Freedom Beach is absolutely stunning and easily one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve been to in Phuket.
We stayed in a hotel on the hill nearby, so while the hike down was a bit challenging, it wasn’t too painful for us. If you’re staying outside the area or not on the hill, I’d strongly recommend taking a taxi to the entrance. Going down to the beach is manageable, but keep in mind there are a lot of stairs, some steep sections, and even a bit of light rock climbing — comfortable shoes are a must.
The entrance fee is 100 baht per person, and once you reach the beach, it’s absolutely worth it. The water is beautiful, the scenery is incredible, and there are places where you can buy cold drinks. It can feel a little packed at times, but it’s still an amazing experience.
One very important tip: do not walk back up unless you really love steep uphill hikes. After climbing all the stairs, there are taxis available at the top for 100 baht per person — take it. We visited twice, walked up once, and it was honestly brutal.
Highly recommend visiting Freedom Beach — just plan smart, wear good shoes, and save your energy for enjoying the view. 🌊🏝️
