Nice burger place. You can get gluten free bun which costs 2 euro . Free fries before 17.00 in the weekdays.

Was craving a burger and popped in here - so glad I did! Right from the ordering process, the man behind there register was super helpful - very patient with my poor German. The food options are plentiful with beef, chicken, and veggie choices. Also gluten free choices for the buns. The burgers are made fresh as are the fries. They're served hot and well presented! Very generous serving sizes that are more than plentiful. More than enough side dishes to satisfy most cravings with additional sauces available for your fries or whatever. There's both outdoor and indoor seating options. Pictured are a hot honey chicken burger and a veggie burger - with a large order of fries and a mayo sauce for the fries. I will absolutely be back because there's more burgers i want to try!

Google
Great menu with lots of different burger and sandwich options. Both fries are good and salad was fresh. Definitely recommend trying all the dipping sauces including the chipotle mayo.

For me one of the best burgers in cologne for a fair price. The guys there are the best. Very friendly and accommodating. Sadly not many seats inside but the people there awesome.

Google
One of the best burgers in Köln that is worth it for the price. The place is small and has outdoor seating mostly so it can be crowded on weekends. I recommend the smash burger. It's delicious.

Honestly the best (chicken) burger in the city!! Plus the place is such a vibe. The service is always friendly too. I’d recommend their crispy chicken burger. I would even say to say they have the best fried chicken in Cologne. Seriously, it was that good hehe 💗

Google
We asked for two burgers, one with veggie patty and the other one with meat taste patty (also veggie) and they were amazing. 9/10. They forgot to add the fries that we paid, but everyone makes a mistake. For sure, if we had said it, they would give us a solution. They were quite nice. We will come back 100% Update: We were right! We just came back and they gave us the forgotten fries for free ♥️ They are amazing

I've eaten A LOT of burgers in my time and the Kollefornia (play on California haha) burger I had at Freddy Schilling is one of the juiciest and tastiest I've had. Staff were friendly and even though I didnt speak a word of German, helped to point out the deals that they had. limited seating but great busy atmosphere, watching the guys in the kitchen turn the orders around quickly. If I'm ever in Cologne again, will definitely come back.

Yelp
I am more the Sushi Type but with all the burger shops popping up in Cologne and Bonn I decided to try one finally and began at the top of the list. I was at Freddy Shilling for lunch and had a Big Kahuna with French Fries. It was a tip from a fellow yelper. The taste was alright. I liked the combination of sweet sour and spicy. Bread bun was too soft. I wouldn't say it's the best burger ever. Service was very attentive although it is a self service place. It's more of a lunch place. You should be early if you do not want to wait. But you could also order it beforehand via phone call. If you are in business outfit you should eat outside or have take away. Because bbqueing is done in front of you the room is quite smelly. I would definitely return to this place and have a go at one of the veggie burgers!

Yelp
Freddy Schilling is a Must Go Place when in cologne - one of the best burgers with absolutely awesome meat of high quality! The atmosphere is very nice, there are seats, but you can also eat standing up in front of the restaurant. The prices are fair, not low, but fair since the quality of the meat is amazing! I would definitely recommend anyone to go here when looking for a nice American-like burger! Only critique: it can take some time until you get your food, which personally bothers me somewhatN

Yelp
A great little burger shop in Zulpicher. The Tante Tiziana Burger was well constructed with Parmesan, arugula, and a creamy sauce. The bun is quality. It's a big, a bit messy burger, but quite delicious. For 7.40 Euro, the burger isn't cheap, but a great lunch. There's a bit of outside seating as well if you're a group and would like to people watch.

Yelp
So since coming to Germany my protein intake has dramatically decreased and I have been craving probably one of the most American foods there is, a burger. So after doing a little research on Yelp I stumbled across Freddy Schilling. The reviews were good and thought I should give it a try. First I will start off with the restaurant itself, it is a little small and there isn't enough seating for the amount of people that want to eat their and since we had a free seat at our table people were constantly asking if they could have our seat and even how much longer we were going to be eating which I thought was rude. Then the service is a little strange because you pay before you eat and then a waiter brings your food out and yells your name, then you raise your hand and they bring the food to your table. Not the best when it can be noisy at times. Now to the reason why this is a go to place for any burger lover, the burgers! So my girlfriend and I wanted to try two burgers so we each order one and then split them. Te first burger was the Big Kahuna and it was a burger with a sweet sauce and a pineapple on the burger which was pretty good. But the Ziegenpeter burger was one of the best burgers I have ever had. A huge thick piece of goat cheese, with rucola salad, honey, apple and a sweet sauce with a perfectly cooked burger. If I could complain a little it would be to have a better bun or bread to compliment the burger better. We ordered potatoes with rosemary on them instead of fries and it came with a really good quark dipping sauce. All around it only cost about $25 for my girlfriend and I and we each had a beer, potatoes and two burgers. That's pretty good if you ask me. So for anyone craving some burgers this is a place I would recommend, it will settle your burger cravings I promise!

Yelp
Lecker, Lecker, Lecker That was one of the best Cheeseburgers that my wife and I have had in a very long time. The meat was so very tasty and juicy- I'm sure I will dream of that burger for a long time. Too bad we have to leave town on Friday because those burgers and fries are like no other. I'm totally serious!

