Colocated with the Bright Angle Lodge w. It's a OK restaurant for small meals, but don't expect great quality. Our steelhead trout was OK, but the side rice was very hard. Service was generally good.

Google
We really liked it. The atmosphere was awesome. Definitely is a bit expensive but that’s what you get for a resort area. We enjoyed the food and our service was quite friendly.

Google
Great space! The Manager (I can’t remember his name) is super friendly and is very informative about the canyon. The food was delicious- especially the fries!! Everything is decently priced. They have TVs as well if you’re looking to watch a sports game.

Google
We dined at the Harvey House Tavern Thanksgiving weekend 2025. Though they were very busy and somewhat short on serving assistants we had a great meal. 5 stars to server Patricia who was the only person besides the bartender taking care of the whole dining room. A bus person would have made things run much smoother for her and her customers. Hope Xanterra recognizes Patricia's hard work.

Google
We went there 2 nights in a row and got the vegan wet burrito which was great! We also got some beers & cherry flavored old fashioned. Our server was great- super sweet lady who was managing so many tables all by herself. The bartender was great too and we made a few friends hanging at the bar. Def going back next time!

Google
Got sat and had multiple people coming to take our orders so it was pretty quick to get drinks. They were busy so food took a while. I wish I had something good to say. It was just meh. After a long hike it was nice to get some protein and the chicken was at least moist but had no flavor. Prime rib sandwich also had no flavor even the au jus didn’t add anything and left the bun super soggy. It’s first come first serve.my son enjoyed his chicken sandwich.

Google
Food is good - I had spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs - and it was actually good (even for me as an 🇮🇹an). My family had burgers and they were also good. Service was friendly.

Google
Me and my wife ate at the Fred Harvey Tavern on our arrival to the Kachina hotel. I ordered the Ultimate Bison burger which was huge and absolutely divine. My wife got the cheesy tortilla chips which was also a large portion with loads of cheesy chilli sauce. Service was very fast and friendly.

Yelp
Service was very friendly. They did their best to try to help me figure out what i could eat. Being gluten free and vegan there were not a ton of options. Breakfast was definitely more complicated. They did have the beyond meat or impossible breakfast sausages. So I was able to get that and some fruit. When we came in for "linner" (lunch/dinner) - i was able to get a salad with a beyond burger on it. It was good and hit the spot after hiking rim to rim. Limited choices but was able to find a few things. My friends who dont have dietary restrictions thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised at our food and experience at Fred Harvey Tavern. We enjoyed the Cheeseburger, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Quesadilla and a burger with the gluten free bun. It was all very solid. A little pricey, but it was very satisfying!

Yelp
Good quality. I had a chicken club. The chicken was dry and rubbery. Obviously microwaved to reheat it. The fries were obviously made a long time ago. My husband had the vegan burrito which was Rice a Roni tasting and the burrito was not wort finishing. Poor quality with high price for the disappointment of the food. The service was excellent.

Yelp
Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - sad to say but the burger was the worst item we had 5/5 - Black Bean Soup was very flavorful and salty but enjoyable with the cold weather outside. We would have enjoyed a bigger portion but it felt like we finished it within ten bites. 4/5 - Tater Tot Nachos was a generous serving! Lots of tots smothered in cheese and pico de gallo. Overall was salty as well... even the guacamole was salty 2/5 - Fred Harvey Burger did not have the smokehouse aioli on it and the bread was sort of stale and not heated. For a burger place, the specialty burger was really sad and dry Ambience: 5/5 - rustic feel. While it was around 35 degrees outside, it was very warm inside and the windows were doubled so it seemed very well insulated. Warm and cozy lighting with high ceilings. Fairly quiet so you can enjoy conversation with your party Service: 5/5 - server was friendly and attentive. Didn't rush us as we took our time to enjoy the meal and followed up to ensure we had everything we needed. They were unable to cut the burger in half for us based on our request Value for price: 3/5 - the food was about the same as the Maswik Food Court but more expensive

