Man this is the hidden gem in Upstate NY. I played Sagamore the week before and it was awesome but Frear Park was every bit as good. The price of 57 on the weekend was great. The greens were excellent. Not easy to putt with the speed and slope but pool table smooth. Can’t say enough about this course.

Came here with my partner and his friend. Him and his friend are pretty good, I’m still pretty beginner. First off we get there and they don’t know which 9 we are playing. Second one of the wardens like we’re trying to tell us to go to 12 and finish then go back to 10 and 11. Then he followed us for the first hole. Both the guys went and then it was my turn. I did a couple practice swings and then the warden was like you have to hit. I’ve never hit a drive so it was terrible. I was pretty upset and barely played. The guy was just a dick. Micromanaging everyone. The three of us payed over 100 and the people behind us were slower than us but yet we were rushed. We then had an issue with another group on the course who were just like crazy. Just weird people on this course and the one worker having weird issues.

One of my favorite places to just sit and enjoy the view, a lot of wonderful people passing by the spot that I sit and watch the people playing through the golf course. The ninth hole is the best spot in my opinion to be, you can see for quite a distance. As a person with a disability I am able to safely travel up to the ninth hole on my mobility scooter while not bothering the golfers. A beautiful gift to the public!

Great course. Wet day, but the course held up great. Challenging for an amateur, but fun to play. Holes were placed in challenging spots on the greens, but that added to the game. Terrain features were great. Definitely recommend.

I am writing this review as a winter user, not summer. We came here to snowshoe and it was a perfect place for that. There is plenty of open space and places to explore. While we were out walking, we saw many different areas for sledding as well. There were a few people in different areas but I feel like you could have a hill all to your own just by looking around a little.

Our first time here and wow, what an amazing course. Let me state that I am a total beginner, but I loved it here, and I did not feel pushed my other golfers

Shame on Frear. We have come to this course over the years and today was such a disappointment. We came to play golf with people who do not play too often. Apparently you have to be a pga professional to play here or you get kicked out. We came right up to a green and someone just left, but we are holding too many people up. What a joke.
