Francesco's might be overlooked if you are seldom in the area like myself. Locals know Francesco's worth and now I do. It's not much to look at when you pass by but you need to sit down and try the goods. The business's name may be a bit misleading because it's not really Francesco's and it's not just pizza.
We met the affable owner Georgio, and he gave us a bit of history about the restaurant. Francesco has not owned it in 35 years. Georgio kept the name and took over the restaurant in 1983. To be in business that long is a testament to his love of food and commitment to the business. In addition if you are looking to pick up a little Italian, speak to him, he's not shy.
Kelly our waitress was great. When she wasn't waiting on us she was tidying up, cleaning the windows, etc. Her service was excellent. We split the ample appy portion of the eggplant lasagna which was made with no pasta. Fantastic!
I ordered a medium sausage pizza which would be a large in most other places. I could only finish half. You won't find any wood fired or thin crust pizzas here, just the old traditional kind you'd find 50 years ago. It was terrific.
Plenty of other things to try on the menu and daily specials as well. Very reasonably priced, friendly atmosphere, and BYOB. Salut!!
