Great place. Fantastic and diverse menu. They have American and Mexican options. I had Lengua de res and menudo two different times. My spouse had omelet and French toast. Food is great and so is service. They have menudo daily. Cash only. This will be on our regular menu for next trip.

This is easily the best spot for brunch in PV! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and genuinely kind, attentive staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Air conditioning is such a blessing in the heat. It keeps the dining experience cool and comfortable, allowing you to truly enjoy your meal without melting. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean, stylishly laid out, and has a relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes it perfect for a leisurely morning or early afternoon meal. The food is great — flavorful, beautifully presented, and served in generous portions that truly give you value for your money. Everything was delicious, clearly made with fresh ingredients and a lot of care. Whether you’re craving something sweet, savory, or a bit of both, the menu has something for everyone. Highly recommended — this place sets the bar for brunch in PV!

Fredy's is a breakfast must-do for us every time we're in PV. ATMOSPHERE: The busy corner restaurant is now fully air conditioned, even the former patio in the back. We've seen them crazy busy in March where wait times can be about an hour, and most recently in June where we could walk right in. MENU: Mexican & American breakfast items, crepes, salads, soups, sandwiches, smoothies, milkshakes, coffees, alcohol. BEVERAGE: The smoothies are excellent as is their iced coffee. FOOD: Pancakes The 3-stacker was moist yet dense but still tasty. We opted for strawberries as a topping, but be forewarned that there was a light sauce to it though it wasn't overly sweet. Omelettes I've had good luck with omelettes in PV and this was no exception. Fluffy and loaded with cheese, sliced ham, bacon, and fresh mushrooms, with a side of crispy hash browns too. Very delish! Mascota Eggs Two poached eggs sat on small fried tortillas with a bit of smoked pork loin, covered with a bean chipotle sauce, then topped with panela cheese sticks, with half an avocado to the side. SERVICE: The service was top notch, from the host, to all the servers who assisted us. And they take it seriously too, with numbered-controlled comment cards. TIP: Cash only. Free but slow WiFi. OVERALL: Great prices like most of PV, excellent service, food done well.

Nice place, enjoyed it. Would I go back there again, if it was one of those situations where there were others going etc., but to say I’d purposely go back, no. Let me explain why. I get they won’t seat you until your whole party is present. I completely understand I myself work in the restaurant industry but my establishment does not have said policy. But while you’re waiting they have cold water & fresh coffee for you to enjoy. Also they are a cash only establishment. I get that also to some extent but being that they are always super busy and in a major tourist zone, I feel this should not be an issue that you don’t take card. The atmosphere is clean & well lit but to me lacks any authenticity, feels like a standard cafe place. The service was good being that they have many in staff to deal with their high volume. I feel like their menu is too much but who am I to say. Their Mexican coffee with cinnamon was delicious & I’m not a big coffee drinker. Their vegan chile rellano was quite delicious. Everything was cooked nice and the salsa was very tasty. I would have both things again. I did love the little touch of a wrought iron stand beside the tables to hang your bags on. I do recommend this place but feel like with so many other places around you could do as well elsewhere.

Google
A staple I always visit when in Puerto Vallarta! I always get the chilaquiles verde. I branched out today and got it with steak. Very delish! Big serving. Ordered my steak medium rare and it was perfect. Sauce was a tad too watery for my liking, but still had a great taste. There was a new cheese on there I don’t recall from before; it was okay. Gooped up quickly if you took to long to eat it. I shared the French toast with my mom. So good! The strawberries tasted very fresh, and the bread was so big and pillowy you could sleep on it. I usually don’t like whipped cream, but theirs was yummy. I wouldn’t really call it a whipped cream, it was more like the whipped icing you can get on store bought cakes in the United States. Service was friendly as always. Seated and served quickly. Ambiance was friendly and inviting. Will always come back here when in PV!

