"Haberdashery, modelling, books; gifts… welcome to the crafty emporium that is Fred Aldous. Famous to creatives far and wide, this establishment is an absolute must see for everyone. High, low, left and right, this tardis like store has something for every possible need and is an absolute joy to have a look round whether you need something or not. It’s one of those rare spaces that lift you soul, put a spring in your step and guarantee to put smile on your face. Head over with some mates and mess around in the photo booths, book onto a course you have also wanted to do but never thought existed or hide away downstairs and fantasize about that AirFix set which you still wonder if you are too old for (you’re not!)." - The Neighbourhood

Wow what a fabulous store! Very tidy and so much to choose from! The staff were really friendly and helpful! You could spend hours looking in this store it's jam packed with so many helpful craft things to choose from, it's very centrally located in Manchester, not the best area to park but there are lots of places to park :) and so many great places to eat locally :) no disabled access to the downstairs of the store, but it it's a very old building so I guess that's difficult to implement, genuinely a really good find I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for crafts and funk gifts

Such a colourful and fantastic place! They've got all sorts of arts and craft supplies, crocheting kits for all levels, items from different local artists, and everything in between spread over 3 floors! 💳 Cards accepted ♿ Currently, there are only staircases connecting the three floors but the owner is actively negotiating to have a lift installed to make the place as accessible as possible. Highly recommend!

I'm an Aussie and this is a knife. Seriously Fred Aldous is a crafty persons dream. Such a large selection for just about every craft you can think of. Much of the bespoke products is made in house. The shop is spread over several floors. Unfortunately it's not accessible but the staff will be happy to bring you anything you need from the lower floors.

A huge art and craft store. With three floors of art and craft supplies. They also screen printing services. Staff were very helpful and courteous. A must visit place for your art and craft needs!

Such a cool place! Three huge floors of craft supplies, stationary, and everything arts supplies. The people there are really nice and helpful. It's been around since 1886 and passed through the family... Still a family run operated business today! No wheelchair ♿ accessibility to the basement floors. It is a very old building. But I heard they're trying to install a lift soon. There are many stairs... But the ground floor you should be able to get into. Although there is a step, I think they have a ramp they can bring over to assist if you just ask.

Great shop full to the brim with stationary, art supplies and crafting materials. From the outside it looks like a standard size shop until you go inside and explore downstairs. There is so much to look at and can't imagine going in there and not coming out with something quirky and cool and wanting to create something! Definitely check it out if you are in the area!

If you are a lover of pens, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE! My whole paycheque, gone in the blink of a single tap purchase because I found a plethora of quality pens that i have never seen in Montreal. Tons of trinkets by local artisans and other interesting items for people of all ages. Highly recommend