Yelp
This was the last place I ate in the Grand Canyon before returning and you know it was pretty good. If Maswik is like the fast food end of the dining spectrum and El Tovar is on the fancier end of the spectrum then Fred Harvey falls squarely in the middle; consider it like the Applebee's of dining options at the South Rim. The wait for FH was so long for lunch/dinner when I went but breakfast was...well it was also long but since I had a few hours to wait for the train to arrive and the trail conditions so bad I didn't feel like continuing any hikes. We still managed to get seated fairly quickly so I got to try eat off the breakfast menu. They had something called breakfast nachos and that seemed interesting. What I ended up getting was ok. It looked like it was put together without any care or attention. It was a couple of pieces of fry bread and then someone basically just dropped a scoop of pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole and then just haphazardly splattered nacho cheese, eggs and some let's say not so appetizing looking sausage. It was definitely something that was ugly delicious though, between that and our server who was friendly and attentive bumps it up a star.

Yelp
This has a new name... Harvey Cafe or something like that, very confusing place to find, stumbled on it by accident. Not sure why it's so poorly rated... our server was friendly, the service was quick, and the food was good. Hubs had a chicken sandwich and fries. I had the Turkey bacon wrap and fries. The wrap was well assembled... excellent ratio of turkey to bacon to cheese. Stop by, I can't see how you'll be unhappy.
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
This used to be the Fred Harvey Burger & Tavern but looks like the name was recently changed to Fred Harvey Tavern. The ambience is definitely more of a tavern or bar feel so I can see the reason for the name change. It's more of a bar with some food instead of a restaurant with a bar menu. The wait staff are friendly and the bartender we had was a lot of fun. He even made one of his off-menu drinks which was delicious. The drinks are far better than the food. The food was typical American bar food. Nothing unique or special about it. We each had the double bacon cheeseburger and chips and queso as an appetizer. The fries were fairly good. We originally wanted to try the American Steakhouse but had to have reservations in advance. There's limited dining options at the Grand Canyon park so we might eat here again if we come back one day but we will also try to make reservations for some of the restaurants as well!

Yelp
As of July 2023 there are specifically marked vegetarian and vegan options. Note that they have a "plant based" menu section that actually has vegetarian items in it. Also, some vegetarian items cannot be made vegan. For instance the tamale has cheese INSIDE not just on top and therefore cannot be made vegan. Huge bonus points for a kids menu with a vegan option - noodles with marinara.

Yelp
This is a nice sit-down restaurant to get away from the touristy crowds, hot temperatures, and/or the high winds. Far better than just getting your lunch at a grab-and-go spot. The menu is a standard diner-like restaurant. Pricing is on the high side, but you're paying tourist pricing in a National Park. The burgers are good, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich is horribly dry. The french fries are well-seasoned and double-fried. The entrees are also well-made and delicious. The half-roasted chicken is of exceptional quality. The service felt a bit hit or miss. The wait staff seemed inexperienced with a few chatting in the corners and with their attention on each other and not on patrons, though we did get our food quickly.

Alisa G.

Yelp
This place isn't even trying. Ordered a BLT. Turkey looked like they took it out of package of prepacked deli meat. Bacon was limp. Served on ciabatta...which is just odd. Fries were decent but we got the bottom of the basket and all the fries were small/pieces. My friend ordered the burger. Can't go wrong ordering a burger at a place called Fred Harvey Burger right? Wrong. Burgers are ONLY cooked medium well. There is no other option. Burgers came out overdone...charcoal like...and the bun was stale / hard / inedible in parts. Side salad was good. Waiter was nice. Menu now has 4 entree items. He said up until yesterday there was only 1 choice (burger). Overall food was subpar and overpriced. We waited 45 minutes for a table. Buy a prepackaged sandwich at the gift shop instead and save yourself time and money!

Yelp
This restaurant is located inside another business, the Angel Lodge. The bar was okay. I tried the Irish cream. It was my first time having this drink. It looked good. It tasted good. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant looked nice. I had the Tator Tots Nachos tasted good. They had bacon something a little spicy and a cheese sauce. I enjoyed them. The Fish and Chips were okay. The fries soggie and not seasoned at all. The fish had a good crunch. The beer batter was good. I could taste the beer. That was interesting, good. The house Tatar sauce was good. The waitress was very friendly and nice. The price was fair. The portions large. The food hit the spot after the long hike.

