"Fremantle Markets ::: Great coffee, lovely food This is a fairly large market with treats galore. Lots of artisanal products and artwork as well. Highly recommended that you take a walk about and perhaps stop for a drink like I did, at this cafe at one of the exits of this market. Absolutely loved our visit to Fremantle Markets! The place was buzzing with colour, culture, and flavour. We caught the truffle season tasting, sampled delicious Tibetan food, devoured a creamy cannoli, and picked up the juiciest fresh watermelons. A vibrant, refreshing atmosphere that captures the soul of Fremantle - perfect for foodies and wanderers alike!

Not really the farmer's market experience we expected, but lots of interesting food from many different regions and the variety makes it worth taking a look if you're in the area! A good place to stop by and look for something to eat, though seating is limited and I guess there really isn't much 'Australian' food here per se.

I absolutely adore the market and the vibrant atmosphere it offers. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Perth. This place is steeped in history and showcases a diverse array of items, ranging from household goods to beautiful decorations. You can find everything from teas and coffees to unique artisanal products. During my visit, I had the pleasure of tasting some exquisite Australian-made wine and cider, both of which were incredibly smooth. I encourage everyone to sample and purchase these local beverages to support the community's small businesses. If you happen to be hungry, you'll be pleased to discover an abundance of restaurants and fast food options nearby, catering to every palate. Overall, this market is truly amazing and has become one of my favorite spots in Fremantle.

Amazing places with fresh and hot foods. We visited on Sunday and school holidays. It is packed and everyone squeezed to buy foods or windows shopping like us. Most of the hot foods stalls has a long queing.

This market only opens on weekends. Most of the stalls sell souvenirs, handicrafts, fruits, and clothes aimed at tourists. There are some fresh fruits and a few food and drink stalls that look quite appealing. The only downside for me is the limited seating area for diners, and the stalls aren’t particularly impressive if you’re looking to buy gifts.

Located at South Terrace & Henderson Street, Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia 🇦🇺. The atmosphere at these markets is so vibrant and uplifting. The range of products on sale is really diverse and unique. I love looking at art and crafts. One of my favourite things when I go to any market if looking for handmade products and there was plenty here. There was also a huge fruit and vegetable section. Everything was so fresh and looked so delicious. I bought some strawberries 🍓, so yummy 😋. You could get some wonderful homemade local souvenirs for pretty reasonable prices. There was some great street entertainment also adding to the fun atmosphere, which enhanced our experience of visiting. The market is indoor which protected us from the elements. There was some great food stalls when we got hungry. The Fremantle market was established in 1897. It houses over 150 shops for artists, merchants in the historic hall and fresh food producers, vegetables growers in the yard. It is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as most public holidays. It is a popular Fremantle tourist attraction but is also popular with the locals. I had a wonderful time at these great markets. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

Fremantle Markets is a lively and atmospheric destination that plays a big part in the Fremantle experience. Housed in a beautiful historic building, the market has that classic mix of colour, sound, and scent you expect — a real sensory experience that draws locals and tourists alike. It's bustling, vibrant, and at times a bit chaotic, especially on weekends, but that’s part of its charm. Like most well-known markets, there’s a clear tourist tilt. Some stalls feel overpriced for what’s on offer, especially those selling souvenirs or imported goods you could find elsewhere. If you're expecting a haven of local produce and crafts, it’s there — but you’ll need to look past the more generic items to find it. There are standout stalls though: local artists, handmade products, some excellent food vendors, and proper barista coffee. A few of the smaller traders have real passion and creativity, and that’s where the market shines. The fresh produce section is also worth checking out if you're after fruit, veg, or something to snack on. The overall vibe is friendly and casual, with a good mix of families, tourists, and locals. It’s a great place for people-watching, grabbing a bite, and soaking in a bit of Fremantle’s unique culture. Just don’t go in expecting every stall to be a hidden treasure — think of it more as an experience than a shopping destination. All in all, it’s definitely worth a visit if you're in Fremantle, especially for first-timers. Just take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and keep your eye out for the hidden gems among the usual fare.

