Frankie's Restaurant and Bar

After going into another restaurant that was actually closed we stumbled upon Frankie's. Being a bit of the off season and mid week it was quiet in here and pleasantly surprised. Portions were huge and absolutely delicious. Pulled pork mac and cheese and brisket were spot on for flavor. Service was fun. I'm pretty sure I could have talked to our server awhile longer. 🤣 Definitely worth the price of the meal. I'm happy we found this place!

Visited a couple weeks ago for lunch, was not disappointed. There was only one person working up front and he was super friendly and attentive. The food was very quick to arrive and super tasty. I got the pulled pork Mac n cheese, maybe it's not for everyone, but I found it so good I could have had two! The ONLY thing that was even remotely negative (which wasn't even really that negative) was the music was really, really loud. Caveat to that, it was at least good music 😅 But, I can of course see people complaining about that because people need things to complain about. All in all, we would/will definitely go back.

We arrived before 6pm midweek and there was plenty of space. There, we found prompt and cheerful service, great music playing, the food arrived quickly and it was really good quality. We ordered the brisket and the pulled pork burger and both were excellent - the brisket was tender and the burger was so tasty. The fries were great too. We also sampled their lemon meringue pie. By the time we finished, there was a queue out the door for tables - worth the wait in my opinion. Great restaurant!

We had a negative experience at this restaurant. We came in asking for a party of 6 for dinner. We waited maybe 25 minutes for a table. Usually restaurants will notify you in advance if they plan to seat you outside or would ask you first if that’s okay to be seated outside. (Considering it was very chilly in Ucluelet that day) We waited 25 minutes only to find out she was going to seat us outside. If we knew, we probably wouldn’t eat there. They had heaters but apparently weren’t working. Only one worked and it was used on the other side of the outdoor seating. It was very cold and the food took over 1 hour to arrive. We waited almost 1.5 hours. So we were sitting in the cold just waiting for our food for that long. After waiting 30 minutes after ordering the food, the waitress came to notify us that the food is not gonna take just 15 minutes and that she just wanted to let us know so we are on the same page. We said okay but it would have been nice if she gave us a heads up food will take roughly an hour before seating us!! Never did she mention at all that it would take over an hour. Not only that but the food was very mediocre. I got the seafood linguine for 41$ or 43$? The pasta didn’t taste horrible but it’s something I can make at home or a very very most simple pasta restaurant can make for half the price or less. There were only shrimp and fish inside too. For this price, I can get a very fancy pasta in Downtown vancouver or even fine dine. There weren’t even any better seafood inside. Overall, it was just not worth it. The food and experience both were meh. If food is gonna take 1 hour, we should definitely be notified before even getting seated. Common courtesy.

Fun little eatery at a great location and perfect music (don't underestimate that part). We had a nice bite and spicy Caesar before our whale watching trip. The panko crusted cod was so good!

From out of town and was looking for a place to have a bite aside from the resort restaurants. Walked into Frankie's and was welcomed right away. Our server mentioned that Frankie had just grounded the meat for the the ribeye burger. We were sold. It was the best burger I've had in a long time. The portions were huge, I couldn't finish it in 1 sitting. Hats off to Frankie and the the staff for the great food and atmosphere!!

We were looking for a place to eat and rest with the dogs, so glad we found this place! Cute little place with a great patio. They had water bowls for our dogs, amazing friendly service and the food was 10/10 good.

We loved Frankie's so much that we visited 3 times during our honeymoon! Not only was the food the best restaurant food we've EVER had, but the service was top notch. If you get a chance to meet Frankie, which you probably will, he is elbows deep in the service. He would pop out of the kitchen to serve food, clear tables, ask how you're doing, and overall add to the experience. First day we got: Cheeseburger Seafood linguine Second day: Cod and chips (drool worthy! We knew we had to come back when we saw everyone order this the first day AND saw Frankie grabbing beer from the bar for the fresh beer batter) Spicy bourbon chicken wings (ordered these after we saw someone else order them) Third day: Tuna burger (beautiful, check the pictures for the close up) Cod and chips, again ;) Bacon wrapped scallops Ordered to take home for dinner: Pulled pork Mac and cheese Habanero chicken wings Every item that came out of the kitchen was a beautiful, perfectly executed plate. Don't sleep on the coleslaw, it's divine! Oh, and try the margaritas!

Excellent. Swooped in for a quick take-out meal after checking into our hotel. They had our food boxed and ready in 15 minutes! The pulled pork was perfect. Loved the mustard BBQ sauce.. The seafood pasta was a 10/10. Nicely done.

Solid 4! Very nice staff and very good food. The drinks looked great. I was the DD and had to drive back to the east side of the island. The guy behind the back cooking is a real character and funny. Tip: stay on the west side of island if possible as the mountain pass has extensive delays at night due to construction (this will be completed sometime in 2022).

Great food - I had the pulled pork, but somewhat understaffed. Sign of the times I guess.

Amazing food. So good. Great service too. Highly recommend. I had the mussels and my partner had the chicken wings and fries and we were both so impressed.

This was formerly called Hanks, but has recently been re-named. Once again we turned to Yelp to guide us to somewhere new for supper and we ended up here. What an excellent choice! The service was friendly and the place was nice and clean. The food was amazing, I had the Pork Hock special, Colleen had the ribs. The mashed potatoes and veggies were delicious and the BBQ didn't disappoint. A gathering of locals at the dining bar was proof positive that this isn't a one time spot to dine (you go there once never to return), but a place that will always bring you back. Thanks for a great meal Frankie and staff, we'll be back!!

We ate here twice. The first night it was ok. It was better than ok because we came back two nights later. Tonight, the food and service was even better. But, a slightly weird thing happened. Just as we finished eating, we caught whiff of cigar smoke. Not a pleasant smell for us. I turn to look at who was stinking up the deck and it was this little man, wearing gold chains. We put it together that this must be the Frankie that the restaurant is named after. I was surprised by the cigar and gold chains and felt they were way out of place in Ucluelet. A weird appearance by someone needing the attention of others and fouling up the air while they ate was the way he needed to do it. I was just glad that we were done by the time he appeared.

Food was great, tasty beers. Service was very slow but they gave us a complimentary dish to compensate for that

$26 for a burger with fries is a complete ripoff feel sorry for the community of Ucluelet having to pay such high a price for food that should cost half that price. When i picked up my food frankie was vulgar with customers in front of me which i found very unprofessional. Will never return to this place.

Delicious! Poutine draped with tender brisket, flavorful mushroom gravy, and cheese curds was to die for. The local house green salad was a spectacular assortment of local greens and vegetables (needed something healthy to counter the decadence of the poutine). Also enjoyed the half smoked chicken. Food was fresh, high quality and full of great flavors. A treat to find Frankie's during out visit.

Wow great food awesome service.Prices are fair. Nice area eat in or out. We'll definitely come back here again!

Food was delicious. Ordered food for pick up and it was ready in 15 minutes. Ordered Brisket BBQ, pulled pork poutine and Seafood pasta. Every single dish was delicious. I'd recommend this to friends and I'd definitely come back when I come visit Ucluelet again.