Yelp
. Kiki was a great waitress. The Toto nachos where too spicy for my wife. They immediately took it back. No problems. The burger I got was pretty good. I asked for extra tomatoes no problem. I asked for sauce on the side no problem. Service was priory fast. Service was very good. I found this place was the place to eat. Quick service. Good service. Friendly waitress (Kiki). Willing to do substitutes. At the Grand Canyon this is the place to eat. Specially if you are on the train. If I come back to the Grand Canyon I would be here again. And I would ask for one hour Kiki's tables.

Yelp
We were seated at the cocktail bar after about a 40 minute wait on a Thursday at 4. The bartender/server was really great. Our sandwiches came with side salads that came out within a minute of being ordered and everything else shortly behind which was appreciated since we were starving. The teriyaki tofu bowl was my favorite- it came with veggies and quinoa. The dressing was really good and salty- tasted so good after a long day of hiking. The chicken Cesar wrap and turkey sandwich were good but not great- a little bland. I wished the wrap had more Cesar dressing on it. I think the best bet is to take a shuttle from the visitor center because parking is limited, especially during lunch or dinner times.

Yelp
The menu is focused, food decent, especially the fries. Service was spotty because they were "short staffed." It's a great place for a stop and go, not relaxation and enjoyment. If you just want a meal, do it. If you want to experience of being in the canyon, not so much!
google avatar

Richard K.

Yelp
Food choices at the Grand Canyon are limited. Most, if not all restaurants are run by the same corporation, which was originally started by Fred Harvey. Google his name for an interesting story. This restaurant serves a good selection of food, which is adequately prepared, but not memorable. The prices are reasonable, and the service is the bright spot of this restaurant.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner after our big hike (S. Kaibab to Phantom Ranch to Bright Angel) and also for breakfast the next morning. Although the food is not really that great, it's the best option for those staying in Bright Angel Lodge. It's essentially a casual sit down restaurant located right off the lobby. On Saturday after our hike, there was a little bit of a wait (maybe only 10 mins) and then on Sunday morning, we were seated right away around 8a (this was in November, so not peak season). What makes me so sad about this place is that the menu has the story of Fred Harvey, who was an entrepreneur who opened up various meal houses along rest stops on the Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe line back in the late 1800's. What they specifically called out was that he did this to ensure travelers had fresh GOOD food because all of the other places had stale, rotten food they served. And now in ironies of ironies, a place that bears his name serves extremely subpar food. For instance, the bun on my cheeseburger was a tad hard. (If it were my at home, it would have been one of those buns that I forced myself to eat because I didn't want to waste it, while knowing that it was probably past its expire date.) We also ordered the cookie sundae, which I was super excited about because I love those. I assumed it would come out with a warm delicious cookie and ice cream. Well it was a cookie that obviously come out of the box and was ROCK HARD!! My boyfriend and I were laughing because you couldn't even cut into it with a fork or knife. It was that hard. Ughhh. Breakfast was definitely a better experience. Although I asked if they could make me scrambled egg whites and I was told no. I then asked for scrambled eggs and they said they could do that (which I figured they could because it was on the menu). I then asked why they couldn't do scrambled egg WHITES but they could do scrambled eggs? And was told "there's just no way for us to ring that up on the cash register." Couldn't they have just talked directly to the cook?? Ugh whatever. Anyways, come here if you must. I hate to say it, but I may even have to come here if I stay at Bright Angel Lodge in the future as well. Sometimes you're just at the mercy of the most convenient option...

Yelp
The burger was great, and my wife, who is celiac, was able to get a gluten free bun. Our bartender, Sean, was absolutely phenomenal- friendly and funny.

Yelp
All items were amazing... when we got them. Consistently ignored. Consistently talked over. Twann was a joke. Engaging in highly ILLEGAL practices of posting my card information ONLINE. Card has now been cancelled. However, I have a niece who works in the park. And guess what she sent me (see photo) If you want sh!tt¥ service with bad attitudes look no further.