Excellent Market. Terrific Variety of Stalls and Food options. We arrived early so got nearby paid parking. For an old building it’s still nice, clean and well looked after. Beautiful location 👍🏻

Yelp
Expensive but that's part of the experience, so is the busy-ness (like being in a school of fish) Noisy and fun on a Sunday! would go again to try the fruit got beef jerky, locally sourced and amazing Try the purple wine if you can! about 18 dollars a bottle but amazing, ask the seller all the details about it (less sulfur means less hangover?!) recommend the Moscato!

Yelp
I certainly love these markets, though in a way that don't hold up to the markets in South East Asia, namely because of the distinct lack of haggling. However, these markets are located in a lovely old building, and there is definitely a huge variety here as well. Okay, I only wandered around here for a bit, but the atmosphere was great. There just really does seem to be a charm about this place. It is certainly a place to visit, especially if you do like markets.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday and it was extremely busy. There were so much to see and oh the food! So many choices. From mains to dessert to coffee.. I had the Ottoman bored, feta and spinach and it was so good!! There was a line but this was worth the wait. It was very filling. I went to My Bayon next door to get some paper rolls. The pork was so flavoursome and refreshing. The laksa was not too spicy for me and delicious. The BBQ pork bread was really tasty too. I wish I had more room to fit in some dessert Seats are limited at the stalls but there are some areas at the back or the nearby park to eat, enjoy the sunshine and people watch. There are lots of fruit and vegetables stalls to do some grocery shopping to make the day even more productive!

Yelp
We went to Fremantle Markets last Sunday and I loved it! We parked at Fremantle Oval because it is just across the market and parking rate is relatively cheap. We toured the market and looked around their specialty shops. You can find all sorts of stuff there from leather bags, bracelets, candles, wood craft, coffee shops, multi cultural cuisine, etc. The aura of the place is lively because there are many people around. When we felt tired, we ate at a Japanese stall serving noodles. I don't know the name of the store because it is in Hiragana (Japanese writing), and I already forgot my Japanese lessons. The stall doesn't run out of customers because the noodles taste good. We had a prawn dumplings noodle soup and enjoyed it. The serving is also large so I just shared with my husband. After eating noodles, we had dessert at Muffles & Co. It is just a few stalls away from the Japanese noodles. The serving is also large so my husband and I shared with one. We ordered Daisuku flavor. It is composed of matcha flavored ice cream with sweetened mung beans on the top. The muffle/wrap is also yummy. We were happy with the 12aud spent on it :). Below is my picture eating it.

Yelp
Based on my past experience with Markets, I was hoping for more street food fare on a larger scale. However, I was a tad disappointed as Fremantle Markets was smaller than what I had in my mind's eye. Nonetheless, it was a great experience wandering around the marketing browsing through shops offering Aboriginal clothes, trinkets, salts, honey and what not. It's roughly grouped into three sections (from what I can see), namely, food, fresh produce (fruits & vegetables) and non-edible items (clothes, paintings etc). Was starving by the time we got to Fremantle Market and we tried the Spanish Paella and Jumbo Sausage with Mustard/Sauerkraut. These stalls were clustered around the food section and other offerings include, Korean Fried Chicken and Beer (portion was huge and looks oily so we skipped that), Pizza, Indian pancake and fresh juices. Not much choices and sitting options were limited save for a long bench in the middle with limited high stools. Anyway, it's a market and food are meant to be savored while walking and standing! The fresh produce section boasts some of the most vibrant coloured fruits and vegetables I've seen and I got tempted to buy a box of strawberries and kiwis which the owner claimed was sweet but was so-so. I let the strawberries sit for a few days in the fridge and it tasted sweeter as the colour deepens. Came across a Fish & Chips place that was featured on Yelp (yay!) while I was there, so I proceeded to find that place. Overall, a great stop if you're ever in Fremantle.

