Franzos Café was, without exaggeration, the worst experience I’ve ever had. This place honestly should shut down. The staff doesn’t even acknowledge you when you walk in—no greeting, no welcome, not even eye contact. And when they finally do, it’s with a rude and dismissive attitude.
On top of that, when you’re ready to pay they look at you badly because you “don’t have a reservation.” A reservation for what? It’s ridiculous. I came to have a coffee and something to eat—I’m not asking for a table at Buckingham Palace. The worst part is that there were empty tables, the people with the so-called reservations never even showed up, and yet they still treat you like they’re doing you a favor.
I’ve visited hundreds of coffee shops in many countries, but this was by far the worst I’ve seen in Zurich—and honestly anywhere. The food was awful and poorly made, the coffee was undrinkable (we couldn’t even finish it), and the service was even worse.
Don’t come here. I do not recommend it and I will never recommend it, because it would be disrespectful. Go to the place next door instead—there are much better options and they treat you like a human being.
