Frati restaurant

Great place with a nice atmosphere. It was quite crowded and busy when we visited, as it was peak Christmas party season and the restaurant was completely packed – so not unexpected. I can highly recommend the Bistecca Americana – the beef was incredibly tender, and the sides were generous and well-portioned. Definitely great value for the money. We practically “rolled” happily out the door afterwards! Would absolutely visit again.

Very nice decoration and vibes with Italian pizza aromatics, Had three course meals very nice haddock starters, average slow cooked roasted lamb as main dish and good panna cotta dessert

Quick service, fantastic food, and even better servers. Specifically, an Italian/Brazilian named Pedro. He was extremely knowledgeable about the food, beer and wine, and absolutely hilarious. He made our experience here 10x better. Thank you Pedro, and great work kitchen!

Great place for Italian food. Huge servings at good price with a good selection of dishes. Fantastic service although the atmosphere is a little louder due to the crowd. Expect a little wait (or get a reservation) during peak hours. Staff was kind enough to shift us from high tables to an open table. Home made bread was quickly served up for starters. Pizza was hot and fresh out of the gas fired oven. Pasta sauces were rich and aromatic with well cooked pasta. Plenty of juicy, tasty mussels with the frutti Di mare. Roasted chicken was soft and not dry, paired with a fantastic sauce. Fried calamari was a little on the salty side. Side note: Pedro was an absolute gem, serving up a great time!

No waiting, service in top level, nice people, atmosphere just relaxing, cozy and rustic. Food was just as good as all the other things. Thank you for your advice and recomendation. We was booking a table for Salmar AS, from Matfestivalen. We was having Rana, ravioli and pizza, all was amazing. Must try the cocktails too!

Amazing experience! Very welcoming staff, great atmosphere and nice food! My pasta was a bit dry for my taste, but overall very good Italian restaurant. I would recommend it for a dinner with colleagues, meeting with friends or a romantic date. This place has a charming interior and candlelight in the evening. Also, there is a bar downstairs + guest WI-FI.

Upscale Italian restaurant in the heart of town. Found this gem on a recommendation from our hotel. We were not disappointed. We ordered steak, chicken panzerotti, a pasta dish and a seafood option. All the choices were top notch. The restaurant was very busy for a Wednesday night. Large bar and multiple seating areas ranging from intimate to large group tables. There was a large wine list and a herb garden. Would highly recommend.

I stopped in for a light lunch and a glass of wine. It's a beautiful place and the stove making pizzas when you walk in reminds you of a slice of Italy. I got the bruschetta and frittata; the tomatoes were super fresh and the prosciutto had this nice salty finish to bring it together. The salad on the side really rounded out the meal. Yes, it sounds like a dainty lunch and I'm kind of a manly man but sometimes you want a light refreshing lunch so you can get back out on the streets and do manly things like wrestle lions. I'm going off track here and I'm starting to get hungry just thinking about it, but bottom line, go have the pasta, have your date get the pizza and hopefully she saves you a bite, and enjoy the clean and modern atmosphere. I was really happy with my overall experience at Frati. I ordered a pizza, that was fresh, authentic and very tasty which I was so happy with. The restaurant had a great ambiance and was a great place to grab a meal after a long day in Trondheim! As well, for Norwegian standard, the food was priced very well- great value for the quality of food. Would recommend!

What a lovely place! Usually quite busy so If you're planning to go on a weekend I'd recommend booking a table in advance. And it's well worth it! They have their own little brewery with a good selection of beers. Both their pasta dishes and pizzas are really good but I personally think they do their pasta the best, which they make fresh at the restaurant. I would recommend this place to anyone that likes Italian, and it's one of my favorite places to eat in Trondheim.