Yelp
The Freo Markets come alive in the mid-morning, which is great if you love to sleep in on the weekends! I enjoyed tasting fruit, buying bread, admiring trinkets, people-watching. There's lots of fun food options. You'll find German sausages, home-baked quiche, charcoal burgers, fried chicken, Asian fusion bao, doughnuts, muffles (muffin waffles), Malaysian roti and coffee, French pastries, Japanese ramen, fresh juice, a lolly shop, and a bunch of other options. My currywurst hotdog ($7) and pretzel ($3) made a fabulous breakfast. I also tucked into a glorious jam doughnut ($4.50) and chocolate doughnut ($4.50). Why not? It was Sunday and I love being a glutton. Give yourself at least a couple of hours to wander around. The Freo Markets are perfect for tourists and locals who want to explore their own city!

Yelp
Kind of crowded in a super small venue, but WOW lots of awesome and unique vendors!! Lots of local artists, bakers, and craftsmen. The pins and patches booth was my favorite. And Cookie Monster fudge!!

Yelp
Fremantle Markets are a must do when visiting offering the local experience of market food, local arts & knick knacks. If you're an out of towner they're easily accessible via train from Perth - if you're travelling to other stations on the same day make it worth your whole and get yourself the full day pass as in Perth a return ticket is limited via time, ie. if you get back on the train by a certain hr it's inclusive, if not you need to purchase another ticket. There's a cool painted piano at one of the entry points that was donated to the markets and anyone can jump in it to play - love the community spirit! Get a bag of caramel popcorn to munch on as you walk the markets- airy, crispy and lightly sprayed with caramel with a salty touch... Very addictive! I opted for the seafood Paella at $14 a serving. A little steep but you'll find this to be the general trend in Perth (when you're a Sydney-sider). There is so much on offer here for the foodie; German sausage dogs, Perth's own version of the Turkish Gozleme which had their own unique fillings, nitrogen ice cream, cupcakes galore, cheese of every kind from The mouse Trap... The list goes on and on but my appetite only allows for so much so definitely will visit again before I head back home.

Yelp
I definitely enjoy coming to Fremantle Markets. It's a lively place - beware of the crowds - with plenty of amazing stalls and food options that - after several years - I still haven't fully discovered. Of course, there are just so many that I'll write about them in seperate reviews, but come and discover for yourself. If you're looking for something specific, then visit their website so you can plan ahead. If not, be prepared to discover the amazing stuff they have here. There is fresh produced, tasty food, clothing, art...You think of it, and you can probably find it here.

Zac R.

Yelp
First thing for food: YUUUUUMMMMMM!!!!!! Second: The food Varieties are great! From German to Japanese and even Indian!! And even sugar to super healthy lean green! Third: The other section, the arts and crafts, wasn't really my interest but still some good things in there. Anyway, pretty good overall! :)

Yelp
Though comparitively small to other cities' markets, I like the Fremantle Markets for its cleanliness. Things aren't tackily displayed like you'll find at, say, Paddys in Sydney. And on the fresh produce side, there isn't that uppity, inaccessible vibe that you get at Melbourne's Victoria Markets. On that note, though, there was one Korean grocer who got on my nerves. She short-changed me $20 and when I went back after realising she insisted that I was in the wrong which is most embarrassing when you have to argue while people are waiting to pay for their mangos and grapes. I particularly like the innovative varieties of coffee beans you can get here, like Tia Maria, Grand Marnier and Butterscotch Toffee. And I can rarely resist a Bubblegum Icecream from the Peter's Stand.

