Very typical mean girl energy in this store. It’s very common within the URBN Corporation, and I feel like this is pretty well known to anyone who frequents their stores. As a teen, I’d find myself feeling “intimidated” by the “hip” girls that acted like I wasn’t up to par, but as an adult with money to spend, I find it to be so very transparently insecurity-ridden and surely played out. Additionally, as someone who worked at Anthropologie in college, it struck me as odd that when I was in the other day and spent about five minutes wandering around the small shop (no acknowledgment of my existence or help offered), when I finally caught who I presume to be a manger to inquire about a dress on a mannequin that I couldn’t locate on the floor, she simply replied with “sorry, that’s the last one, and it’s a Medium,” without asking if I’d be interested in ordering it from her computer. We did that a lot for customers in Cambridge, and it always made them realize that we appreciated their business, and added a personal touch to the chain store fashion experience. I asked if she could show me the tag so I could get the style number to order it online (I did), and felt very much like it was assumed that I wasn’t a legitimate customer. Obviously my sentiment has been repeatedly echoed in previous reviews, but I felt it was worth putting in my two cents, as there’s never going to be improvement if this isn’t seen for what it is. Moral here- if you’re interested in something from this store, and are familiar with FP sizing and don’t have to make the trip in, just save yourself the hassle of feeling like you’re back in high school.

Props to Dimanne & Gretchen for seriously helping me out today. Extremely helpful, understanding, and they both actually made my nightmare of shopping.... a pleasant time. Walked out with a dress, plus bags, blouses, and a super cute skort. Thanks ladies!

Google
Store always looks nice and visually appealing. Staff is cold and unapproachable. Was shopping on a busy Saturday and 3 employees were sitting on counter behind register, no staff help in fitting rooms. One employee was at the front doing all the greeting and sales floor cleaning.

Yelp
I walked into this store to check out some ideas for gift items. I found the store very nice and welcoming...the fashion styles are really young and active, almost nostalgic but chic. I found something for one of my nieces that I think she will love...it was fun to see jean overalls at the store, I have not seen those around much. Free People, as a friend told me, is the destination for bohemian fashion that features the latest trends and vintage collections for women who live free through fashion, art, music, and travel. The brand offers a range of products from apparel (like jeans, leather jackets, sweaters, crop tops, maxi skirts and more), to accessories, outerwear, shoes, intimates, swimwear, activewear, and beauty. Known for its playful femininity, the brand is a destination for party dresses, black dresses, wrap dresses, minis and maxis. Free People is distributed globally via direct channels, including the Free People Global site, the Free People UK site and the Free People Chinese site, as well as specialty clothing boutiques, top department stores, the brand's free-standing retail locations (in the U.S, Canada and Amsterdam) and the Free People Apple iOS mobile app.

Yelp
Shared a review on Google months ago about my horrible experience. Went back yesterday why I did I have no idea. Just happened to be passing through the mall. upon walking in 2 girls at the register. not one says hello, welcome to free people, Hi how are you. Like they should!!! They didn't even know I was in the store they were too busy talking about what they were doing that evening and giggling... Typical 20 year old. So I do understand that but you are at work you are getting paid to do a job. Higher management district management does not care one bit about this store and boy does it show. If you like rude cashiers In extra extra small clothing this store is for you.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I wear Free People ALMOST exclusively. It's a brand I love & trust. And the people are usually quiet helpful. Today (July 17, 2019) at approximately noon I entered the store. The two young ladies that were working there never even looked up. I said hello when I passed the register area they were standing behind and they again, never looked up. I walked every inch of that store without the slightest bit of awareness from these two ladies. I feel management should know about their lack of enthusiasm. There were other people that came & went while I was in the store, and the were equally ignored. Awareness cuts down on shoplifting, and it keeps customers coming back. I'll be avoiding this location when I come back to Providence.

Yelp
Love this store! Staff was super friendly and super helpful, they've got a great selection too. Only downside is being in providence place (kind of a pain to get in and out of) but other than that love it, love free people!

Yelp
As a lover of the brand itself, this store discourages me from shopping. I would rather buy the same product online. I've been in multiple times and always have a similar experience, the sales people are very rude. They don't greet you, and if they happen to say hi, no eye contact is attempted. Typically, whenever I've stopped in, the sales associates don't try to help you whatsoever. They treat you like you're a nuisance for bothering them or taking them away from their personal conversations with fellow staff members. As Nordstrom just closed...I will not be surprised if this store is next to follow. Free people is everywhere, these girls need to realize they are representing the brand and doing a terrible job from what I've seen.

Yelp
I love the store and service has been good, but I had a terrible experience. I asked an employee, Olivia, for a romper on the mannequin because that was the last in my size. She handed it to me, then ripped it out of my hands and handed it to another customer who didn't even ask for it. I heard the other customer and quote on quote she said "Oh, do you think I need a smaller size? But since you took it of the mannequin for me, I have to try it on." We called up the manager, Emily, and she didn't even say she was sorry. She just kept making excuses and said it was a misunderstanding. Rudeness is not a misunderstanding.

Yelp
I couldn't disagree with the negative reviews on here more. The sales associates and managers are always SO friendly, greet everyone and consistently go above and beyond to help me find items in my size. On multiple occasions they've ordered items for me online that weren't in the store and are always willing to give advice and opinions about outfits when I ask. I shop here very frequently and have never had an unpleasant experience.

Yelp
I've bought so many amazing items from this store! I've brought my friends, I've brought my husband ( to buy my things) and I never leave empty handed. Today I was looking for their amazing knee high socks, and was saddened that they didn't have any in stock. The amazing Olivia said there were no worries, because she could order them online for me. iM an older gal but this bright and shiny girl always makes makes me feel like a rock star. Not only does she remember me, but she remembers my style. I'll come back again and again, not only for the quality of the clothes but for Olivia who is brilliantly gifted for making people feel their best!

Yelp
I be never been to a store in which the clothing was so overpriced and the salesgirls were so rude. The manager was named Olivia, she was right in front of the staff not doing their jobs and talking down to me as if it was my privilege to shop there! I called corporate in New York to complain and I got the same attitude!!! I've seen more than one of these stores close recently, all I can hope for the sake of the public is that they go out of business soon!
