Free Walking Tour León "The Original*

Best walking tour in Nicaragua! Our guide, Antony, was amazing. His English was perfect, and he had a whole array of in depth knowledge on the history of Nicaragua and Leon. We learnt so much during this tour. He also took us to the market so we could try local dishes, which was an unexpected bonus. We had the best time, muchas gracias Antony! This tour is a fantastic way to start your stay in León!

Amazing tour with Leo, he was super knowledgable and proud of Nicaragua! A great mix of the political history, the native people and culture that makes up the country. We even had a visit to the market to try some of the local food. I really liked how he asked everyone if they had any particular interests at the start of the tour and adapted accordingly. A good mix of facts and personal anecdotes. The best tour we have been on in our 5 months in Latin America! Muchas gracias Leo!!

Leone gave an outstanding tour this evening, true professional. Very informative and great story teller. Highlights were how he used pictures to put faces to the names of influential people he spoke about during the history lessons. Would recommend if you have 2.5 hours while in Leon.

Best Walking tour I've been to. Very informative and all key facts to know about the city. Always answering the question, and we ended up on the roof of the cathedral in time to watch the sunset. Thank you 🫶🏽

Amazing tour! Lionel is a really good guide, he knows the story and loves his country. With that tour you will understand the story and the politic of Nicaragua and will have lots of good adresses too 😉 I strongly recommend it !

Antonio did a great job introducing us to Leon. He is very knowledgeable and had great insights into the history and culture of Nicaragua.

I cannot recommend this experience enough! Leo is very informative and answered all of our questions. He was also really good at giving multiple perspectives on the political history of Nicaragua. I also really liked that he ties in all of the places we visited with the history he told. The food market experience gives you the opportunity to try foods you wouldn’t necessarily have gone for otherwise. Finally, I would say that the tour is a perfect length of time, Leo stopped in areas where we could find shade or sit down which broke it up very nicely!

We very much enjoyed the street art tour with Leo. It was the perfect way to kick off our journey in Nicaragua, immersing us in the country’s history told through powerful artwork. Leo was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his country, and it was a joy to listen to him share its stories. His excellent English made the tour easy to follow, and he has a real talent for telling a nuanced and compelling narrative. What made it even more special was that Leo personally knew some of the painters, so he could share their backstories and unique perspectives behind the murals. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Léon!