Yelp
The best way to spend my saturday...sleep in till 8 lol Clean house etc will down the hours till 1300 then markets here i come. First stop lolly shop at the end at the sale and anchor entry yep $10 scottish fudge now this gets me sat to sat with no dramas....(BUT my partner is one of those annoying people who by his OWN defination doesnt eat sugar or unsaturated fats blah blah blah) so an extra $5 for the masked bandit who raids my fridge. Then next stop the tea and spice shop i love taking a new assortment of flavours home to try we both Love our tea. I get my cleanser toner and masks from corrynes and then my soy candles from Puca love that she has different ones every sat i buy 4 large they last for about 30hrs each. Then off to the Yard levi donut if the mood is right or choc covered strawberries...yep even the unnamed bandit partakes.... With 3 last stops...."MUM throw down some money the ice cream man is coming!!!!!" Us 80s babys probs only ones who will get that!!! So yes a piggys tail polenta cone filled with ice cream.... Gotta eat that first... Then takeaway spuds 2 baby corn and I GO BACK TO FIND the other half....usually somewhere between beef jerky and the bush cafe his two fav places but if he has slept in....There is a take no prisoner rule in our place... I will stroll through the shops and have a sticky beak never know what you will find.....

Yelp
I love Fremantle Markets! I haven't been for quite a few years so I decided to stop in while wandering through Freo - and I have to say I forgot how great the vibe is in here. I will say that the Markets are in a pretty confined space with A LOT going on, so it can get a little tight and cosy. There is pretty much a store or stall to cover every category - arts and crafts, hair, health and beauty, clothes, food, food and more FOOD! I enjoyed wandering around and seeing the various stalls, but the food is what it's all about for me! They have a LOT on offer - market stalls to buy fresh fruit and veg, health food stores, cakes and sweets stalls, and a stall for just about every cuisine imaginable. It would be impossible to get through it all, so I plan on heading back on an empty stomach! The combination of so many amazing smells and flavours is heavenly. I love how much is going on, how many different cultures there are and how many different shops are all jam-packed under one roof. It really is a testament to our multicultural way of life, and well worth a visit!

Yelp
I'm a Freo local so I've been going to these markets on and off for years. Very touristy but there's also some delicious food, fresh produce and things to buy. Souvenirs galore for tourists but if you're a local like me you can still find things to buy that aren't aimed at tourists. A tip, go on a Friday during the day or night if you can as it's less busy. Going on a Saturday or a Sunday can be a very painful/frustrating experience simply due to crowds.
google avatar

Mariea C.

Yelp
What can I say - I love this place. Such a great Sunday outing just strolling the bustling streets of Freo and the alleyways of this iconic market. So much variety and great ideas for presents. So much stuff to choose from. The fruit and veg section is so alive with people and lots of little cafes/restaurants showcasing the amazing variety of multicultural foods, which happen to include, made there in front of your eyes, amazing donuts - try the blackberry and a coffee from across the way. There are lots of jewelry places to pick up that special something for that special someone or just for you and you alone. I can't remember ever having a bad experience out there as everyone is on the same wavelength - chilling on a Sunday or Saturday or even Friday.

Yelp
Fremantle markets is a great place to buy Australian souvenirs, go groceries shopping or simply browse. I have been to many markets around Australia (Including the famous one in Hobart) and Fremantle is one of my favourites: lots of funky stalls, varied food options, great layout. If you're spending a day (or more) in Fremantle, make sure you stop by the market!
google avatar

Danie D.

Yelp
So it's a Sunday thing we do once a month and head to freo markets even if it is just for the doughnuts and corn it's changed so much over the years I love it so much it's like coming home it's always busy and jam packed with amazing foods and trinkets! The doughnuts were amazing yet were so fresh we had to wait for them to cool we were meant to head back for some paella but got caught up watching a young busk and a run in with Earl the emu I can't imaging someone from Perth hasn't been but if so it is a must!
google avatar

Ruth T.

