Yelp
Terrible experience! I am not posting this review to hurt a local company or get anything for free. I just wanted what was owed to our family, what we were promised and what we paid for. We were missing 25lbs of meat and that was significant enough for us to fight this longnto tey and get it. This review is the result of being treated like we don't matter and to let others know how they handle things NOT when things go right, but when things go wrong. Please refer to our pictures on our Yelp review to see our text conversation. Dana literally promises to send me the missing meat but then ignores me for the next 3 weeks. Please, just go to ANY other cattle farm. You'll get more meat, a better price, and easily better customer service. Dana (the owner) was "nice" until we questioned our order. Then he lied to us, ignored us for weeks, then they got angry at me and hung up on me just for trying to respectfully settle the discrepency. We have been patient, courteous, respectful and professional to the end, so we can sleep at night knowing we did our best to make this right in the right way. First, we were patient, but our order took 4 MONTHS to be delivered! If you look at this pictures we posted on Yelp, it shows that Dana promised our order was going in to the butcher all the way back in October. Then, we kept getting pushed back all the way until mid January. The communication was almost zero and I had to keep reaching out to them to follow up. We were patient but it was a bit frustrating. We tried to understand and gave them no grief for this. Once we finally got our order, we ended up paying $1500 for only 75lbs of meat. That's $20 a pound! We were missing 25lbs of meat, the cuts are very small, and we only got a few correct steaks from our cut sheet. The rest was very expensive ground meat. Also, some of the vacuum seals were bad and blood was leaking everywhere. Dana promised 100lbs for a 1/4 cow, which is 20lbs lighter than other farms, by the way. You should really pay no more than $8 a pound hanging weight. We wanted to try them out because we liked their message. But we only got 75lbs and the wrong items, all in 3 small boxes. I professionally weighed the meat on our farms produce scale right away and called the delivery driver before he left town and asked if there was another box on the van he forgot. He said he would pull over and check but never called me back. So, I reached out to Dana directly to explain my concern. He seemed to care and promised to fix it the next week. When I didn't hear back from him after waiting a week, I texted, emailed and called for almost 3 weeks. All atttempts were ignored. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PICTURES OF MY TEXTS WITH DANA ON OUR YELP REVIEW THAT ACCEPTS PICTURES. They clearly show how he told me he would send the missing meat out the following week, then completely ghosts me until yesterday, almost 3 weeks. This was in addition to my emails and phone calls that were also ignored. Lauren (his wife) finally calls me back, but only after I threaten to leave a bad review, which I had no intention of doing until now. That only made it worse since she was very rude and abrasive towards me. She made me feel terrible and hung up on me because I was respectfully standing my ground about our experience so far. All I wanted was what was owed to us, nothing more. Just wanted what Dana promised me he would fix, and what we paid for. We understand mistakes, they happen at our family farm all the time. What matters is how you handle them and making sure the customer is taken care of, no matter what. Because without our customers, we are nothing. Freedom Farms forgot this here. Just go somewhere else. NOT the grocery store, of course since their meat is unhealthy for you as you know. Go to another local America loving cattle farm that will take care of you, even when they make a mistake, for that is when it counts the most. God Bless.
