Stopped by Franzos for breakfast, and it was a great start to the day! ☀️ Had my first hot coffee in Zurich here, and it was excellent. The food was delicious, and the croissant was perfectly flaky and buttery. On top of that, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend!! 🙂

This is a fantastic location to enjoy a lovely breakfast, brunch or coffee. Such a wonderful location easily accessible by walking or train. We enjoyed the bacon, eggs and freshly baked buttery croissant that literally melted in my mouth. The vanilla latte was wonderful. I love that the menu was small making it quick and easy to make a delicious decision from the wonderful choices. You have the option of enjoying a sparkling mimosa, cocktail coffee or a delicious espresso drink. It was quite popular on a Saturday morning and I highly recommend you make a reservation. The environment was quaint and cozy. Very happy we decided to enjoy a family brunch here. Would happily return again and highly recommend this establishment.

Small cafe near central - they have two parts (one of which makes crepes). The food is good, the tarte tatin is amazing! It is rather on the crowded side, which makes it a lively place for brunch on Sunday. Staff is stretched at peak times, but things do not usually get too slow.

Came across this place for breakfast (not in our itinerary) as it’s nearby the hotel we were staying. Firstly, it’s very pricey for a breakfast café. A plain scrambled egg costs CHF13. Just when I thought there must be something special about the scrambled egg, it’s literally just eggs. Plain scrambled eggs. Added extra CHF3 for bacons. The size of their pain au chocolates were bigger than usual. Coffee was just as usual, nothing special. Service was okay, nothing exceptional. Gave it a 3-stars rating because of the pricing-value mismatch.

Google
Delicious galettes and coq au vins, conveniently located, and very nice service. They were full when we first arrived and we were ok with sitting outside, but when a few people left and there was a lot of smoking outdoors we asked to be moved inside - they were happy to accommodate! I got the complète royale and the ham, cheese, and caramelized onions were delicious! My partner got the coq au vins and the chicken was very tender with a strong red wine sauce. Their chocolat chaud was also rich and went great with the whipped cream. Highly recommend dining here, just beware they can get very busy!

A cafe like in the movies. The music inside is great. We were very pleased with everything, thank you.

Food quality is pretty standard for a cafe. The only few cafe/coffee place that opens early. Ordered Chai Latte and felt that it can be stronge. Overall is a place to check out in the morning if you are around the area.

As an American from the US, I am so glad my first restaurant experience in Switzerland was here. It began to snow and I couldn't wander and explore so I stumbled into this little gem where it was nice & cozy hoping for a warm cup of coffee. I actually had 2! I ended up ordering a Complete Crepe made with local buckwheat flour, cheese, ham and egg. The last bite being as satisfying as the first. The snow came down thick, soothing jazz music, creative aromas of sizzling crepes filled the air and absolutely amazing staff. Zinedine was busy working both sides but he never forgot my order in all the crowds. Celine crafted delicious crepes with artistic diligence and they both offered me intelligent conversation. Franzos Coffee Shop could have plucked my experience from a Christmas commercial because this was the best representation of Switzerland hospitality. Bar none! Superior! Bravo! Mercí!

Super elegant with a Parisian flair ,there are pictures of Coco Chanel ,Gainsbourg ,Edith Piaf on the wall ,it's super clean ,servers are super friendly and professional & I loved the fruit yogurt I had there twice . Oh and the coffee was amazing too . the view from there is amazing ,you see all of Limmatquai from there . Highly recommendEd.

Yelp
Excellent coffee with friendly multi-lingual service (including English). I have to ask though about one particular seat: who is the daredevil that would sit in that table above the stairs down?

Nikos S.

Yelp
Rude Poor service - seating at tables for dinner seems to be impossible here ! I asked to be seated at an empty 2-seat table to which the server responded that they would lose money if I did.

Yelp
We just stopped in off of the street. A very crowded place but we soon realized why. The food was simple and very fresh. I got the simple breakfast which came with a croissant and four slices of fabulous bread, honey butter and rustic jam. I'd definitely return

Yelp
Franzos is a charming Cafe right on the river and next to ETH Zurich. Staff was kind and accommodating to me only speaking English. I ordered the Croque, which was very tasty and used excellent cheese. The atmosphere was lively and was a mix of students, locals, and travelers. I would recommend Franzos to anyone staying in Zurich short- or long-term!

Yelp
Wonderful meal in Zurich. Even though it is in Switzerland, it is wonderfully French so delicious. All 5 of us had different dishes and they were all delightful!

Yelp
We moved to Zurich yesterday, and I immediately spotted this cute place! Drinks and food were very delicious! It a place you can enjoy best sunset drinks I think

Yelp
BEWARE!!! I threw up AND got SICK when I ate a croissant there, this place should be shut down for health and safety. When I came back from the restroom I complained to the owner he was RUDE and dismissive of my complaint. I left with a sore stomach, up to you !!!NEVER AGAIN!!!

Yelp
Opened very recently, small cosy french café (Franzos = French). The staff is friendly and their coffee is very good. The terrace on the street is next to Central and overlooks the Limmat. I would say it's the best pick among the coffees near Central. I will be back again.

Yelp
Oh I love Franzos! It's just a great spot all day long. Enjoy an early breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon treat or a glass of wine / cocktail accompanied with a cheese platter. Quite reasonable prices for Zurich. My suggestion: The mint tea! ah and not to forget: Staff is top notch!

Yelp
On a very hot summers day I really enjoyed the crepe with ham, cheese and egg. Perfectly cooked with a generous salad, mix of lettuces, leaves etc. My companion had the goats cheese on toast with salad and was very impressed with that. Iced coffee was just right too. Staff very pleasant and spoke English. Zurich prices a bit of a shock to Australians, this place is reasonable on that score.

Yelp
A cute place with delicious pastry. Very French, including inattentive (but nice) service.

Yelp
Wonderful, dense mushroom soup enjoyed today with a lovely, fresh salad! Friendly, comfortable place.