Yelp
I love being able to wonder around the Fremantle markets on a weekend. There's always different things to see and buy and there's a real buzz about the place. Last week I was able to buy some paella for lunch - tasty for $11. I like the fact that at some of the fruit stalls you can taste the oranges and apples before you buy them. In the afternoons in the bar which is in the market there is live music and such a great atmosphere with people enjoying themselves and relaxing. I also love the different stalls - it's a good place to go for Chritmas shopping or if you just want to wander around and see what's on offer.

Yelp
Fremantle Markets is what a market should be - a bustling hive of activity. Somewhat chaotic and noisy, lively and spirited - and also is a place for quirky items. Being that it's Fremantle, quirkiness is almost a given, but there are some items that are quirky even for the area. The Markets are large, and separated into two rough sections - the fruit and vegetables, and the other, larger area that is best known as "miscellany". The fruit and vegetables section is fairly straight-forward, with various sellers competing for your attention [and are generally kind enough to let you sample their produce]. The "miscellany" section, on the the other hand, is full of shops of many persuasions, from clothing stores, to music, to specialty food products, jewelery stores and many others. To add to the colour of the Markets, there is usually a busker or two performing. The Fremantle Markets are a fun place to spend an afternoon, and to walk away with a unique pendant or an excellent jar of honey. There are also roasted cashews which are simple but surprisingly beautiful.
google avatar

Hayley A.

Yelp
The Freo markets are a amazing place to taste all the amazing variety of foods coming from all around the world and to get presents, accessories, pet items and drinks. As you walk throughout the Fremantle markets you will see golzine and more. The Freo market is like a giant buffet. One of my favourite place at the Fremantle market is the fluffy lamb. I highly recommend this stool as they make amazing food.
google avatar

Lynn M.

Yelp
Without fail, every weekend I will end up conducting the token slow walk and shuffle around the packed markets in Freo smelling, tasting and wanting an immense array of products. The food selection is great and can ammuse everyone, hungover or energised. There is always a random dispplay of vegetable graters or sharp knives to keep you entertained as you wait for your crepe or coffee. There isn't only food and drinks of course, there is a wide variety of gifts, music, childrens clothes and all sorts of hippy type paraphanalia. My recommendation is this: 1) Come with patience because traversing the small alleys can get frustraiting. 2) Come with an empty stomach because the desire for food will overpower your full stomach. 3) Come in the afternoon so you can stop by the markets bar and have a cheap cold drink with free music or if you would rather not then come early and avoid the crowds. 4) Don't worry about your morning coffee, stop off at coffee connections. Done! Have Fun!

Yelp
From local fresh produce to kitsch Aussie tourist tat, this much loved local institution has much to offer whether you're just passing through town or a long time resident.Treat yourself to a fried battered twist of potato while stocking up on flavoured coffees, fresh bread and gifts for friends and family.Try to avoid the rush hour when it floods with tourists who appear to completely lose their ability to ambulate upon entry.Handy & economical grocery shopping to be had close to closing time when vendors put on fire sales.Catch the CAT bus to make a quick getaway with your market loot

Samantha M.

Yelp
I have always associated markets with buying quirky items, but now when I look at Fremantle Markets, I see a variety of wonderful goods, some very different to what you would find in a normal shopping centre. As you squeeze past all the people and look at the fresh produce, the gifts, and the food and drink, you have to stop and buy something, unlike a normal shopping centre where the temptation does not exist. Sometimes you end up buying a lot. You start with some nice fruit, then the kids see something they love, and you can't resist, and you make your way through to the hot food, and you decide it's a really good time to eat lunch or dinner. There is that fabulous atmosphere in there, and once you emerge after spending all your money, you decide to come back again for more another day.

