A wonderful and atmospheric spot in the center of Bolzano. We really appreciated that they accept reservations. The menu leans a bit toward the Italian side, but also features seasonal dishes with chanterelles and South Tyrolean specialties. The chanterelle risotto was outstanding — truly a highlight of the evening. Service was warm and personal, and the wine list is excellent, with staff giving thoughtful recommendations. We loved the evening atmosphere: as it got dark, the cozy outdoor seating with warm light felt magical.

We had lunch here. Great local restaurant with nice atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside if the weather is ok. They serve Italian and Austrian food and both were pretty good. The service was friendly and ok. They have a few day specialties, ask about them before you order!

I had to convince my family to wait with dinner till 18:30 (when they open), but it was totally worth it. We were probably the only customers for like half an hour. For that reason the service was really fast. I had the filled pasta with a butter sauce. Despite the interesting looks It was perfectly cooked and delicious!! My family was also really positive about the salmon.

Stopped by for lunch while wondering around downtown Bolzano based on reviews. Did not disappoint. Great service. Delicious food and big portions at a fair price. Seems like they’ve been around for a while. I’d strongly recommend them if you’re looking for a good restaurant to eat!

Was craving a wiener schnitzel as my final meal in Bolzano before leaving (after a long two week business trip). This place turned up on several reviews and I must say it did not disappoint. Food was very good and I would come back. Service was rather slow though, but they were having a busy night with a huge entourage of American tourists.

The restaurant is located along a narrow alleyway which added to the charm. The staff were friendly, and the service was quick. The food was not mind blowing, but it was filling. I had the spinach and cheese ravioli.

Food was typical südtyrolish (gulash and schnitzell), very honest balance between price and quantity/quality. Personally not fan of these heavy meals but if you have to try, try here, they do it typically. A lot of Italian tourists, quick and nice service and the most important trump up the sleeve, it is open on Sundays !

The schnitzel was very very good. The bread as well. Same with the ragu. The salad was good. Reason why I wouldn’t give it 5 stars is the service. They forgot one of our orders (party of 3) and they recognized the mistake and it still took another 15 minutes before the plate arrived. We were done with our meal completely. The recommended wine was very poor tasting and it was a light pour. Beautiful patio to dine in.

Yelp
What do you get when you are in the Italian alps next to Austria? A little bit of German and Italian. This Gastropub provided a little of both as the two countries menu collided into one. The space is charming and inviting. Reminding me of a German style restaurant with Italian Fresca art and venetian plaster. The energy in the dining room is so good, with people from all over the world dining and many languages speaking. The carefully curated wine selections from Alto Aidge, IT, a local producer provided the perfect pairings selected by our trip curator. The dinner was chosen for us starting with a salad that was shredded and extremely good. Exotic breads provided to soak up the table olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Then you moved onto the pasta veggie dish which had incredible flavoring in the sauce. Headed for the final course, was the buffalo meat. The chef Exquisitely executed a finale with an incredible citrus desert full of peaches. Service by Maria and her team was phenomenal. I highly recommend stopping at this restaurant while in Bolanzo.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the meal, staff, and overall vibe of this eatery. Everyone was very kind when helping me navigate the menu. The food is authentic Austrian and Italian. I think it's a must try for food in the area.

Yelp
We decided to leave the mountains and visit the largest city in the Sud Tyrol. Bolzano (Bozen) is known to be one of the nicest (and cleanest) city in Italy. We picked a Saturday which was extra special since all of the piazza's were filled with vendors of local produce. We had a great time visiting the vendors and purchasing the local products. For lunch we selected the FranziskanerStuben which was recommend by a number of locals. We were not disappointed. By the name, you can see that the restaurant menu would offer Austrian specialties. We loved the venue and each dish that we ordered. If you want one of the few seats outside, you will have to arrive early. Enjoy. It is one of the best in Bolzano.

Yelp
Very much enjoyed my dinner and drinks here last week. The goulash was delicious as was the other courses. They were very friendly for a woman traveling solo. Would definitely eat here again and try more of the brews!

Yelp
We stopped in Bolsano primarily to see Otzi (the Iceman) but we also wanted to try some of the Austrian influenced local cuisine. We were staying at the Goldenstern Guesthouse in the old part of town and they offered us a couple of glasses of prosecco at their associated restaurant around the corner. Checking it out we found a very nice place with lots of Austrian influenced dishes on the menu. Despite being the first guests of the night, we were warmly welcomed and provided with glasses of a nice prosecco. The menu looked great so we decided to stay for a light bite. We shared a deer carpacio appetizer. Thinly sliced raw deer with olives, mushrooms, arugula and parmesan. Delicious! The flavor of the meat really came through. We added some more wine and a couple of bowls of soup. My wife had the cream of asparagus soup. It was served with a bread stick wrapped in delicately flavored ham. The soup had a mild asparagus flavor that went perfectly with the ham. I had the lentil soup which was flavored with rosemary and came with matchsticks of a salty and smokey bacon that really complemented the soup. Lentil soup is sometimes a little grainy, but this was perfectly smooth and very pleasant to eat. It was so good that I couldn't resist mopping up the bowl with bread. We'd been eating our way through Italy and needed a light dinner so we didn't try any more of their dishes, but from what we had, and what I saw delivered to others around us, I'd definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in Bolsano.