Yelp
It's pretty bad you guys Plastic tasting burger, the fries were old and stale, the pork sliders were slimy

Yelp
Very good environment and friendly staff, would recommend food & desert. Got the Apple critter & spaghetti.

Yelp
Good enough for a National Park. I got the beyond burger with side salad and shared the chips and salsa. Moderately priced in comparison to other eateries in the Park. I would get there early to put your name on the list. They don't take reservations so just try to go off hours- basic only when families would be eating. Staff was nice. Nothing too bad to say.

Yelp
After hiking the Grand Canyon all day this seemed to be one of the only restaurants where there wasn't a dress code. It did the trick for some very hungry hikers, but not on the top of my list. The restaurant is attached to a lodge so you actually walk through to be seated. There's a gift shop too which I wish we had time to browse. We were seated in the dining room, I asked for a canyon view because it's amazing right?! Anyways, there was a very strong smell of smoke the entire time we were seated. I have no idea why but very off putting. Our waiter was kind and mostly attentive. Towards the end when we wanted to pay the bill we had to hunt him down. Ended up missing the sunset over the canyon outside and we had a long drive back home. We saw the sunset inside but still would have nice to see outside. We order the pulled pork sliders, chips and guacamole, and a burger. It was all pretty good - nothing out of the ordinary or exceptional. Prices are fair. Had a kilt lifter beer as well which was tasty. Overall, I wouldn't come here if I was lodging at the Grand Canyon but if you're really hungry after a hike it does the trick!
google avatar

Armida S.

Yelp
Decided we didn't want a large meal on our lunch stop so we decided to eat here. Horrible decision. I don't know what they have going on in the kitchen but we waited almost an hour (no joke) for me to finally get the attention of the manager to tell him our food hadn't come out ...mind you, all we ordered was a burger and a side of fries. He comped our meal but it took away time from seeing the Grand Canyon We live a long way from there and it was a specific trip we made to see it. I would never have picked this place had o read the reviews first.

Yelp
This restaurant is terrible all around from service, blatant prejudice, to down right deplorable, barley edible food. My husband and I went when no one else was in the dining room. They had staff just hanging around, decorating for Christmas and talking. It took them quite a while to seat us, and then another 10-15 minutes for us to have a waiter come to our table. The only person working at all was a person of color who was scrubbing out the booths. All the other staff, who were white, were chit chatting and goofing off. I bring this up, because we are a mixed race couple, and could barely get any service, let alone acknowledgement. Our assigned waiter never came over to us even though she saw us get seated. She just stayed in the back by the waitstaff computers. Eventually a different waiter came over and said they would serve us because they couldn't "find" the other waiter. This all felt off, and then while we were waiting for our foods, a few groups of white people came to be seated, and they were sat and waited on immediately. It seemed like there could be some bias /prejudice against people of color by the staff. Regarding the food, we ordered the burger. It was barely edible. They must freeze their buns and then defrost them as needed. The buns were both stale and crumbly. The burgers are precooked and reheated, so you can only get a well done burger. The fries were like cardboard. The waiter even told us they don't eat the restaurant because the food grosses them out. That should tell you everything you need to know. I would recommend completely skipping this restaurant.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Basic food at Bright Angel lodge. We were freezing so went in for a breakfast snack before lunch and to get some hot coffee. Staff needs a lot of help. Lovely gal but she was overwhelmed and we waited a very long time before even being greeted. No big deal for us. We were in no rush. She made several mistakes with our table and the final bill delaying us even further. I am forgiving since I know the drill. They handled it well. Nice manager too. However, long wait. If you are in a rush heads up and use their small to go store they have there on the rim edge. The dishes all around us looked pretty good for breakfast. We just got a bagel and coffee.
google avatar

Paris W.

Yelp
First off, this is Fred Harvey Tavern, and it's amazing. Closest thing to your neighborhood watering hole in the Grand Canyon Village. When we arrived, the host told us we were looking at a 30-35 minute wait, and he wasn't keeping a list. We were skeptical, but we waited. This guy's mind is a steel trap, and we were seated at the bar in less than 15 minutes. The bartender was Brenda from Arkansas, and she's a hoot. Genuinely hospitable, funny, and makes a mean cocktail! The house-brined cherries and muddled orange in her Old Fashioned made it crazy good. The Grand Canyon branded Merlot isn't the best you'll ever have. But, it meets muster at the price point. The Fred Harvey Burger is ridiculous. Just do it because you'll hike it off tomorrow. The tap is very respectable and these folks are fun. This is a must-do if you're anywhere near the South Rim!
google avatar

Tracie M.