Google
Visited Fredys for my birthday breakfast the place was very packed, they placed us at table with a weird angle and we were kind of in the way as people were trying to squeeze by us and a column. My steak and eggs were delicious, my GFs macahcado was not your typical kind. They use cecina which is a saltier cut of meat and it has a slight aftertaste. Over all we liked the food with the few exceptions I listed.

Google
Great spit for breakfast or lunch. Great coffee drinks. Great smoothies. Our egg dishes were very good. Service was excellent, and food arrived quickly.

Google
Always on time, delicious, and served by an amazing staff—this place delivers an excellent Mexican breakfast every single time. It's a must-stop on our trips to Puerto Vallarta and part of our regular routine. With generous, American-style portions, two normal eaters can expect to spend around 400–550 MXN. We love it.

Yelp
Had the Nachos and Guacamole appetizer and the chicken enchiladas with green chili. First few bites were good but as I continued to eat I thought to myself how good the food actually was... deliciosa. Unfortunately they only accept cash as most places do here in PV so no big deal. I would come again but still have many more restaurants on my list.

Yelp
Had a great brunch here, but definitely felt like I was in America when I ate here. There was a wait for brunch, the atmosphere was very American, and the menu was clearly catered for tourists. But it was great! We shared a berry smoothie- it was HUGE. Pretty good but a little sweet for my taste since they add a lot of honey. I got the chilaquiles and they were pretty good. I enjoyed them but they weren't as flavorful as some of the more authentic places we tried. My boyfriend got the beef tips and said it was filling and had great flavor. Big portions and friendly staff for sure, it just didn't feel like we were in Mexico when we were there.

Yelp
The Mrs. and I had breakfast at Fredy's Tucan this morning. Fredy's is definitely geared towards tourists who like to eat a lot. The portion sizes are huge compared to other places we've dined at in Puerto Vallarta. The Mrs. ordered Fredy's Tucan Slam which came with bacon, eggs, pancakes, and hash browns. I order eggs with hash browns and smoked pork chop. It was really a bone-in ham steak. Our food was good but not impressive. Priscilla, our server was very friendly and the service we received from the rest of the staff was great. Fredy's is a cash only establishment. Your bill is broken down into dollars or pesos. I recommend using pesos. PV is much easier to navigate using the local currency.

Yelp
Second time visiting this restaurant for breakfast. We LOVE it! The chilaquiles verdes with chicken and egg is DELICIOSO! We ordered 3 extra eggs and split the meal. We were both totally full! And they bring free toast with amazing jams (similar to how some restaurants chips & salsa). Lovely! David was an amazing waiter, very attentive. It was Sunday brunch time, so super busy, but the sweet gal said it would be a 15 minute wait and it was more like 10 mins. Totally worth it. Total cost with bottled waters, coffee and tip was $20USD.

Mitness P.

Yelp
This was probably the best meal I had in PV. The green sauce chilaquiles were some of the best ever. The service was great too!

Yelp
My choice for the bowl of sea food chowder, filling meal and flavorful. Attentive staff. Charming ambiance with brisk energy, not a quiet place, fun energy.

Yelp
This is like the IHOP of PV! Solid breakfast choice, nothing special. They have free WiFi and water / coffee as you wait. No outside drinks allowed so the manager had to hold my iced coffee for me. The wait goes by pretty quickly. You get a complementary toast + butter / jam basket. The waiters come by with a pastry basket for 24 pesos. We didn't get one but they looked good. I opted for traditional eggs Benedict. The eggs were cooked well and the ham was yummy. My husband got the Campesino breakfast, with a fried egg, steak, chilaquiles, and refried beans. Everything was tasty and large portion size. Breakfast for 2 (pre tip) was 384 pesos. Not bad.