Yelp
There is quite the hype about this place and to be honest it must be doing something right, judging by the hoards of people that it seems to hold whilst open. Crowds of mainly tourists fill the place. If you can be bother to push past the massive crowds of people then you will probably find some pretty cool things. For instance, the Nut stand, sugar coated almonds, YUM! The fruit market is the best part for me, slightly quieter, and heaving with fresh fruits and vegetables. A heap of free samples and prices that you would NEVER find in a super market. The fruit is organic and delicious. Worth the visit just for that really.
google avatar

Ali H.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit to these markets. The quality of merchandise is good - pretty much universally. Every stall I saw had really well made and reliable stuff, with very few offering cheap trashy items. The range is vast - from fruit and vegetables, to clothes, beauty products, food, refreshments, leather goods, electronics and ... yes, you can even have a tarot reading. The atmosphere is really positive with a great vibe from stall holders and shoppers alike. Remarkable, given how busy it was this Sunday morning. It's easy to find too. Good market.
google avatar

Marissa P.

Yelp
Great indoor markets carrying everything from fresh fruit and veggies to fresh meat and seafood! Also had a gift items, jewelery, and homemade baked goods! Everything was very affordable and there was plenty of other items available from handbags to clothes! Great venue, lots of options!

Payal H.

Yelp
Great place for people watching, unusual arts and crafts, yummy food and all very close to the cappuccino strip. Good for tourists and locals alike.
google avatar

Tomas F.

Yelp
Though I recommend it to tourists, as a local I don't spend much time at Fremantle Markets. Though they have a great range of fruit in the section out the back, I find it's more convenient to buy this kind of produce locally. The remainder of the markets are full of items that are of interest if you are in Freo for a day out with the family, but personally there's rarely much in here that I actually want to look at anymore. Most of the time, I find the narrow walkways and hordes of tourists makes this the kind of claustrophobic experience I aim to avoid. That said, for people like me who don't enjoy the walk around, at least there is a massage corner and the rest of Freo is just a short walk away, so it's not the worst place to visit.
google avatar

Yelp
I LOVE the markets! Since moving here there hasn't been a wknd gone bye that I didn't make it there at some stage even if it was just to get coffee on the way to work at black cherries coffee or to get some cheap fruit and veg. The markets cater to the gourmet grazer or the frugal shopper and there's even live music and a bar for the fellas! It's a regular spot for me do if your there and see me give me a wave
google avatar

Jacqui E.

Yelp
Good cheap fruit n veg, seasonal, flours, pastas, breads etc. As far as I know, no butcher/fishmonger. Good market to go to if you live in the area!

M M.

Yelp
I'd never really been a fan of going to market until I moved to Perth. Food markets over east are mainly a cheese lovers affair, with expensive, organic produce dominating. Fremantle Markets was my first market experience, and I'm really glad it was because it really is a five star experience. They have everything - amazing, fresh produce in the food hall, clothes, soy candles that smell so good you could eat them, jewellery, gourmet nuts and confectionery, toys, tea, herbs, spices, clairvoyants...I could go on. It's a popular place for both tourists and locals, but keep in mind that the pace here is easy breezy. Absolutely no rushing! The people here move slooooow, and you're well advised to do so accordingly. There are a number of places I always frequent in the markets, and these are Black Cherries espresso for consistently flavoursome coffee and awesome service, the food hall for cheap vegetables which will likely half your grocery bill, thai vegan for some cruelty free Asian fare, coffee connection for their amazing selection of flavoured coffee beans, the raw kitchen for kombucha juice or a bliss ball, and NatMed for a cheap consult and herbal remedies. If you're driving, there's loads of parking around the place. There's also bike parking too right outside Shanghai Markets.

