I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for this specific Free People. It has been my favorite Free People location for a few years now. Every time I visit the area, I make it a point to stop by, as the vibe is always so welcoming and the layout and merchandise are beautifully displayed. During my most recent visit, I had the pleasure of being assisted by Sydney and Allison, who helped me put together an outfit for the night. They made the experience incredibly fun and memorable. I also overheard them helping another customer style an outfit for an event, and I was truly impressed by their kindness, patience, and helpfulness. Never have I felt so unwelcome. There were 3 people working in the shop and I stepped in. I had just purchased a sweater down the block so I had that small bag and a small hand bag. I walked around the shop and literally felt like I was being stalked. I won’t be stepping foot in this shop again.

Great quality clothing. I love the customer service. The size of the store is perfect. I went with my boyfriend to buy this dress we saw earlier this week and it was STILL there! We got so lucky. Thank you and we will be returning!

A cute boutique style shop in Manhattan Beach right before the pier. You'll have to find parking in one of the structures or stroll in while walking the area. Lots of cute styles, a sale section, small jewelry section and changing rooms. The staff was friendly. Prices are higher than average. The store is somewhat small and not too much to choose from.

I recently lost my mom, unexpectedly. I found a few items with free people tags on them while cleaning her house out. I decided to stop at this location to see what could be done. Unaware of free people’s policies, nor did I have any clue which email my mom may have purchased them under. I was instructed to call customer service and sent away. As I do understand all stores have policies, my store associate didn’t even offer condolences or assistance on the number to call. A little understanding or sympathy would have been appreciated. I stopped by @ 11:00am on 1/28/23. Hopefully management can offer better training on customer service.

The staff were kind and answered the questions I had about the clothes, and offered suggestions. I’m new to this area and they were helpful and pretty friendly! Only thing I’d like to nitpick is that the fitting room curtains/couch seemed a bit old/dirty, but the clothes themselves and staff were good. Recommend you to check it out.

Excellent staff. All 3 young ladies were so helpful, friendly and offered suggestions on what to pair with what etc.. And yes each associate was wearing a 😷 mask. I generally shop in Santa Barbara or in Hawaii. Purchased quite a few online items for the first time and returned 2 items at this location. No problems with my return. One of the managers, Ciara went above and beyond to help me with an issue I had (that was totally my fault!) and resolved it within an hour today. The store manager of this location was equally as helpful in approving a resolution for Ciara and I. So appreciative of the staff at this store & all they did for me! Big kudos to the entire Manhattan Beach Free People staff, thank you!! 😊

Great trendy woman's store in MB, it was packed during the Holiday Season, enjoy. It was hard to get any reaction from any CS Associate as they were busy helping other customers.

Customer service 10/10 -- Kelsey and Courtney gave me fantastic feedback about the items I selected and were great at collaborating with my experience without taking it over. Great people, great store (I won't knock it for being super small, but a heads up to anyone looking for FP fitness outfits -- you can order them from here, but they don't carry any!) Thanks again!

i've been a free people customer for many years, both in store & online. each store's staff has been awesome, but the girls at the MB store are exceptional! they are helpful, kind, patient, & you can tell they enjoy where they work. thank you, free people MB!

Whenever I'm in town, I definitely like checking out this Free People, not every store has the same products and I always have really good luck here! On Black Friday, I swung by hoping to find a dress I saw online, no such luck but I was able to find a blouse that was perfect for the holiday events to come! The gal who was assisting me was so good at her job she got me to order the dress and have it shipped to my home. I am not one to do this, I really like to have things in my hand once I pay for it, but she was so sweet and convincing I had to do it! My husband was really impressed with her selling tactic! The staff here are a lot nicer than the gals down at LF a couple stores down, better options, better price points and definitely friendlier staff! I hope this store gets renovated soon, they need to expand!

I definitely love Free People clothes! I've been buying their products for years. This store is really cute, located at two blocks from the beach, it's a great place to hit when you are hanging out with your girlfriends. The staff is nice and helpful enough but I do think they could be better. Anyway, this is one of my favorite stores aside from Splendid which is located just across the street.

I have been buying Free People clothing at Nordstrom and Macys for a number of years and their clothes are really cute. Very girlie, but kind of hippie and super comfy. They are not always cheap - a lot of items are close to $100 and up, but definitely worth it. This location is really cute, newer because downtown Manhattan Beach has seen quite a few businesses come and go during this recession. The sales people are very friendly, and they even have a nice little sale section. When I went, I had my 3 month old baby with me and he was sleeping in a sling that I was wearing, and the salesperson hooked me up with the biggest dressing room that had a nice couch with pillows, so I put him on a blanket to sleep while I tried clothes on, I was pumped! I'm sure other mommy shoppers would appreciate that luxury :)

These guys never pick up the phone just go online or try one of the smaller boutiques nearby.