Sheri G.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. Every time I'm in PV I go to have breakfast there multiple days. Service is always wonderful and workers are very friendly.
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
Another great meal and service. Fredy's starts with a variety of pastry options. Big enough to practically fill you up before the meal. Chocolate croissant and cinnamon roll each big enough to feed two. I had the eggs, bacon, and pancakes. Excellent!
google avatar

Charlie W.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast. Joshua and Alex were excellent servers! The food was top notch and plentiful! Loved the tropical oatmeal and avocado toast. Lots and lotta of options and gourmet won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Lin F.

Yelp
Food with friendly service and fast! Bread basket and jams included. Fresh fruit plate very sweet. OJ was freshly squeezed! Ambience is family oriented. Yelp site indicates credit card but upon arrival cash only. US dollars accepted yes. They seat entire parties- make sure everyone is present. Very happy with food, in and out in under 1 hour for breakfast.
google avatar

Yelp
La comida estuvo rica, y el servicio pero lo que no me gustó en nada fue el jugo verde no me lo liquaron bien. El perejil tenía los pedazos grandes y no muy mal. When ordering green juice make sure the blend it well, mine was pretty badly made.

Yelp
Was recommended to come here by staff at our hotel- the interior design with all the tucans i was obsessed! I love that they have purse/ bag stands. We tried the waffle with strawberries so good, can't go wrong with a good waffle! Also had the chilaquiles with arrachera (meat).... Let me tell you the meat was meeting ALL the requirements, so tender and juicy, medium well honestly so good, chilaquiles themselves were mid, no spice on the sauce and it had only a light splash of sour cream and cheese, when I asked for more I ended up getting charged for it LOL it's ok totally worth it. Our server was the kindest, most attentive and funny! Note: - this location does not accept any card payments just cash. - a server will come up to you offering a pastry, if you get one you'll be charged for it without being told, if you do not finish it- ask for a box to eat later. Cash only locations are sometimes hard to commit since now a days we rely on Apple Pay or credit cards- who has cash now a days? Hopefully they will get a card service and that should have them even busier. Also if you're going to have your staff offer pastries, I'd highly advise you let the customers know it's not complimentary and there will be a charge prior to picking.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, this place was the perfect ending to a wonderful trip to Puerto Vallarta. The food was outstanding. The blueberry muffin that I had was so scrumptious. And then the rest food was abundant and on point. I had a smoked salmon omelette. I had no idea just how this was gonna knock my socks off. But the Verde sauce they had on top with lots of citrus notes was phenomenal. I will go back just for this dish. My boyfriend had the chicken enchiladas with Mole sauce. The Molly was rich, but not overbearing or burnt tasting like some mole's. We loved it very much. When we arrived, we let the staff know that we needed to have a quick breakfast. They got an action and gave us everything we needed to be able to leave on time for our flight. They were amazing. Also, take note that they only accept cash. They will take pesos or dollars. But you will need to have cash to enjoy this place. My only regret is that I didn't go at a time that I could enjoy the bar. Cocktails look amazing.

Yelp
For our PV trip I knew we'd want to hit a brunch spot and this place had good reviews and the food looked great. We had a rental car and found underground parking nearby for about $1 and walked over. We ended up ordering the supreme omelette with cake with hash browns and the grand slam breakfast which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns and choice of waffles, pancakes or French toast. We opted for the waffles and added strawberries. The food was really good and satisfied our craving for something besides Mexican food during our trip here. Service was also very good, the waiter was super nice and attentive.
google avatar

Cassidy B.

Yelp
The service was spectacular! All staff went above and beyond. Our waiter was fantastic and the service was very quick! The decorations are cute and very tropical. The food was good. They serve a bread basket with different jams that was really good. The waffles and hash browns are not similar to American style but the food overall was good. If you're looking for something more "local" then this isn't it but the service was out of this world.
google avatar

Lynn S.