Yelp
The Freo Markets are, in a nutshell, a timeless collection of stalls and sensory delights. I have been capped at 3 categories to summerise what is encompassed in these markets but you are pretty much guaranteed to find something of interest no matter what you may (or may not) be looking for. I went on an adventure to these markets last week and had a blast. The markets are comprised of all things wierd and wonderful, vaguely separated into 3-4 general sections, starting with a spear head at the main entrance. Whichever sprusker has that prime position is sure to attract your attention- (last week it was an enthusiastic man peeling up a storm with "the peeler of the future!") I was weaving in and out of all kinds of miscellaneous spaces filled with local and imported treasure. I found the stall holders to be generally friendly, pocessing a refreshingly relaxed approach. (Sometimes so relaxed that they are hard to spot as they camouflage into the scene, enjoying a good book or chatting with fellow owners.) There is even a keyboard set up toward the back where you can "rent that space" and turn your hand to busking should the mood strike! (I considered launching my "chop sticks" and "kuckles" career but will endevour to master a couple more classics.) These stalls seemlessly fade into a coffee strip surrounded by consumable delights such as pancakes, chocolates, german suasages and pretzels. (I don't know how I feel about soap posing as confectionary but it makes me suspicious of near by "cake" stalls and candy shops. . .) Beyond the coffees and cakes lies the fresh fruit and veg section with the an abundance of all things green and good - A must for any foodies but a refreshing experience for all who stroll through. (This is due to a cleverly installed sprinkler system leaving the produce and passers by mist-ified.) The markets are enclosed but there are several entrances and exits which allow you to incorporate the street performers and local artisans as part of the experience. Also a handy escape when your sense of direction fails you and you find yourself trapped, as I did, in a labyrinth of clothes, trinkets and treats. There is an illusive familiararity in the sense that a coffee cove along a side strip one week may be an art space the next. Whatever you're looking for, whether it be to buy, sell, mingle, snack or purchase a caricature to pass the time with a laugh- you're enjoyment is limited only by your imagination (and occassionally your finances!)

Yelp
A popular tourist attraction on the cappuccino strip, the coast line and the train line and a regular weekend event for food lovers and nick nack hoarders of trinkets, silver jewellery and quaint mementos. Fremantle Markets oftens experiences the opening of new stalls while some have been there for years, probably the reason we all keep coming back is to discover the new and treasure the old. The take-away food stalls are definitely my favourite, offering anything from corn on the cob to scrumptious crepes and gozlemes (a turkish savoury crepe). If you not so keen on the shopping, Fremantle Markets is always buzzing and is the ultimate place to come to people watch, breathe in the mix of cultures and to be entertained by the street festivals and buskers.

Yelp
If you really want to, you could make a whole day of the Freo Markets - or a halfer at least. To get the nerves twitching you could grab a coffee from Black Cherries Espresso in the Yard, have a good gander at all the stalls in the Hall, maybe treat yourself to some homewares or a piece of clothing (young peeps will get some kicks from the adorable designs at Monster Threads) and then grab some lunch at one of the many eateries on offer (Raw Kitchen and Gozleme both come recommended). Post lunch, you might pop into the fortune teller for a bit of fun - always a laugh if you're with friends, maybe step out and go for a walk along the main drag of Freo, stop back into the Hall and grab yourself a speciality treat (the cupcakes are awesome), do your fresh fruit and vegetable shop for the week, stop into Clara's Wholefoods for those extra supplies, and then finish for a drink at the Fremantle Market Bar. If you really soak up the charms of this historic market place, you won't even know the day has ended when it does.

Yelp
I had a really odd experience today standing at the freo gozmele stand with my son in a pram. Every time we come to the markets we treat ourselves here at this stand. Have been for awhile now. Love the spinach and feta. We generally avoid peak sessions but today we found ourselves there at a very busy hard to move through the crowd. I placed my order and as people were coming in I was shuffling over the side to wait for my order with the pram. I shuffle once, twice, three and four times as soon as someone left. Clearly this wasn't enough for the owner who kind of got annoyed with my presence or at least the child in the pram taking up room and felt the need to tell me about it. I'm not sure what she thought I could do. I was waiting to pick up my order, stuck between people and moving to the side when a break in the crowd presented itself. Odd.... Very odd. Food good attitude.... Not sharing the love or common sense.

Yelp
A really fun and interesting place in Fremantle. They sell a variety of things from produce to art to really yummy bratwurst. Even if you don't need to buy anything in particular it's a nice place to just stroll around and grab lunch. Very busy with locals and tourists.