Yelp
Little bar/tavern located inside Bright Angel Lodge at the Grand Canyon. Had just finished doing a strenuous hike, famished. Appetizer was tater tot nachos which I thought would be terrible but it was my husband's turn to choose. They were excellent. Crispy, with guacamole, sour cream, cheese, diced tomatoes, bacon. I had the Fred Harvey burger, it was cooked exactly as I requested. Bacon, lettuce, tomato were fresh. Fries were good. Hubby ordered the spinach salad which I am assuming was good as he devoured it. Our server Les was so nice and attentive. Price was reasonable. LOVED IT.
google avatar

Kay Z.

Yelp
The customer service is great! Everyone was so welcoming and pleasant. The Fred Harvey burger was cooked just the way I requested it. The Fish and Chips came with coleslaw; the fish were more like fish sticks with very thick batter. We ate here mostly for convenience and because we were hungry since we were traveling from Las Vegas. This restaurant was okay and did the job.

Ryoko U.

Yelp
This is the restaurant at Bright Angel Lodge, so I think the same as Bright Angel Restaurant (https://www.yelp.com/biz/bright-angel-restaurant-grand-canyon-village) National park style (rustic/log house-like/historical) family style restaurant. Not fancy, more reasonable price range in the Majestic sightseeing spot-building just next to the canyon although there is almost no view from inside. I went breakfast, lucky not crowded and food is good too. service is simple and not disturbed lot by a waitperson, and I like it. But sometime difficult to get the waitpersons' attention and could be just left there.
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
We were here for a party of five. We were put in a waitlist for 40minutes and we were able to rest in our room until we received the text. We ordered the Fred Harvey burger. It was very good size, meat was medium rare and juicy, with a kick of jalapeño. We thought it was delicious. Side salad was okay. We also had the teriyaki tofu protein bowl. The tofu was delicious and the vegetable was very fresh. And it was just right size and the quinoa blend was fantastic. We also had two kids cheeseburgers with fries, which were really good serving size. Large amount of crispy french fries. Our server was fantastic, even though they were short staffed. The food came very fast. We had the chocolate chip cookie sundae which was perfect to share.
google avatar

Amber A.

Yelp
For a restaurant overlooking the canyon, I give this place some grace. It was cozy, and the service was prompt and friendly. The veggie burger and fish n chips was satisfying. Three of us thought the French fries were over cooked (rigid and crispy), but one member of our party loved them that way. Overall it's a decent stop if you're stuck out there.
google avatar

Andy D.

Yelp
Food wasn't great (my burger was way too pink but i didn't feel comfortable sending it back) Service wasn't great. Way too limited menu. This place was a ghost town. We had to wait 50 minutes for a table but then saw that the place was empty. Guess it was lack of workers. Sad because I'm sure this place used to be bustling and awesome.
google avatar

Rachel Y.

Yelp
I debated about a 2 star rating but also positive was it's convenience. We "entertained" ourselves while watching a mouse run back and forth towards tables and back to his spot in the corner of the wall. My daughter was eager for tater tot nachos but couldn't get them bc "there were no French fries." The waitress said several times that the tater tots had to be "saved" for people ordering sandwiches that came with fries since "there were no fries." This was half hour before closing btw and the place wasn't packing a crowd. We were able to order a side of tater tots.... Bc that makes sense. She also couldn't get nachos with chips bc "they don't come like that" despite fact that they serve chips and salsa. So I guess our waitress wasn't into flexibility or accommodating children. My house salad was gross. And did I mention the mouse? It's a shame they get away having "restaurants" like this bc people are captive in the park. But I guess if they can charge an arm and leg for sub par why make it better... sad. And gross. And a mouse.

