Frauenkirche, Dresden – Review
The Frauenkirche is one of Dresden’s most impressive landmarks, and climbing up to the dome is absolutely worth it. The views from the top are truly breathtaking and give you a unique perspective of the city.
The entry fee to access the dome is €10. The walk up is generally manageable and not very difficult, but it does get a bit challenging near the top. Expect a steep incline and narrow iron steps, especially in the final stretch.
Once at the top, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of Altmarkt and Neumarkt, both of which look especially beautiful during market season. If you time your visit well, you can capture spectacular photos of the Christmas markets, as the dome is open until 4 pm.
From the dome, you can also spot the Augustus Market across the canal, adding to the charm of the view. Overall, the Frauenkirche dome climb is a must-do in Dresden—historic, slightly adventurous, and incredibly rewarding.
