We visited the Franschhoek Wine Tram during our honeymoon and enjoyed it so much that we decided to do it twice! We did the Pink Line on the first day and the Blue Line on the second. Both were amazing and offered a great mix of wineries - some accessible by tram and others by bus.
The tram estates are definitely the most popular, but we’d really recommend making time for the bus route too. There are some real hidden gems along the way - for example, on the Pink Line bus route we stopped at Pigcasso, where you can see art painted by a pig and even feed some of the animals!
Across both days we met Bati, who told us he was in training. Bati was absolutely wonderful - so friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in our experience. Each time we hopped on the bus, he checked in with us, offered great recommendations, and even suggested we visit the Franschhoek Monument, which we hadn’t heard of before. We’re so glad we went - it was a lovely spot and a great tip!
We really wish Bati all the best with his training - he’s already a treasure to the team.
The entire operation is so well run. Both the trams and buses were perfectly on time, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional. We can’t fault a thing! If you’re ever in the area, we highly recommend doing the Franschhoek Wine Tram - it’s such a fun and memorable way to explore the vineyards.