Yelp
As other people have said- dont even bother. We were at the GC for just one night, and went unfortunately to FH twice. Each time was sort of a disaster in its own right. Supper we were seated by a pretty unfriendly front person, who told us there was a waiting time of 30 min. With a mostly empty restaurant. But we understand the employee shortage, so we put our name on the list and were texted 10 min later. Hmm. We waited quite a while for the server, who ended up being the highlight of the visit there. I had the beet salad, which was fine but uneventful- they had just run out of the tofu and veggie protein bowl, which was really sad. My sister had a turkey club type sandwich which also was fine. Meanwhile we listened to the lady at the front tell people random wait times from 30- 60 min. Loudly. Plus btw, the booths are really squishy- you have virtually no room to even sit there. Waited for quite a while for the check as well.... The waitress saved that trip. Because you are at the mercy of the Village, and we were leaving mid morning, we went unfortunately to the same place again. Much more pleasant hostess, and were seated quickly. The food was fine, but not great. I had a breakfast sandwich with veg sausage and my sister had basically bacon and eggs with potatoes O'Brien. The problem with this visit was a waitress that absolutely did a terrible job. We never got our water, we waited for so long for her to even get our drink orders. Everyone around us were having similar issues with her. The entire wait staff would disappear into the kitchen for many minutes.... There was also a woman seating people, apart from the one who was managing the seating, who kind of had no visible use. She didnt help in anyway. What the hell. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Oh and btw, when I paid in cash to try to get out faster- she shorted me the coins.... With no explanation whatsoever. No tip for you.
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
I stopped in for breakfast one morning while staying in the village. It was early October and I was surprised that the menu was super limited. I overheard a table next to me complaining because I guess the menu had just changed that morning. The food was fine to not good - what I expect from a National Park restaurant. I was sad because I found the Bright Angel lodge very charming, but this restaurant lacked any of that charm. It needs a makeover for sure.

Christine R.

Yelp
We came upon this place after a 16 mile hike. But not in the Grand Canyon. Just on the roads near here. So we were hungry! I had the chicken sandwich and my boyfriend had the burger. Service was excellent! A nice girl from Florida was very accommodating. Portions seemed just perfect for this pair of weary hikers. Great cocktails too, if you have to wait and kill time at the bar. I recommend the Gold Rush.
google avatar

Vee L.

Yelp
Unfortunately I have to leave a low rating, the food was just not good. However, service was exceptional! We put our name on the waitlist for the restaurant and while we waiting we went to the bar area. They are two separate systems, so we ordered some chips, salsa and guacamole and two drinks and closed our tab in the bar. The drinks were ok, the chips and dips were standard and had a mass produced taste. When we were finally called to sit in the restaurant, we ordered some more drinks, fish & chips, and a chicken salad. Both were just meh, the fries tasted old and the fish was greasy. The salad was ok but was a basic salad with chicken. Maybe there are better places within the park for a quick meal.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for dinner because it's right by the cabin we were staying in. The food was pretty good. The staff was not friendly though.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast and lunch on 11/12 while spending my husband's birthday weekend at the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately I cannot rate this breakfast more than a 2. First we had to pay an up charge to have fried eggs instead of scrambled. Why? Cause they are short staffed. So, since they can't do a good job recruiting or keeping staff the customer suffers. That's not the right way to run a business. We had to ask for refills on coffee and the hash browns were cold and inedible. Next, we attempted to have lunch here, but left after seeing a completely empty restaurant but told it would be a 45 minute wait. We went over to there bar were we were welcomed and served drinks and bar goodies. We ordered chicken wings and chips and salsa. It was ok. We heard mumblings of a similar experience. At Harvey's in the bar. Here's our breakfast pics. We will not be returning.
google avatar

Kim G.

Yelp
Staying at bright angel so this was best option for dinner. Wish I could recommend it, but food was very subpar and service left a lot to be desired. We ended up walking to El Tovar... much better experience in all aspects!

Yelp
Came in for a quick and basic breakfast. Ordered coffee and the oatmeal, both were very good. The standout from breakfast was server Nick who was quite honestly the best waiter we have had in the Grand Canyon park area. I was nervous with the reviews and also after watching three guys standing around the host station doing not much, with a 25 minute wait for breakfast in a 1/2 empty restaurant. Give Nick a raise. And whoever was the manager on duty, pick up a bin and start busing tables.

