staff if I could switch rooms and they switched me to another room (410). They were apologetic and nice. I thought I escaped the bug problem, but there were even more bed bugs in the new room. I tried staying up all night to get rid of a few. I even saw some crawling on my backpack. Of course, I woke up with TONS of bites the next morning. I developed an allergic reaction to the point where I couldn't bend my fingers because of how swollen they got. The bites also got infected. It's very annoying and painful. Please be aware of this issue!!!! The hostel needs to address this. I reported this to them in person and emailed their customer service. They basically replied "it's not our fault. Guests tend to bring them into the rooms and if they switch rooms, they will bring to other rooms.." Which shows me that they don't immediately clean or sanitize a room once a guest reports a bed bug problem. They should clean and sanitize a room EVERYDAY regardless of bugs or no bugs......... Besides the bugs, the hostel location is close to the station which is great. But it is also near the red light district so be aware of the chaos and noise of the area. There is no WiFi in the rooms. Only WiFi in the hostel lobby. And there are limited outlet plugs in the rooms.

Yelp
The only other hostels I've stayed at are in Central America, so I was blown away with the cleanliness and modern vibe of Frankfurt Hostel. It's huge and essentially hotel like with multiple floors. Free breakfast and free pasta dinner was great and very ideal. There's a bar also with cheap coffee, etc, and cheap beers/drinks. Was perf for pregaming! It's right across the street from the central Frankfurt hbf train and bus station which is great. Next to a lot of restaurants and walking distance to other things. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and really nice. I stayed in an all female 4 bed room. Staff is friendly and helpful for the most part. I read reviews that said there's an older crowd which is not always typical of hostels. Gotta agree. Was kinda weird to see people 40+. No offense! It's not the MOST social hostel ever, but my friend and I were able to meet people if you just approach and are open :) Wish the rooms had wifi not just reception but its ok

Yelp
This hostel is a good model for all hostels in large cities. Firstly, it's conveniently located; right across the street from Frankfurt's main train station which itself is located 12 minutes by train from Frankfurt's international airport; Germany's busiest airport. You can walk to any part of the city from the hostel without having to buy a subway/bus/tram ticket (it's not that big of a city) and you're there within 20 minutes. Secondly, it offers the most relaxed of atmospheres; you feel like you're at home when you're there. The lobby offers a chill ambiance with great music and awesome people with whom to hang out. The rooms are really clean yet not super modern, which makes me feel more at home. There is also a kitchen for you to cook your own food and store your own food if need be. There are also three balconies, accessible from the lobby which is located on the third floor. Thirdly, it offers great specials; free spaghetti dinner every night and a free continental breakfast every morning , as well as various drink specials at its bar. There are weekly walking-tours throughout the city and sometimes even live-bands on the weekends. The prices for a night's stay are also, in my opinion, special, because they are the cheapest in all of Frankfurt. You can get a single for as low as 49€ and a 10-bed dorm for as low as 13€, depending on the time of year you stay. Finally, the staff is awesome; great, fun-loving people who will also hang out with you after their shifts are finished. Always ready to help out and quick at checking you in and out. The only negative is security; the area is not the best, so ALWAYS watch out for your belongings. There are many shady people in that area of the city and sometimes they come in the hostel. If you pay a 2€ fee, and a 10€ security deposit, you can get a locker in the room in which you stay....use it. Never leave your things lying around. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. Just watch out for your belongings...

Yelp
Cons: -Black hairs/boogers all over the bed (I stayed in the same room my entire stay) -Limited hot water in the rooms -No A/C Pros: -Great location, right next to train station and subway -Atmosphere is awesome, free breakfast, free pasta each night -Met so many interesting people from all around the world -Kitchen with fridge you can use at your disposal Overall I would stay here again and recommend it to a friend. You just have to suck it up a little. BRING YOUR SHEETS FROM HOME LIKE ALWAYS.

Yelp
We started and ended out Germany trip in Frankfurt. Though we ended up at Frankfurt Hostel because our first and second choices for lodging were booked full, it's the only place we bothered to check on the our return. It's right near the train station, so you can't beat the location. They occasionally offer a pasta dinner for the guests, which is also super convenient, if you just need something to not be hungry. The lounge area also has a bar with some reasonably priced drinks. Free wifi, a kitchen area, and very helpful staff. The beds in the dorm rooms are typical hostel bucks. There are lockers available for use, though I think that's an extra deposit. They've got a solid breakfast spread, pretty standard fare, but tasty nonetheless. Overall, it's a simple, laidback, reliable hostel. While that would all add up to a pretty average review, the cheap price and ample number of beds make it a pretty outstanding place. Unless you're specifically looking to stay somewhere nice, save yourself some walking and just go straight there.

Yelp
This is the worst hostel I ever been too. For the 3 nights I stayed, I could not get any sleep: one day the room got overbooked and staff had to check everyone's bed, another night they changed me to the room where "a guy they already had issue with" was sleeping... The staff is pretty unfriendly and the check-in is super minimalist which might explain why guests have so little respect for the rest of the hostel. Neighbourhood is ok, the safety issue is more within the hostel than outside

Yelp
Soooooooo glad we stayed here. I was under the impression that this place would be "okay" and somewhat decent at best. However I was completely wrong! The place was clean, the staff was great (and superrrrrr helpful) and the other guests were friendly and kind. Great place to stay; highly recommend! PLUS, the fact that it's literally right in front of the train station (Frankfurt HBF) was the cherry on top!

Yelp
During the first of my two night stay, I was sexually assaulted by one of the receptionists after being offered multiple alcoholic beverages (none of which I consumed) and pressured to leave the hostel with them and some of their friends (all of whom are associated with the business to a certain extent). I understand this may not seem like the most trustworthy statement, but I simply do not feel comfortable sharing details on such a public forum. I also understand that definitions of consent vary widely between people and cultures, but what happened that night was absolutely nonconsensual (by the Planned Parenthood FRIES model, as well as my own standards), and the direct result of manipulative and coercive behavior perpetrated by hostel staff. I made it exceedingly clear what I was comfortable doing with them, and where I was comfortable going. They did not listen, and pressured me until I eventually ceded to their persuasion. I was in a vulnerable position, and they took advantage of that even after I made it clear I was tired and uncomfortable. After the fact, a friend of the abuser (and longtime resident of the hostel) approached me in the computer lounge to berate me for leaving their friend unceremoniously the night before. The accommodations were fine, but that doesn't really matter when I felt too scared to attend the free pasta dinner or "alternative tour" of the city, or even sit in the computer lounge minding my own business. My hopes in posting this are to hopefully prevent others from experiencing what happened to me, and I sincerely hope all people, especially solo-traveling women and non-men, stays safe and do not repeat my mistakes, nor face the same manipulative behavior I fell to. Take care, everybody.