Yelp
Wow! Simple great service, good food, great ambiance! Before your meal (Breakfast) one of the host comes by asking if you want a pastry, I took one it was amazing so flackery, buttery and not over sweet. I believe it was free. I'm not . The staff was out standing, the food was a 3.5-4 good not great, but everyone was so attentive I have to give this place FIVE STARS. Go you won't be sorry!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is in a great location in puerto Vallarta, La zona romántica. Seems to be a popular spot for tourists and locals with plenty of items. The food is good with great portions and fair prices (for tourists) but they do not accept credit card so you'll have to have cash ready. The place is spacious and comfortable and has air conditioning.
google avatar

Aftin J.

Yelp
Delicious spot for breakfast with ac, plenty of seating, and a large menu. The seabas was delicious and paired with a cu of coffee. Service was good and food came out quickly.
google avatar

Caroline G.

Yelp
Excellent food and very large portions. I got the chilaquiles divorcados con un huevo, a fruit plate, and a mimosa. All were excellent. I sat at the bar because I was just one and the servers were very sweet. Sometimes, when you're just one person, you get forgotten but certainly not in this case.
google avatar

Mindy X.

Yelp
Came as a group of 4 on a Tuesday morning around 10am, and we waited 20 minutes for a table. It did take another 20-25 minutes for food to be served. Food was beautifully presented. I got the San Sebas eggs and portions were filling (two eggs, refried beans and guacamole). Good value for the price. We ordered all savoury dishes, and nothing was exceptional but everything was good. Mimosa with orange juice was fresh but weak. Service was quite good. Not too all over our table and very helpful when I asked for cheese on the side, etc. Bonus: My family liked the complimentary water & coffee while we waited for our table to be ready
google avatar

Cristine M.

Yelp
My personal experience today is the meat was less than pleasant, the meat taste like wet paper tendony bits, and tasted like salty stale oil. Bad experience for machaca. My husband order the chicken mole omelet it was tough, flavorless and difficult to cut. We could'nt finish it. We don't recommend this. The jugo verde is good though, and the service is excellent
google avatar

Kristine N.

Yelp
If rainforest cafe and Cheesecake Factory had a baby, this would be it lol Reminded me of a chain restaurant and the food resembled it. We are not fans of chain restaurant food so we just thought it was meh. Come here if you want an Americanized breakfast on your trip
google avatar

Yelp
Paradise with the best breakfast and most kind staff. The freshest squeezed juices that will revitalize your body and bring a smile of delight to your face. Now.....the food.....la comida es muy bueno y deliciouso. ANYTHING you order will be freshly prepared, served with love and will be one of the best breakfasts you will ever eat. Everything is popping in your mouth with fresh ingredients, flavorful seasonings and I swear every employee was truly happy to be a work and it was obvious due to their smiles and performance. They took pride in the food and their work. They also served they delicious muffins with different jams and jellies. O M triple G, they were divine and I could of ate the entire basket, or at least tried in gluttony. Wow! What a meal, what an experience! It is a beautiful place to dine and spend your time while in Puerto Vallarta. You'll enjoy the walk to the restaurant along the cobblestone streets, lined with vendors selling their crafts.
google avatar

Alexandra O.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot in the romantic zone! Very large menu for both drinks and food, including a large section for Mexican specialties. The portions were huge but absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the telpa eggs or chilaquiles. Multiple waiters were checking in on us to make sure everything was good. While it is a local place, it does feel a little chain-y. Would recommend for any breakfast lover!
google avatar

Yelp
I convinced the wife to hit the town for some scenary and breakfast. Took a taxi about 3 miles into town from Fiesta Americana $10 only. Glad we did. Came to have breakfast, quick 10 minute wait. Free Wi-Fi. They also give complimentary bread's as a mini appetizer. The strawberry jelly was delicious with the toast. They are strict on outside coffee and drinks, don't bring in. Customer service and staff was great and attentive. The breakfast and the mimosas a must. The meat was thick and juicy, beans authentic. Salasa was mild great for my GERD. Would be back in the near future. Close to the beach to walk. They take CASH only.
google avatar

Dayna E.