Yelp
I had heard from a lot of friends that this place was great, so i came here with high expectations. Got the Man-sized Big Kahuna with Bacon & fries...challenge accepted. There's only one word to describe the Burger... AWESOME! Until now, it's one of the best burgers i've had in Germany, so it's going to be really hard from now on to beat it. Pretty Big Burger, the beef was perfect, juicy, not overcooked, tasted incredible combined with the pineapple and the Kahuna Sauce, the bun was also great, just a regular bun nothing fancy, the salad was really fresh and tasted good, the right amount of it. The fries where just good. The whole experience in Freddy Schilling was really pleasant, the staff is really nice and friendly, and when you're used to the middle age German customs where everywhere you go, you're referred to as Mr. even from people twice your age, well, is nice to be treated as an equal and being called by your name. Kudos, really a better feeling. You notice that the guys working here are having fun, because they're joking and somehow fooling around a bit, and that's a good sign, they enjoy working here, and happy people deliver better results. And that's the key for such an amazing little place. I noticed it gets full in a matter of minutes. There are 2 things i can say i didn't really love, the bench was somehow uncomfortable and the soft drink selection. For my meal i paid almost 16€, but believe me it was really worth it. This place is really on the Major Leagues.

Yelp
Try their Tante Tiziana Burger and you don't want to eat another burger again: Parmesan on oven-baked tomatoes with some mediterranean sauce on top. Plus a patty that screams high quality meat. People were shooting videos about that thing. As a side you can have rosemary potatoes. That should also tell you something. This is a little hole in the wall in the heart of Cologne. 5 Stars for that one.

Yelp
We ordered burgers for take away. As we arrived they said there was no order. We then found out that we dialed the wrong number, from Eigelstein. But this was absolutely not clear to us as the PDF which you can download on their web page only shows one telephone number. But this was the wrong one for us. So I would recommend to change the contact details on this PDF so that it is clear which number to dial. Saves time and frustration for all. To the burgers: as usual they have a great quality. But to be honest, eat them directly there. At home they got a bit too squishy. All in all I have to reduce the stars this time due to the order issue.

Yelp
Hmm.. I debated back and forth between three stars and four stars but decided to evaluate this compared to other burger places in Germany, and I have to say it's still among the best. But honestly- I heard a lot of hype about this place but was actually underwhelmed- the place is tiny with a long wait and hardly any seating. Ok- if the food is spectacular, then I can understand. But the burger we ordered was also not as great as we expected- maybe I expected more because of the price and long wait? With that said, this is a great place to get a burger, compared to other places I've been to in Germany.

Yelp
The very first experience was actually pretty good - within the first week of their opening.Staff was very friendly, burger was above average quality. Now, years later and after about a dozen visits, this place will not see a returning customer in me again. Do not expect to be treated nicely! Zero to 5 fucks are given regarding customer care. No smiles. Not even a hello for me. Annoyed reaction upon asking if credit cards are being accepted( they are not, and its 2017! Guys!) 40 minute wait time. Dont ask me things like " does the burger taste good"!? Smalltalk bullshit. Every staff member looks so damn annoyed about the fact that they have a job to do - and thats one thing only; deliver the quality they brag about! Unfortunately, the lack of enthusiasm and negative vibe of forced hard labor transfers to the potential customer and it shows! Sorry guys, you started out as a real tough contender but if you dont like working there.. if you dont like to make people happy with an outstanding product that you once were able to serve, quit it!

Yelp
The meat is not the best you can find in the city and there are a lot veggies in it so the taste of meat is a bit hidden. But good overall burger, must try in Cologne

Yelp
Nice and cozy location. The guys making the meat are friendly, the burgers are ok but no reinvention of beef between bread. Potatoes with sour cream well done. Not enough tables.

Arman D.

Yelp
I give five stars for a few reasons, even though it is a new place and the meat was not spectacular, the burger was. I have been here a few times and would award only 3-4 stars for the whole menu. The five stars are actually for the Big Kahuna Burger; this burger was by far the best I have ever had outrunning "Hans I'm glück" "beef brothers" and even the most hyped place "die fette Kuh". Anyone who wrote a review before trying this particular burger should rethink their decision and try the burger. P.S: ask the guy/ girl working at the counter to let you try the big kahuna sauce, very delicious

Yelp
Excellent burger and hipster staff. What do you wan't more? Seating? Yeah it comes little, so you may not seat. But don't worry they bring your burger no matter you got a seat or not. Ohh.. They don't have beer. Really! No beer place in Germany, sad. No other complaints.

Julie C.

Yelp
Thanks, Yelp, for helping me find this place! Absolutely fabulous burger, flavorful in and of itself, not to mention the toppings (I had the Peru Burger). I went on a Sunday evening and had no problem finding a place to sit. Would definitely go here again!

Yelp
Having heard rave reviews about Freddy Schilling, I finally decided to stop in the other day for a burger. I had the Bruno's Brenner, basically a spicy BBQ bacon burger, with a side of fries. And the verdict: I have the exact same complaints about Freddy Schilling as I have about Beef Brothers, one of the other hip burger spots in Cologne. At both places, the meat itself is practically tasteless. Please please please put some flavor in the meat! Or rather, work harder to draw out the natural flavor of beef and make it the star in your burgers. In fact, take some of the salt from the fries (which are good but a bit too salty) and put it in the beef! Perhaps the way the beef is cooked could also be changed to impart more flavor--they should look into the way that Shake Shack cooks their patties, which are always the most flavorful part of their burgers, as they should be. To mask the tasteless meat, Freddy Schilling, like Beef Brothers, puts a ton of stuff on top of the patty that doesn't actually help the whole thing taste better. A burger is supposed to be more than the sum of its parts, and with these burgers, all the parts are inferior, so the whole is doubly disappointing. On a side note, the service is very friendly and the shop itself (the one near the uni) is cute and nicely set up. I just wish the burgers were actually good! (And I'm talking American standards, not German...)
