Freedom Theatre is a cultural gem in the city! The performances are always engaging, and the historic venue adds a special touch to each show. I love supporting local arts here!

This place is great, its literally filled with black history and its culture. In the lobby it has pictures hanging of their founders and of the children that trained or is currently training in their children's theater program. Inside of their actual theater, there is about 200 seats if not more. A balcony that looks like as though one would use it for VIP guest only. Lighting and sound booth, as well as a good looking stage, with dressing rooms in the back. I only know this information after inquiring about the place during my last visit. I've been here twice, once for a comedy show and the again for church. I don't know everything about this place or its history, however I do know enough that makes me want to be apart of this amazing place. It needs a little work done inside, which I believe they are in the middle of remodeling. So I cant wait to see how it looks once finished. Afterwards, I'm sure my 4 stars will turn into 5. Go luck guys... Oh yeah guys, I took a few pictures of the theater while I was attending church check them out. P.S. The praise team is unbelievable.

What a beautiful historic facility! New Freedom Theater is a cultural gem in the city of Philadelphia that has provided so many opportunities in the performing arts community for some of the most talented artist, entertainers and countless others in the entertainment business. The place its great looks like it could have potential but the woman that is over it is always late never answers the phone nor the door so unprofessional no staff or understaffed the women needs help oh and the place is dirty the two house keepers she had to clean the place quit because the build was too big for two people to clean i just dont like the way things are run there