Cute shop that still maintains a local feel. Great selection with the sweetest workers inside! It's pet friendly too. I found several cute pieces in here and enjoyed exploring around the shop because it was different than other Free People stores I had been in before that felt so department-store like, you know what I mean? This had two small levels and a little back nook with other clothing options. Great experience!

Once you fall in love with FP, so help you. Love this designer and all of their bohemian flair. Such a treat to find their stores.

I enjoy This location of Free People in Manhattan. Especially the store itself. The space is nice and the whole point of being next to the water makes it nice to join in when your walking out in the beach. As well to see the new dresses next to the rest. Thanks and keep up the nice decors.

I am HORRIFIED by my treatment at this store. Absolutely horrified. My entire closet is basically Free People. My father ordered a dress for me online as a present and the dress was too big. It's still in it's original bag and packaging and of course all the tags are in tact. All I wanted to do was exchange the dress for something else, and I was told that I couldn't. They need the "original" receipt, but what are you suppose to do if you receive a gift? People don't always give you a gift receipt. So now I'm stuck with a 200.00 dress that I can't even wear. Not to mention, the employee that "helped" me was super rude and not accommodating at all. Everything I have boughten for my wardrobe in the last three years has been Free People. This experience makes me NEVER want to purchase these clothes again.

This is my first review on Yelp, but I am fired up! The worst company I have ever dealt with. In short, I ordered boots. They sent to wrong city. Gave me the run around, and even after acknowledging their wrong doing and told me they would refund, they then told me I had to file a police report even though they delivered to wrong address. Again, got SUCH the runaround. I even said I would accept boots late. They said no. What a nice company to treat a loyal customer this way haha. My credit card company took care of everything in a snap and laughed at how I was treated by free People.

My favorite FP store. Smaller than others but I live nearby so it's convenient. If they don't have what you are looking for they always offer to find it at another store or online. Girls are always polite and greet me and my daughter. Always helpful when you have a question but without getting followed around the store pressured by the sales associate. Love it!

I came in here the other day with a friend after spending the day at the beach. We weren't greeted when we walked in and were in the store quite a bit and no one bothered to acknowledge us. The sales associates were gossiping- about other coworkers it seemed. I found some cute skirts to try on and when I found the dressing room, the SA (fair skinned, long blonde hair) told me to take any room and didn't even bother to help me with the items or curtain- the curtains are tied and the one for my room didn't cover the entire doorway. I've worked retail before and it's basic training that you assist the customer with their item and close the curtain for them. She just walked away. Not once did the SA bother to check in with me. When leaving the SA finally asked me what I thought and I told her I needed a different size. Her reply? "Oh I'm sorry we don't have your size," in a snooty, emotionless tone. How do you know? You didn't even bother to check! Ugh. I'm pretty easy going so what bothers me about this experience is that while I was in the store, another woman came in and they greeted her and actually provided her some type of service. If they had treated her the same, I wouldn't care. But since it's clear this SA didn't care about making a sale with me, I'll just buy the skirt online

I've shopped at a few different Free People stores for myself and my daughters and I've always had pleasant experiences at each location. This location is one of my favorite, however, due to the great selection of clothes and because of the location. The employees are always wonderful here as well. I look forward to shopping here again!

I love free people clothing and shoes!! The staff was very nice to me on 4/25/17 when I was looking for an item that I had seen online. Only to find out that it can only be purchased online. They assisted me with ordering it online in the store and having it sent to them. I will recommend you visiting this store.

2 stars because it's Free People and the clothes are cute but the staff is so unbelievably rude. It wasn't a one time thing, it's every time I go in there. Never going back. I'll head to Santa Monica, they're friendly there.

I am absolutely in love with Free People! This store is so cute and the clothing is so beautiful. The staff was so friendly and let me play dress up around the store. I had a great overall experience and ended up buying quite a bit of stuff. I am so happy with my purchases - they are great quality and so cozy. Not to mention so unique and beautiful! Will definitely be returning to this store. :)

Love the decor and the fun displays in this store and oh how I love FREEPEOPLE clothing .... but the staff here could be a little more friendly!

Cute visual merchandising. Always trendy and stylish clothes on display. The environment is very ethereal and casual. They have the cutest maxis and blouses. Staff was friendly and greeted is as we came in. Always been a big fan of this brand. Kind of pricey but great pieces!

The best customer service. Vanessa was so helpful in finding the item I was looking for and better yet I called the next day to get a price adjustment on an item I bought the day before and it was done right over the phone, since I live far from that store. The other sales girls were really friendly and welcomed me with a smile.