Yelp
We had breakfast here and we couldn't have been more satisfied with our pick for breakfast. They have so many dishes to choose from. The atmosphere was a delight. Relaxing while enjoying a cup of coffee. The food was delicious and had so much flavor. Our waiters were twins! Being a twin and having my twin their too, to see others twins doing their twin thing was too funny!! ‍ it was a great experience!

Yelp
This is an excellent cash-only (USD or pesos, but better to pay in pesos) brunch/breakfast spot in Zona Romantica with delicious food and nice, attentive staff. They energetically greet you and take your order shortly after being seated, and the way the staff interacts with customers really contributed to the lively, inviting ambiance of the restaurant. Seating is indoors with fans and AC's. They have coat/purse hooks at every table, which is a nice touch, and provide complimentary toast and jam when you sit down. However, if someone comes up to your table with a basket of pastries to choose from, those will cost you. Just a heads up. We had the chicken and mole omelet (omelette de pollo con mole) and the smoked salmon omelet (omelette de salmón ahumado). They were both amazing and I would highly recommend each. They were served with a pico de gallo and a salsa roja with a slight kick. The portion sizes were normal, not huge, which frankly I appreciated because I left satisfied, not stuffed. I also had a berry fruit blend/smoothie (licuado de frutos rojos), and it was exactly what I needed to round out the meal (so good!) If there is a wait, it moves quickly. We went on a holiday and were quoted 30 minutes for a party of 2 but were seated in 20. They also offered us free coffee and cold water while we waited, which I felt was a *very* nice touch.
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
You come here for the upbeat English service, and reliable predictable food. Its not super adventurous, its really aimed at out-of-Mexico tourists, but I generally liked it and their fruit juice was fantastic. I found it a bit bland and there are other options for something more Mexican. Its not cheap, slightly on the expensive side of things, but acceptable. I don' t expect to back to PV, but if I did, I think I'd eat here once during the visit.

Slick E.

Yelp
Service awesome Food just so so kinda like eating at a Dennys..... definitely more authentic places nearby
google avatar

Yelp
We are so happy that our Airbnb host recommended this amazing restaurant because it did not disappoint! Fredy's Tucán is located on a busy corner and open for breakfast and brunch only. We walked in with no reservation and was seated instantly. We were greeted by three staff who would be taking our order, cleaning and serving our drinks. Another server even went around each table offering free pan dulce (sweet bread). The staff was very nice and really went the extra mile providing exceptional service! Food was amazing, but the portions were large! Plates are large enough to share with someone or eat solo if you are hungry lol This spot is definitely bookmarked for us to return in the future!

Yelp
Muy buena comida,el sazón estuvo de maravilla. Ordenamos el desayuno campesino, los chilaquiles rojos y el omelette supreme. El ambiente y servicio muy muy rápido y los meseros muy buena onda

Yelp
Great brunch place in fun area of downtown PV. Friendly service, extensive menu, and solid food! Expect a bit of a wait, but they offer coffee and water for those waiting. I love mole and was excited to see a chicken mole omelette. It was very good, however, a little on the dry side, definitely could've used more mole . Overall great experience and I would go back.

Yelp
A must stop go to for a breakfast/lunch...Always order a waffle with strawberries with whipped cream. Ambiance is always welcoming. They updated interior a bit a while back. We always go there when we visit Puerto Vallarta. Love it there. The service is always great there.
google avatar

Brooke H.

Yelp
Short wait for amazing service and delicious food! Waitstaff is very welcoming and treats you like family.
google avatar

Megan H.

Yelp
Be prepared for a little bit of a wait. This is walk in only. Also cash only no cards. Service was amazing. Once seated you are treated to complimentary cinnamon roll or croissant options which are fresh baked and amazing. Food has tons of flavor and was extremely good especially for how well it is priced. Ambience is casual and fun. Great place for a casual lunch or brunch. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Probably one of my favorite meals in PV. Get the Borgia and Avocado toast. Heaven. Strong coffee and great friendly staff . What an amazing spot too!