DuBose E.

Yelp
We were in line when the restaurant opened and the hostess was clearly annoyed that we were there. Although there were only 2 other parties ahead of us and many tables available, she refused to sit us at a window. Instead we sat by the entrance to the kitchen. The waiter was very nice but was a little too praising of the velveeta based queso and chips. The food is nothing exciting. Don't get your expectations up for anything more than previously frozen food, overpriced for a captive audience.

Yelp
Ehhhh, NO. Of all the places in the Grand Canyon Village to eat, this is the least. First of all, the lunch menu consists of Hamburger. Not I didn't say plural hamburgers. Just one hamburger choice. Oh, there was a 'beyond meat' option but those aren't real, so I didn't count it. My burger was so obviously a frozen preformed patty and it was badly overcooked as were the french fries. There are some appetizers, including bbq pork sliders so my wife ordered those. The BBQ pork was the kind that comes in a can, very soupy. And they apparently don't know what sliders are - because they served her three full sized hamburger buns with bbq pork on them. At least the water was good. The only reason I gave it a second star is it's in a historic building with some ambience.

Yelp
The Fred Harvey burger taste good, but bread was too staled. It crumpled all over the plate, table to the floor. It would be good to use fresh bread.

Yelp
We went here thinking it wouldn't be so bad after seeing some of the pictures. The NY strip steak was decent so were the mashed potatoes. Veggies that came with it were not flavored at all. Don't bother ordering the Beyond Meat Burger. It was supposed to come with cheese and pickles and they told us that it didn't even though their menu indicated it did. So we asked for them and they said they were out of pickles. They didn't have the prime rib sandwich so scratch that. And their pulled pork sandwich with Cole slaw? They put the Cole slaw inside the sandwich!!!?? Usually I've seen the slaw in the side in a cup but maybe they were saving dishes and decided to slab it on top of the pulled pork. Service was really slow. Fries though were pretty good so was their burger so you might be safe there. One other bright point was that it was located at the Bright Angel Lodge so that was convenient and it's near Mary Coulter's Lookout Studio which you should check out. I'll attach pics of the menu. Everything was overpriced especially the steak items. Good Luck if you do decide to go here but maybe the planets will align and your meal will be better than mine.

Yelp
The food was sub par. My husband's hamburger bun was so stale that it fell apart while eating it. My fish was very greasy. The waiter was friendly, but service as extremely slow.

Yelp
I know that there are a lot of negative reviews on this site, but fortunately for us, ours ended on the positive side. This restaurant has since been called "Fred Harvey House". We were seated within 25 minutes on a rainy day, we ordered Fish and Chips, and had a great lunch, all while being able to have a small look out to the Grand Canyon on a rainy day! Anyway, great place to eat if you are considering somewhere to eat after a long hike!!

Yelp
While wandering around the Grand Canyon South Rim, my friend and I got hungry. It's not like you could leave the park to eat (I mean, you could, but why? That'll take forever!), so we were fortunate that we were by Fred Harvey Burger when we got hungry. I forgot where it is, but it's on the blue line of the bus rides. We went to the front of the restaurant and was told there was a 10-15 minute wait. That was fine since we were going to explore the gift shop right next to the restaurant, so we placed our phone number with the employee to get texted when our table was ready. I don't even think it took 10 minutes (that or we just were very busy at the gift shop haha) before we got the text and headed back. We were led to a booth and handed menus. I ordered a beyond burger with fries (with the waiter asking "Do you know it's not meat?" Yup. That actually made me wonder how many people try to order it, not realizing that haha) and a Gold Rush drink. The Gold Rush had peach schnapps in it, so I asked if that could be replaced with lemon juice instead. When my Gold Rush drink arrived, the waiter spilled a little of it as he put it on the table. Ah well. The drink was a little too lemon juice, but that was fine. The drink was delicious. The beyond burger was quite delicious when it arrived, too. I had no problem eating the entire thing, including all the fries. This was the first time eating at a restaurant at the Grand Canyon and I liked eating here.