Yelp
There are two sites. One is near Zona Hotela, which serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch. It's very popular with both the locals (we are) and tourists. Huge portions are offered, so if you're appetite is small, you might want to share. Nice work atmosphere where Fredy is always there encouraging and helping his servers. The other one serves lunch and dinner and after hours and is near the Malecon. We haven't been there yet, but suspect the food there is as wonderful and tasty as it is at the breakfast place near our home. We will visit often. We live here! Every day is a beautiful day in Puerto Vallarta and Fredy's helps make it so! Visitaremos a menudo. ¡Vivimos aquí! ¡Cada día es un hermoso día en Puerto Vallarta y Fredy's ayuda a que así sea!
google avatar

Chris V.

Yelp
Great /wonderful place. The only negative: cash only & their hours of operation. Otherwise it is wonderful. Good food (cheap too). "Diner style." Try their smoothies but ask for it in a "to go" cup because they're HUGE. Mango coconut is the best.
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Neat brunch spot with variety of choices like chilaquiles, waffles, grand slams (stolen from denny's?), and omelettes. They also give complimentary bread, butter and jam. The food was good, I wish the salsas were spicier though, couldn't really taste any spice so if you don't like spice, you don't have to worry about that here!
google avatar

Alessandra G.

Yelp
We decided to go outside of the resort for breakfast. We ordered chips and guacamole for the table. It was delicious and festive they had green and red chips. I especially loved the chips because they weren't as thick as the ones on the resort. I ordered the chilaquiles with chicken and scrambled eggs. It was fantastic! It was huge too definitely enough to share! The kids had a waffle with ice cream and they were all in heaven! Definitely a solid breakfast spot!
google avatar

Kalila W.

Yelp
Wow! One of the best breakfasts ive had.. top 2. The place was really busy too, compared to the other businesses in the area. Thankfully i got bar seating after waiting for 10-15mins. There was a pastry cart bring pushed around, i got the blueberry cream cheese muffin. The best quality. Fresh blueberry, cream not overly sweet, bread was soft with just enough chew. Ugh! In love at first bite, and it only got better. My main was the Campesino Platter with thin marinated beef steak, chilaquiles, and refried beans. I basically licked the plate clean and i dont even eat refried beans much. Flavors were A1 all around, im not joking. What a meal! All of that plus their specialty coffee and large fresh grapefruit juice was under $20!!! This is a must stop breakfast spot in Jalisco.

Yelp
One of the best places I have tried in PV for breakfast! Great atmosphere, a lot of options to choose from and super friendly service. Ariel was my server and was the the best! Everyone is nice and you are never rushed! :)

Yelp
Visited on November 1st, 2023 My favorite breakfast spot when in PV. They serve the real chorizo. Many places serve a disgusting hot dog sausage concoction that is terrible. Their freshly baked pastries to start your breakfast/brunch are delicious. Selection of food including non meat options. Personally love the chorizo and bacon. Will share pics of my onion - triple chorizo omelette. Refried beans, salsa and tortillas. As authentic as it should be. Service is excellent in a beautiful and pleasant setting.

Yelp
This place is located a few blocks from the beach, food was great and the servers were awesome. They come around with a cart of fresh baked breads. A must try if you're in the area.

Yelp
We have driven by many times and finally decided to stop in for breakfast. The place was packed, and had about 20 people waiting to be seated. We opted to sit at the bar to avoid the wait. I was impressed with the restaurant in every way. Clean and inviting and quick and friendly service. My salmon egg Benedict was very delicious and the hash browns were just the way I like them, slightly crispy. They bake all of their own bread here, as well as making their own tortillas. Everything was fresh and very delicious. We will definitely be back again and again. Now I understand why it was packed. 5 Big Stars for sure!!
